I seriously LOVE everyone who works at American Pet Hospital.Talk about customer service... they treated my 2 dogs like kings. i walked in and the place was packed. yet they were extremely efficient in getting my dogs treated. i have no reason to go anywhere else....any negative comments on here are probably from people who cant afford it. and believe me.. they were very affordable. thank you so much Dr sandhu!

Dr. Sandu is great, very informative, competent. Sad thing is he isn't a good judge of another Vets skills, he hired a completely incompetent, very old white haired man who has NO business treating animals, doesn't care about the animal or the owners just about what your going to pay him. Read the reviews he has been there for years so many bad reviews. The guy is the worst, and Dr. Sandu keeps allowing him to work at his clinic. Dr. Sandu, please listen to your customers and get this horrible excuse for a Vet out of your business, he will ruin you, not care and move on to the next place, while you will have lost your practice and the respect of the animal loving community.

My dog is epileptic so she takes the drug phenobarbital. Every month I have to go in and get her a new prescription. I guess according to the state law, I have to take her in once a year for blood work, which I understand. It is around $120 dollars. It didn't have the money on top of the office visit fee, so I asked the doctor if he could wait until several more months until I was able to take my dog in for blood work, but that I was able to continue getting her medication. He said it was fine that I do that. Well, it has only been a month since my dog ran out of medication and I called the hospital to get her prescription refilled. Well, when I called they didn't have anything in my dog's file that the doctor said it was okay for me to get the prescription again even though he said it was okay a month ago. Not only that, the lady that told me that it was a controlled substance and made me feel like I was using it for personal use. I have angry, but held it in. She also said that the last time the doctor seen my dog was last year and they need to see her again. I understood, I have already talked to the doctor. I had more than one incident to and the staff is very rude. Once I am able to better afford it, I am taking both my dachshunds elsewhere.

I went with my mom to put down her cat that was sick this last weekend. The front lady clerks were so nice. As for the Indian vet that actually put down our fur baby.... WHAT A EFFIN JOKE. He never once explained what exactly was going to happen (which an owner needs to know to confirm their fur baby will be put down peacefully) Then he went to administer the injection and had his assistant physically hold down my moms cat instead of asking if she wanted to comfort him. SERIOUSLY? So not compassionate. They didn't offer a sedative before hand and we truly didn't know that makes the horrific experience a bit more easier... so he directly injected the meds to stop the heart without one. Then when our poor babies eyes didn't close my mom asked "Well is he gone?! His eyes aren't closed yet!" And he responded "They won't close. It's okay. His heart will eventually stop." Then left the room. IF YOU EVER WANT TO HAVE A PEACEFUL AND HUMANE GOODBYE WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL FUR BABY PLEASE DONT GO HERE. The experience was sooooo traumatizing I wouldn't ask this on my worst enemy.

DO NOT GET DR. JACOBS THOUGH! THE OTHERS ARE GREAT! I wanted to be with my Bubba when I put him down but I could not afford the extra visit cost and stuff. So I said I could not do it.The office staff paid it and I got to be with my Bubba. I like the vet . i also liked Sylvan Vet but Sylvan was almost double the price!!

They killed my cat. They did her procedure to fast. She was on ivs and they gave her the antibiotics to fast and she didnt have any energy to fight. If anything is that sick why pump that medicine in then. Wait for the ivs to kick in then when she seems like she has energy give it to her. I will never trust them again. Screwed me out of hella money. Doctor was rude over the phone telling me my cat passed. And my cat has been dead sinse last night and I an finding out at 1 oclock in the afternoon

The worst customer service experience I have ever had. In any field. I coordinated customer service seminars for years and I would be happy to give some MUCH NEEDED advice: 1 - don't hang up on callers 2 - say, "do you have an emergency, or can I place you on a brief hold" before you rudely cut the potential customer off and put them on hold 3 - subscribe to a hold recording service rather than have someone listen to dead air for a few minutes. 4 - don't cut off a person mid-sentence (that is basic proper social etiquette) 5 - take notes if you have a problem with concentration and information retention so the caller is not having to repeat themselves 6 - smile when you speak. It reflects through your tone of voice Your front office staff is the first contact a potential client has with your clinic. Invest in the best team possible.

