Wonder clinic and staff!
Took great care of my puppy
The Chestnut team saved my puppy's life. Another vet thought I was being paranoid but they took me seriously and ran tests to find a serious infection. He had to go in day after day for treatments and they could have charged me for visits each day but they didn't. They did their best to save us money in any way possible. They took great care of him and loved on him like he was their own. I would recommend them to anyone.
Awesome staff. Very friendly and loving tho your pet
We've taken our dogs to them for yearly checks the past couple of years, and have been pleased with them both times. They seem comparable in price to another clinic we've been to locally, and they're very patient and flexible with my dogs.
They have been my vet clinic my entire adult life. They have cared for all of my animals. When my dauchsund was attacked my coyotes, they took such good care of him the week after surgery. I can't say enough good words about the doctors, the techs, and the office staff. Truly remarkable.
Staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Waiting area was clean, quiet, and spacious. Vet was quite helpful and knowledgeable as well.
This vet is pretty good. I had a sick puppy with the usual parvo symptoms. They did tests and stated the puppy had parvo. The vet was always up front with costs, before they charge you. This vet is NOT a vet that will hold your dog hostage for some random high cost. They treated my puppy overnight just 1 night and oral meds to take home for the rest of the time. My puppy recovered really fast after the care this vet gave my puppy. The cost you may ask? I know it was less than $400 total. That includes take home meds, overnight care and everything else. I would recommend this vet.
My dog had not eaten in 24hrs and has a swollen abdomen. I showed up 15min after they opened, I didn't have an appointment and understandably they where booked on that Saturday! However this is clearly and emergency situation. The girl at the front desk told me I could wait, I told her that I could not wait in the lobby but I could wait across the street at my job because I was scheduled to work. I can see the clinic from my place of business and she tells me that they don't have time for that. Did she not have time to make the 15 second phone call, or she didn't have 3mins for me to walk across the street? For a place that should care for animals they were not willing to work with me during this emergency situation........after writing this review I was harassed on Fb by Dr. Shadoxx, he left a bad review about my services even tho he's never set foot in the salon. He demanded to know who treated my dog and the diagnosis. But they didn't care when I I was there.
Yesterday I had to put my Talley down. The staff at Chestnut animal clinic so me so much love, support and understanding. They allowed me to spend as much time as I needed before they started anything. I was blaming myself for her heart failure but the vet and staff reassured there was nothing I could do or done differently to save her. My baby girl is now in peace and I just want to thank everyone for being so kind to us
Everyone at Chestnut Animal Clinic are kind and helpful.
Excellent experience. Friendly, professional, and very sweet with my pet. I only switched because I'd moved, and they even called my old vet and got the records sent over.
Only vet in state that us
My cats refuse to go anywhere else!! Dr. Shaddox and his staff are so friendly and truly care about my precious pets, they know that we all look at our pets as family and they treat them in that exact manner. I could literally go on and on...lets just say that Dr. Shaddox has treated my family's pets for close to 30 years and we would never consider going anywhere else!! Thank you for your kindess! And my 3 cats thank you too!
They have always been kind to my dogs and kept me informed.

I spent $300 for an incorrect diagnosis, pain pills and antibiotics that weren't necessary. After 10 days on meds, my dogs condition worsened to which we returned to discover he had fluid around his organs and heart and was terminal. Originally I was told he had a bladder infection. Turned out to be much more. Needless to say I had to put my best friend down and bury him. The Dr that performed his euthanization was great as was the staff but Dr. Ken S. got it wrong and for that we will find another clinic to handle our animals.
Had to have a long time family cat euthanized this past week, it was really hard but the folks up at chestnut animal clinic showed sincere sympathy and were all around fantastic in helping us deal with the loss of my best bud. We had been taking our other babies to a place a little closer to home but from here on they will all be going here. Wish I could give them 20 stars.
Take advantage of young people. Don't allow you to return items with receipt nor do they inform you returns can't be made. Over charge for dog vaccinations. Small and cramped building with rude and uninformative front desk staff. Many better places in Conway.
Personnel is professional, clinic is clean.
I absolutely love this clinic. It is the only a place I would ever bring my two canines. The staff is amazing and incredibly caring and knowledgeable and the services are super affordable! Thank you Chestnut! Magdalynne Mae and Chopper Luanne send their love!
