Dr. Smith and his staff are knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Smith's knowledge of illnesses/conditions is encyclopedic and his surgical skills are excellent. They always take wonderful care of my pets and of the ferals I take up to be neutered, whom they treat as gently as treasured pets.

Will NOT be bringing my baby back to this clinic EVER!!! Dr. Smith is horrible. He wouldn't explain anything to me and guessed at what was wrong with my furchild. Saying she had an infection and he THOUGHT it was in her lungs but he wasnt sure.... We had explained we didn't have much money to work with but we couldn't not bring her in, she was to sick and we needed answers. He told us our financial struggles where not his fault (which we never said they were) and told us he'd only give us the amount of work we were able to pay for. Not willing to set up any sort of billing oranything. Drew her blood and gave us an antibiotic and told us to leave.. Took her to a different vet the following week because she wasn't doing any better and they found that she had two types of worms and treated her immediately. Something so simple and so easy to fix for my baby and he couldn't even be bothered. He gave her antibiotics for respiratory infection when that's not even what the problem was in the first place. He needs to retire... he isn't kind to animals or their owners.

Very good veterinarian's. Clean facilities and great care for my dog. Only thing I have concerns about is when I call about shots, procedures etc. I get a price quote and when it's all said and done it's usually more than I was quoted. Otherwise top notch .

We had just moved to the area my husband found an injured puppy at work. I spent the morning calling around to figure out how I could help this critter without spending a ton of money. Strays are supposed to be free right? I called places from my old town (an hour away) thinking I would be able to find the best deals there and they were suggested by the Humane Society when I called them to see if they had recommendations. I was looking at $200 dollars to get her checked out. I decided, just for the heck of it, to call locally and I'm glad I did. Not only where their prices considerably lower ($165 for an x-ray in big town and only $60 at Cross County) the experience was great! They're open on Saturday (which is when the puppy would be coming home) and really quick about getting to everyone. When we arrived, the place was packed, but it only took me an hour for the whole visit. They told me how old she was and we talked about the puppy's injury. They set her up with her shots and flea medication. They listened to my concerns and were very helpful. The puppy even had an accident in the room and they cleaned it up with no scowls or unpleasant looks. They really are wonderful. They send out emails about the next visit (for the second round of shots) and you can make your appointment from the computer. Our second visit was just as great. They did the x-ray this time and we looked at it and talked about what was going on. They referred me to a vet that would be able to handle what we would need to have done to fix Pogo. All in all, it's a nice facility, with nice vets and staff, great prices, great care, and a quick experience.

This is the best Clinic around without question. The entire staff truly cares about our fur babies. I drive 40 miles one way to use this Clinic. They care more about our fur babies than they care about the almighty dollar.

Love this man! Update: Dr Smith is retiring. He's only there about a day and a half per week. But his niece is taking over his Veterinary practice. If she's half as good as he is it will be a great place still. Update again. I believe his niece passed away. Not sure who is there now. I DO know I need more of a holistic vet who is concerned more with a tiny ... under 3# dog.

Katie had a bout of "cold tail" while duck hunting this past week in ARK. Our friend Laura Balch recommended her vet and they quickly made an appointment for Katie and took great care of her. Went in for a heart worm index and was in and out in no time. The staff there is always friendly and helpful. They are great about sending reminders for upcoming things that are due for your pet. I love that they have office hours on Saturday. I live in cross county but I would not hesitate to travel to another vet if I did not love this one. Now if only they handled ear cropping on a Doberman lol for that I did and will have to travel, those vets are hard to come by.

I have used this clinic since the '70's.. I have complete trust and faith in the staff and Doctors. I have called for advice and for emergency help on weekdays and weekends. I have yet to hear anyone sound bothered or annoyed at having their weekend interrupted. I recommend this clinic highly. I will continue to use this clinic until I no longer own a dog.

I would vote them well but.. I can't. Friendly staff, yes, but they didn't bother with an emergency for 7 whole minutes. My puppy passed while we were waiting for them to address the issue. Yet, the lady that came in with a perfectly fine looking dog entered after us and left before us. We came in with a puppy that was too weak to even move, clearly needing help asap. My whole family is heartbroken. On top of that, the costs are tremendous here. But, I can't leave them with a very low rating. The staff is very kind and I can't leave myself to blame them wholly for what happened. My other dog passed here as well, but because of old age. Thank you for your kind service, but this place will only remind me of broken memories.

As a former vet tech and practice manager of 15 years, I was extremely concerned about finding a veterinarian near my new home that I was comfortable with and that adhered to certain standards in the field that I have spent much of my life in. The veterinarians as well as every single staff member I came across at Cross County, both the day I came in to get information and the day I brought our new pup in, went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and make me feel comfortable about entrusting my animals in their care. The information I have pertaining to heartworm and flea/tick products is dated (it's been awhile since I was in the companion animal field), but once you use something for years you find it hard to switch. You guys took the time to explain to me why a certain product was recommended over my usual go to favorites and went so far as to let me know about the current research on them. I cannot tell you how much of a comfort that is to me. Yes, most of our dogs are working dogs, but I pride myself in giving them the best care I can since they give us the best work they can do. You all are helping me to achieve that. Thank you so so much. I will be happy to recommend you to everyone I know.
