Great place! Dr. Beard and his staff treated our dog like it was one of their's. Our dog had to get his leg amputated. Our normal Vet recommended Dr. Beard and said that's who he would trust with his critters. That says a lot. Dr. Beard did a great job and kept us informed personally. Hopefully don't have to go back but if we do, Dr. Beard is who we would use for surgery on our pets (more like our kids)! Thanks Doc, Glenda and rest of the crew.
Prices are fair and they do a damn good job.
The care of our dog has been fine yet the honestly in prices has been very deceiving more than once. I ask for price of cleaning teeth for my small dog, I was told a surgery time was available so she knew it would be put to sleep. I was quoted 189.00 unless teeth had to be pulled....2 small teeth and one jaw tooth were pulled and my bill jumped to 430.00. Maybe I should have called around or maybe that is normal but I felt mislead. I never even saw the Vet that day. For that price I would have expected details.
Dr. Beard has seen three of our pets and has treated each very well. He is thorough and very up front about what is going on with your pet. I know my girls are in good hands with him and his staff. Would recommend West Prince to anyone.
I have used West Prince Animal Hospital for 7 years now. They are WONDERFUL. I had a dog of 13 years who was a diabetic. Her life was saved by Dr. Beard several times and lived a much longer life than expected. My current Yorkies LOVE going to the vet. They have no fear of going to Dr. Beard or his staff. The staff is always so helpful and knows my animals by name. They care. They really care about the animals and go above and beyond to take really great care of them. I love this clinic and would never think about switching my primary vet or my emergency care center. I would definitely say that your pet would be in the BEST of hands while at the West Prince Animal Hospital.
Friendly and caring staff that take great care of our fur baby.
I have had the most excellent experience when dealing with Dr. Beard and his staff. They are always so helpful, knowledgable, and PATIENT! Every staff member is incredibly friendly and its obvious that they love animals and have true empathy for the humans that happen to bring them in. I have been going to Dr. Beard for about 5 years now and have been impressed with every visit. I had adopted a dog from the pound that I was immediately in love with. It turned out that the animal was very sick and at death's door. Dr. Beard's staff talked honestly about the cost of caring for the sweet dog, but never pressured me to do anything other than what felt was in the best interest of the animal. I opted to pay for the treatment of the animal. It took about a week for the sweet dog to come back around and Dr. Beard's staff called me at least once a day to keep me updated on his progress (without me even having to ask). They saved that sweet dog! I now take Atlas, my dog, to Dr. Beard and see the same care and attention devoted to him with each visit. Dr. Beard is a competent and empathetic vet who has built a staff who focuses on truly caring for animals and their humans. Thank you West Prince Animal Hospital! K & Atlas
Nice, friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
This is the best vet in Conway. Staff is wonderful
Caring supportive
When your dog is sick, you want to feel comfortable leaving them under someone else’s care. I absolutely feel confident that my girl is getting the attention and care she needs here. Dr. Beard always gives helpful information & advice and he takes time caring for our pups. The nurses and receptionist care about our girls too-they always treat them great & make sure to ask how they’re doing when we come in. It goes a long way knowing your pup isn’t being ignored or mistreated when they need help the most. Plus, the prices are as affordable as they can possibly be and I don’t feel overcharged receiving care here.
The staff is so kind and caring. They are very efficient and organized. Wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.
WPAH and Dr Beard are simply wonderful. Highly recommended by our friends who have many (older) dogs, we made an appointment for a second opinion for our aging girl. The staff were highly aware of our emotional state and distress about our girl. Dr Beard and both staff that were there were extremely empathetic to us, to our girl. Dr Beard is cheerful, thorough and best of all straight forward and no nonsense. He won't sugar coat or beat around the bush. Dr Beard will tell you in definite terms whether your prolonging your pet for you, or for them. Our girl has cancer in her sinus. There's no running away from it. Yes, the biopsy and stuff will be expensive. No, there's absolutely no way we can afford it. I'm pretty sure they know this. We have learned that aside from the tumor/s our girl is in really good condition for an elderly lass, and even if we were to get the biopsy and following surgery to remove her cancer it's a high probability that it would reoccur in 18mo or so. She's an old lady. 14yrs of love and a cush life. She's still loved and pampered and will be till she's out on the property under a tree forever. What Dr Beard has done for us is to help us know that Yes, she's sick. No, she's not in pain (yet). So prolonging her life is for Her. We will be taking all 3 of our dogs to Dr Beard now. Some people just don't realize that vets need an extra layer of detachment from pets than human docs do. Humans are just people. Pets run differently through our lives. Thank you to everyone at WPAH. You do it right. What scares the daylights out of me is our boy just started coughing this morning. Just chuffing coughs. But almost constant. WPAH is closed till Monday and we can't afford Maumelle's ER clinic right now. Dr Beard, we'll be seeing you again Very Soon.