We have used this clinic the past and have had amazing experiences. We switched clinics to be closer to home with our pregnant mom and upcoming litter but soon realized, after one visit at other clinic, we would rather drive to Chestnut because their staff has always been awesome and our experiences there were as well. We scheduled our appointment for our litter count X-rays and have anxiously awaited this day for weeks. We get there and are greeted and taken care of, once again, by amazing staff. However the vet come in and tells me he can’t get the X-rays clear enough to even see puppies. (They were completely grainy) He told me I should bring her back when another vet, that can operate their X-ray machine better, is there. He proceeded to tell me he only is there every other Saturday. He was very nice and apologetic. He told me he was not going to charge me for the visit because they couldn’t get the X-ray settings right to even see anything. I thanked him and went to leave. I stopped at the front to let them know what the vet told me and the guy at the desk asked me to have a seat and wait. He comes back and calls our name a while later and proceeds to tells me I owe more than they told me on the phone or the price sheet the lady went over with me before they took Emmie back for X-rays. I asked him about what the vet said about not charging us and he said, “I’m sorry ma’am, what the office manager says goes, and she said to charge you because x-rays are not a guarantee of accurate litter count.” Well, I agree x-rays are a just a better way of knowing your approximate litter size and are not 100% but I didn’t get a count at all!! The X-rays were too grainy and you couldn’t see puppies at all... not to mention your vet just told me they weren’t going to charge me because he couldn’t get X-rays right. So thank you, office manager, now a week before our litter is due, I’m looking for a new clinic! I gave 3 starts for our past experiences and the staff they have that actually do care!
My cat's eye was swollen, and Chestnut Animal Clinic got me in for an appointment for the same day, Saturday. They took good care of my fluff ball and got him seen quickly. They have a reasonable appointment fee ($40) and go over any recommend tests and treatment before you accept. They didn't push when we opted to do one test and get results before deciding to do the other recommend test. Their medicine is also reasonably priced and they have it on hand, ready at check out. The staff was very knowledgeable about medicine and they are helpful with any questions you may have. Highly recommend!
Always kind wouldn't go anywhere else with my fur babies.
Helpful but slow and very expensive!!!
Great place with fair prices and friendly staff
I apologize for making a mistake and only giving one star the first time I was doing a review, it should have been five stars, sorry guys, chestnut animal clinic is the best, the best Dr's and the best staff you'll find anywhere I take all my pets there, if your looking for someone that truly cares about your pets and is very knowledgeable take them here, you will be happy you did!
They took such good care of my pupper. Quick visit and VERY fair pricing. It was easy to book an appointment as a new patient.
The staff is amazing!!!!! They actually took a picture of my daughter's 12 year old dog, Jodie, after her surgery since we could not go see her and sent it to me so Kelli could see Jodie was ok! Such kind hearts!!!!
The staff always treat our animals great, from my 15 year old down to my 5month old pup. They are great at explaining what issue your animal is having and how they are going to resolve the issue to help keep the worried parents minds from racing with worry
I've been with them for nearly 40 yrs, they must be doing something right
Great care for my cat. Expensivish, but not crazy.
Dealt with this clinic for over a month with my pet, costing me over $1500. Nothing they did helped my pet. I understand that that can happen, I get that but this clinic has no compassion or good "bedside manner", they're only in it for the money. After spending that much in that short of time they wouldn't even consider letting me pay anything out after I had no more money to pay up front, knowing I'm on a fixed income. My pet survived but it was by the grace of God...nothing, not 1 thing they did helped other than rehydrating the pet. To prove my point of their being in it for the money...I asked a friend to pick up a can of Hill's Urgent Care canned food from a vet's office today. They stopped at Chestnut but because the pet's not a patient there they wouldn't sell it to him. It's called prescription diet but it's really a therapeutic diet and no prescription is necessary to purchase it. They told him the pet needed to be seen by the vet before he could purchase the food. That verified to me that they care more for the money than your pet's well being. JS.
I recommend Chestnut Animal Clinic to everyone. They take time to answer questions and they care about your pet.

Excellent service as always!
I have taken three 4 legged children here over a span of 25 years. They were very well taken care of.
Great service and get your pets back healthy
Absolutely wonderful! everybody in that office was so nice and so friendly and very caring. Very pleased with how much it cost I will definitely make this my number one vet and recommend them to anyone.
I have always been pleased with Chestnut Clinic. My Yorkies that we’re both 13 years old died a couple months apart. My Baxter had extensive cancer and had to be euthanized. It was so hard but they were very kind and caring to my family. Belle just passed away at the clinic last week while hospitalized. Dr Shaddox called to tell me the news. I know they did all they could for her. Vet care is always pricey but they are not as expensive as some others in town.
Chestnut Animal Clinic is the only place I would ever consider when it comes to the care of my three dogs. With every visit I have never experienced such above and beyond care. From the reception when I first walk through the door to how in sync and transparent Dr. Shaddox is to my fiancée and I is a whole new level that is unmatched. I have and continue to recommend Chestnut Animal Clinic to all my friends and family. Time and time again the results have been consistent and beyond exceptional. Thank you all so much for the care of my dogs, my friends and families pets, and your unwavering customer service!! You guys are incredible!!!
Thank you for getting my sick cat in today. I appreciate it greatly for working me in on a Saturday. I don't think she would have made it until Monday. Dr. Ken Shaddox and staff are awesome.
Nice clinic for pets. Able to get in quickly and the vets care and help you make a decision for the care of your pets.