They cropped my doberman ears at American pet hospital and I was satisfied until the wrapping step. They over tighten the tape cutting my puppies ears circulation I took him in for them to wrap his ears again but when they took the tape off they hurt his ears taking some skin off. I had to post my puppies ears myself thank god they came out good. I Won't ever consider takin my pets there again.

They basically butchered my dogs for spay and neuter procedure. Luckily they survived, but they will have scars to last them the rest of their. The stitches are sloppy and haphazard. I regret bringing them here and will never go there again.

This staff is very friendly, you can tell they love the job. The vet is knowledge and the animals seem to like him. This vet is clearly not in it for the money. I shopped around and he had the best prices. The meds are adorable and they have no problem calling it into your local pharmacy if you need them to. If you have pets you need to check them out. They are open 24 hours too!!!

I’ve been taking my golden retrievers here for years but never have been satisfied. (5 different dogs total) My last straw was when I took my 9 year old golden for a check up on his ears. I had an appointment at 2 PM didn’t get into a room until 245 waited for a veterinarian doctor for 15 minutes , Just for him to walk into the room, he takes a deep breath, and he says your dog stinks I know exactly what he needs, walks out and he comes back 20 minutes later with the price of the operation. EXPENSIVE. OBVIOUSLY. I was really upset because fiRst of all, HE DIDNT EVEN TOUCH MY DOG. HE OPEN THE DOOR, inhaled and closed the door. All for $80 while Ranger waits to greet someone new . I immediately commented and said you didn’t even look at my dog. He commented “Honey I’ve been doing this for 50+ years I know when I smelt him, what it was.” I replied “ I don’t appreciate how you said it, you were quick, you didn’t even touch or greet him”. I think they are very unprofessional and just because you’ve been doing this for a very long time, doesn’t mean you know everything. Rude, greedy, and not right to be a vet. Don’t EVER treat my Golden like that again.

didn't tell us much about our dogs problems. I felt ruched to explain what was wrong and after we asked our questions they just left us in our room. we paid money for the same information the pet-smart gave us. go to pet-smart first befor you spend the money.

The doctors and the staff here are wonderful to our pets and to our family. They have helped both keep them alive and well. And sadly have helped some pass. They are very compassionate and truely care. Id never go to another vet. After 19 years going here they are family. What other vet would stab open late just for your pet? And the prices you cant beat anyplace. All around I can't say enough about this great office.

The staff at this office were amazing. I spoke with 4 different offices in the modesto/jamestown area and I have to say all the others were cold and all about the dollar, not the patients needs. As much joy as animals bring to us i was saddened by the responses I received from the staff. They must have forgotten why they chose this field to work in. They prescribed wrong medication.They killed my dog. They are not equipped for real problems. They did not even try to save my dog. He walked in and we had to carry him out, DEAD. I'm sure these people have made a lot of enemies. They should be jailed. Curse is removed.

Camry at the front desk is a delight, and happens to love our dog which makes it so fun. Kim is always helpful and kind too, even though they’re both quite busy. The prices are fair as well, which is a huge benefit, and they take Care Credit. We recommend APH to everyone we know. *** Update *** I did take one of my puppies here at 5 weeks, since she always struggled to grow and had some obvious health issues. I ended up seeing the older vet; I think his name is Dr. Jacobs. He didn't really give her much of an exam and just said she was 'genetically weak' and would always be sick. He took her temp rectally and pushed it in about 2" into a 6" long teeny pug puppy. She cried out and continued to, as he bent the thermometer around to read it while it was still too far inside her. :( When it came out it was bloody, and he brushed off my shock, saying "They don't make those things for babies!" I don't like to give them this report, because I do like the front staff a lot, and Dr. Sandhu has been good to us, but I'd hate for anyone else to have that experience. So, if you go, see Dr. Sandhu. There can also be pretty long wait times - up to an hour.

