You will see the opinions of people who purchased the services of Montclair Veterinary Hospital (Veterinarian) in the state of California.
To this day the firm has a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and this score was based on 142 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is almost the top, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the score is quite accurate. If people have bothered to leave their score when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
Kind compassionate and caring staff
I had a sick basset hound there and they were delightful. My little girl was at ease and everything offered was fully explained.
Started bringing my Smiley Dog Rescue adopted girl here in 2004. She has had vicious stomach / intestinal problems (2004) from being allowed to gnaw a tennis ball in the house, a diagnosis of struvite crystals (2009) after persistent urinary incontinence, a foxtail removed (2011) after sniffing too vigorously in the weeds at the Albany Bulb, a bad UTI diagnosed and treated, her teeth cleaned, a lump removed, and a paw injury examined and treated. She's also been in for minor things and annual checkups along the way. Each time, whichever vet we have seen (Richter, Isaacson, Lynn, and others in the past) has been thorough and gentle with my girl and patient with my questions. My 90-lb mixed breed is now approaching 12 years old and has some of the accompanying indignities of age, but the folks at Montclair Vet have helped us devise the lightest approach to helping her stiffness and urinary leakiness. (Cosequin and Proin, the best thing since dog treats.) My dog continues to be healthy and happy in their care and acts like a young dog, not an elder, in her daily activities still. She can't wait to get in the door at the vet! No fear of going there, probably because from the outset I started a game in the little inside exam rooms of "find the tiny treat" - I bring them and hide them, and she finds them with enthusiasm. The vet or tech entering is just another fun thing in her mind. No procedure she has had there has dissuaded her from her enthusiasm, so the action in the "back room" must be gentle enough to keep the positive vibe. To those who dislike a vet that is run efficiently, I hope you can find somewhere else that satisfies you. I've never had a problem with a waiting appointment for urgent matters, and the folks on the phone are in a hurry because they are trying to accommodate as many clients as need their help. If you want a vet that is better for YOU than your animal, look elsewhere. I'm staying with Montclair Vet. (Dr Richter saved my old dog's life with a tracheotomy one night long before he moved to Montclair Vet, when he was working that emergency vet hospital in Berkeley on rotation, so I have a fondness for him on that account. But if his vet practice were poorly run I would not stay.)
Super friendly people that work there make it easy to get through difficult appointments. My family has been taking animals here for over 10 years and would happily recommend.
OMG I have been referred to this place twice now, but I don't know if it's because they are both elder white women because just calling was a horrible experience for me. The receptionist is rude and dismissive and acted like she didn't want me to come in. I'm not sure what that was for, but now I don't know if I even want to go.
Everyone that works at Montclair Veterinary Hospital cares about your pet and you or about a lost 4-legged one or one found abandoned. From those who answer the phones to the assistants and the Docs. They all take the time for your pet and for you. It doesn't matter who you see, they are all in it together. It is always a very positive experience. We are grateful to be able to take our pet to Montclair Vet. Hospital.
looks the best of all near me
This was my first time at this vet. The ambiance and environment inside was nice and cozy. The staff were professional and also very friendly and loving with my pups. There were a couple small things I would have appreciated given the higher cost of services, and hence the three star review. I was told that I would get several things prior to check out, including a sample for tooth paste and information on boarding facilities since I would be going out of town. Realized when I got home that this wasn't in the papers I received. I was also told that I would get an extra month supply of heartgard which I realized I also didn't get when I got home. Finally, I got a phone call from one of the staff the next day, and when I called back the staff member somewhat rudely asked if I could check my voicemail rather than taking a minute to let me know that the call was regarding my pups negative giardia results. These are all minor things but I am a physician myself and know that its a lot of the small things that matter when providing excellent care to humans or animals. When you pay a higher expense, you would hope you would get a lot of those nice, small things. Despite all of this, I'd probably return, it is close to my home, and the staff and the facilities were nice.
