We shifted to Redwood after a disappointing experience with a vet operation that had bought out the one we'd been happy with for several years. We own four dogs and at one time, had two cats as well. We are a gold mine for veterinarians. :-) We find the balance between availability, quality of service and cost to be to our liking at Redwood Veterinary Hospital. Availability is especially important. We've experienced great vets before that had limited hours. We found that the fact that they were often only to schedule and appointment several days out when one of our pets took ill negated their technical skills and service. Redwood has always been able to work us in when one of our pets was under the weather outside of a 9-5, weekday schedule.

Our two Akitas have always worn down their nails running on our patio, now that we have had the patio redone with a smooth finish, they both needed their nails clipped. Maggie is delightful, but still doesn't like her feet touched so she is a little challenge, Bear is fearful of everything at the vet's office so he is a huge challenge. Poor sick kitty, Miss Cream Puff. It was the Friday afternoon before Christmas. I was late to my appointment because traffic was backed up so badly. It was my first time going to Redwood because my old vet in Benicia sold her practice. I wanted Miss Cream Puff treated instead of suffering until Monday or Tuesday after Christmas. They took her anyway. Treatment was prompt and efficient. We were treated well. I had visited another vet with the problem only two days before. The first vet's diagnosis (of food allergy) resulted in Miss Cream Puff getting worse, although I changed her diet. But Dr. Breeden did the right tests, put her on an antibiotic, and she was better by Christmas. On Monday I got the test results - blood and crystals in urine, probably cystitis, along with options of how to treat her. It is not the diagnosis I wanted, but it is accurate and the cat is doing well.

My regular Vet is in Sacramento, 75 minutes away. When I need local care, I go to Redwood Vet Clinic.Redwood Vet is my choice for odd hours. They are open on Sunday and it is relatively easy to get an appointment. I have referred several friends to this vet, and they have become regular clients there. The staff at Redwood Vet are very clear on explaining what they are going to do, and what the cost will be. There are several vets there, so if your favorite isn't there, you can still be assured that your dog will be taken care of.

This place is listed as a veterinary pharmacy, however, they will not fill prescriptions from another veterinarian. Don't bother going there EVEN if your veterinarian tells you to. I was informed by the receptionist, they have that medication, but would not honor another vet's prescription, I could bring my pet to them and have their vet run the same tests, come to the same conclusion, prescribe the same medication, and charge me close to the same fees I just got done paying for !!! Well that sounds special and oh so helpful !!!

After an anxiety filled and stressful night at the Pet ER two days before our first visit, all the staff at Redwood Veterinary Hospital made our visit a positive experience. From getting our information in before our arriving to signing quick paperwork when we got there and throughout our first visit with Dr. Fox was an easy and stress relieving process. Dr. Fox examined our very anxious dachshund with such a caring energy and gave us positive news we really needed to hear. From hearing that our senior dachshund’s prognosis was grave and discussing at home euthanasia with the ER vet to hearing Dr. Fox comment on how full of life he is and giving us the positive reassurance of his possibility of regaining his mobility and if he doesn’t, she positively mentioned he could have a good quality of life if he needed a wheelchair to assist him. Amazing quality of service here.

I moved to Vallejo in 2012, and I was very worried about finding a new Veterinarian, as I'd been at my previous Vet for over a decade. My dogs have always been a very important part of my life and family, and I only want the very best for them. One of my older dogs had a mysterious condition that previously had other Veterinarians stumped....they sent me to specialists all over Northern California, and I couldn't find anyone who could diagnose her problem. I ended up taking her to acupuncture just to help with the pain, and so I could feel like I was doing something. So you can imagine my relief and amazement when I found Redwood Veterinary Hospital, and Dr. Huebner was able to discover Ginger's gall bladder problem and prescribe the medicine to help her! Needless to say I am a huge fan of Redwood Veterinarian Hospital! Since then I have been loyally coming here with my furry family, and I have gotten to know the staff and all the doctors and I trust them all completely. I like that they all seem to work together well and each has their expertise. I find the entire staff to be warm and friendly, and I have to say that they have been there for me during some of the hardest decisions lately.... I just can't express how grateful I am to know that they are there for all of my dog - related issues, no matter how big or small. They really went above and beyond. I love RVH, thank you with all my heart.

