Professionalism, honesty and compassion goes a long way in a tragic event such as losing a part of your family (dog) due to malpractice on your part. Sadly this place showed absolutely none to our great grand dog parents who' are suffering. Please keep your pets away from this vet if you want them to continue to live. Dr. Andrea and her husband had just taken ownership of the Oakwood Animal Hospital , the first time we went we found not only Medical Caretakers for our animals but people that became family, something we didn’t have here. My dog, Molly, is difficult to deal with when she is nervous, but Dr. Strecker was very patient and professional through the entire visit. Absolutely the worst vet in the area. I took my dog in because she was experiencing seizures. My regular vet was booked and it was an emergency as she had 4 seizures in a 2 hour period. In the time I was there all i received was a $50 exam in which she stood at the table and listed every single thing it could possibly be. She kept trying to sell herself (talking about what a hero she was to animals) and sell products. Before I agreed to anything I wanted to know price. She quoted me $650 because she wanted to run every test she could think of. I would absolutely pay this if it were necessary but there seemed to be no logic to what she was choosing to test. I said I would like to start with the small things and eliminate possibilities rather than pay that much all at once. She started to admonish me and made me feel like I was a bad caretaker for my dog because I wanted to do it this way. After many accusations i decided I would take my business elsewhere. I decided to make an appointment with my usual vet for the next day. When I went in they determined that she had idiopathic epilepsy. They ran tests and all of the "possibilities" that she listed were unfounded. For instance, she said there was an ear infection that would cost 120 dollars at minimum to clear up. There was no ear infection. All i received was a crap diagnosis, a jacked up price, and attitude from a doctor who sure does think a lot of herself. I will never return.

Oakwood Pet Hospital and it's wonderful Doctor saved my dogs life! My dog had to have emergency abdominal surgery due to a birth defect and if it weren't for the Doctor's thoroughness and amazing ability he would not be here today! Also, because they offer laser surgery and laser therapy his recovery was so much faster!! Thank you Oakwood! Would not trust our pets care to anyone else!

I was not impressed with this vet at all. First time there and she didn't even introduce herself as the vet. She was friendly enough, but I felt like she was trying to sell me stuff the entire time I was there. I felt like the visit was very expensive, especially for what we had done.

The doctor and staff at Oakwood Pet Hospital are wonderful! They genuinely care about the safety and overall health of our animals often taking a time to thoroughly explain treatment options, diet care and safety of different foods and medicines as needed for our fur babies. They often call days after a visit just to make sure everyone is doing well. We’ve been going to Oakwood for years and trust all our vet needs to Oakwood!

Most horrible vet experience ever had in my life. Cost over $700 just for checkups. Constantly trying to upsell products, even going as far as following me to my car and calling me later in the week to offer me coupons on additional products. When I called to cancel my follow up appointment because I didn't want to deal with them further, and they asked why I didn't want to come back the office. However when I tried to share my honest feedback the staff got defensive and argumentative and hung up on me. If you don't care, then don't ask, then talk over me. Very unprofessional staff, and the clinic smells bad. EDITED POST SCRIPT IN RESPONSE - Obviously this vet lacks professionalism even in responding to public customer reviews, but I wouldn't expect any more, which is why I cancelled my appointment. It's important to note that the dog you reference as not being leash trained and having to pick up was a 3 month old puppy that was rescued from the woods, and as a responsible pet owner, I will find a professional veterinarian with a professional staff who can appropriately serve customers and their pets. You can accuse me of sharing false information, but I hope that mine and other negative reviews here give potential customers the opportunity to prevent you from taking advantage of others by wasting their time and money. You obviously overcharge customers because you have so few.

***update I was given a discount on my over priced appointment because I wrote this review I won't trust anyone else with the care of our family Great Dane puppy. Absolutely the most experienced, knowledgeable and friendly place I've ever taken a pet. We have had our share of concerns about our pet, and have always left the office completely reassured and educated on everything we came for and even answers to questions we didn't even know to ask about. Andrea is incredible and will work wonders, if you're looking for a veterinarian for your furry family members, look no further!

If you want good, knowledgeable veterinary care for your furry friend, look no further. They will work hard to prioritize your care and thus save you money. As a veterinarian myself I found myself in a bit of a bind as I was no longer in clinical practice. At Oakwood my needs were listened to and the doctor practices the highest level of veterinary care. You won't go wrong setting up an appointment here. It's funny though if you notice within the last few weeks there have been a lot of negative reviews from people who don't even go here. If there is a one star posted within the past 2 weeks or so please be aware there's a negative smear campaign going on. These people should be ashamed of themselves for trying to tank a small, locally owned business.

They are a horrible pet hospital. I took my little shitzu Prince there to get surgery and when i came back i was notified that he had passed. We trusted them with the care of our beloved pooch. They were so rude afterwards and were giving us conflicting stories. The doctor was so rude.

Dr. Strecker is the best vet we've ever used. She recently diagnosed our two dogs with serious health conditions, one of which was life-threatening. Because of the mileage we travel just for our dogs to get the best care with Dr. Strecker (we drive to Bentonville from Conway) and because of the multiple tests we have had to run, she has tried to discount as much as she could. She has also been very caring about our nervous Yorkie and made accommodations to lessen his stress when he's there at her clinic for hours at a time. Emma, her assistant, is just as caring. The whole staff go above and beyond to take care of our fur babies. I wouldn't trust any other vet in the area to care for my dogs' conditions. She's extremely knowledgeable and willing to research for additional options when the ones she knows of won't work. You will not go wrong with using Dr. Strecker for your beloved pets' healthcare needs.
