Doctor Dan was amazing, and the staff was great. The waiting area was clean and spacious enough to keep animals separate. I took my dog in for some vaccination updates, first time at the vet, and they were great with him. Would definitely recommend.

I absolutely love this vet. I’ve seen them multiple times within the last month alone and they are always so amazing. (All three vets within the last month) My dog hates the vet, she always has. As soon as we get in she is trying to escape through the door. The ladies working the desk, vet techs, and vets always take their time with her, wait patiently, don’t force her, and have even sat on the floor with her until she gets comfortable. Not just once but multiple visits. She was having an allergic reaction on the last visit and had to be seen as urgent, and they even let me bring her back in a couple hours later because I was worried about her shaking/breathing from the shot, and assured me that they also wanted to make sure she was okay. It’s rare to find compassion like this within a whole business. Yes, it’s a little more expensive, but you can’t put a price on making sure a member of your family gets the best care possible, and they go above and beyond that.

I have nothing but high praise to give Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. I was able to get a same day appointment for our 'baby girl'. Staff were extremely professional and courteous. Our little one had some serious infections going on and as other previous dissatisfied customer's complained about price (we were concerned too). However, we continued to ask what would each service that was recommend cost and with no hesitation we were provided that information prior to making any final decisions. We were prepared and educated and the staff and doctor took exceptional time and care with our little one. Unfortunately, other complaints have been more about price than care-so with that in mind the quality of care is not the main issue here (and what in the health care realm is not a pretty penny-even for our pets). Our experience, has been nothing but positive. We as their owners have a right to refuse services, have a right to ask questions, and have the right to go somewhere else in the community for care of services. At this point I have had not issues with Animal Hospital of Colo. Springs. If you are searching for a place where the quality of service is equally comparable to the love and care-then look no further. You have found a trustworthy and dependable place for your loved one to receive great care.

Muskie (my mini-Schnauzer) and I visited the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs during our vacation in order to receive a flu shot recommended by the BeALuckyDog daycare resort (also another IMPRESSIVE facility) so that I could have a few days to shop where dogs aren't allowed to accompany their owners. I was thoroughly impressed with the animal hospital facility. I have lived in three different states (military) with my pup, and this animal care center is by far the best. What I appreciated the absolute most was the ease of obtaining a quick appointment and the fact that upon arrival I was escorted to a private examining room....I was not left waiting in a "communal" waiting area. Hence, there were no other animal distractions which can be unnerving for some pets. Once in the private consultation room,my dog was able to relax and when the tech and doctor arrived shortly, we received their undivided attention. Even though I was an out-of-towner, by no means was I rushed or made to feel less important than a resident year-round, Colorado Springs client. Thank you for your service Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs, I will be back! (My children and grandchildren live there, so it is an annual visit!)

My dog needed to be seen for an injury under her eye (fur loss, bloody scratch). Dr. Dan was very kind and patient with my dog who isn't too fond of new people. We felt comfortable and everyone was very nice to us. Check-in and -out was very easy. The facility appeared clean and well maintained. We will be back!

Doctor Rathmell is a proactive rather than reactive Vet. She has treated two of my dogs and always stayed on top of their condition, always looking ahead to combat any possible medical issues. She doesn't provide any medications without truly knowing their in's and out's. I highly recommend Doctor Rathmell to any pet owner. She is very personable and will earn your business, not demand it, as others sometimes tend to do. First dog was calm and my dog now is extremely hyper. She dealt with both professionally and equally loving.

I have never felt more raked over the coals at this place. I feel like they don't stand behind their work and they will take any chance to get into your pocketbook that they can. We've had all of our dogs here many times because they are conveniently close but after the most recent visit we are now looking for a new vet. A very expensive surgical procedure failed and instead of standing behind their work they found another set of procedures they needed to do, all at a high cost to me. If it weren't for good techs at this place, I wouldn't even give them two stars but I believe the techs do care. They don't make the decisions or the price list. The vets on the other hand will gouge you in every way possible just because we're on the edge of the Broadmoor. Now my poor dog has to go through more procedures and pain just because the vet that operated on her the first time was completely incompetent and the job was done wrong. I honestly have never been so sorry to have chosen a vet before

I see people posting this place is expensive, but I'm willing to pay a little more for a great experience and for my pets to receive the best care. Everyone was really nice, and several of the staff made it through my room to see my dog and give her love. The veterinarian was far more attentive then my most I've ever had my pups seen by. He knew a tremendous amount of information on German shepherd's and what to do and look out for to keep them healthy. Overall I love this place and I doubt anyone will have anything bit a great experience here.