Redwood Veterinary has a large staff of high quality doctors and aides and is open with an extended schedule that offers convenient hours of operation. When my dog needed extensive surgery to remove a cancerous tumor of the spleen, I chose to bring her to this office because they had the necessary facilities and staff to handle this extensive procedure. the surgeon, Dr. Veltry, did a miraculous job and my American Staffordshire Terrier has been healthy and cancer-free for a year and a half now. I am grateful for their caring and expertise and I recommend this office highly.

Bella is a beautiful, difficult black senior cat. She's very opinionated, wakes me up by nuzzling/grooming my hair in the middle o the night if she's out of food. She may allow me to trim one claw a day; any more than that, and she's biting. I've taken to having her pedicured at Redwood. They tell me she' s good as gold. The next nurse who tells me that is going to have her given to her! Folks there are all so sweet, and knowledgeable, good at their jobs. So glad to have them in town.

My German Shepherd straight back was diagnosed with heart disease and has been under their care with all medications, tests, check ups and follow ups done accordingly. This hospital lacks true compassion for animals and is forever trying to make money off vulnerable pet owners. Tried talking my poor mom into extensive testing for her 13 y.o dog. I'm in the vet field and the way she was treated here was ridiculous. I live too far away for her to bring the dog to my hospital and this is the closest to her house. Their Rx policy is WRONG. It is also 100% illegal to not provide a written Rx when requested by an owner who wants to shop around. It makes me sad that all these people trust in them when they really are just all about the money. The staff didn't even read the chart or instructions on the Rx and advised my poor mom to put ear drops in the eyes. Luckily my mother is not dumb and knee her dog had an ear infection but still.. It doesn't take more than 5 seconds to glance at a chart or read instructions on a bottle. Ear drops wouldn't do damage if applied to the eyes but what if it was something more serious? I would not recommend Redwood to any one

My pup Kia was injured and I was seeking a new veterinarian as mine had recently retired. I called a few places and everyone was booked or closed for the holiday. I finally got in my car and drove to redwood as I always noticed it when leaving Safeway but could not remember the name. I walked in and explained my situation and was told the were booked but to bring Kia in and the nurses could evaluate her. I brought Kia in, the nurses determined she need to be seen by a Dr. and after a few minutes Dr. Rogers came in. She and her whole staff were absolutely amazing and truly kind to Kia who is on the mend. Thank you redwood veterinary hospital for helping out when no one else would. We are new to the area and needed to find a veterinarian for our two Old English Sheepdogs. The reviews for Redwood Veterinary were very favorable to us. One of our dogs needed to have his ear looked at. We called on a Saturday morning and they gave us an appointment within two hours of our call. Dr. Lally took care of us and determined that Newman had a very severe ear infection. Dr. Lally, the vet techs and the office staff were awesome. We are so pleased that we chose Redwood Veterinary for our dogs and highly recommend them to anyone needing care for their animals. I would also like to add that while we were there, other customers were telling us what a great place Redwood Veterinary is. Definitely 5 stars!

The Dr. was very prompt in her arrival, showed great interest in our pets and was open with her feelings and diagnosis. I felt like she only asked for the tests she really felt were needed and explained very well the entire situation.

Redwood vet is the only place we bring our dog to for care. Our first dog had a severe flea allergy so we were referred to Davis, after her treatment was completed Redwood vet took it from there. Although Kelly was a large dog and had to take prednisone when her allergy flared up she lived for 17 years. Redwood vet has been very good to our dog refilling medicine quickly, making treatment affordable, providing a treatment plan that starts at the lowest level and ramping it up as needed. Dr. Fox has always listened to our concerns and always follows up with a call to see how the treatment is going (that's better than my own doctor).

This is the most wonderful, caring smart office of Vets you could.ask for. Our new puppy was.sick.and we were so worried.. The staff was so great and got us in as soon as possible The vet what's so great and she knew how worried we were She took so much time making sure we knew what was wrong and that it was gonna be OK dr Schwab also called every other day and checked on the puppy I will never go to another vet office. All the drs are.great.and.really.love.and care about the animals they care for.