I'm so disappointed after today's appointment. This was my third visit and the first two went very well. I was reccommened by the breeder (From Vallejo) that this was the best place in town and after today when I pretty much got yelled at by a Dr Jacob. (He was very rude and judgemental) I told him I did not want to make any decisions on more vaccines until my Fiance was with me. Dr Jacob at this point still continued to raised his voice and went about saying how the breeder I got my puppy from did not give proper vaccines and it was almost like he was threatening and trying to scare me into making a decision telling me with his voice raised on how long he's been a Vet and so on... Even tried to force me to call my Fiance at his work to get an answer. Wow is all I have to say. To be treated like this was very uncomfortable and I wished that Dr Singh or Dr Sanduh would have mentioned anything to me that was reccomended when I had the two visits prior with my Fiance.

I have been bringing my pets here for years...dr. Sandhu was very nice and caring...he even told me about unecessary costs before i paid. definately affordable. Huge mistake taking our new puppy in for the puppy package....i have been stuck with dr. Jacobs...obviously in it to sell anything extra possible....he didnt even touch my dog...didnt even look like he wanted to come into the room. After my puppy plan...which i already paid for....is through...not coming back here

Horrible service! What ever service they did do I paid over a hundred dollars on blood work that they never showed me the results to on top of that they took my dog to the other room to do the blood work I asked if I could go back with her I was rudely Told NO! By the end of the visit we were told that our dog has stage two kidney failure and could die at anytime. That was in April. Since then she has gained weight and the symptoms she was having seemed to have faded. I honestly think my dog may have had a kidney infection she is 14 years old, but trying to sell us expensive medicine was the drs main focus. MONEY HUNGRY!!!!

They were not able to recognize Bartonella in my kitty even after I paid several hundred dollars to them. They wouldn't tell me if they actually did or did not give my cat the antibiotic i paid them to give her. They force her mouth open and shoved food down her throat and released her to us without caring if she was actually ok. When i called and told them that my son has Bartonella and really needed to know if my cat had an antibiotic or not and what blood test i paid for the girl answering was rude and never called back. If you care about your pets or children do not go here!

both my dogs were shot with a 4/10 my pittbull got shot twice my aussie/wolf hound mix one in the chest.the staff at american took great care of all of us. they didnt just treat the dogs they took care of our crazy asses to and know this we were of the hook. happy to say we are all doing wonderful there after care is great to . our family loves and respects all the staff at american love always munchie,pandora ,gwenda and joshuah campbell mccoy. i would give them 10 stars if i could.

The Vet is personable and nice, however after care services apparently non existent. Usually owners are given a list of things to watch for after their pets surgery, a number to call if problem occur. Nothing. There website states they offer a senior discount, not true. "That's from our old website" . Really, I think they should update the site and not deceive seniors. Seemed like they were not concerned or were unaware as to how to best serve their clients and pets. Not what I expected nor used to regarding animal care.