Had a very bad experience with the front desk. Took my dog here for the first time after a transfer of ownership. I called and was told I could bring him in for his flea and heartworm medicine without an appointment. I accidentally went into the first door which I believe is the reception for their surgical services and the front desk woman was very rude and rolled her eyes when I told her I was told I could just bring my dog in for flea medicine, she redirected me but was very abrupt about it. The second receptionist was also not very friendly. I found the customer service to be lacking, but the vet tech was very nice. I'm sure the vets here are great based on the reviews but I also want to feel welcomed and will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere.
I can't be more appreciative of Dr. Bowers and the entire staff at Montclair Vet Hospital. The deciding factor when my Bull Terrier Emma first came there, was that she seemed happy and wagged her tail when we got there (in sharp contrast with other vet hospitals that she visited). Since then, our furry family has grown and Dr. Bowers has extended excellent service and care to my Bull Terrier puppy Gustav. I'm grateful for all that they've done in helping me work with my previous pet insurance (Trupanion: The worst pet insurance known to man) and helping us organize the claims process. Each time we visit Montclair Vet hospital we are extremely pleased and happy that we went. Thank you Montclair Vet Hospital!
Our little doggie has seen Dr. Richter for four years since we first got him from a rescue shelter. Lucky for us all, his health has been good. Dr. Richter really calms the animal (and the humans). He has the personality that makes you feel good. His experience adds to our comfort level. The staff have always been friendly and attentive, and we rarely have to wait to be seen.
My beloved dog Georgie Girl was a patient at Montclair Veterinary Hospital from the time I moved to the Bay Area 3 years ago until I had to put her to sleep a few weeks ago. We were extremely lucky to have been referred to them. She had several issues and their care was always expert, kind and thorough - including a great deal of time the veterinarian spent trying to find her a neurologist one holiday weekend Friday (she did!). They always gave her plenty of time and attention - in fact, I felt as though she was a favorite doggie of theirs, while at my last vet I wasn't sure they remembered her from one time to the next. I found out a bit later on about their extensive holistic services, and those were a godsend. Her passing was extremely calm and peaceful and - I cry just thinking of it - the very sensitive handling of her ashes was also just wonderful. The staff is as empathic as the doctors, and it was so good knowing that Georgie was treated so well during times that might have been stressful for her otherwise. They are the BEST!!!!
Wounderful place, best vets I've come across in the Bay Area, little pricey but hey, you get what you pay for,!
Living in Montclair we feel very fortunate to have Montclair Veterinary Hospital in the heart of the Village. They are very caring and knowledgeable and have given us expert care with our dog Zoey and then later with our newest family member Cooper. They go out of their way to keep their clients informed and always follow up with any medications prescribed or treatments recommended. Reliable doctors and caring front office staff.
I have been a client for 13 years.......Every vet I've met and worked with is outstanding. They have cared for 1 cat (lived til she was 21 yrs), two dogs who have each passed across the "Rainbow Bridge", and now my newest young rescue dog of 2 yrs. My one dog had many serious problems, as he was a Greyhound and had raced for 4 1/2 yrs. When I finally had to put him down, 2 yrs ago, their compassion helped me get through the very difficult choice and process. I can't say enough good things about the Montclair Veterinary Hospital.
My three kitties are quite healthy thanks in large part to a raw chicken diet (flesh, bones, and organs). When we made the switch from the vet-prescribed kibble diet (that was literally life-threatening for my big guy) we also switched vets. We chose Dr. Gary Richter due to his holistic approach, support for the raw food diet, and his gentle manner. My big guy doesn't like strangers, especially men, but he tolerates Dr. Richter.
Wonderful dedicated staff who take great effort to provide the best care for our two dogs. All the doctors and staff are outstanding and really take the time to explain procedures and make sure your mind is at ease.
The vets were very helpful and kind. They were gentle and loving towards the animals, and the service was fast.
Everyone was super friendly here, from the front desk receptionist, to the nurses and doctors. They showed genuine interest in our pet budgies, and very patiently fielded our many questions. Would definitely recommend taking your pet here!
Wonderful staff: love the care we get there. They are always helpful and they really listen.