I took my dog to this place one time and that was enough for me to see they are seriously only out for money.... I am more of a country vet kinda of person. Meaning I like affordable vets that make you feel like they are there for you and your pets best interest, not your pocket book. I take my animals now to fountain valley animal hospital, they are actually affordable and take great care of my pets. Plus they have almost 5 stars. Edit: 7 years ago, doesn’t mean I still didn’t have a bad experience. Also why I haven’t been back in 7 years!

Excellent vets! They took fantastic care of my German Shepard and ferrets during my time in Colorado. They squeezed us in for urgent care when needed and saved my ferret after she contracted a nasty parasitic infection. My pets saw different vets at Animal Hospital of CS yet the level and quality of care we received each time was consistent. The vets are professional and highly experienced and the staff seems well trained. Prices are definitely reasonable and they made great recommendations for pet insurance.

This is the absolute best Vet I've ever been to! My Mastiff puppy had Parvo, and had to be hospitalized for 6 days! Dr. Dan and his team saved my dogs life! He was so great about calling, daily to inform me on how my dog was doing, morning and evening! I never felt like they were doing too much, just to squeeze a dollar out of me! The staff there is amazing also, we came back for my pup's follow up and the staff came, just to see my baby again. You can tell he received a lot of love and care from all of the staff!! They are slightly further away, from the vet I typically use, with my other 2 dogs, and because of the great care my baby received, I have used them for my Doberman also! I could never thank them enough for all they've done for my puppy, Loki♡

I have run my own companies for over 30 years. These people need to find another profession. They don't care at all about the animals that come in. They are too busy putting together price sheets to up-sell you on all of the products they have "especially their new Laser" Be ware people. I heard them in the back talking about me. The tech was frustrated because I did not want to go along with their surgery plan for my dog. I have traveled the world. I have never met such slime before. I am warning you, if you go you in there, you will see for yourself. There was a man on this message board that is going to the BBB and the Media. I am right behind him. I know a hustle when I see one.. Sure the place is very clean, that is because they do not have a lot of customers!! I only saw one other person in there, and they still made me wait in a room for the longest time.

No offense, but you guys treated my cat haunter a day ago to the tune of $262, and only said he had allergies. You gave him some "natural remedy" gel and sent him home. He got worse and ended up having to go to his primary provider, and they quickly diagnosed him with upper respiratory infection. Nobody is perfect, but I lost $262 to your clinic on an incorrect diagnosis that left my cat feeling even worse. Your veterinarian said he would be receiving IV fluids, took him out of the waiting room and then had him back in there saying he was done within about five minutes. I didn't know setting up an IV and administering fluids only takes a grand total of five minutes? Needless to say, we won't be back.

While living in Arvada, my dog Jasmine was being seen by "Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital". I moved to Fountain and was in search of a vet that had services that I was use to in Arvada. I am pretty sure that I have found that here at the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. I needed hours in which I could make appointments after work or on Saturdays. I wanted a staff that could run tests without sending out for results. The staff is very friendly and care for Jasmine as I though she were theirs.

I came to Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs assuming it was an emergency pet hospital. The receptionist informed me that it wasn’t, but that she could check to see if we could get in for an urgent care visit. We ended up being able to get in under those circumstances, and from the beginning to the end of our visit everyone was extremely friendly to me and my pet and explained exactly what was going on throughout the process. I never had to wait for long, even though we didn’t have an appointment, and I never felt pressured into taking any particular course of action. I would definitely consider making this your regular veterinarian’s office.