I would NEVER recommend anyone to bring their animal to American Pet Hospital on coffee rd in Modesto. By far the absolute most insensitive, and inconsiderate staff. My dog, who meant more to me than anything else in my life, recently passed away so I took him to American Pet Hospital the morning of June 26th right when they opened, so I could have him cremated and bring him back home. I had a lot of concerns about this process, but my main question was, "When can I pick him back up and bring him home?" They made it clear to me that "within two weeks" someone would be contacting ME, to go pick him up. So I waited two weeks and a day then called, I was told they don't know where he's at in the process yet so for me to call back...this went on for one month. I got really irritated and told them if it was going to be longer, to at least give me that realistic time frame instead of having me run circles not knowing what's going on. Every single person I had talked to over this passed month has been extremely insensitive and uncaring and unhelpful. I was promised that YESTERDAY he'd be ready for me to go pick up. I had to work so I called today first thing and now they're telling me possibly Thursday because they messed up on what I wanted written on his plaque on his urn box. Like are you kidding me???? They do not see this is a priority when it really needs to be one. For most people, their pet is their life. The fact that my pet died, and they saw how distraught I was the morning of his passing, taking him in, and they're in no hurry to return him or even at the very least be kind in helping inform me throughout the process, shows a lot about the way they treat their patients and their patients owners. Not ONCE have they ever called me this past month. I've called multiple times every week. I hope none of you ever experience what I'm going through with them. Not only am I already going through a really heartbreaking time because of my loss, but American Pet hospital's staff is just adding such a huge load of more pain and stress to this time for me when they should be most sensitve. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ANIMALS. By the way, tomorrow marks one month of dropping him off and I still do not have him back in my custody yet.

Recently I went to American Pet Hospital because my dog had an eye infection. I usually go to my normal vet but it is a bit of a drive and being that this clinic was close I thought I would try it out. Upon coming into the clinic I noticed that the front desk woman was constantly leaving her desk to use the bathroom so a woman who I am assuming is a vet tech at the clinic had to step in to help us out. She had us fill out paperwork and almost right away called us into a room to wait for the vet. Which seemed good at the time only we sat in that room for close to 30 minutes waiting to be seen in a clinic that was no where close to busy. So after bringing this to the front desks attention they responded" wow you havent been seen yet?! I wonder what the hold up is? You guys have been in there forever." Immediately after we said something the vet came in. He took one look at our dogs eye and took a guess that he had a fox tail stuck in it. He wanted to put him under local anesthesia and put a needle into his eye to probe around and see if there was a foxtail stuck in it. He went on to say that this would cost maybe a few hundred dollars! I was shocked, I have been around animals all my life and I know the first thing a vet will usually do is examine the dog and then put a colored liquid in their eye to see if there is a scratch first before suggesting anything more serious. I asked him why would he suggest something so evasive when he only took one look at his eye? He said that he just wouldnt know what the cause of problem was until he got a good look around in his eye. I was horrified. We waited for 30 minutes only to have a vet look at our dog for 50 seconds and then talk to us for 1 minute about probing into our poor dogs eye while he was only under local anesthesia for hundreds of dollars!!! So I decided to leave, I wasnt going to put my dog through this when I was sure it was just a simple infection or a scratch. While waiting to pay my 28 dollar "visit fee" which should have been waived since the vet spent a whole 2 minutes with us,the front desk woman talked to a man about his cats when she could see we were ready to pay and leave. So after waiting for a long time we decided to walk out after that horrible experience and only when we walked out did a vet tech run after us saying that we didnt pay. We gave her the money and when we told her what the vet had said she just said "oh yeah yeah..." as if that was a typical thing for him to rush to do an extreme surgery before checking anything out before. So we left extremely upset with this awful visit.The next day we took our dog to our normal vet where we found out he just had a scratch on his eyeball, we will have to apply ointment on his eye for it to heal, they found this scratch without using any needles or putting our dog in any pain like the vet at American Pet Hospital suggested. I apologize for this post being so long but I am simply appauled that there is a vet out there performing or suggesting to perform services like this on innocent animals who may just have a simple problem like a scratch on his eye like my dog did. In my opinion this vet just wants to make money by charging his clients for unncessary procedures. So if you care about your animals please do not take them to this clinic. The vet visits may cost a little more else where but your animals deserve better care than what this place offers. Worst vet visit I have ever been to, from the front desk to that vet, they should all be ashamed of how they run that clinic.

Old white doctor is really in this for the money. Doesn't care about your animal at all just wants to do what's easiest for him and shove product down your throat I wouldn't recommend.