They have been there for me over and over again for the past 10 years. Dr. Lynn walks on water and our dogs and cats love her. We thought about going to a vet closer to our home but decided against it because the service Montclair Vet provides can't get any better. Believe me when I say that it can't get any better than this.
I have taken my cats to Montclair Veterinary Hospital and have always been received by friendly and helpful office staff . Dr. Richter has been our Veterinarian for many years. His gentle approach and easy manner makes for an easier visit; he has my trust.
Montclair and Dr. Richter and staff are absolutely the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Three years ago when I moved here from Atlanta I was in need of a vet for my sick cat. For the next 2 years Basil was under their care, surely extending the quality and time of her life. The staff at Montclair always is able to get me in for an appointment, especially when my little loved one was sick. If you are considering a new vet or are new to the area I would HIGHLY recommend Montclair Veterinary.
We have been bringing our cats here for over 30 years and have had only the best service. They have been especially comforting and understanding when we have had to put our dear kitties down.
I cannot say enough good things about Montclair. Every single vet I've seen is thorough and compassionate. The office staff is professional and proficient. This office has seen me through the death of two cats and into the life of two new cats. They cost a little bit more than others, but you get what you pay for. One of my old cats was diagnosed with cancer and never once did they push aggressive treatment. In every case where I had options, they always explained all options. They have always respected my choices as to how I want to care for my pets. They are good people who know their stuff and I will keep going to them for all my pets' needs!
Great vet, super helpful.
Best bet around, very friendly receptionist and the best vets
I brought in my 2 cats for routine annual exams. The prices are very high ($68 per cat) for what amounted to less than 10 minutes of work per cat. The doctor also forgot to take the temperature of one of them. On a second occasion I called them because I needed medication for tapeworms, and they quoted me $40 per 2 pills, which seems high compared to the $12-15 that Grand Lake Vet quoted (the medication in question was Drontal, which can be found for $6.50 per pill online).
We have been taking our dog to Montclair Veterinary Hospital for 8 years. We find their staff, both at the front desk and behind the doors, to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The veterinary staff takes a serious but conservative approach to dealing with pet problems. We appreciate that we've never been encouraged to rush to an expensive treatment before taking the time to watch and assess. They've kept our now aging dog in good health for years. We strongly recommend Montclair Veterinary Hospital.
Super nice staff and very clean facility. They always treat my pet with the best of care, like a member of their own family. It's great to have such an awesome Vet Clinic right in the neighborhood!
Wish there were more stars. Wonderful vets. Great training and experience, professional and compassionate. Jackson loved, loved, loved going to the vet and hoped one day he would be able to grab Stella, the resident cat. Each of the vets is great but we have been particularly happy with Drs Lynn, Granzow and Richter. Jack also went to the Holistic practice and I was happy to be able to combine the two. Also, the office staff and techs are equally wonderful and helpful.
Great care for all your pets.
I have a pet snake and so cannot rely on just any veterinary service. Thank heaven Montclair Veterinary Hospital is there when I need help. The people at Montclair really love my baby snakey, making visits less stressful for Casper and for me.
Been coming here since I moved to Oakland in 2014. And even though I live near Lake Merritt now, I still bring my dog here. They were incredible and supportive last year when our older dog suddenly got sick and sadly, ultimately passed. They did everything they could to help us and when it was time to make the hardest choice I’ve ever had to make, they helped us peacefully say goodbye to our sweet boy Knuckles. I’ll never go anywhere else.
Our dogs and cats have relied on Montclair Veterinary Hospital for excellent routine and primary care since 2006. We've never had a negative experience. Vets seem comfortable with my titer first, vaccinate only if necessary philosophy. Techs and office staff are really nice. If one of my fur-kids goes in for illness or injury, rather than routine check-up, there's always a follow up call the next day to check on progress.
Have only had positive experiences with Montclair Veterinary Hospital. Everyone is super friendly, professional and operate with a calm ease. If you're on a tight budget might not be ideal but the service you get there is worth their rates.
The best at what they do!
Montclair Vet is fantastic! They're very professional and trend towards minimally invasive treatments for your pet. Our cat has been going there for 5 years and they properly diagnosed her IBD, and we got set up with specialist that's helped her tummy trouble tremendously. We love Montclair Vet!
