Great care by Dr. Prior @ CVS . Most staff very warm, friendly & knowledgeable. Only complaint I have is the pricing of tests & procedures !! Sometimes as much as 3 Xs higher than other facilities! PLEASE REDUCE UR PRICING ESPECIALLY 4 THOSE IN NEED !!!!

We’ve brought 2 of our dogs here for emergency service and always have received excellent care. Especially when we brought our last dog who was dying and we didn’t know it. They let us be with him in the back for hours to say our goodbyes. RIP Woody!

Took my dog here because Thrive didn't have any open appointments for this week! The service was good, but it took too long. The vet was kind and caring. The place is very posh, too pricey but maybe some ppl can afford their services. The good thing is that it's open 24 hrs. However, I only recommend this place if it REALLY is an emergency. If your pet can be seen by the vet you take him/her too, then wait.

This was one of the best experiences we have ever had with our pet-Floyd. While on vacation, we had an emergency situation and from the moment we walked in the door until we left, we were treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. The doctor and the staff were the best. Highly recommend!!

There is so much to share with my feelings about how all the wonderful doctors, techs and staff at CVS Murrieta saved my Newfoundland dog Nani's life. They are truly God sent. My Nani was so very sick with Aspiration Pneumonia she acquired from emergency surgery at Butterfield Animal Hospital in Temecula, CA. The doctor who performed her surgery, Dr. Fox, at Butterfield Animal Hospital did NOT "catch" the fact that she had aspirated from surgery and it eventually developed into Aspiration Pneumonia!! They did not acknowledge it at ALL and up until the end, on the last day I came to plead for help at Butterfield Animal Hospital, as Nani lay there breathing 70 respirations per minute, not ONCE did Dr. Fox recheck/listen to her lungs. I was NOT told by Dr. Fox of Butterfield Animal Hospital to go to CVS Murrieta CA; he wanted to refer me to CVS San Marcos CA almost 65+ miles away versus locally but I questioned "why?" Dr. Fox said "CVS Murrieta doesn't have "enough" specialty doctors on hand to treat what Nani might have and I believe it's cancer or auto-immune, and the initial cost to diagnose and treat her at CVS Murrieta would be a lot more than the 2500.00 care credit you have, you can go, but I don't recommend there. Without sufficient money it may be wise to put her down soon and not suffer." What?! As I walked out of Butterfield Animal Hospital feeling hopeless I was NOT going to take Dr. Fox's word about cancer or auto-immune or putting Nani DOWN! My God, Nani was a perfectly healthy dog for 6 years before surgery and Butterfield Animal Hospital letting Pneumonia happen! I am glad I went with my gut instinct and chose CVS Murrieta CA. Not enough specialists there to diagnose and treat her? Is Dr. Fox at Butterfield Animal Hospital kidding! A doctor at CVS Murrieta diagnosed her immediately! As soon as I pulled up to CVS Murrieta CA with my Newfoundland dog Nani, they took her right in. They took me to a room and I only waited a few minutes before Dr. Helfrich came in and discussed what he immediately thought was respiratory/pneumonia by the crackling sound in her lungs, and the rapid breathing through her nose, her elevated temp. They gave me 3 free xrays because they said Butterfield Animal Hospitals x-rays DID show white fluid filled areas but they needed to take more conclusive ones than Butterfield Hospital took. Dr. Helfrich came back with results(which he said he showed Doctors at CVS Carlsbad for 2nd confirmation) and they clearly showed Aspiration Pneumonia which was caused from her emergency surgery, at Butterfield Animal Hospital. Dr.Helfrich at CVS Murrieta was very thorough at explaining AND showing me the x-rays taken, after being hopeless with Butterfield Hospitals' Dr. Fox's diagnosis of "mild aging in the lungs, cancer or auto-immune disease. They took blood tests immediately too which indicated pneumonia, from aspirating. Nani had to be hospitalized immediately. Every doctor I spoke to at CVS Murrieta was so compassionate towards me. Dr. Helfrich, Dr. Schultz, Dr. Lair, Dr. Hoggan, Dr. Hwe. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to them for knowing what to do and saving her life while hospitalized and everything they did to save her. I am so thankful and grateful to CVS Murrieta CA for being there for Nani. Thank God for my daughters care credit to cover. As sick as Nani was by then, and the fact that Butterfield Animal Hospital, in Temecula CA had let it go that far; without CVS Murrieta and their care, my Nani would have died. I am truly truly grateful because I would have lost my best friend Nani. I write this making it clear the Hospital names, because make no mistake, CVS Murrieta saved Nani, Butterfield Animal Hospital did not, it was "caused" there. The team at CVS Murrieta is wonderfully skilled at saving life. MY Nani's life. Compassionate and re-assuring to an owner who is feeling hopeless; NOT like I was treated in the end by Dr. Fox at Butterfield Animal Hospital. Thank you from my heart to everyone at CVS Murrieta. I cherish Nani everyday.

Great professionals work here. My dog received great service; fast, curious and effective. Staff is very friendly and empathetic. If you have any emergencies with your pet please take them here, they will be well taken care of.

Our experience here tonight was amazing. The tech talked to my cat very nice and kept teller her how pretty she was and made her comfortable before examining her. They were extremely fast and professional and considering it was 10 PM pretty reasonably priced . We will use this office again if the need should ever arise again.

This was my first experience and I was very impressed with their triage process. My pet was having difficulty breathing upon us arriving to the facility. We were taken right in. Later, another owner brought in a seriously injured pet and the entire staff tended to it. It was great to see people that care so much. Our fur kids deserve the best and while you do pay for the ER services, I felt they gave me options and advice to make the best decision for my little man.

I have taken my babies here numerous times for emergencies after hours since our regular vet was closed and all was great, but I never questioned a bill that I got, I just pulled out my credit card & paid. This time, I did not have all of the money and tole them I would have it the next day, but they would not treat my dog until they had the money first. I was very upset and very angry, I felt that my dog could not wait, she had been bitten by a rattlesnake. It took me 4-5 hours, but I got it, then they started treatment, so don't know what to say really on this, but they should have a payment plan, they do not. I thought they would let her die if I did not have the cash on hand NOW

Just Dogs

I am absolutely convinced that CVS purposefully misdiagnosed our dog. A couple days before, our dog was fine. On the day of the visit, we noticed that she was acting strangely. Just not her snappy self. Mildly lethargic. These kinds of things you just know. We kept an eye on her and when she didn't snap out of it, we drove forty minutes to Murrieta, in the middle of the night, because it was the only 24-hour animal hospital available. When we got there, we sat in a waiting room for an hour, even though no one else was there but one other person. When we were finally seen, the nurse checked her vitals, asked some questions, and left us for another half hour or so. Our dog is lying down and kind of out of it but not really in any kind of distress, except for not feeling well. After what seemed like forever, a doctor came in who asked more questions and brought up the issue of parvo. Then a nurse came in, gathered a rectal sample for the parvo test, and they both left. Then another half hour later (this is about two hours that we have been here), the doctor comes in and says our dog has parvo. She suggested hospitalization but we couldn't afford it. She then suggested outpatient. They SQ'd her (water under the skin for hydration), and said they gave her some antibiotics and anti-nausea medication. The bill was almost $400. What they didn't know is that she had a urinary tract infection. And while I can't prove it, I do not believe she tested positivefor parvo. She drank, she walked and ran, she slept, she didn't vomit or exhibit diarrhea. She didn't show a single sign of having parvo. Not one. Dehydration for parvo is the main issue, so we went to a local vet and bought SQ fluid. Even that was expensive: you can get a single bag for $10. The vet charged $102 for three bags, and our dog wasn't even examined. While there she also got an antibiotics shot intended to last for two weeks. Within two days of that shot, our dog was fine. Her genitals we no longer pink, were not smelling, and she was back to normal. It took her a couple days to get her appetite back, but it was only after she got the antibiotics injection that improvement began. Not once did our dog exhibit signs of parvo. Every classic sign of the disease was absent. I am absolutely convinced that a diagnosis of parvo was given in an effort to have her hospitalized. When we said we wouldn't be able to afford that, they put water in her back (less than a third of a $10 sac) for $400. We should have read the reviews. Now I can't positively say that she didn't have parvo. I'm going to get a test myself and check to see if she has it (it's only been a day that she has her old self, so I'm guessing she will still test as positive if she ever had parvo in the first place, since parvo doesn't disappear in a matter of a couple days). Something in my gut tells me that her illness was her tract infection, and not parvo. And when she got that two-week antibiotic, it cleared up and she was fine. And it doesn't say much for these people that when they examined her, they didn't realize that she had a urinalysis tract infection. I knew she had one just by the smell when I scratched her belly. Use these people at your own risk. Ask to see all documentation and be present for all testing. I bet they don't allow you to. Why? Because they are ripping you off.

