The staff at Turquoise Animal Hospital is really nice and they've been our vet since my dog was adopted as a puppy, but our dog's been struggling with an ear infection that we've had to keep coming back for. We've yet to get to the root of the problem for his ear infection and will be returning soon, but the fees paid at each appointment can get pretty high. Two treatments of Osurnia (the ear ointment our dog was given) retails for $29 online, but we were charged close to $300 for two visits in which they administered it to our dog's ear.

The staff is overworked; put me on a "brief" hold which lasted fifteen minutes when I could have been asked if I had a quick question. They find ways to charge a lot. My regular vet keeps costs down by having techs do vaccines but each time my new kitty came in a vet examined her. I'm handicapped and you have to park in the back and walk down a steep hill to the front.

A great animal hospital with caring staff. This is a fantastic place to go when you want the highest quality care. It is not the cheapest, if you want that go to petsmart. I think the only negative review about Turquoise was really price oriented. If you want to skimp on pet care and costs, go somewhere else. However, if you want the best care for your animal and have little concern for anything else, then I would recommend Turquoise.

Every time I come in, I feel welcomed and taken care of. I don't feel pressured into doing anything that I don't want to do and am always given plenty of options to choose from. The knowledgeable staff explain all the pros and cons of the options. This past visit I had noticed that Archer wasn't feeling his best and had a situation that I wanted to take care of right away and I called late in the day but they told me that if I came in right away that they would make the time to see him. I sincerely appreciate this kind of customer service. I tell everyone who has pets to come here. You come here when you want to be taken care of.

-I brought 2 shelter kittens here for their first vet visits. Be aware that there is a base charge for every visit, ranging from around $30 for a "brief" to around $50-60 for a full examination. Apparently the vet has to see the animal every time you're there, so you will always pay this fee. -The reception staff are very polite. -My kittens were seen by 3 of the different vets over their 3 visits a piece to get their shots up to date and all of the vets spent a little too much time gushing and awing over the kitten for people who see animals every day of their career, leading some of my visits to take over 30 minutes to receive a simple shot or two. -In terms of competency I can say they seem to be fine at giving shots, but I haven't experienced any of their other services. -All together my 4 visits there left me feeling like they were a little to eager to have me come back soon. The way they insist on examining the animal even if they've just seen them 2 weeks earlier feels like they're fishing for something to treat, rather than caring if the animal is healthy. I understand they have to make a living, but no one gets a pet because they want to go to the vet, so please don't drag the process out with fluff and bubbles.

We are so lucky to have found Turquoise Animal Hospital. We got a puppy and have had a ton of questions and also a need for some office visits due to a pesky stomach bug that won't seem to go away. The folks at Turquoise Animal Hospital never cease to be kind and patient. I love how close the office is our to our home; it's a nice walk with or without the pup but parking is also very easy as well if we need to stop by while in the car. Thank you so much!

Got a ticket and fine from San Diego County because this Vet/Office does not handle dog licensing at all. They only take customers money for wellness checks and vaccines. Save yourself the money and get your vaccines at the pet store. This is a scam when the professionals are not coordinated with the county and state.

Dr. Reed was amazing with my cat EMO. She needed her teeth cleaned and some teeth pulled, it went very smoothly and emo recovered quickly. Dr. Reed also saw Peeve our dog and everything was great with him and he's healthy as can be. I will for sure go back to see Dr. Reed!

Usually I go to a vet down the street but they were booked when I needed to get my frenchie in right away, so I was told to go here. The doctor was very nice and so helpful, gave my puppy antibiotics and she was better just days later. He also suggested a new food to give her because I told him she was not eating very much and was gassy. I forgot what the food was, and weeks later I called and he remembered me, and told me what to give her. It is a world of a difference in the new food, and she eats regularly and no more farts :) I plan on using this vet from now on, highly recommend!

Dr. G is a fantastic vet!! He has helped my dog Maggie for over 6 years now. She has strange swollen lymph node episodes every year and he has figured out how to treat her. She has just been diagnosed with diabetes and he has been so supportive with emailing me, checking on her, answering all of my questions. I'm blown away that he takes the time to check-in on Maggie. He's really good with handling neurotic doggie mamas (myself :) which definitely helps me be more at ease as we learn to control the diabetes. 'm so glad to have found this vet after moving to a new neighborhood. Dr.A and the team are so kind and helpful. My rat terrier has a bad history with prior vets, he gets very anxious and sometimes snippy. This team is so good with animals that I swear he actually likes going to see them. The rates they charge for dog boarding are also very reasonable. Love this place!