Friendly staff & vet that's happy to answer any questions. Easy to get appointments, even for same day. My pug Steve approves.
We have been going to Rose Marie pet hospital for 15 years. We live on the farm and our farm is in the city so we even take our farm animals for check ups...........not only do they help us keep our cats and dogs healthy but our peacocks and birds healthy to........the thing that keeps us coming here is the friendly staff and affordable prices......:)
Highest quality of veterinary care and very nice people who genuinely care about animals. About average price for veterinary services.
Every time I have brought one of my cats to Montclair Veterinary Hospital, they have greeted me and my pet, given my cat excellent care, and are very thorough in the information they send me home with. I feel like I am part of the decision-making process in my pets' care, and my pets are handled with care. Getting an appointment is easy, and I have never had a long wait when I have shown up for an appointment.
Montclair Veterinary Hospital came highly recommended and they have exceeded my expectations. I have brought my Goldendoodle puppy there on numerous occasions during the past 6 months and have found the whole team, both medical and non-medical, to be highly professional and responsive to my concerns. And despite her being poked, proded and spayed, she is always excited to return to her "friends" there. I recommend them highly.
While they may be competent, Montclair Vet is over priced and not always informative about fees until it is too late. I was offered several different medication options once. I opted to try a pill. One pill. Down my cat's throat it went and then I got the bill. $110 for one pill. I'd learned my lesson and next time I went in, I asked for costs before agreeing to anything. That time I got an estimate for a procedure of $1800. I shopped about and got it from a different vet, completely reputable, for less than 1/2 that price. I'm financially well off, but see no need to be gouged for over-priced and unnecessary services. I don't plan on returning to Montclair Vet.
Great vet with staff that shows care with animals and owners. The lobby is really spacious and clean and the vet that helped us was really informative. Glad we went here and recommend it to others.
We have used Montclair Vet for nearly 44 years for our various dogs and a few cats & hamsters. They have all been splendidly cared for. Since the "new ownership" of the practice took over (I can't ever guess how many years ago) we have received consistently good care as we did in 1970, such that even after moving from Montclair to Rockridge we continue to have our three dogs, now only dogs, cared for there.
We've been taking our pets (cats and a dog) here for years, and can't recommend it highly enough. Dr. Richter turned our cat Winkey, who was so sick with IBD when we adopted her that her whiskers were breaking off & she was vomiting blood and refusing food, into a happy, energetic completely healthy cat--something two previous vets to which we took her were unable to do.
Kipper is well-cared for whether it is for surgery or a routine appointment. The staff is polite, efficient and professional.
They take really good care of all three of our boys.
I've taken a few of my rats here. The staff is wonderful. They don't have their own parking, so you'll have to try your luck with street parking or risk parking in the Lucky parking lot. I'd like to rate this place higher because I really do love the staff, but, as a rat owner, this place is just too expensive. I just spent nearly $500 over the weekend for two of my rats and I've previously spent about $400 on another. Also, one of the rats I took this weekend will need to come back and that's estimated to be nearly $500.
I went to the Montclair Veterinary Hospital for a second opinion on Duke. This place really has their act together. Not only did they NOT want to operate on Duke, which the other place immediately suggested, they actually knew exactly what was going on with his foot and how to treat it, which the other place did not figure out. Two days later and his foot is looking much better. I'm moving both my dogs to their care from here forward. Did I mention, the bill here at the "high end" hospital was less than the other spot too? Well done Montclair Veterinary Hospital~
Just a flawless veterinary experience. Very happy!
We love Montclair Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Lynn! We've been taking our guinea pigs there for two years, and now, our recently rescued dog. The staff are friendly, patient and empathetic. Dr. Lynn is so compassionate and cuddly with our furry friends and provides a wealth of knowledge for all things animal. Even when visiting Montclair Vet in an emergency situation (when they squeezed us in just before close), I was comforted in knowing my pup was in good hands and was well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Montclair Veterinary Hospital. We appreciate all that you do!