Dr. Beard and his nurse are so nice and helpful. My dogs don't hate going to the vet
I had a bad experience with my dog..he was breathing heavy on last Friday vet said he had six months to a yr to live and he died next day. Vet said had a heart murmur and thats why he had a hard time breathing and will be taking meds from now on out. My son brought him home dog was still breathing heavy and I knew poor thing would not make it thru weekend but called them at office and they said he would be fine and he was not fine he died. The diagnosis could of been handled better and how do you say your dog has 6 months to a yr to live and dies next day and the lady that answered phone said when they monitored him he was fine .I will say again he was not fine he died! I called to let them know I was very disappointed and lady answered phone did not seem to care much and had little bit of attitude .I can't help but say if your vet tells you he xrayed ypur dog and gives you diagnosis says 6 months to a yr to live and dies next day something is not right. I am really hurt and disappointed with the services and will not bring my pets to the office again.this was a horrible experience for me and my son
Great vet
Always very kind and very thorough, even sitting on the floor to build an animals trust. I've always felt that Dr. Beard was honest, and never encouraged a procedure that he didn't feel was necessary just for a bigger bill. His staff is personable and caring, and obviously care about animals. I wouldn't want to go to any other vet when it comes to the wellness care of my fur-babies.
I can't say enough about the team at West Prince Animal Hospital. They are professional, kind and informative. I have completely trusted them with my pets. It's actually turned into my entire family's clinic of choice!
Great staff very friendly
Staff was professional and nice.
Dr. Beard and his staff are wonderful! I've never been to a vet that cares so much about the animals they see. When our elderly cat had to be put to sleep, they were so caring and compassionate. They even sent us a sympathy card in the mail. Also, when our dog got sick from eating something they squeezed us in last minute and called to check on her 2 times in the next couple of days.
The people at this animal hospital are truly special people having the utmost respect and well-being for your pets. I'll never take our cats somewhere else if I can help it.
The Vet and the staff that work there very nice and friendly! I brought my cat in with no notice and they took him. They were more than caring.
Dr. Beard and his staff are a blessing from God! I highly recommend to everyone! They took good care of OREO for me. I had been to many vets in Conway, and they could not tell me what was wrong with my puppy (weird huh). I was going BROKE and I was about to give him up because I couldn't afford to keep taking him to the vet and them telling me the same thing. I took him to Dr. Beard and he gave me an answer other vets in Conway couldn't and it was SIMPLE, he was low on sugar. My puppy would not eat for some reason. They told me exactly what to do to help him become better, and To build up his appetite to eat regular dog food, they told me I had to hand feed him baby food ( and it WORKED). If Oreo got low on energy and stopped Being himself, I simply gave him sugar and he was back to normal. I was a college student and working student, and they were kind enough some days to nurse Oreo back to normal while I was at school. These people at this clinic are a blessing! The staff was so nice and so helpful! They even called some days to check on Oreo and ask how he's doing. I thank God he sent me to this clinic because they saved my puppy. I am forever thankful for what they did at this clinic, they don't know how much they impacted my life and helped me in my time of need.
Excellent staff.
I have been to Dr. Beard on several occasions. My dog was treated very well. From having shots to having his manhood removed (can you say that for a dog?) they were great! Would absolutely suggest West Prince Animal Hospital to friends and family.
I took my 6 month old rescue kitten Buster to this clinic on the recommendation of Dr. Ward from Springhill, Ark. My kitten when I found him was between 4-6 weeks old and had a broken pelvis. Almost everyone of my friends told me I needed to just go ahead and put him down then, but I just couldn't. During the 6 months Buster had issues with urinating, Dr. Ward did all he could to help Buster, but as Buster got older, he got worse. Dr. Ward called Dr. Beard and told him about Buster and wanted him to take a look at Buster to see what he could do to help him. I could tell when I met Dr. Beard and his assistants that they were concerned and wanted to do what they could for Buster. I left him there so they could do tests and come up with a solution for Buster. When I went to pick Buster up, Dr. Beard said he needed to discuss some things with me. He showed me the x-rays and explained in detail what he found and what he did and what options were available for Buster, none of which was good. He gave Buster a 50/50 chance of surviving surgery and even said if he did, he would be in pain practically all the time. I couldn't do that to Buster and it was the hardest decision I had to make. But they brought Buster in and so I could have time with him and make the decision of what was best for Buster. They did not rush me, they let me have the time I needed to say my goodbye and ask forgiveness from Buster. Dr. Beard explained the process and kept saying Buster would be grateful for what you are doing for him. After it was over, Dr. Beard hugged me and told me that God is smiling now that he has Buster in his arms. His assistant took Buster and wrapped him up for me and placed him in the pet carrier so I could take him home. But she made sure I was able to drive as I was really doing some crying and was so upset. She took Buster out to the car for me and asked me if I was okay enough to drive and I said yes. She said it's hard to let them go, but in Buster's case it was the best for him. He is pain free now. I just want to say that this experience was not the best for me emotionally but for Buster and seeing how the Dr. Beard and his staff was truly concerned for him and me, I am truly thankful. I would take any of my four-legged family members to him any time.