There are not enough thank yous I could ever give Redwood Vets...there staff are Angel's that walk among us....I lost to illnesses 2 precious Angel's ..pepe jose gabriel and Paco fransisco....and these Angel's that helped me and my family get through the most difficult times in our lives cannot be explained...their living hands....their compassion....their own tears that were shed with our family just was amazing....their love and dedication to help and be there during the best and worst of times proved that it doesnt matter where I move I trust they and only they will take care of our needs. I recommend this place to anyone who loves their animals enough to know the VERY best care will be given...the prices are extremely reasonable and scheduling you in on a urgent emergency was never a issue. 5 stars is not enough I always recommend them and always will. Our dog was limping and we took him in to find out what was wrong with him. They checked his legs, back and determined that he may have a thorn in his paw. They shaved his foot and made sure that everything was clean. He healed well and was very well taken care of. The saff were friendly and Dr. Lally was very professional and caring. She even called a few days later to check n us! We highly recommend there office and doctors!

I have one dog and two elderly cats (16 + yrs old) and over the years I've moved a lot and been to a lot of different vets but Redwood Vet Hospital is absolutely the best. They treat your pet like your baby, listen carefully, thoroughly exam them and give you different options for treatment and explain each one to you. And on top of all that their fees are very reasonable. When my Maine Coon was sick they got him in on a Saturday and called me on Sunday to check back and see how he was even though they aren't open on Sundays. So long story longer, I won't be going anywhere else but here for my fur babies!

We have been to multiple vets in the past trying to find the right one until we wandered into Redwood Vetrinary Hospital around 5-6 years ago and found a vet we can trust with our furbabies. They always make you feel welcome and you can tell the doctors will do anything to make sure your pets are taken care of from check ups to major issues. The staff is awesome!!..nothing else to say on them. Our 5 dogs (2 Australian Shepherds and 3 Chihuahuas) love this place and that's all that really matters. Great Vetrinary hospital with a great staff.

I have recently begun going to Redwood Veterinary hospital and have been very happy with their care. I have struggled to find a vet that I was comfortable with ever since moving to CA two years ago, but I have now found our vet! The care my dog has received has been thorough, competent, and compassionate. All of our needs have been addressed and proper care taken without trying to add on a bunch of unnecessary tests or services. I appreciate the comprehensive exam my dog gets on every visit, he doesn’t just get a once over, they check him out completely. I have had to take my dog in several times over the last couple of weeks for an ongoing issue and I have always been able to get timely appointments. I would highly recommend Redwood Veterinary hospital. They have also been recommended to me by two different vet specialists in the area, which speaks very highly of their care and ability. The only thing I think new patients should be aware of is their waiting room is very small. It is divided between a canine and a feline side, which is nice, but it makes it a tight squeeze if you have more than one or two owners and dogs waiting.

The ladies at Redwood Veterinary Hospital were so kind. They were helpful and when our appointment ran late, due to an emergency with an animal earlier in the day, they were very apologetic. I had my two small children with me and my children were also treated very nicely. They examined and x-rayed our 9-month-old guinea pig Inca, whom we believed might have a broken rear leg, however it turned out to be nothing but a sore leg. They were very careful and patient with her during the exam, the pricing was reasonable, and the facility was very clean. I also appreciate that they had a separate entrance for cats and dogs, which I'm sure I will appreciate even more when we bring our beagle in.

The nurse noticed a prior reaction in my pets file, which I was concerned about when bringing her in anyway. She let me know it required a doctors visit and that a doctor would be with me soon. At first I thought she was going to tell me I had to come back or ask me if I could wait for a while. Nope, the doctor was right out and we went over the risks vs rewards. My nerves settled and I felt so much better. All my other questions were answered, nail trimming done and out the door we went. My pet always calms down for them, it's so neat to see.

We've been taking our pets to Redwood Veterinary Hospital since 2009. They have several providers on staff, and they're each very invested in the animals they treat. They clearly care about each individual pet. The fact that they're open 7 days a week is so convenient for those who commute a distance to work during the week.

Over the years I have taken 3 dogs and 6 cats regularly to Redwood Veterinary. They have always been so knowledgeable and professional and given my "babies" the best treatment and medical care. Sadly they have helped me take care of several who reached the end of their lives, and were very understanding and compassionate to my feelings. I have been to 3 other Vallejo Vet offices, but once I found Redwood, I knew I would stay with them as long as I had pets.

friendly and knowledgable staffs. quick services. our dog showed obvious discomfort and pain yesterday morning. i immediately took her to a vet. but the vet with the highest rating nearby was fully booked. i tried two others with the same bad luck. the earliest is next tuesday. i called RVH they accommodated me 3PM. i got in 2:50PM. after paperwork (5") they took care of my dog right away. all went well from that point on. thanks