My Baby girl Arrow hurt her back, I brought her to VCA because they have been so great to us . They took her in right away and helped her. The staff is always professional and kind.

Andrea Matthews

The techs we're really nice and I have nothing against them but I wasn't to please with the doctor. She was very monotone and didn't make me feel very good about the dogs illness. I was pleased they did give him the right medication instead of what the previous vet I visited did.

Erin Wilson

They are truly caring!!! We brought our cat in to possibly rescue him. We were too late. Each and everyone there was so supportive of our situation. Definitely will my other pets here. Thank you so much VCA, your kindness and assistance at such an emotional time is truly appreciated.

ashley sincosky

Love Dr. Prior. Traveled 2 hours to take my baby to see her. Will definitely make the drive again.

cheri godina

I called because I was referred by the animal hospital on Cal Oaks. They were closing. So I spoke to a girl on the phone briefly at this emergency location and told her I was so concerned about my dog and she cut me off and just started telling me costs! She didn’t even listen to what I had to say or let me tell her what happened. I understand you might be busy and maybe understaffed but we have feelings and we are also distressed because our pet is ill. There was zero empathy and money is clearly all that mattered at the time. I’m not going to make any generalizations but this was my below average poor experience. I’ll NEVER step foot in this door. I’ll take my pet somewhere I feel that it’s more important than the dollar figure. Phone call 5/31/18 at 4:56 for 2 minutes.

They truly care for the animals under their care!

My dog Brandy 60 lb lab tore her CCL in her knee. Saturday evening we took her to Temecula first and it was a 2-hour wait and we would have had to wait in the car with her not knowing what was wrong or how much pain she was in. They recommended us going to VCA California Veterinary specialists they have a triage area and they will treat your dog with pain medication and make your dog comfortable while they wait to be seen. Thank God! We were there a long time from 7:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Dr. Kraft was wonderful as well as the staff. Thank you all for all your help!

Kim Weston

We brought our senior Scottie in yesterday afternoon for possible pain, legarthy, and shaking. We agreed to all testing, including an ultra sound that would identify any organ issues. We had a couple of calls from the attending Vet after we went home to wait (5 hours), and despite all the tests, everything was pretty inconclusive. She said, give an hour for paperwork, and she would be ready for discharge. We arrived, and waited another full hour to finally get her discharged. No one was communicating well within the staff, we signed in to pick her up, but for over a half hour, no one told the back staff we were there. We spent almost $900 for the day, and left with 2 pain pills and a precription was to be called in to our local CVS for a human pain pill. I just went to CVS at 10:30 on Sunday, no prescription was called in. I called the VCA, receptionist told me that the notes state that an attempt to call it in at 5:30 this morning resulted in the pharmacy was closed, and VCA will try again tomorrow. What Pharmacy is open on a Sun at 5:30?? How about repeating the attempt at a better hour?? I hope they call it in now, but was told that "it could take some time for it to be called in again". STAY AWAY FROM THIS EMERGENCY VET. They really looked confused and chaotic last night, I don't think they are well trained . UPDATE: Went to our regular vet 72 hrs. later, she still had a high fever (why didn't VCA treat that the night we took her in? She had symptoms). Now on antibiotics, she is much improved.

We were a walk in with a hurt kitten. Got us into a room as soon as possible as they were busy. Repeatedly thanked for our patience. When seen by the doctor, she sat down with us, listened to all of our concerns then gave us her thoughts and suggestions. Our kitten was treated with the utmost of care by everyone in the facility.

Bron Scott

No compassion at all horrible staff never I repeat NEVER go here unless you wanna be put in a cold room with blaring lights for about 3 1/2 hours before you even see the DR .... This place Sucks

Sergio Salcedo

They were very helpful in explaining everything that was wrong with my dog and explains all the opines to help even helped me fill out the paper work to get financial help to be able to get the procedure done

Jenn

Love this place. We travel from Jurupa Valley just to go there. The Ontario office is closer but we love this place better. Dr. Bennett truly cares and keeps it transparent. Only suggests what is really needed. She is a gem. Yes, get ready to pay because it is expensive but they only do what is necessary and no more.

Celine Carrion-Beltran

We took our cat Milkshake here - first time emergency for our fur baby so we were all scared and stressed - they are exceptional experts, compassionate, professional with top notch customer and pet service. I hope we don't ever have to visit them again, but would definitely recommend them or go back if needed. THANK YOU CVS

Loretta Wildermuth

We have been bringing our dogs here since 1999. They have wonderful, compassionate doctors who take the time to explain everything and an amazing staff that reflects their compassion. We have had visits where everything turned out okay, and sadly some where we left empty-handed. Either way we knew they had done their best for our fur babies and I will continue to bring my dogs here as long as we live in this area.

GK SoCal

We had an end-of-life situation with our 13 year old Springer Spaniel. We brought him on a Sunday to the CVS location in Murrieta. We could not be happier with their service. They brought our dog into the hospital on a gurney and we were taken to a room decorated like a living or family room at home. He was brought in on a soft blanket on a gurney which was lowered to eye level. He was peaceful to the end. Our other two past experiences were on metal exam tables. What a difference here! We cannot recommend this facility more highly. Thank you to the staff for treating us, and our pet, so well.

Judy Love

Dr Bennett and Staff are the best! Sadie couldn’t be in better hands!

Karim and Kathy Zahedi

I always find the veterinarians and staff to be very caring and interested in helping my sweet pets.

Susie Mabie

Phenomenal care and service. Compassionate. Was there with my dog bleeding into his belly. The outcome was sending my beloved dog to heaven. You would have it was their pet with the care we received

Kathy N

Awesome vets and staff! Took my kitty here in the middle of the night not knowing what was wrong with him. As soon as I walked throughout the door a tech asked me some questions about what was going on with him and then took him straight to the back to have the doctor examine him right away. The doctor came in the room right away and told me what was going on with my little guy. He was very knowable and I felt very comfortable leaving my baby with him and his staff. Even though I was very nervous leaving him overnight I know that he was in loving hands. I was told to call as many times as I liked to check up on him and I found it very comforting. My little guy is home safe and I know where I will be taking any of my pets for emergency care in the future but hopefully not the near future :)

Jay Shearer

They are all great there. Very caring and sensitive to my and my dogs needs

Sirenia Cruz

Such rip offs paid almost $1000 just for X-ray supposed blood work cleaning up ears that were scabbed due to flies picking on our poor dogs ears $1000 for the doctor to tell me my dog needed surgery and that it was gonna cost $6000 if everything went well... I’m so disappointed and discussed with this place I seriously cannot believe how the take advantage of people who love their pets and they know that! They use that as leverage! She even went as far as saying if you cannot afford the surgery we will have to consider a sadder alternative for your dog. What??!!! Wow I’ll never ever go there again or refer people there! The young lady heather in the front was a doll she was super nice and handled everything very professional. Prices were outrageous!

It was unfortunate why we had to visit Memorial Day, but with the already hard decision weighing heavily on our minds, emotional, and being the first time we as a family where going through this experience, it was probably about as good as it could have been. CVS was very professional and very compassionate towards both our Pork Chop's and my family's needs. On behalf of my family, myself and our Pork Chop (R.I.P), a million thanks. It's never easy making that decision, especially after having your family addition for 15 years. We truly loved him and will continue to do so.

Bree Cadena

Although the circumstances for my visit to VCA were less than ideal, I was pleasantly surprised by the staff and facility. It was run professionally, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The doctor I saw was the warmest I’ve ever met. I did have to wait for some time, but my emergency was far less severe than many that came in after me, so I understood that those animals would take priority. I hope I’m not in a position to need their services again, but I wouldn’t hesitate to return if a situation arises.