I have been to the Vet Hospital many times over the years with a very fussy Blue Heeler mix. They know her foibles and have always been able to examine her and remedy her issue. The staff from reception to assistants to the doctors are exceptional. Outstanding service.
Very supportive and knowledgeable staff
i'm going there for many years. Nice, pleasant & efficient.
This place is amazing. If only the doctor offices for humans were this good. As we were walking down the stairs, we were already greeted by someone who was walking to the other side. She stopped in her tracks to instantly greet and help us as we were walking with our little bun. Everyone smiled and was very friendly and excited to see us and our little Groot. They were prompt and attentive to our needs. The staff was very informative and seemed knowledgeable about their field, so this made me feel at ease. The doctor was so amazing with our baby bunny! We haven't been able to hold him yet and she knew exactly how to safely and comfortably hold him for his check up. She explained everything she was looking for and gave us tips and things to look out for along with when we would need to immediately come in. It was bunny lesson 101! Which we needed because it was our first. She printed out material for us to read about our pet as well. I really loved how she showed us his anatomy because my daughter thought his little teeth were the funniest things she's ever seen. They also showed us step by step on how to trim his nails, which they did because it needed to be done. This is a great office, everyone was fun to interact with. We will definitely use this office as a permanent vet unless we move very far away!
I am so glad I found Dr. Richter and his staff! My cat of 16 years was diagnosed with kidney disease and we exhausted all the traditional treatments for the first year. After researching the promising results of stem cell therapy, I decided to get the procedure done for him. I spent months calling around looking for a doctor who would be willing to perform the surgery here in LA. Finally, I contacted Dr. Richter and he was more than happy and willing to help. He & his staff were so friendly and compassionate, it made the whole trip from LA to Oakland completely worth while. It's been 2 months now and Kitters' creatnine level has gone down from a 2.8 to a 2.4 and he's already gained a pound. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone with a furry friend.
Dr Thistlewaite is an incredible caregiver – better than most human doctors I have worked with! I trust her wholeheartedly.
Knowledgeable, kind and flexible -- all very important for our four-leggeds. Our pug has violent reactions to certain vaccines and our Montclair vets have worked with us to surmount the issues and to keep Coco healthy into her golden years.
Our cat had an abscess on his face, probably resulting from cut from a fight with another cat that got infected. Took him here, where he was treated and released. The whole thing took about half an hour. Very professional, very efficient, and our cat is now doing fine.
We just transferred to Montclair Vet and had a really great experience. Our previous vet was in SFO and way too far to drive to now that we are in Oakland. The staff at Montclair were welcoming, very friendly, attentive to our concerns, gave suggested options and really worked with us. They also paid lots of attention to our guy and made him feel calm and at ease. I highly recommend them to you as your next long-term vet.
The friendliest most caring staff around!
The Montclair Veterinary Hospital is excellent. I have always received warm, caring, professional answers to my many questions. I highly recommend Montclair Vet. Hospital.
My beautiful and beloved Champion Maine Coon cat that I had for 14 years was treated here for a horrible mouth cancer. They were all very sweet and caring. That said, when my beloved died I got a nice call from his Doctor but that was it. After spending thousands of dollars and them knowing how destroyed I was I am very surprised that they didn't take two minutes to send a sympathy card like my cat's normal vet did. I hate to say that it really hurt my feelings. You want to think that these people care about you and your pet but when something like a seaming brush under the rug happens when your beloved pet dies and they spent so much time with them... hey, I don't know what to say. I am confused and saddened.
We have used Montclair Vet for 10 plus years for our dog. Great care, clean facility, and prompt service. Highly recommend it.
We are new to the area of Oakland, ca. We have four pets two are rescues. When i called the Montclair Vet office, i didnt get a machine, i got a friendly human being who asked me about all my pets in great detail. My cat had an upper respiratory infection and the staff were on hand to take immediate care of him as soon as we walked in the door. Dr Eric, and his team, gotta give a shout out to Zena (zina?) vet tech for not only her care of my cat but towards us her bubbly personality put us at ease. Dr. Eric is not only well versed in his profession, but just super friendly and explained everything concerning our cats issue concisely and thoroughly. Front desk staff, wonderful customer service!!! I am bringing all my pets to Montclair Vet for all our vet needs. ♥ I HIGHLY recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone and to all my friends.
Excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. I take my dog there for check-up and also sometimes to get international health certificate. Everytime my dog is take cared of very well and leaving happy. One of the best veterinary hospital in the Bay Area.
Thank you for making a move to a new town so easy! We had a great vet in SoCal walking distance from home. Now we have a new one--a short drive away. I appreciate the ease of working out appt.s online, having information about my pet on line, and the great personal attention when we arrive in person. Only drawback is that there is no free parking. The parking situation in Montclair Village is problematic, but the Vet hospital is great!
Montclair Vet Hospital was very Clean and Their prices were very resonable. We were awaiting our femals Pregnancy test, which was negitive and the vet sent me information for the future about breeding. So now hopefully in a few months they can try again and be blessed with puppies and have a vet on call.
Montclair Vet is phenomenal. They found out what was wrong with our dog when another vet couldn't. They are always friendly and compassionate and I think their prices are reasonable, compared to other vets.
They work so hard here to make sure your pets feel comfortable and safe (even if they are scaredy-dogs like my girl). I drive 45 minutes each way to bring my pets here because they receive the best care possible.
Terrific bird vet Dr. Lyn.
Great people that take care of my dog really well.
The extremely rude attitude that i was met with at the front desk set off my senses and was a beacon light flashing to step back and observe this place from a different perspective. You see I had foolishly put my confiding trust into this new place since we were being feferred to Montclair for an ultrasound. We have had such wonderful care at the Holistic Veterinary on Piedmont. My dog normally sees Lisa who is amazing, but needing an urgent appointment due to my dogs increasing itching starting to make himself bleed we took an appt. with a Dr. Richter. All went fine and at the follow up he strongly suggested running new labs which he said came back with enzymes in the 3000's when average is 160. He then strongly suggests an ultrasound but it has to be done at a hospital they work with called Montclair. Can you see where this is going? The reason i found the holistic vet is due to the health issues from living in a toxic building that had stachybotrys hidden in the walls, cielings, and floors. Traditional vets have been anything but helpful in a path to recovery with my dogs health. Now here we are getting cherry picked out the holistic vet to pay huge bills for no answers, no solutions, no nothing. My dog was more itchy and red and had welts and wounds when i picked him up. From a $900 ultrasound that cant tell the dr anything as to why his liver enzymes are through the roof. No wonder he called and gave me the results on the phone instead of in person. And then when i try to check out, my dad was paying for it on his credit card, i get treated like a criminal by the bundle of joy that they have doing their customer service duties. We have always paid our bill at the holistic vet and there is a mutual relationship of trust. Unfortunately that doesnt carry over to Montclair with Dr. Richter and I can see it very clearly as to why now. Stay away from this veterinary at Montclair . They care not for your pets, they simply want your money and will try and get away with it with cold hearted tactics that are rude, unintelligent, superficial and shady, while trying to make you feel uncomfortable and that you are a hassle. Dr. Richter still has not called me back as I requested. I feel bad for people that carry on life in this manner. I pray that good will find you. Is it true Dr. Richter owns Montclair?
Lovely staff, easy to get an appointment, almost no wait once I got there.
The avian vet on staff is wonderful, extremely knowledgeable, definitely knows what she's doing, which depressingly enough, it's hard to find someone like this for birds. She has definitely been someone to rely on with my kids.
I highly recommend Montclair Vet Hosp. Dr. Noel Grandrath is an excellent doctor, a caring and knowledgeable professional, and she has my full confidence. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Even my cats Miki and Olympia seem not to mind the exams too much. Parking is easy. BTW, the office cat - a living picture of tranquility - is better than any medicine for lowering blood pressure. (My name is an alias, trying to avoid being googled to death by spam.)