She agreed that her dog was given the best attention by the vets there. I still remember this place. We suspected our puppy had parvo- vomiting, bloody diarrhea; he was too young for his first shots by about a week- and we brought him here. Firstly, the supposedly experienced veterinarian couldn't tell if it was parvo from the smell, and insisted we should have a battery of tests run to include xrays (in her expert opinion, it was a stomach/intestinal obstruction) and exploratory surgery just in case the xrays didn't show anything. We just wanted a parvo test; we could afford various tests and the treatment for parvo, but we couldn't spring thousands of dollars for all the services they were trying to sell us. The parvo test came back negative, at which point they started up with the "obstruction" crap again and started pushing us to get a line of credit. The thing was, we'd been very careful with the puppies and we knew for a fact there was no way this one had an obstruction, it just wasn't possible. So we had to chalk it up to a mystery illness and ended up taking him home, where he died the next morning. His brother started with the vomiting and diarrhea the next day, we immediately took him to another vet where they ran a parvo test that came up positive and we had him treated. He didn't make it, but at least they did what they could; on the other hand I'll never forget my wife, my daughter and I sitting in AHCS grief-stricken while the vet treated our dying puppy like it was a cash dispenser. I strongly suspect, but can't prove, that they lied about the parvo test to try to get more money out of us. At the very least they ignored some glaring evidence right in front of them (once you smell parvo you will never, ever forget it- you can't tell me that NO ONE in that entire clinic managed to recognize it, you could smell it all the way out in the foyer) in order to squeeze a few more thousand dollars out of a weeks-old dying pomeranian puppy. AHCS single-handedly convinced us to sign up for pet insurance simply so we'd never have to deal with the likes of them again. To be fair, this was several years ago, hopefully by now that particular vet has either grown a conscience or has been sued into oblivion.

We have been taking our dog, Trinity to the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs for over 5 years now. Trinity has had multiple procedures from TTA's (on both legs), dental cleanings, surgery on both ears, along with annual vaccines and exams. We absolutely love the friendly/welcoming doctors and staff. It's obvious they take pride in their customer service and their clinic. As long as we live in Colorado Springs, we will never take Trinity to any other clinic! You guys rock!

I called here to try and get an appointment to neuter my dog because the Fort Carson Vet was unable to do any surgeries in July due to personnel constraints. On the phone I asked approximately how much it would cost, to which I was told by whoever answers the phone that it would be in the area of $170 dollars. This seemed like a good price to me as it wasn't my main Vet, but I would have to pay a $52 dollar exam as my dog would be a newcomer to this vet, which I figured with the low cost of the procedure, would be worth it. After bringing my dog there to be seen, I was told prices for neutering range from $250-$450 which is fairly expensive, especially when compared to what I was told on the phone. I wouldn't even have come if I had known that, so I feel like I was tricked into coming in to hit me with that general exam fee. The tech and doctor were fine and I had no complaints about that, but I would stress that it is bad business to suggest wrong prices on the phone to get people to come in before stating higher prices. Due to this I only give Animal Hospital 2 stars as the only reason I chose them over other locations was because of the low quote I got on the phone. (P.S. My dog required a special type of neuter which would have been "three times the price depending on complications, my dog has only one descended testicle, but the prices I spoke of in the review was for normal neutering.)