Frank Sarah

We had a great experience with CVS. We just had a second TPLO surgery on our Sable Shepherd and we are very happy with the surgeon and staff. They are very polite, courteous, and very professional when talking to us.

Jane Staudenmayer

I have nothing but praise for the kindness, efficiency and care my Golden & I received at this wonderful facility. The staff, Dr. Flood and Dr. Bennett were incredibly knowledgeable. Additionally, the doctors both provided telephone followup on several occasions, demonstrating their thoroughness and professionalism. I would not hesitate recommending this wonderful service.

Kim Carter

Our little puppy was a transfer from our primary vet on an IV for dehydration, anemia, hypoglycemia after being sick with a stomach virus. They immediately had a tech come out to get him. It was a busy night but they kept me updated. He stayed overnight and came home so much better! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Def good to know they r there in an emergency.

Sivert Nelson

The staff is amazing. We had to do the worst thing, put Ginger to sleep Easter Sunday morning. Staff treated us like we the only ones in the ER. Today we got a beautiful card in the mail with her paw print. Thank you one and all. Your caring meant the world to us!! Sivert and April Nelson

rita Woolf

Tess had an emergency that required surgery. Within moments of arriving at CVS, she was taken for evaluation and placed in their triage system. Staff was both efficient and kind in handling our case. I recommend their service highly for any pet emergency.

Custom Trained

My dog was bit by another dog in her head and was in shock, we didn't think she would survive. They nursed her back to health, very caring staff. Highly recommend.

Nancy Green

The Doctors, staff and front office personnel are professionals all the way and I feel my furry son, Jamie, is in good hands. There was some misunderstanding between Jamie's doctor and I at first, but I was impressed that he reached out to me and really listened to my problems, and everything was worked out to the doctor's and my satisfaction. Jamie's care is progressing smoothly and my husband and I are beginning to relax some as his care becomes routine. Jamie would not be here now if it weren't for California Veterinary Services.

Ruby Ingle

VCA provided great care for my puppy! I know if I have to go to VCA my puppy is in great hands with the vets that work there.

Nancy Risen

The medical capabilities are second to none. We have been there for more than our share of critical care and each has resulted in the best of medical technology possible. I have California Veterinary Specialists of speed dial.

Mark Todd

Extremely impressed and happy with this place. Costs were reasonable, staff professional and the medical staff caring and compassionate. Dr Melissa Ackley was superb and set my mind at ease. My pup is still recovering from some stomach issues, but at least I know if there is ever another emergency issue, I can take my girl here.

Mike DiCintio

These guys sucked, after they get paid! Avoid them at all costs! Nice and all but after the check was cashed, they forgot all about me and my furry boy. I hope they fold and turn back into a furniture store! At least they would be more useful....

Debra Smith

I have used CVS many times in the last decade - for emergencies and oncology. I'm thankful they are there 24 hours as I've needed emergency services in the middle of the night more than once. I have also recommended them on numerous occasions. Caring, compassionate, and competent staff and doctors. The oncology department of doctors and technicians is top notch. They know canine cancer and truly make an effort to get to know you and build a relationship - Dr. Fitzpatrick, Maggie, and Maureen - thank you for taking such good care of our dogs. People complain about price. There is no such thing as a cheap vet. Only an honest vet. Any vet will give you a list of medical recommendations. It's up to you to decide what you are willing to pay for. No different than a human emergency room - going to cost more. I'm just thankful they are there when our family has needed them.

Linda Roberts

This is the very best place to go when your pet has an emergency. It is clean, the staff are professional and friendly and the doctors are compassionate. Everything they do is to ensure you furry friend is in the best care possible. Unfortunately I have been there many times with two different dogs. Yes, it is expensive but the best in my humble opinion. Thank you to all that diagnosed and cared for my two Bichons!

Evelyn Clayton

We brought our precious little dog, Bailey, in to CVS because she was in distress. The professionals there determined that she needed immediate surgery. The surgeon found Bailey had multiple gall stones in her gall bladder and he performed the surgery with Bailey possibly facing a 50-50 chance of survival. She came out of the surgery with a 90-10 chance of survival. She is at home with us now, and although she faces weeks of care, she is still with us , thanks to to surgeon, doctors, techs, and front office staff at CVS. Thank you for letting us keep our Bailey in our life.

TARI PERREN

Our dog has cancer. We been going there for close to a year. The staff at the desk our very nice. Our dog sees dr. Fitzpatrick. He is an amazing doctor with alot of compassion and cares about his patients. His staff are also compassionate and caring girls. Its important to have compassion for the parents and animals when going through this traumatic time with your baby. We are thankful we have Dr. Fitzpatrick and his team Maggie and Maureen and the other girls taking good care of our baby girl. Thank you all

Gail S. McFarland

My cat very ill. It was early evening on a Saturday. They took Sam to the back almost immediately & me to a room. In a short amount of time vet was there for a consult and asst/tech followed her with procedure/cost list They promptly performed approved those I could afford. The doctor was very kind and administered 1 gratis. While waiting I saw approx 5 pets come in with variety of injuries ...snake bite , unknown limp , major eye problem, foxtail in throat, even poor Blueberry being euthanized. All people and pets we're treated kindly & quickly. Sans one woman who said that it had been awhile I'm quite pleased with the staff & facilities

I am surprised to see so many negative reviews about CVS here. I am very glad I did not see them prior to taking my Zeus there as I might have done him a disservice. Everyone working was outstanding in a very difficult decision making time for me. I knew in my mind it was time for Zeus to cross the Rainbow Bridge, but not in my heart, and I never felt pressure to make the decision then and there. I was offered several solutions and elected to attempt to take him home and see my regular vet the next morning. I was sent home with a detailed description of everything discussed and my regular vet was notified of the same. We unfortunately did not even make it in the house and had to return for his final moments. At one of the worst times in a pet/person relationship, I was shown compassion and kindness from everyone involved. We were taken to a comfortable room and Zeus was brought in on a gurney. We were presented with a framed paw print along with a poem, something I may not have if I had gone elsewhere. We were allowed all the time we needed to say our goodbyes both before and after. When I was inconsolable I received hugs from several staff members, who I believe were genuine in their concern. I could not have thought of a better place for such a horrible time. For those that complain about pricing, for an emergency clinic they are very reasonable. The exam which I believe is only $30 more than my regular vet is good for 24 hours in the event you need to return. I was not given other pricing because I was encouraged that the test would only confirm the diagnosis and would not make the matter better. That, is the opposite of as one person said, gouging. I was a desperate pet owner who could have been in the position of being vulnerable to spending copious amounts of money in hopes of having more time with my boy, but that was not only not how they operated, it was the opposite. Although I hope you never need their service, if you do I highly recommend them.

melissa pacheco

Just want to say Thank You to everyone at CVS. Last night was one of the hardest days for me and my family and they were so awesome

Joelle Sipes

These people are awesome. My cat BooBoo had to be put down and I was a wreck. They let me home him as long as I wanted to. The understood how hard it was for me and walked me through everything.

stacyqueen10

Excellent service and very professional staff. The best place to bring your pet in an emergency . Thank yo Dr. Carr and your caring staff.

Alana Turner

We have been taking both our dogs here for awhile. We value there opinion and we get more answers and solutions then we do at a regular vet. Cardiologist department takes great care of our dog that has congestive heart failure. We love them and highly recommend them if you ever need emergency care for your furbabies.

Steve Schultz

My dog Zeus was literally on his deathbed and VCA California veterinary specialists saved his life and I'm forever grateful. They were kind, compassionate, and keeped me informed at all times. Thanks Dr. Schultz for your excellent care!

Jay Nelson

All the employees are very helpful and the Dr's. are knowledgeable and trustworthy. They have all the equipment to do most things. If your pet has an emergency or just acting wierd bring them here. They will take care of it. My dog had a rare disease and they diagnosed it and put her on the path to health.

Alyssa Lavis

When our dog was suffering from pyometra, CVS stepped in and saved her life. They provided such wonderful care to our baby and we are so grateful. Thank you so much for everything!!

Robin Shepard

These guys really care about your pet. The vets here are highly accredited and very specialized, so you're getting an exceptional level of care. Yeah, the price isn't the same as your local general vet, but you're paying for a high level of expertise and 24 hour emergency care. I wouldn't chance it anywhere else in an emergency, or with a case that requires specialized diagnosis and care.

