After years of routine visits at Belcaro Animal Hospital, a recent positive experience with them prompted me to write out a review from the fantastic experience I've received from them! The entire staff and Doctors (I've seen 3 since being there) are warm and welcoming. Their prices are reasonable, and I've always been able to be seen within a timely manner. I've often gone in as a Walk-In, so sometimes there can be a bit of a wait. But frankly, its exactly how I'd expect to be treated as a Walk-In, whats important is they were always able to get me into their schedule. Recently my dog, Rodney, developed an allergic reaction. Dr. Otero personally returned my call, was able to help me get my pup back to feeling 100% at a time I was unable to get into the office for a formal evaluation. As someone who works in the health field, I am always impressed when the staff and Docs are willing to call their patients and help them however they can. It shows a compassion and love for the work that they do. I'd highly recommend Belcaro Animal Hospital, and will be remaining a client as long as I'm in Denver. Keep up the great work, thanks Belcaro!

Belcaro Animal Hospital is run like a family business. Veterinarians will never charged for anything that is not necessary. The staff is very busy but very competent and loving. They have always been accommodating, reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. I now live in Lakewood and even though there are several vets who are closer, I still prefer to drive across town to Belcaro.

I took my pup to another vet after a month of stomach issues and weight loss. They brushed it off as nothing to be concerned with. After another month and $100 of different foods tried, she was only getting worse. I decided to take her to Belcaro because of the shining reviews, and they did NOT disappoint. Dr. Siltman took his time with her and even gave us a sample of some new food to try out so I didn't have to waste money on another unsuccessful bag. This is the best veterinarian clinic in Denver. The only problem is a lot of other people know about them and making an appointment can take awhile. They are great with my dog. My dog had surgery on.hi stomach and they had to keep him overnight. The next day we picked him up and he was doing great.

Everytime I have taken my dogs there, they have solved the problem. From broken leg, to neutering, my dogs have received exceptional and compassionate care. They are very reasonably priced for the excellent service they provide. I am in medicine and I am highly critical, and I have never been disappointed.

Dr. Hardy is wonderful and most of our early experiences with Belcaro are positive, but there's a huge problem with having so many vets seeing patients. We ran into some major problems getting our dog vaccinated last year. He had previously gotten a 3-year rabies vaccination, only two years prior to his visit at Belcaro. They ended up vaccinating my dog for rabies a year early, and forgetting to give him two necessary vaccinations. I found out after the fact, because my husband was the one that took him in that day. I took him back in to get the vaccination he didn't receive the first time, and they took him to the back and gave him the wrong vaccination AGAIN. We ended up moving and having to transfer our paperwork, and they neglected to do this until we asked a few times. When we first started going to them, everything was great, but the more busy they became, the worse the care became as well. We were very disappointed.

I've always had a great experience at Belcaro, but to get a detailed understanding, I asked our 4 dogs. The interview follows: Me: "Hey guys, do you want to go see Dr. Otero?" Bakko (Shiba Inu): "BAOOOOOOOOOOOH!" (that's an excited yes) Tasha (Shiba Inu): *excitedly runs around in circles biting at the air* (another yes) Ava (Yellow Lab): *wags tail excitedly and pulls me toward the door* Bo (Chocolate Lab): "ARHOOOOOO!" (and other sounds vaguely resembling an excited Wookiee) *tail knocks everything off of the coffee table* Looks like it's unanimous! The staff and veterinarians at Belcaro are all helpful and wonderful!

Dr. Herman takes a simple first approach and never the CYA, let's order all the expensive tests first approach, which I love. He will educate, guide, reason and listen to help you reach a decision when necessary. We take our three dogs to Belcaro and wouldn't go anywhere else. We love Dr. Bechtold, but all the vets there are terrific. They are very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. As busy as Belcaro is, the care they give to animals is A+, the waiting times are not very long, the place is clean, and prescriptions/refills are easy to pick up. We can't say enough good things about everyone there and their operation.

The vets are very nice and accommodating; however the women at the front desk are incredibly rude and impatient. They are never understanding and if you have any questions they answer in a condescending unfriendly manner. We have been going to this vet for years and recently been receiving bad treatment from the front desk. I feel very uncomfortable when calling for appointments. They do not know how to treat their patients with respect.

As an animal rescue finding vets to work with us, when we bring in so many animals, has proven to be very difficult. Dr. Otero from Belcaro has helped us out with SO many animals! Their entire staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and do everything they can to get our sick animals healthy again. We are so happy to be able to work with them, and so thankful that they do what they do for us! I've been with Belcaro for a couple years and have a lot of experience with this clinic, even in that short amount of time. This is a very busy clinic so sometimes it is very hard to get through on the phone if you call first thing in the morning or end of the day. Dr. Herman is also a very popular vet and you have to book with him usually a week+ in advance. That's the end of the drawbacks to this practice and both of those are based on its popularity. You can pay less at some discount clinics and you can pay a lot more at VCA clinics which gets you a trendier waiting room, computerized files and a complimentary soft drink. But it doesn't get you better care. I see Dr. Herman but I've also seen a couple of the other vets and all of them do a great job. Dr. Herman is far and above the best vet I've ever taken my dogs to see. He works very hard at minimizing stress for the animals and is a brilliant clinician who doesn't over treat and doesn't perform unnecessary surgeries or other procedures. He researches, consults with vets in other parts of the country and sat on the floor with my dog during a 2 hour blood transfusion after the clinic was closed. The vet techs at Belcaro have been there for years ... there is no revolving door with underpaid trainees like I've seen elsewhere. I've seen and listened to enough in all parts of this clinic to know that these are very compassionate, professional people and I'm very happy with the care we receive.