We recently got our 8 week old lab puppy in January and she had no previous shots. My wife called and asked how much it would be to get her puppy shots and the receptionist told us that the regular price would be something outrageously high. However, if we did the "Puppy Package" we would end up saving over $100 and our puppy would be covered for a year. The puppy package included all of her health needs, nail trimming, and seemed on the outside like a great $250 option (sarcasm). I should have known that this was going to be the first scam. Upon arriving there was no other customers there with their pets which seemed odd. We didn't think much of it since the receptionist was friendly and went back to the exam room to wait for Dr. Boley. Dr. Boley talked to my wife and I, both of us having prior experience with animals, like we were complete novices with our puppy. This upset my wife and I greatly, but we simply thought he was overly concerned for our puppy's health and well-being. We returned after four weeks for her second round of puppy shots and were told we had to pay an additional $50 for heart-worming medication that we believed was encompassed in the ever so glamorous Puppy Package. He continually pushed us to purchase dental needs even though she was only 12 weeks old and has exceptionally healthy teeth. We declined and returned four weeks later for her third, and apparently last visit (so much for a year of coverage). My wife went by herself for this appointment since I was at work and the vet tech pushed her to buy yet another service which she declined. My wife also mentioned to the vet that she wanted to find a calming agent for our puppy since she is a little high-spirited and the vet talked down to her like she was a moron with intentions to mistreat our dog. Dr. Boley and his staff look at the animals they are charged to take care of as meager dollar signs. Time and time again he pushed pet insurance, dental packages, and obedience training on us all of which we declined. After we would decline these services we were given the cold shoulder and quickly dismissed from our appointment. We were foolish enough the bring our cat in for her annual booster shots and they wanted to give her blood work and put her to sleep for a simple shot. We declined all of this and left, instead going to the Bijou Animal Hospital. I beg you, for the sake of your animals and your bank accounts, please do not frequent this business. After much research by my wife and myself we've decided to take all of our pets to Bijou Animal Hospital where Dr. Colvin legitimately cares for our pets and the prices are unbeatable. They've even performed services we didn't request for free just because it was beneficial for our pets. Screw AHCS, go BAH.

I had a 15 year old min pin/ dauschand she was very swollen in her face one morning and my daughter had heard good things about this business. I took her there and she unfortunately had to be laid to rest. The office staff from check in to check out and the doctor was truly compassionate and understanding and really made a hard decision to be as comfortable for us as possible. We received a sympathy card and all. I then had a little Chihuahua that had become ill as well shortly after and he had to have many teeth removed. His recovery was amazing and i will have to admit that the treatment that we received from our new veterinary office is way better than my own doctors office. Thank you all very much!

I am so thankful for this animal hospital and the absolutely amazing staff. My family just moved to the area from Massachusetts a little over a month ago and I immediately found a vet for my 7 year old dog who has a lengthy health history along with respiratory issues. I don’t know the area so I literally just picked a random vet office close to my home. My dog had a physical at this office so the vet could get to know her and her history. Fast forward to Friday morning, March 1st, and my dog began with sudden respiratory distress. I called the vet we were accainted with immediately to get her to be seen since she had pneumonia a few months ago and they said they couldn’t fit her in and had no appointments. They said to take her to the ER. I said well I don’t want to on a Friday morning when her vet office is open. They said they are not an emergency vet and that is what the ER is for. The receptionist didn’t even go talk to the vet on that day to see if they would squeeze her in. I refuse to take my dog to the ER every time she gets sick. What is the vet office good for then if they don’t have sick visit slots other than annual check ups? I was super frustrated because I didn’t want to have to pay ER fees unless absolutely necessary. So I went online and found Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. I gave them a call and the receptionist who answered was so nice and put me on a brief hold to speak to the vet on that day, Dr. Muelhaupt. He agreed to see Luna ASAP! The receptionist said there may be a wait cause they were squeezing Luna in and I completely understood. Once we got to the vet they immediately brought us to an exam room and checked Luna’s oxygen saturation to make sure she was stable. Not to long later Dr. Muelhaupt came into the room and listened to everything I had to say about Luna and did a complete assessment on her. He then got some xrays of her lungs, which he believed from the radiographs was pneumonia. He started her on the appropriate medications and felt comfortable sending us home to heal. Before we left he sent us with her xrays just in case she got worse over the night and needed an ER visit. This visit total was maybe an hour long. For a visit without an appointment they got us in and out of the office super quick. Dr. Muelhaupt gave amazing care to my puppy and i am beyond grateful that he took on her case when she wasn’t even a patient of this animal hospital. We made a follow up appointment with him and now Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs in our primary vet clinic. Sadly Luna did need an ER visit that night because her respiratory distress worsened rapidly and oral antibiotics weren’t helping her quick enough. Luna spent 24 hrs in the ICU in the animal hospital under oxygen before being sent home. Monday afternoon Dr. Muelhaupt received the report on Luna from the hospital stay and called me to check up on her. He was sincerely worried about her current state and spent the time to talk to me and answer all the questions I had. I can see how much he cares about his patients! He is an amazing veterinarian and I highly recommend this office for the care of your animal!! They truly care and want the absolute best for them. Thank you for what you have done for Luna!!