Denele Caster

I have taken 2 cats and my shepsky here and have received the most compassionate care. I had to put the 2 cats down ( at different times ), and they were so sweet to myself and my son. They sent us condolence cards with their paw prints on them afterwards. When my Shepsky badly injured his leg going through a window, we we're seen promptly. The only reason I didn't have his surgery there is because I didn't have transportation to pick him up the next day. My regular vet actually charged the same exact thing they would have for the surgery. I appreciate CVS for just existing. The 24 emergency care is so important. I've seen people complain about their prices, and to be honest I have been charged by a local vet ( before I got my regular one ) $350 just for the emergency visit alone. I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Leilani Sewell

I wish I could give ZERO stars! I took our GSP in for surgery (they were recommended by our vet as he was overbooked with surgeries that day) because she had a blockage in her stomach. $4400 later they said we could come get her. When I showed up they left me sitting in the lobby for over an hour and a half and literally 5 minutes after I was finally called up to pay they called me in the back to tell me my dog was dead. When I asked what happened they said that she had a heart issue and should have had a pacemaker, she was 10... TEN! And had never had any heart issues, because she had a heart murmur and went into cardiac arrest. They never mentioned a word about there being an issue, EVER. And our vet who has treated her for her entire life never said anything. Dr. Sholtz, who never introduced herself - I thought she was a vet tech, came in the room with a pathetic attempt to act like she was trying to cry to tell me my dog “all of the sudden” went into cardiac arrest and died. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! All they care about is the money.

Janice Wynn

We received excellent care and advice for a long time medical issue that our dog has.

FB R

Brought two of my dogs here Juvi & Lilly for emergencies on separate occasions.. They took really great care of them & kept us updated on their situation. The staff & Vets are super friendly. I'd strongly recommend taking your pet here they get the best care possible

Cynthia Calderon

Maxxx was taken care of by kind staff however upon discharge all info was not provided. My pup had a bad reaction to medication which told staff my pup was sensitive, info on discharge form incorrect and asked for return call which was told I would receive. Call never returned to correct the information. Also updated them w my new phone number and still they read me back my old number???? What?????

Rick Reese

Great care for Rex.

Thomas Thomson

Appt was lengthy, follow up calls by Dr was good.

My cat was dying, I waited too long to take him in, living in the extreme heat in the I.E. I just thought it was the heat, well it wasn't, he had an infection and both his lungs were full of fluid, I took him in to a very busy waiting area, nut once I informed them it was an emergency they took Devlin straight in, Dr Sodemeyer briefed me on what was needed and what I could expect, he required chest tubes to drain his lungs, he spent 3 days there, I did visit him daily, Dr Hoggan and Dr Anderson called me daily, it was very professional, oh yes, it was expensive. But when you get top level service in any thing it cost, here I got what I paid for, my best little buddy came home and is meowing at me as I right wanting his late night snack, I couldn't be happier. They saved us both

Ben Bodenmiller

Dr. Nicole Bennett and staff was great spending hours in person and on the phone with us explaining findings and options. Yes, it is very expensive but that was expected. To save money, go to your local vet for non-urgent issues.

Wow, after reading reviews that sound almost word for word exactly like our experience...not surprised. My dog was referred here for surgery. Not more diagnostics, surgery. My vet talked to the vet here on the phone who would handle her case, we brought in her X Rays, and they agreed before we arrived on what it was and how to treat: partial/complete obstruction. She needed surgery. So why we were taken in a room, told she needed more tests, which showed it was not an obstruction at all and probably viral, made me extremely uncomfortable with this new vet, made me question her competence, and when I questioned her and her NEW diagnosis, we were told, "some doctors are just wrong. Sometimes it just helps to get a second opinion." ....we had not come for that. We came 40 minutes for her to have surgery after she had suffered for days already with what we thought was a stomach virus.... So they tell us she needs to stay for fluids and some anti nausea medication over night, approx $1200 (and up to $1700 if needed) Get a call in the night by the vet Dr. Schulz all is great. Get a call in the morning by her new vet (shift change), she has an obstruction, she needs surgery. As I'm sure all you can imagine I was livid. I questioned this doctor how all of a sudden this obstruction could manifest again (it had been foam, something that could not just vanish)....this doctor was reading off a rehearsed script to protect Dr. Schulz's diagnosis. We elected to pick her up, drive her to our vet back in RIVERSIDE who could perform the surgery for us that day as he did not have 3 emergency surgeries to perform that day himself. I did not trust these people with my baby. I only left her in their care as I felt I had no options. I have medical training, the way Dr. Schulz talked over me at almost every turn and any question I had was unbelievable. She also was cocky about the new diagnosis which made me very uneasy. ...proved right. And the fact we had to pay for all of this, taking out a care credit card for it when we could have just paid our vet for what she needed in the first place is unbelievable. And when I questioned her she didn't show us anything. Our vet showed us the xrays, he walked us through it all. Part of why I tried to understand why she thought this. They also say you can call for an update when ever you want. But when I did I was told no information. Just the doctor was busy and they had no information. And that was the first and second time I called. (Leading to she had an obstruction)

Dr. Nicole Bennett, Angela and staff are and were outstanding!!!!! Dr. Bennett has literally done everything humanly possible to save our sweet Chelsea, who is 18 years old!! Dr. Bennett is not only extremely knowledgeable, but she is also extremely kind and compassionate!!! She never gives up on a fur baby, regardless of age or seriousness of the condition!! We truly love Dr, Bennett for everything she has done for our sweet Chelsea and us!!! Angela and the staff have also been extremely kind and helpful!! We can’t thank Dr. Bennett and staff enough for helping sweet Chelsea and us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacquelyn Thorp

When you take your animal to VCA it is because you have an emergency and emotions are running high. The staff remains calm. All of the doctors that I have experienced were knowledgeable and compassionate. We had 3 Boston Terriers. Sadly, we lost one there after he had been bitten by a rattlesnake but they saved the other one. We now have 2 Bostons and are very glad to know that in an emergency situation that they are there. We had to take our girl Boston in for a UTI recently. Did we spend more $ than we wanted? Did we spend more time than we wanted? Yes. But she is doing well today and we are grateful that VCA was there and open at 7:30 p.m.

I liked that the nurse knew stuff about rabbits, and took my pets symptoms seriously. I did not enjoy the catty, bitchy receptionist being aggressive with customers over the phone and talking smack about them continuously with the other girls when she got off. I wanted to fire her myself. Short, dark brown hair. Short white girl. Just awful.

Ryan M. Mc Kenzie

They provide quality care when we had to commute for lady radiation

treeezaaa

They were extremely caring and compassionate towards my 13 yo kitty. I was a wreck emotionally, and they were super patient with me. The original quote (over $850 total) included a $300 test that they couldn’t perform, but still tried to sell me on. They came back with a lower estimate of $350 for just the essentials. But what really got to me is that I saw another estimate under mine for $250. In my opinion, they hit you high and then give you an option of lower estimates if that’s too much. So money hungry, it actually takes away from how great the rest of the visit was. My kitty is doing much better and I’m very thankful, but ask them to see a second estimate when you go because they will have a handful with them when they enter the room.

Ken Jenkins

Had to take our lab in on Easter Sunday. The staff was great and took great care of our Gracie.

Alan Badillo

Unfortunately, they immediately charge you $500 to attend to your dog. They knew my dog was already dead yet they acted like they could help and hike up the bill. Service felt somewhat predatory after they requested to sign off a blank bill.

Antonio Yañez

Horrible service and prices

Tanya Edwards

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! This is a corporate owned business meaning they are looking for money money money- My beloved dog 2 years old otherwise healthy had hip dysplasia. Immediately they recommended surgery. My dog went in for surgery in November and due to complications and neglect I had to put my dog down in February....He got a serious infection which went to long therefore kept eating away at his muscles and nerves- surgery was done approx 5 times the end result leaving him with permanent nerve damage and severe pain. As a result of him not being able to use left leg his right leg which he was primarily using was shot. The only humane thing to do was put my dog down. The front desk girls are horrible with the ear phones on and no emotion at all- numbers people these people are owned by Mars Bar and always recommend surgery or any expensive surgery or treatment. When I had to put Blu down they were more concerned about payment and left him on a cold floor in the back with a MUZZLE! People working there went about business as usual stepping over my dog as I went through this horrible process. Not one one them gave condolences. This place is horrible and my dog died as a result of their negligence which they will not admit. I have heard from several people about the front desk staff and how costly they are. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did... please go to a hospital that is not corporate run.... I never got a call EVER giving condolences after all my dog had gone through with these people NOT 1 call from the surgeon that basically killed my dog..... I see all these positive reviews and I cringe.... Do not go here!!! I am now left with a 10,000. Bill and my dog who I loved is dead— I will be pursuing other avenues as well to get some kind of justice for what my dog went through as a result of this place!!!!!