This is a great place! I am so glad that I found the docs at Montclair Vet Hospital; I just wished I had discovered them sooner. My wonderful 15 year old dog was very ill and we kept taking her to our regular vet. She was seriously misdiagnosed at this vet. Someone told me about the Montclair Veterinary Hospital and I called and they saw us right away. Within 10 minutes they were able to (unfortunately) diagnose my dog with advanced cancer. At this point there wasn't anything that could be done except to make her comfortable. Our previous vet had been giving us antibiotics for a stomach ailment! Sadly, our dog passed away. We have a new dog now and he is 1 1/2 years old. We have been taking him to Montclair Vet since the day we got him and he is not going anywhere else! Great vets, great staff, wonderful follow-up. Bring your pets to them!!
Great place. Very knowledgeable. They treat pets very well. Entire staff is wonderful. We can always get an appointment. Easy parking. What could be better?
We have had nothing less than the best care and service from Montclair Veterinary Hospital since our first visit 3 years ago. The doctors and staff have always accommodated our elderly cat even if a last minute appointment is needed. In addition, their fees are more than reasonable which is a rarity. We live 12+ miles from their office but both my cat and I are happy to go the distance to know that we will be in great care.
Great doctors and staff. Accessible location. Clean. Very personalized service - they always remember my dogs names and birthdays. A little expensive...but worth it to me for the care we receive.
The standard of care at MVH is excellent. Anyone who's ever helped me and my dog and cat has been professional without being cold and friendly without being saccharine. My pets feels comfortable and leave without the shakes. I know I can trust the medical advice I get for them, because of the holistic ideals of the organization (rather than just having antibiotics thrown at them simply because we've walked in the door). I've been a happy customer for five years now and recommend MVH to anyone who has a pet. Thanks, all!
Dr Richter and Montclair Vet have cared for our dogs for almost 12 years. The love and compassion that they show the animals is sincere and appreciated. Their professionalism, knowledge, and willingness to try holistic options as well are comforting when one of our little ones needs help. Thanks!
Fantastic staff. They are the pediatricians for your pet. Barbarella hates the carrier, and going to the vet is always stressful for her. They, and the environment there, are both excellent for relaxing your pet.
Great doc, and the vet techs were all super nice. Especially like the online appointment schedulers.
Dr. Richter is a great vet and the entire staff of Montclair Vet do a great job. I appreciated their pragmatic approach to vaccinations and the exemplary care for a tumor removal surgery.
It's got animals
What a great place! I bring my birds for treatment and checkups here and the staff at the clinic is amazing. They have helped one of my birdies with her bleeding beak and guided me through the recovery process very fast. I would recommend this place a 100%!
A+++
We've taken our dog here for years and we love them. They're great with our high stress little guy and usually super easy to get an appointment, even same day.
Been going to Montclair Vet for almost 10 years... have had as many as three dogs and two cats at one time, they've been wonderful to us and provided the highest level of care and comfort to my family. I see any doctor that is available, they're all exceptional. Dr Richter and his team of Doctors and Technicians have shown the utmost care for my furbabies; I wouldnt go anywhere else.
This Vet Clinic has the mother of all high prices. Their methodology is all about upselling every possible test and procedure to make Richter money.
Since I'm new to the East Bay, and now live in Montclair, I was thrilled to find Montclair Vet. I adopted two kittens from Hopalong, and subsequently took them in for their "well baby" check ups. I was so impressed with the attentiveness and caring, friendliness, and skill, of the people who waited on us, from the front desk to the doctor. There were two emergencies while I was there, and I couldn't be more impressed with how these animals and their owners were treated. I would not hesitate to recommend Montclair Veterinary Hospital.
We have been bringing our dogs here for several years. The veterinarians here are good. At times it is difficult to get an appointment at a workable time.
Very caring and attentive vets and staff. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.
We have taken our two dogs here for quite some time and have always felt like we're getting great service, whether it's an unfortunate emergency visit or a route check-up. In our experience, the prices tend to be a bit high, but worth it for the quality and consistency of care.
This business used to be great. Now they are owned by a corporation and their service is now terrible. Avoid at all cost.
Best vet in the Bay Area!
They love dogs.
The best care I received for my fur baby ever
Great location, great staff, professional, and friendly place.