Terrible experience at this vet. My dog gets extremely anxious at the vet and these Dr's and techs do not know how to handle anxious pets. So, if your dog might at all act out at the vet's office, do not go here! Their only solution was to put him under every single time he came in for a visit. I was also extremely displeased when my dog was very sick and when I took him in for an emergency exam, they wouldn't do anything because he was so scared and they were too afraid to touch him. They wouldn't even come near him. All they did was send me home with an extremely overpriced bill and some medication, and they never even called to check up on how he was doing. I would highly recommend a different vet office.

I absolutely loved this animal hospital! First off they were AAHA accredited. Furthermore, I felt that it was clean and extremely pet-friendly. The staff were all incredibly nice and pleasant. I really liked how the hospital had an online feature where I could track my pet's records, make appointments, etc. There was also a time when it appeared that we would have to move to Korea with our dog and Dr. Mitchell was very helpful and knowledgeable about the whole process of moving overseas and clear on the timeline of tests and vaccinations. We did get a charge for seeing the vet, but they told me about that ahead of time. Otherwise, if we only saw the technician there was no charge for an office visit. Some people may find them overpriced, but I never found it to be that way.I have always asked about cost and importance of the service for my dog, and the vets and staff have always been very upfront. If I was not prepared to pay for the service at the time I would tell them "no thank-you" and that was that. There was never any pushing from anyone to change my mind. The also periodically offer a free animal first aid/emergency care class, which is really wonderful. Overall: pleasant staff, wonderful care for my dog, always ready to advise and address any questions I may have. I would recommend them to anyone!

I have a few reasons why I gave this vet 5 stars. I had never been here before, and I needed an appointment asap and was given an appointment the same day. Reception was friendly the moment we walked in, and not to mention the place was clean. Every person that helped my dog treated him as if he was their own. I also loved the fact that I was given prices AHEAD of time as well as price ranges and explanations for future treatments. This is the first place I've been to that does that. I came in with my dog today. She had an upset stomach for a few days and I was starting to get concerned for her due to her becoming more lethargic. I called them early this morning and they fit us in within a couple hours. They were very thorough and very sweet to my dog. Having someone who seems like they genuinely care and love dogs is almost as important to me as treating my dog medically. They helped us this morning and I brought her home and I thought her symptoms seemed to be getting worse. I called again and they again got us in ASAP. They weren’t frustrated with me for coming ina second time and gave more treatment options. After 8 months my 12 yr old Shiba is doing really well from knee surgery. She has her old sparkle back! Now that she's recovered my dog is able to go on long walks, play, and is her old self. It was worth the cost to see her doing so well. My Shiba is at the vet now recovering from her second knee surgery. Dr Boley did a great job yet again! Normally my two dogs see Dr Rathmill for routine appts and she does a very good job with examinations and especially bandaging. Is all this care expensive? You betcha, but I adopted older dogs whose issues, if at all, aren't totally covered by insurance. Overall my dogs receive excellent care from AHCS.

Please READ THE REVIEWS before coming to this clinic. My puppy needed a corrective surgery and there was no question about it, I decided to do his neuter at the same time to avoid putting him under twice. I had anticipating spending 600-700 for his surgery all together based on what they quoted me. The day I came in for the neuter I decided NOT to neuter him. He is a very sweet dog and will have to problem with aggression as I feared. The doctor came back with a new surgery plan that was $150-$200 more than my surgery plan WITHOUT the neuter. I understand saving money with getting them together but was not expecting the neuter to all of a sudden to be "free" and lucky me I get a huge discount from the original sugery too! Whatever like I really believed that crap!!! I did it still since he needed it bad right now. When I picked him up, amazingly, the total was EVEN MORE! Ihave been cheated.Once the doc knew I had my heart set- all of the sudden my original surgery was way more than I was told. All he would say was the benefits of getting a neuter and conveniently didn't mention the cons of getting a god neutered at 6 months old- which for me outweighed the pros. I think they may get some sort of commission or reward for each spay/neuter for helping the overpopulation- they could care less of the health of my dog.LOST MY BUSINESS GUARANTEED.