Ben Richey

This vet is amazing. I unfortunately had to bring my pup of 13 years here to have to be put down. She had a severe stroke and was in decline. The staff here was very caring and understood what I was going through. Let me spend some time with her in their private rooms. Place is amazing in other facites as well and would recommend it for the care of your family.

John E

Take the time and look elsewhere. You will be happy you did ! I was given a quote reaching as high as 5200 dollars. I went somewhere else and paid 900. When I stated that 5200 just seemed out of the price range I expected, they suggested to open a credit card. And this was during the week at 10 am.

Darla Stack

The cardiologist and technician were wonderful and we did not even mind the long wait as Dr. was very busy, but the front desk receptionists needed to be more professional in their actions with each other and people in the waiting room. Talking about their personal issues.... Granted they were busy at times which is understandable, but the front office is where everything is noticed.

Russell MacKay

Had to put my cat down after he was attacked by a dog. The doctor and staff were very professional and compassionate.

Elina Diaz

This vet is nothing but money hungry and is willing to let your pets die if they don’t get there money. Won’t even do fluids until they get what they want. Our dog over the span of 2 days started acting really sick to the point she did not move or eat anything for hours. We took her in to find she had 13% blood volume. Just to get that information was almost $200. We were told she needed a blood transfusion, another test, medication, and an iv which came to $900. They refused to do anything unless they got there money. We asked for payment plans and would be willing to put half down as a down payment and they said no. The only way was too apply for a Care Credit. We called everyone we knew to gather the money. I had to lie about my income to try and get approved and finally I did. After the transfusion they charged us for X-rays and said she had something in her intestines. $800 added to scope it out later we find it is a penny. I was told by a friend that they could have just given her laxatives to poop it out. We were never told of this option. We either had to pay $800 for a scoping or $4000 for surgery. She had been there for over 24 hours by this time and they charge you $11 for each hour your animal is in their care. We will not be back. I rather drive an hour away to any other hospital then this one. They are not worth it.

kat lynn

They took good care of my dog but they over charge so much that it makes it difficult for hard working people trying to make ends meet at their mercy. DO NOT LIKE THIS. They take your money but if you have a refund coming they take their sweet time getting that money back to you. VERY UNCOOL!!! Will not go back there........

Toby Danylchuk

Took our Jack Russell in for a removal of a fox tail. Everyone nice, wait was not too long. But it's emergency only so you never know how wait times will be.

Kristi Yellott

Our puppy had a small cut and we came in saying that he needed a few stitches. It took over two hours for them to confirm that yes, he needed stitches. He was not in pain whatsoever, but they heavily drugged him to the point he could barely stand. After almost three hours, we left with a drugged up puppy, no stitches, and a $400 bill for minimal services. An additional bill of $1100 was quoted if we went forward with stitches, and they would have to sedate him, on top of the current dosage he was given. We went to a vet this morning, all services complete for $350 and most importantly, they cared for our sweet boy. I do not recommend this company!

Melissa Blanchette

Took my 4 month old Yorke in for an eye injury, they came out and took her in right away, after about 45 min the Dr came out and explained to me what they were doing, what he thought needed to happen, and reassured me that she would be ok. Everyone did a great job attending to her right away and helped me through everything going on. She is doing well and healing very nice. Thank you !

Marlene Schell

My Golden Retriever, Cassie, received great care, plus they loved on her a lot. We had to return every 4 hours, over night, for blood work, and Cassie eagerly went with the techs into the back room. She usually doesn't like to be separated from me, so I appreciated their friendliness towards her.

Dawnya Kilner

California Veterinary Specialists is an excellent emergency pet hospital. Yes they are expensive, but most emergency situations usually are. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable and the equipment is up to date. I would recommend choosing a primary vet elsewhere for regular non emergency care of your furry family member to save some money.

Lesa Gallagher

Professional staff, Clean facility and thank you for taking such good care of my Jazzy.

maria goldman

Professional and compassionate care for their patients. My Creme would not still be here today were it not for Dr. Sarit Dhupa. Kind people such as Michele Collier continue to help Creme have a great quality of Life.

CVS is a 5 STAR care center for your pet! CVS is not our normal veterinarian , but when our miniature Dachshund walked in the house from the backyard with a part of the fence sticking out of his front leg (a stick the size of chop stick), I knew I had to take him somewhere to have it removed. I know better than to pull any thing out of a human or animal that is a "puncture wound." As soon as I walked in, and before they even asked for my ID, a tech took my dog, requested permission to give him an injection for the pain, and disappeared with Oscar about 9:30 p.m. I didn't see him again until the next morning. Oscar needed to have the stick surgically removed. He came home with a bandage that looked like a cast. The next day, we received a phone call from our own vet, who had been notified by CVS about the accident and the surgical procedure. We also received a call from CVS asking about Oscar and how he was doing. Considering this was all over a holiday weekend, my wife and I were extremely impressed. I hope I never step foot back inside CVS, but if one of our three dogs ever has a medical emergency again I know exactly where I am going, and I don't even have to look them up. If you have to trust your pets to the hands and hearts of other people, look no further and trust CVS.

sonya malata

VCA is AWSOME! My dog who loves to run up and down the stairs skiped 4 steps one morning and hurt her foot. Her regular vet couldn't find what was hurting and recommended that I go to VCA for an x-ray. VCA found 2 broken toes and placed a splint on her leg and gave her pain medication. They are so attentive to the animals and the owners and the office is beautiful. My baby even received a pink sock with bling on it.

EILEEN AKA QUEEN

After taking my cat to my veterinarian and hearing that there was nothing else they could do for my baby we decided to take him to CVS where they basically saved his life ! He had kidney levels sky high and was battling kidney stones that were creating a blockage after speaking to a veterinarian specialist she completely put us at ease and gave us hope that he would make it if his levels stabilized and they did emergency surgery. On day 2 they brought his levels down and preformed surgery and he was stable and recovering, we are so thankful for the outstanding care they gave my baby and their complete professionalism all the staff were very attentive and we so very thankful to everyone at CVS ! They went over and above to take care of my baby . I will always be grateful... Thank you all .♥️

Tracy

I took my dog there 2 nights ago with acute gastroenteritis. He was there for 2 hours and the bill was already $2300.00 I left him there to get fluids and antibiotics and to be monitored. I called to check on him several hours later and the Vet told me she thought they may need to operate to see it he had a blockage. I asked the. Cost And They said someone would call me. Half and hour later I called back because no one had called and the estimate was $6600 to $9900. We did not want him cut open since they couldn't even tell us why there was such a hurry to do so. We decided to tell them to keep him stable and hydrated and we would come get him and take him to our family Vet. We picked him up in the AM . He spent one night with our Vet. They gave him fluids, Antibiotics And oral barium that they tracked through his digestive tract. We brought him home the next day feeling much better and at a cost of $306.00 and that included a case of special food. These people are disgusting. They pray on people that are in panic mode for their loving pet. They were willing to cut open my dog just to "see " what they could find. I Really wonder how may people have lost their pet or have had them put down because they can't afford the astronomical fees they charge . I get that they charge more than normal because of it being an emergency. But almost $10,000. For a guess. I honestly am disgusted by these people and will NEVER be back.

Elisabeth Clarke

I really appreciated the professionalism and how quickly they took care of our Big Brown. He had an allergic reaction to the weeds in the back yard after they were cut. Most horrifying experience and they fixed him

Lizette Arias

Only one person in particular stood out to me with their kindness but I’m rating them 1 star only because not only are they VERY pricey they were trying to sell me injections and medications my dog clearly did not need. I only came here because I was told it was the best place to go to by another veterinarian which I now feel I was set up. I felt like they had no interest in really finding out what is wrong with her, they just wanted to milk me for what they could and still I ended up leaving with no answers. They wanted to do an ultrasound and the consultation for that alone is 150 not including the 400 it would initially cost for the actual ultrasound. I am now going to AVL in Hemet that does not require a consultation they just charge 150 for the ultrasound. I just advise pet owners to please research and call around first. Some of these places really take you for all you’re worth.

