Our cat had a bite wound on his back, that seemed pretty minor. In fact, the local vet who had seen him just two days ago, did not even pay it any attention. Come Saturday night, the wound had abscessed horribly, was oozing bloody pus at a prodigious rate, and clearly needed treatment. Called local vet's number and they have nobody on call. Referred us to this place some thirty miles from our home. When we got there, the young man at the front desk was extremely courteous and helpful. Certainly made us feel better about dealing with people we did not know. We were taken to an examination room and seen by Dr. Penny Fleischer, and by a very nice assistant. They came back with a recommendation of surgery to clean the wound, and install a drain. They provided us with a very detailed estimate of costs, ranging from a bit over $1,100 to as much as $1,800. They gave us time to think about it, and even came up with an alternative of simply cleaning it up, giving him antibiotics, and antiinflamatories. This latter procedure was expected to cost around $300 and would require the cat to stay overnight. While we were mulling over what action to take, they had two very critical emergencies come in (dogs hit by cars), so we were kept waiting a short while so they could stabilize those animals. The vet spent a considerable amount of time discussing treatment and alternatives with us, which was really appreciated.
The facility is very clean, modern, and well appointed.
I'm very grateful to them, and would recommend them to others.
The next day when I picked up the cat, there was a different attendant at the from desk, and she, too, was super courteous and friendly. Even offered to help me carry the cat out to my car.
Great folks.