This place was pretty great. We received a free exam in the mail for moving into town, which was really nice. I brought my puppy in for the exam as well as to check for a possible bladder infection. The building looked immaculately clean. The workers were friendly and thorough, and the service was fast. I DO NOT recommend this vet by any means. Our poor dog suffered from the flu that turned into what they thought was "pneumonia". They did all the tests and said our poor dog's lungs were about 50/50 full of fluid and they sent her home because they didn't want to hospitalize her being so contagious. We took her back for a check, she was improving. The very next day our poor girl took a turn for the worst and we called to make an appointment. They couldn't see her until the next day at 5 pm. My gut told me that she wouldn't be alive by the next day so we took her to the emergency vet that this same facility recommended. After looking at the SAME X-rays, we were told that her left lung had very little function if any, and she couldn't confirm that it was pneumonia at all. It could have been something much worse (lung disease/infection). Our baby suffered due to the doctor's poor decision and were left with the only choice by to humanely euthanize our poor girl. She wasn't in the emergency vet for an hour and deteriorated fast. She was in the same condition on Monday when we originally took her to this vet and we were sent home with her to suffer. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOUR ANIMAL'S LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Please explore other vets in town.

I showed up early because my dog gets nervous and sometimes needs a little while to settle in. The front desk staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating with that, and they got me into an exam room early. They were thorough with my dog and had real bedside manner with him, and even went so far as to alleviate some worries I had about some medication advice I had from our previous vet. Everything was handled well and quickly. My pup has found his new doctor, for sure.

The vets are top notch, and practice according to the most current medical guidelines. I really appreciated seeing how an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) - accredited practice is run. The vets here follow the most up to date guidelines to ensure that animals that go under anesthesia receive a thorough work up before hand, and careful monitoring during the procedure. They are great teachers, and that is also evident in the attention and care they put into communicating with pet owners. Really enjoyed working with the technicians too - very friendly and always making sure that appointments were seen on time. Would absolutely recommend this practice to friends and family!

I took our German Shepherd to Animal Hospital of CS for a second opinion back in the summer of 2015. They were extremely compassionate and caring, because I was also considering euthanasia. Dr. Noelle Rathmell advised me to try some different medication and to see if Talon improved. He had a bulging disc and difficulty walking. After about 7 days, Talons condition improved as did his quality of life. Talon was with us for about 9 more months and recently passed last week. Talon was 11.5 months old. Thanks to the Animal Hospital staff we were able to have this extra time with Talon. In addition to the great care and quality of service. Within a week of Talons passing, I received a card signed by all the doctors and staff with their condolences on the loss of Talon. I felt that this was above and beyond and I truly appreciated that they remembered Talon. Especially since we were not regular patients, and have not been back for almost a year. This says a lot when a veterinary office goes out their way to reach out during a time of loss for a one time visiting patient. In addition, Dr. Mitchel has always been highly compassionate and caring to our dogs, as well as our family. Several years ago, she made a house call to euthanize our beloved dog who was dying from cancer. Putting your pet "to sleep" is a very difficult decision to have to make, but Dr. Mitchell made sure our dogs final moments were spent in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side. We recently brought in our 8 year old dachshund for some eye issues, which turned out to be advanced glaucoma. Because the eye was blind and painful, the vet recommended that it be removed. Dr. Rathmell assured us that it was the most humane approach at this stage of the disease. After picking our dog up after his surgery, I knew immediately that it was the right decision. The reconstruction of the eye area after removal was clean and precise; not jagged or puckered as I had seen in other eye removal cases. Almost instantly our dog was back to his old self, no handicap at all having only one eye. We've been going to this veterinary hospital for several years, but after going through something like this I can confidently say that we've made the right choice by going to Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. In response to several other reviews stating the cost is too high, price should not be the determining factor in whether or not animals receive good care. Cheap does not always equal best value. The quality of care offered at this vet is often worth the higher price.