Beyond incredible. I go out of my way to see this vet. Upon arrival, unbeknownst to me, one of the receptionists checking me and my cat in noticed that he peed his carrier. She promptly took him to the care room, washed him and the carrier. After a short wait, the doctor seeing us was warm, gentle, and loving. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The vets are nice but the wait times are unacceptable. Been there three times with an appointment and two of those times, we had to wait over 30 minutes in the waiting room past the time of the appointment. I understand they are busy; I'm busy too, that's why we make appointments. So we are both available at the same time. In my experience, they haven't understood that. Granted, I've only been there three times, so take it for what it's worth.

Robert Moore is our vet. He is always very thoughtful and caring even though one of my dogs can be troublesome. All of the staff at Belcaro have always been more than helpful and are very timely. One of my dogs recently had to have knee surgery and Dr. Moore was able to direct us to a specialist that did an awesome job. I've gone to some nightmare vets in the past and this place is truly a breath of fresh air. Everyone was very polite and helpful in explaining all the processes and what the lab results meant for my cat. My cat is never a cool customer when it comes to vet visits, but I feel like they handled him as best they could with the utmost care. It was so nice to receive personal calls and follow-ups from the vets directly and in such a prompt manner - it shows that they really care about the animals they treat and their owners as well. I feel like it's a bit expensive here and they weren't very transparent about cost. They said the checkup would be 60 dollars and they took her back. Gave her a shot for her sinuses and the cost doubled. Not really sure why they didn't discuss that first. I'm a new pet owner so I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work but I feel like if the cost is going to increase they should discuss that with you first. What if I didn't have double the quoted cost? Other than that everyone was friendly, the office was well maintained and services were prompt.

I cannot say enough good things about Belcaro. Dr. Herman took care of my baby Ella from age 10 until she passed away at 15.5. Everyone there went out of their way to make sure her visits were simple and pain-free. Dr. Herman worked tirelessly with my PT/acupuncture vets to ensure that Ella's treatments were in her best interest and he showed tremendous compassion when I finally lost her. Now, I take my new dog Buddy there as well. He has seen Drs. Herman, Siltman and Hardy and they are all wonderful to him. We also love Belcaro's staff, many of whom have been there since I first started coming in 2010. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

Only onething - Dr. Hardy said his surgery day was Wednesday following my appointment and he said he would follow up - he did not, but I am sure he had a full schedule. Thankfully my dog seems to be improving. However, Dr. Hardy was so consoling and assuring and patient. I have a pit/boxer mix. Many vet offices have been reticent to take on my dog - but you ALL have been so loving and wonderful . My dog was trembling and scared to death, but your staff were all Amazing with her! THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO TAKE A PET IN AN EMERGENCY. Our cat ate about 3 ft of a string toy and they told us to wait a few days for it to pass. I don't doubt that they provide excellent routine care as is evidenced by the high rating, however the advice we were given would have most likely killed our cat. As it stands, he needed surgery to remove it.

Not a good place if you need to see the vet quickly. No appointments for a week, even though I explained she isn't eating and is very weak. My kitty has been here before but apparently they don't care about that, refused to recommend another vet, even though I asked several times for suggestions. I was told she cannot make an appointment that does not exist. I called Aspenwood and I got an appointment the next day and she told me should would call Belcaro to get the records, much better service on the phone.

This is the BEST animal hospital/veterinarian facility in the nation! I drive 45 minutes to get here and this is without traffic.............I just wish that Dr. Herman could also see humans.......but all the vets here are great. Doctor Otero has been wonderful. She's thoughtful, gentle, and takes her time sharing information about all of your options. They always offer to do a nail trim if the dogs need it, and I've had excellent experiences with all of the support staff. I can't recommend Dr. Moore's bedside manner with older animals, as he has repeatedly advised against treatment of a healthy animal based solely on age, but I have no complaints with him with my younger pets, or with any of the other staff at all. I've been bringing my pets to Belcaro for years, and will continue to do so, because I feel that I can trust them with my best friends.

I chose this location becaude of good reviews & proximity to my house. Staff was very friendly, although intake could be better organized. I live only two blocks away from another Veterinary Hospital that is very well known and on TV but I choose to drive several more miles to take my dog to Belcaro Animal Hospital. My dog gets good veterinary care at a reasonable price and, though thorough, the Belcaro doctors don't order exotic tests. The doctors listen well and they are willing to teach me. I learn a great deal every time my pup and I visit and my dog is thriving. Also the veterinary techs and office staff at Belcaro have fun together as do all the visiting animals = one great environment. I suggest you try it.