Pat A

Even though CVS was very busy with several customers, they acknowledged and assisted me as soon as they could. I will definitely recommend them to others.

Michael Knox

We took our boxer here because she was having an allergic reaction. The staff here was so amazing and kind. They had her looked at right away. They were thorough and kept us updated the whole time. The hospital was very clean and everyone was so nice. It was such an easy experience. I highly recommended!!

Sarah Bazan

The whole team a CVS in Murrieta are very helpful/nice and professional! We have taken our pug and our boxers here. We highly recommended them for any emergency needs!!!

Pauline Troxell-Stannard

There is no doubt that they give excellent care. I just don’t know why it has to be more than double what your regular vet would charge. My dog had a c-section which resulted in two healthy pups, she was prescribed 75mgs of Tramadol for pain which can cause constipation or Diarrhea, my dog got horrible watery dark diarrhea. I dropped the dose to 25mg with the same response so stopped entirely and it cleared up in a day. She also wasn’t eating or drinking until I stopped the tramadol.

Lynn Sprouls

I had never been there before. My dog had an emergency situation and doctor sara was the kindest, mist compassionate and honest vet I have ever been to. I would recommend this veterinarian 100%.

Jesse Gentry

They are always helpful and courteous. Maggie the bet tech is awesome and my baby loves her. Dr. Fitzpatrick is caring and helpful. Overall the staff is wonderful. Not sure on the VCA purchase but CVS is great overall.

Paula Gray

The staff and doctors are professional. My dog had a very difficult growth. The prognosis is not good, but the vets explored every option to her care. Costs for dog care can be offset with pet insurance which I have on all 3 of my dogs.

Laurie Guajardo

These people are the most money hungry people i have ever come across, they are so heartless and told me about 6 times to put my 2 and a half healthy male cat to sleep. I refused to do so and my boy is doing just fine. This place is like a cult and I will never take my pet back to them not would I suggest anyone else to.

Julie .

Brought my bichon there to get treated for Cushings disease. Dr. Bennett and Dr. Prior were very professional and took time to explain everything that needed to be done to treat and monitor. My dog is also very anxious at the vet and they gave him a comfort blanket with calming pheromones which seemed to really help. The testing was no more expensive than my regular vet and they also said that there was a less expensive test they could do after he was stabilized to save me money. So far my experience has been excellent.

Marilyn Howard

Our dog family has been here many times over the years. Every visit has been an emotional time. I’m thankful for everyone’s kindness, compassion and diligence.

Rafaela Arteaga

Took my baby to this facility when he broke is leg..

T Karr

When your pet is diagnosed with a fatal illness that can't be resolved and you've paid four figures for this result, a curtesy euphemism should be included. That would show concern for your clients. Not too much to consider. I won't be back.

A Google User

Brought in my cat for a cardiology appointment. Doctor was on time, explained procedure and diagnosis very well, and my cat was treated very well during the visit. Clinic was very clean and set up nicely so that pets have some degree of privacy and comfort while there.

Marsi Rackstraw

I am very grateful for the excellent service my monster Vinnie ( American Shorthair cat) received yesterday. I want to especially thank Monica because she was the reason we ended up going there. I do not know her personally but we have a mutual friend who recommended that I text her with my concerns. She responded to my text message very promptly and with very good advice. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner so to speak. She is an asset to your company and I’m So glad our mutual friend recommended I consult her. The treatment and attention we received there was top notch and very reasonable. I would highly recommend CVS for any emergency vet situations and I will continue to use them in the future should the need arise. Thank you guys for taking good care of Vinnie and for understanding my need to hurry out due to other personal issues I had going on yesterday.

Denyse Moose

The staff is friendly and the doctors are awesome but I feel the system itself there is flawed. The wait is long but that is expected at an animal hospital for emergency services. This in itself is not my complaint. This was my experience: I took my 11y female Yorkie in with general malaise and diarrhea around 7:45p. We left after 1:30a with a diagnosis of a liver mass and a bill for bloodwork and an X-ray. I was told by the doctor surgery was necessary asap. I wanted to set something up right then and there so I stayed back from an annual family trip. I was told I needed a referral from my veterinarian. When I called my veterinarian clinic I was told they are an “open referral” clinic meaning no official referral required and CVS should have known that. I saw my own veterinarian and was instructed to go back to CVS to set up the surgery and she would call them. It was a mess, the girl up front at CVS wanted to give me a surgery consult in 30 days, when I tried to explain what I was told by her doctors and mine she became irritated. I asked to speak with someone else and had to sign in as an emergency visit to see a doctor. The process was a little quicker thank heavens but in order to get my puppy girl in for an ultrasound I had to leave her overnight because at 5:30p the tech was gone for the day or I could come back the next day as another emergency visit. I had to leave her just to insure she got the ultrasound. $1300 for an overnight stay to get a $500 ultrasound. The system is flawed! Why isn’t a tech scheduled to work after 5:00p for emergency walk-ins. It would save the expense of unnecessary overnight stays. A cat scan (CT) was ordered after a discussion of the ultrasound. I was told to bring my puppy girl in at 9:00a but when I got there it was a drop off. No one discussed a drop off or that it might take all day. The communication is flawed! Another $1800 and we haven’t even gotten to a surgery consult or surgery. It’s not that I object to the diagnostics, I object to extra unnecessary expenditures and a lack of communication which is coming from the staff. The doctors are very clear in their explanations then hand everything off to the office staff which is a hit or miss. All I want is consistency in the care and explanations.

My Great Dane, Duke, has really decided to go through it all this year. He had an anaphylactic shock reaction to a bee sting in January, causing me to call CVS in hysterics early on a Sunday morning. They handled it all so well and kept me updated about how well he was doing. Then there was the hematoma in his right ear. We took him there, and it was drained so he was comfortable until he could go to his regular veterinary team. It did unfortunately refill, so we did have to go longer with medical management but he is fully recovered from that. Leading us to this past Saturday, where Duke had an unfortunate encounter with a snake. Luckily it was either a dry bite or a non-venomous snake and he actually got bit by something else that caused his blood to show that he was bit by something venomous. Let me tell you, they were slammed. They had back to back emergencies come in. I watched them cycle through a UTI, a birth, helped families say good bye to their pets, and of course my boy with his snake bite. The staff never stopped handling every situation with grace, care, compassion, and understanding. That is why I’ve taken my dog back three times. That is why I continue to go to CVS. I know the staff there cares about Duke. I know that they want every patient to go home and that they’re willing to sacrifice their own time, patience, health, and well-being to make sure our pets get the best treatment every time. This staff is amazing, trust me.

Hayley Albertazzie

We had an absolutely great experience at CVS during a very stressful time! They immediately took our dog Brandy back and shortly after the doctor was speaking with us and had a diagnosis. We kept her there but were able to take her home in the evening. When we left her there they allowed us to go back and see her. It was interesting to be behind the scenes! The staff was busy caring for and loving on all the animals back there. It was beautiful and I knew she was going to be very well cared for! This is my second experience with them, both times truly amazing! Thank you and Brandy is doing much better and we are hoping in another day or two she’ll be back to her old self!

Kathryn Velez

They've seen my pup several times (as he suffers from seizures)and every single time, they've been very nice and professional. On April 16th I had to take him back in because he had 5 seizures that day and his own vet (elsewhere) couldn't see him. As soon as we arrived to the hospital, the lady in the front acknowledged us, ask what she could help us with, and had someone come from the back office to take my baby inside and evaluate him. We didn't have to wait around to be seen like other places I've heard of. Then when the painful time came to make the toughest decision of my life, the Dr was really caring and everything she told us was sincere and heart felt. Thank you so much for caring for Brownie in his last moments and for making that horrible time in our lives, somewhat bearable. The staff and Dr.Drayton are compassionate and empathetic. I hope I never have the need to go back for my other fur babies care, but if I had to, I would definitely take them there with no hesitation. Highly recommend California Veterinary Specialists in Murietta.