He will talk down to you, encroach in your personal space to show his authority. He will distort facts to hide his unprofessional arrogant and hostile behavior. I wish I could have read the following review before going there! I am so sorry the Boswell 's went through that. Joshua Boswell 9 months ago We recently got our 8 week old lab puppy in January and she had no previous shots. My wife called and asked how much it would be to get her puppy shots and the receptionist told us that the regular price would be something outrageously high. However, if we did the "Puppy Package" we would end up saving over $100 and our puppy would be covered for a year. The puppy package included all of her health needs, nail trimming, and seemed on the outside like a great $250 option (sarcasm). I should have known that this was going to be the first scam. Upon arriving there was no other customers there with their pets which seemed odd. We didn't think much of it since the receptionist was friendly and went back to the exam room to wait for Dr. Boley. Dr. Boley talked to my wife and I, both of us having prior experience with animals, like we were complete novices with our puppy. This upset my wife and I greatly, but we simply thought he was overly concerned for our puppy's health and well-being. We returned after four weeks for her second round of puppy shots and were told we had to pay an additional $50 for heart-worming medication that we believed was encompassed in the ever so glamorous Puppy Package. He continually pushed us to purchase dental needs even though she was only 12 weeks old and has exceptionally healthy teeth. We declined and returned four weeks later for her third, and apparently last visit (so much for a year of coverage). My wife went by herself for this appointment since I was at work and the vet tech pushed her to buy yet another service which she declined. My wife also mentioned to the vet that she wanted to find a calming agent for our puppy since she is a little high-spirited and the vet talked down to her like she was a moron with intentions to mistreat our dog. Dr. Boley and his staff look at the animals they are charged to take care of as meager dollar signs. Time and time again he pushed pet insurance, dental packages, and obedience training on us all of which we declined. After we would decline these services we were given the cold shoulder and quickly dismissed from our appointment. We were foolish enough the bring our cat in for her annual booster shots and they wanted to give her blood work and put her to sleep for a simple shot. We declined all of this and left, instead going to the Bijou Animal Hospital. I beg you, for the sake of your animals and your bank accounts, please do not frequent this business. After much research by my wife and myself we've decided to take all of our pets to Bijou Animal Hospital where Dr. Colvin legitimately cares for our pets and the prices are unbeatable. They've even performed services we didn't request for free just because it was beneficial for our pets. Screw AHCS, go BAH. Here is another one! We just moved from this area, and we are ruined for life. I don't think we will ever find a vet we liked as much as Dr. Rathjen. She took exellent care of both of your dogs, especially when one needed surgery. She brought my best friend from his deathbed, to right back to his bouncy, ball-chasing, face licking self! They never attempted to push us towards the more expensive options, so when they encouraged us towards anything specific, we knew that it was truly the best option for our dogs. To sum up, we lived in the neighborhood, and if we went for a walk past the building, the dogs would pull on their leashes wanting to go in and say hi to their friends!

This place is wonderful! I was trying to get dog in for a dental on post but they told me it would be two months. I looked around and found that the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs was the best option. When we first took our dog in the staff there were very polite and had no problem answering any and all questions we had. They were able to get our dog in for a dental within a week. My poor pup Copper had to have a TPLO performed and Dr. Boley was his surgeon. From the first day we came in, we have always been greeted with smiles and Copper loves the nurses. Dr. Boley did a great job on Copper's surgery. He is up and running and acting like a puppy again. He had his TPLO surgery about two or three months ago and he is completely healed. I would recommend Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs to everyone!