We had a sick cat who was projectile vomiting every few hours after eating, so we called and set up an appointment. By the time the appt came around, our cat was spry and seemed fine. We called and moved the appt to the next day just in case. 15 minutes later the poor kitten started vomiting again. We called back, and they were happy to squeeze us in the next couple hours. Obviously, they were very accommodating to us flip floppy first time kitten parents. And the visit went just as well. Dr. Bear (sp?) checked out Crypto and gave us a few options for next steps. Of course, we were afraid of the worst, but she kindly assured us to start by treating common nausea before jumping to the feared "obstruction" conclusion. They gave Crypto a shot, and gave us some ID kitten food, and he's been fine ever since. Thank you all so much for your help. It's obvious everyone there loves animals and what they do. Highly recommended.

They helped through adopting and caring for a kitten and puppy. They're also the only place I've found that offers free puppy classes and hosts lots of great learning activities for new pet owners. I called at 6:30pm with a sick pup, and they were kind enough to take me before they closed at 7pm. Front office staff was pleasant and helpful and the vet we saw was great. I thought the price was reasonable and was very happy with the whole experience. We were in and out quickly and the health issue was resolved.: )

Man I'm sick of Doctors selling every service they possible can. Sent my wife with my dog to get a bordetella vaccine. Only because I was sold the yearly more expensive bordetella previously. And of course now they're an expert and now they know of course boarding housing need the 6 month vaccine. Now they sell my wife on $75 heart worm test when my dog has never been off heart worm medication. Thanks for the extra doctor visit $35, thanks for the extra shot $35, and thanks for the extra test we didnt need $75. $150 visit. Never going back here.

Having to take your pet to the vet can sometimes be traumatic for all parties involved, animal and human. My kitty had lost a ton of weight and was diagnosed with lymphoma by the teams at Turquoise. They immediately recommended me to a specialist in Sorrento Valley where he was taken care of and went into remission. I had a happy ending, and it was in no small part of the care my kitty received at Turquoise. They knew that this affliction needed special treatment outside of their core-competencies, and I appreciate the footwork they did for me to ensure my kitty got the fastest treatment available. Top marks to Dr. G, he was very helpful and kind. The staff was amazing and sympathetic. I don't hesitate to recommend this team. They are amazing.

I don't know what the negative reviews are all about. You can't please everyone all the time, some people you can't please any of the time unfortunately. (I'm assuming they probably fall into that category) Every time I've gone in for a visit, Dr. G has spent at least 15-20 minutes (sometimes longer if needed) just talking about options and treatments. He always recommends the least expensive/ least invasive options available first. I'll never take my little Fluff Child anywhere else.

The Doctors and Staff at Turquoise Animal hospital were so nice and helpful when we brought in 3 very sick puppies that we were fostering. Dr. G. sympathized with our situation and the difficult decisions ahead of us. His advice was compassionate and sound as he explained our options and likely prognosis. Because we were working with a rescue group he only charged for the meds and not the office visit. Every dollar helps when you are trying to save dogs, and that kindness was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this facility.

Sam is very comfortable here. She appreciates the ear thermometer, rather than the rude old kind. The scale in the waiting area is not scary and they have treats. Dr. Reed is our special doctor but we love them all there. Our neighbor, a vet at the emergency hospital, recommended Turquoise. We can too. PS: WE have not seen Dr. Reed in a year or so and when I came in to pick up Rx she recognized me and asked about our dog by NAME. INCREDIBLE>

Brought our dog here to get some routine shots. We are PB locals so the location was very convenient and they have a parking lot in the back which is clutch! Cute little front yard to let your pet get as much of that nervous pee out as possible. Ha. The checkin counter has a treat container and a hook to place a leash while you go through the check in process. The veterinarian we saw was so friendly and our dog loved her! She also was very upfront about which vaccines were necessary, which we could think about and which ones we really didn't need. And priced them out so we knew what we were going to pay. Would definitely recommend to take your furry friends here

I was obviously feeling a little nervous because my cat wasn't feeling her best and I wanted to make sure she would receive the best care and treatment.