Eden Douglas

SO GRATEFUL for a place like this that is open 24/7! It's Memorial day and they were able to see and treat my dog for an eye injury all in the same day. I expected to pay a hefty amount since they are an "Emergency Vet" but was quite surprised when the bill was LESS than what our regular vet charged(we had a similar procedure done a few months prior.). Hopefully we never have to go back to them with another emergency, but overall they were amazing!

Charity Deschaine

My Pomeranian has been to both Carlsbad and Murrieta CVS locations. Both have stellar staff that are extremely organized, experienced, efficient, and empathetic. I wish they also provided preventative care as I would definately take her there for all needs if so. Thankful for the angels working at these locations.

Nicole Cammall

I brought my dog in care. The place was clean and made you feel comfortable. The night that I was there it was very busy, but they checked on us and made sure we were doing okay.

ashley patrice

Everyone is very friendly! Hospitality at its best!

llamamama777 .

The most amazing staff and doctors. Our beloved fur baby went there because of her cancer in her lymph nodes and one lung. They did everything possible for her. When she passed, the doctor cried too. When er had her put down, they let us turn the lights down, light a candle and play soft music in the quiet room while we cradled her in our arms on the couch. It was the hardest day of my life, but everyone was so genuine and caring.

Cecilia Burch

Excellent, caring staff. We showed up a little after midnight with our very sick cat. They immediately tried to revive him, were not successful. The vet on duty spent some time with us explaining what happened and why it was so sudden. (congestive heart failure) . They wrapped him up and we were able to spend time with him in a private room. We opted to take him home to bury him so they wrapped him for burial with flowers. It was a truly amazing experience and a lovely way to say goodbye. Everyone was knowledgeable and compassionate. I highly recommend taking your pet here.

Kim Lemaire

The staff made me feel like they truly cared. It was a very busy day and they tried their best to make everyone feel better.

Gregory Roach

I brought my cat in yesterday who was attacked by a dog they wouldn't even clean out her wound without having an expensive bill coming for it I had to bring my cat home 5 hours later and begin picking out maggots from her wound after I was charged $232 just for that visit

Sol Love

I'm so thankful for this place. My dog was really sick it was on a Saturday no one wanted to see his without a appointment she was almost dying. I didn't have much money and they help me save her life . Thank you so much everyone with so wonderful here. Now after 2 weeks after her surgery she so full of life.

Kristy Romero

On Memorial Day at 4:30am we had our elderly dog attacked by a coyote that jumped our fence into our backyard. We rushed her down to VCA knowing we had to have her put down. They handled the process with such care and compassion. Not even a week later to our surprise, received a very comforting but emotional letter in the mail. When I opened it I was shocked and was brought to tears. They were so thoughtful to have taken the time to make a paw print of our dog with a sweet note. Thank you so much for your dedication and love to people and their fur babies! Our dog is at peace now but we are thankful knowing that they are there for us when we need them for any of our animals at any time of the day or night.

Naida G-S

Am loving the care and commitment the CVA team in Murrieta have been giving my kitty, Miko, for cancer. Dr. Fitzpatrick and his assistants, especially Alexia and Maggie, have been awesome while treating her. Miko is the most high strung female I’ve ever owned, and they’ve been handling her well considering the fact she gives them a run for her money. Kudos to all the staff at the Murrieta CVA clinic!

MizzQuartz

My dog, Diamond, has never been able to go to the vet or groomers without it being a huge traumatic ordeal for her. She is very very skiddish and very weary of people and other dogs. I was worried about taking her here yesterday when we had an emergency. BUT I was so pleasantly surprised at how calm she was with these wonderful people at CVS! They were all so sweet to her and I'm so thankful to them for helping my dog. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

Jack Riley

Took my Bella in for a wound in her left leg that needed shaving, cleaning, possibly stitches, and a regiment of antibiotics. After an hour and a half which included a cursory examination by the vet tech; a discussion with the doctor who wanted xrays, blood tests, anesthesia, surgery; and an estimate for over $1600! I declined but did get some antibiotics for a total visit cost of $149. I purchased some wound wash and with the antibiotics Bella is healing well. The wound is almost closed and the only problem is not being able to shave the wound area for a more sanitary healing process. I feel that it was more about how big a bill can we generate off this visit, then just giving the basic emergency care Bella required. I was disappointed.

Everyone here was so nice, they got us checked in and seen super fast. Our English Bulldog was having an allergic reaction to something and has hives everywhere and her face was so swollen it didn't look like our puppy. They had a tech out within minutes of our arrival and took her back for an exam. Within 15-20 minutes we met with Dr Carr who was extremely nice, and we had a plan for our puppy. They had us leave her for two hours and gave us the estimate (which was not as nearly as much as I was expecting for a ER vet trip). From arrival to pick up or our Puppy they we're amazing and we will be using them in the future for an emergent needs!!

This is the second time I have had to use their services and the care they have is outstanding!! The first time we went it was late at night and the dog stayed about 24 hours, but she came out on the other side jumping and back to her old self. This time we were referred by my vet to oncology, Dr. Fitzpatrick specifically along with the trustworthy Maggie, what outstanding medical professionals they are! I have a CT today with the other dog, and we are in the hurry up and wait mode, but the professionalism they have has made it a little easier. All in all, using both sides, ER and now Oncology, this is great atmosphere for any animal in need and parents to feel better that they are receiving the best care possible!

We came here four times in the last week and I cannot believe how great this office is. The vets are so nice with our dog , the facility is so clean and spacious , the front desk people are amazing . The only persons name I remember is Dia but the rest of them were great too. We are definitely coming back here

This place killed my dog without my consent within 5 hours of my dog being there they didn’t even give me a call and ask what I wanted they didn’t give him a chance I wish I could give this place zero stars then when I was calling looking for him they kept telling me he wasn’t there but he was in their freezer the whole time I had to call corporate in New York and tell them I was going to sue them then the doctor got back to me and said oh yes we have your dog and gave me a big lie then I told them I was coming to see my dog and they tried to talk me out of coming to see my dead pup because they said he looked so bad but when i got there he looked perfectly fine besides the fact he was dead.

Great service. Specialty care is top notch. They made my dog feel special and right at home. Thank you so much!

Very disorganized, not attentive to what patient they are seeing, can't/won't answer any of your questions. Find a different emergency vet if possible. Our family dog had a blockage (Swallowed a toy) while my parents were out of town. First the staff would barely acknowledge me even though I was the one requesting care for our dog and my parents had contacted them to allow me to be on the dogs account. She ended up needing the blockage surgically removed, which we went ahead on, they sent her home with an antibiotic for skin infections AFTER A MAJOR INTESTINAL SURGERY. She proceeded to develop an infection and somewhere along her internal incision starting leaking bacteria into her abdomen. A different doctor was calling us every time we got an update. By update I mean a different doctor called us to say "We should take her back into surgery and look for the leak, if there even is one." The doctor could never answer any of our questions because they didn't have her chart in front of them or they hadn't seen her recently. Each time a doctor called they would say the exact opposite of what the doctor before them said, and couldn't even verify what other doctors had said. They only want to cut your pet open and take your money without even being able to tell you what is wrong in the first place.

They fixed the problem, but I thought that the original veterinarian was trying to run up the bill by testing and treating our cat for problems I did not bring him in for or care about. Our bill was $1,400 and there was no overnight stay. That would have cost at least $700 more. The overnight stay would not have cost that much, but they wanted to run a whole lot more test that were not really necessary for our needs. I have a feeling that our final bill would have been closer to $3,000 if we had left him overnight

Good care! Nice staff, slow checkout.

We've been several times with our dog that has a heart condition. All of the staff are welcoming, kind, and sensitive. Dr. Cole is our main contact and she also shows great sensitivity towards our dogs health and our feelings. Would recommend them highly.

Let me be the first to pop the bubble on bad service because I did a walk in and was taken care like I've been coming here for years. The friendliness the front desk gives is second to none, I was greeted by Ryan who was super awesome. My dog Coco had jumped possibly from a high area and injured her back. I was in line about three people ahead of me. It was maybe 10 mins until I was taken to the exam room. The Dr. Hoggan greeted us and impressed me soooo much by sitting on the floor while she determined what's wrong. Coco felt loved and safe around the Doc. I had forgotten to activate my credit card and told them my issue and without any frustration they gave me more options which my Wife paid over the phone. This place truly cares about all animals (including grumpy people) and do their best to make sure your experience is above and beyond. This was my experience!!!