AVOID. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. My little Border Collie had been bit by a Brown recluse spider. I brought her in FRANTIC. Did they get even a VET TECH to look at her briefly to help my peace of mind? NO. They were MORE interested in getting ALL of my financial information (Urgent Care office visit of $79) before they did anything. And then they put me in a room and I waited and waited and they kept coming in and saying, "One more minute, one more minute." Twenty minutes later, freaked out, I opened the door and said, "I don't freak out like this. She needs to see someone RIGHT NOW." I went back into the room. NOTHING. I grabbed Maddie, walked out into the lobby and said, "THIS is why you have such a LOUSY reputation on the internet!" NO military discount, and MONEY seems to be their TOP priority. So even though this place is TWO MINUTES from my house? I will ALWAYS take my kids to BROWNS. I took Maddie to Browns: $49 for visit AND meds. The original owner (once Columbine Animal Clinic) would be ASHAMED of what his hospital has become. YOU DO NOT EXIST TO MAKE MONEY. YOU EXIST TO CARE FOR ANIMALS AND TODAY? YOU FAILED.

The crew at the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs has taken care of my 7 year old chocolate lab her whole life. I've called the staff on weekends, emergencies, and for routine appointments and their response has been fabulous! Not only do I use the animal hospital for medical care, but for boarding and grooming too. The pricing is fair and the care is outstanding!

Animal Hospital worked with our schedule (busy summer) and we calendared an appointment within a week for our two "pups". Our fur baby of 11 years had just traveled with us from HI and we wanted to find him another doctor, get a quick assessment of him post travel and acclimation to his new environment. Our senior rescue just joined our family and we also wanted to get him a look over. Bonus that it is near our home. Access is easy with lots of parking. The technician (Sheila) was friendly and caring, assessed our needs quickly. Dr. Davenport was also friendly and proficient. It was a great experience...would highly recommend Animal Hospital.

Took my dog tank in for an eye infection and they got me right in. They were very clean, thorough and friendly. Vet has a great sense of humor and tank was comfortable with him. Decent price as well.

The techs and doctors are very caring and knowledgeable about their work. Dr. Muelhaupt has done an incredible job with taking care of my dogs, especially with my mini poodle, who at first had unexplained seizures. The doctors were amazing at working towards his diagnosis. For the ones who say this facility is “all about the money” obviously does not live in this century. Any veterinarian you go to today are roughly the same price with the exception of specialy tests and ER visits. This is why you should have pet insurance if that’s the case. Keep up the amazing work!

We absolutely love this place. They are all very caring and take the time to get to know your pet. Dr. Mitchell was our vet for 5 years and was wonderful. She is very caring and compassionate. She always knew our pets and their needs. We had complete trust in her and knew that she would do what was best for our pets. We did not feel like just another patient to them. I would recommend them to any friends or family.

I called late last night less than an hour before closing. Explained what was going on with my dog. We were able to get in and had treatment shortly after arriving. The price we paid was so much less than what we would have if I had going to the vet er. We are changing over to this clinic from no on.

My husband and I have been taking our cat and dog here for the last few years and are very happy with this practice. Dr. Boley provided excellent and thorough care to our kitty when he was seriously ill with kidney failure and stones. Our questions are always answered and we are never left in the dark about our pet's care. I see the receptionist Tyler monthly when I come in to pick up my kitty's prescription food/order his medication. She is consistently helpful and warm.

I cannot say enough how thankful we are for Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. The last few months have been difficult being a pet owner -between my cat getting a degloving injury and my other cat having a severe uti situation (that we are still working out) I just had to hop on here and say if you are looking for a vet - these are the people. They do their best to keep you calm during emotional times of high stress all while giving the best possible care to your pets. I would give ten billion stars if I could :)

So grateful to everyone at Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs for all the loving care they have given my kitties. Dr. Rathmell has been my vet since 2005 and since my kitties have aged, she has been beyond helpful with all of their complex medical issues including diabetes, IBD/lymphoma, and hyperthyroidism. She and the rest of the staff there really do care about my kitties and keeping them healthy and happy. I have never met Dr. Dan but he has been amazing too calling with test results and treatment plans for my cats when Dr. Rathmell was out.