Nancy Creighton

I am new to the area and was in a state of panic when my cat had an emergency. They provided great care and were exceptional at communicating with me about her care and providing me with updates. I would highly recommend them in an animal emergency.

Trina Davila

They saved my dog’s life! I’m so grateful! He is in the early stages of heart failure and they took great care of him. We get some more quality time together! Thank u!!

Dragon Z

Expect a long wait, and one gal at the front desk is not the nicest. But I gave 5 stars, cause the doctor/vet who helped my little one spoke to me one on one and appeared to genuinely care about the health of my dog. She was honest, kind, and wasn't in a hurry when explaining things to me.

Danielle Leonard

Not sure exactly why there are such bad reviews, mostly centered around price. I didn't find them to be all that expensive, and the staff and vet were very friendly and compassionate. My cat got ran over and it cost me $600 for x rays, ultrasound, pain meds, and their consultation fee. That doesn't really seem unreasonable to me for an emergency vet. Sure, it's more than your regular vet, but doesn't seem to be as bad as some of these reviews on here say it is. My cat seems to have gotten off lucky, no broken bones or major issues. Getting out of here with just a splint for now.

Angie Knobloch

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very clean and modern.

Rosemary Garcia

My Experience at VCA was the best, everybody that works here did everything in their power to save my precious Tiggy they went above and beyond. Unfortunately Tiggy didnt make it and not because they couldnt save him but because it was in Gods hands. Am truly grateful to have every single one of you who was involved with my baby Tiggy. Thank you for everything you do. God Bless

I took my Boston in on a Sunday due to his right eye being very cloudy. He had been into CVS in the past for Glaucoma issues. The vet went straight for glaucoma causes for the eye - pressure was 40 which is no a very high reading. They treated him all day with multiple eyedrops and an iv medication. I had to go out and locate a prescription for him that cost $148.00. The next morning I took him to his regular vet for a recheck and the moment he walked into the room he said - Rookie - you scratched your eye. He stained both of Rookie's eyes and he found injuries in both eyes under the black light. (his pressures were good). My vet said that seeing the discolor in his eye should have right away called for the staining the eye and looking for an injury/ulcer. All Rookie needed was the CVS vet to do a through exam and just stain his eyes and she would have seen it was an injury. Would have saved me time, worry and lots of $$$.

Dr’s & techs are friendly. The wait times are very long.

Dr. Sarah Hoggan is an angel from above. I had a tramadic emergency last Thursday night and ended up having to say goodbye to my best friend. Dr. Hoggan sat with me after he was gone, talked to me about everything I wanted to, and even shed tears with me. The staff here was the most compassionate group I've ever met. Although I hope to never have to go back, this is the only emergency vet I'll use in the future!

I found CVS to be a great emergency vet clinic. I brought my dog in for an allergic reaction. I did not know if it was something in the yard or a bee sting I did not see it happen I just saw swelling around her nose and hives and licking of her paws. They took her back immediately and assess her. Went forward with her treatment which was a steroid shot and Benadryl shot. Doctor Wee was very informative and kind and intelligent. The office staff was professional and welcoming. My total visit was reasonable always a concern when you go to an emergency vet. $95 for the office visit is there standard fee and total out the door was 188 for the shots. Very reasonable and worth every penny. The shots help Xena for the first 24 hours. I need to return for a recheck and a second shot. $50 is the office visit for a recheck and I was out the door for $88. The second shot seems to be doing trick and I will continue on with my regular vet is she develops any new symptoms. Thanks everyone at CVS

The staff was pretty professional for the most part. The care was very good but $$ but that comes with an emergency visit. The vet (loved him) discussed his findings and recommendations with options. I felt they were very thorough even though there was not a definite diagnosis since more testing would be needed I was relieved that I didn't have put my dog down and he would ok through the night. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the person who called for the care credit was loud and I guess their walls are thin so I could hear every word she said meaning other's could hear my information too. When she confronted she apologized but make a face as she was closing the door. Not professional.

So Christmas day my dog was in very bad pain and bleeding out so I only had to take him to one place because it was the only place open they gave me a receipt of $300 for the cremation and to bring him back home when I came 24 days later to make the last payment they told me I owe them another $275 because of some prom notes that were in the computer but not on my receipt I further told him I shouldn't have to pay because my receipt has a total they said they would give me back my money and my dog back and I was really confused so then I asked him what do you mean my dog and they said yes we never even cremated them until the last payment is paid so we still have them in a trash bag in the freezer they proceeded to give me my dog back on a gurney Frozen like Ice Cube and they didn't even give me my money back they lied to me and said they put it on my credit card will the receipt and the ATM machine was offline it clearly says it very bad work ethnics three different people lied straight to my face and all they kept talking about is notes they had in the computer at the end of the day they wanted $575 for cremation and to take him home I'm telling you guys know if anybody reads this go to the Menifee Animal Hospital off of Haun Road they do the whole thing plus put them in a box with his name for 170$ this is by far the worst experience I've ever had or had to go through getting my dead best friend 24 days later and put him into my car and taking them three different places to finally get him cremated was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life....

The doctors and the staff at CVS are amazing and I would recommend their services to anyone who truly loves their pets. Yesterday, I had to put down my beloved boy, Frankie, after it was apparently clear that he was slowly fading and there was nothing else I could do to save him. They were so kind and sympathetic and I thank CVS for their caring thoughts and their professionalism that was demonstrated throughout my family's time of need.

Bruce Dormanen

Twice We've had to rush one of our dogs to CVS, once, four years ago when our Golden died of cancer and the second when our new golden had two breach births in one litter. The doctors and staff were very compassionate and helpful every time. Thank you to CVS for everything you did in some very difficult times for my family.

I just brought my dog here because she was stung by a bee. Heather, the lady at the front desk, was very rude to me the second I started talking to her. She had a very bad attitude and even went as far as questioning my responses to her questions and making me answer again. Once I got through her interrogation, heather let me know that the dr. Was going to give my dog benadryl in an injection and that my visit was going to "start at" a little over $200. I agreed and a tech came out to admit the dog. After being admitted heather informed me that I would probably be there for around 2 hrs with my dog in the back. I was not ok with that and asked if they could give her the shot and let me watch her to which heather, again in a super unprofessional way told me no. At this point I refused the benadryl shot but still wanted someone to take a look at my dog. Heather got on her radio and called someone to bring the dog back up, while walking away from me. Once my dog was back in the front heather yelled from across the waiting room ( that was full of people) "the dog is going home." I cant believe that a company would allow a person like Heather to have any sort of interaction with other human beings. Heather needs to be taken out of any sort of customer facing position and maybe be put in a mail room or some sort of cave where she cannot interact with people. Robert the guy that answered the phone was very professional and nice and the nurse tech that came to bring my dog back out was also very friendly and really answered my questions.

Les Anderson

Stay away. Took my dog in because she was having an allergic reaction with of some type with hives. They take her back and give her a shot of antihistamine. 90 minutes later I see the doctor who says they want to rule out anaphylactic shock which can present with low blood pressure. So I ask what her vitals are. They haven't checked her vitals. They won't check blood pressure or temp because vital signs are not included in the $100 exam fee. They are concerned about low blood pressure but they wait 90 minutes to even ask to check her vitals because they want to charge an additional $85 (on top of the exam fee) to check my dogs blood pressure. Worst standard of care I have ever experienced at an any vet. Who doesn't check an animal's vital signs if you are concerned about the animals blood pressure.

Very attentive. Outstanding service!

Amanda Snyder

My father brought my youngest fur-baby in when he showed symptoms that something serious was wrong. Dr. Ackley gave us all the information she could, while taking great care of him, and did so with the utmost level of compassion for us and our baby. We had to make that very difficult decision, as it was the best choice for our boy, and her kindness throughout was very appreciated. I am very impressed with the quality of care we recieved from Dr. Ackley and the staff.

Margie Vasquez cortez

Omg the front desk people need manners especially Shay, she is loud and sarcastic!! Too much to write here but think twice before going there because the first thing they do is throw prices at you while you’re in distress about your fur baby, I seen it for myself tonight while I was waiting and that was wrong on so many levels.