Dr. John was great
Dr. Shaddox doesn't seem interested in knowing what is going on with your pet, I took a animal in with suspected parvovirus he brushed off my concerns took it to look at said it was an inner ear infection and gave it some antibiotics. It died the next day
Friendly front desk staff, but coarse vets. I was told over the phone my pet had a tumor, and was asked if I needed time to decide what the plan should be. After a little time thinking over the phone I asked if I could call back to give him an answer. After I asked, his demenour completely changed and started to tell me how busy they are and that if I planned to call back it needed to happen ASAP. This wouldn’t have hurt as much if there was any compassion shown from the start from the vet on the circumstance. But, he made it abunduntly clear that he does not want to show empathy for customers with dying pets.
Love Dr. Ken!!
Well my visit there was not a pleasant. My 10 week old pup "Blu" was VERY sick and I was told by the vet that the outcome was not going to turn out good for "Blu" even if he was hospitalized. So unfortunately, I was faced with the decision to have him put down
Chestnut Animal Clinic has been treating my parents and my personal dogs for over 20 years. Dr. Shaddox is the most friendly and compassionate vet you'll find. Dr. Meurer is a super nice guy and an excellent doctor. Both are extremely experienced and very detailed in helping your pets. The entire staff is super friendly and always making our pets feel like their own. The staff also works hard to make the pets feel comfortable during exams and procedures. They offer and explain itemized estimates before any service to make sure you are financially comfortable with their work. The clinic facility is very clean and great equipment like digital X-Rays and a surgical laser that are much easier on the animal. I frequently recommend them and would definitely tell anyone with a pet to take them to see the doctors and staff at Chestnut Animal Clinic.
They are so good to all my babies. I highly recommend them.
They were very friendly and willing to help ke out even though I was sent by my other vet Clinic to fill a rare prescription mine didn't have. Thanks for treating me like any other client
They helped me with a lost dog by offering to scan for a microchip. Friendly and helpful.
Took very good care of my cat for a fantastic price. Highly recommend!

They are so nice and compassionate to my dogs. They have gotten us in last minute on multiple occasions when our fur babies were hurt or sick. They explain things clearly and have never judged us on the plan of care we have selected.
People who love animals and give them good care
The doctor seemed knowledgeable, but the front end staff left a bad taste in my mouth. I called the day before saying that I had a sneezing rat that I wanted looked at. I was told $35 over the phone. I asked the lady over the phone if I brought her cage mate in for a general exam if I would be charged an additional $35. I was told no, just $35 for both of them. Cool. The rats are weighed, handled, and looked at briefly. Vet decides to treat for mycoplasmosis with two different antibiotics. I am not surprised, although unsure about the necessity of two different antibiotics at this stage. However, he is a vetrinarian and I am just a lady with internet access so I do not argue. They are not expensive medications. I wait while they grind up the medicines and add them to some sugar water. When I go to pay I am told it is almost $80. Wait a minute... I was expecting closer to $50. I ask about the cost because it was much higher than I expected even taking the medications into account. I was charged $24 per rat, $5 + $7 for the two different antibiotics, and a $15 compounding fee. I tell them I was told it would be $35 for both rats. They basically tell me, sorry but not sorry. ~$80 please. I ask to talk to the doctor about this. One of the ladies say she is the one to speak to about it. I repeat that I was told $35 for both. She asks if I remembered who I had spoken to. Whoever was answering the phone at this time when I made the appointment. She asks a lady who had been sitting silently at the front desk with them through the whole exchange if she had told me $35. She confirmed that she had. The Supervisor lady apologizes, explains that most people do not remember who they spoke to over the phone & that the phone receptionist is still training, and instructs the cashier lady to charge me $17.50 per rat. I leave wondering why the lady who had spoken to me over the phone had not spoken up rather than sitting there silently while I was asking about this. Also if I had known about the $15 compounding fee I would have just bought the meds online from a pet medicine website and ground it up myself. I was not told about it until they had already mixed it up and I was paying for everything.
Very nice staff. With with you. Vet good with my yellow lab. They also board animals.
I've been using this clinic for a little over two years now, however, due to a recent experience I am looking for a new vet. While the staff is always friendly and super helpful, I can't help but feel duped by my latest experience. My toy yorkie recently had a huge pussy mass on her face. We took her to the vet in February and asked if it could be an abscessed tooth--as google had said was the most likely. The vet told us no because she was too young and still chewing her toys. Furthermore, all of her baby teeth had been removed when she was spaded about a year ago. After spending a little over $200 for an antibiotic shot, we went home. Last week I noticed that the scab which still had not healed was also starting to pus again and that my dog would not let me touch her face. I took her back to the clinic where I was told again that we would shave her face, put her under with gas, remove the scab and use oral antibiotics. I was quoted about $150 for this I believe. As I was waiting for them to finish another vet came out and told me that it turns out the dog had 3 baby teeth that needed to be pulled and 1 of those was abscessed. My dog is like my child so I naturally gave the OK to do whatever they needed to do to help her feel better. I figured since this seemed like a mistake on their end--first for not pulling all of her baby teeth when they were suppose to have and second for misdiagnosing her even after we asked if it was an abscessed tooth--that I would be given some sort of a discount. However, no one apologized for this mix up and I was charged a whooping $302. I was fully prepared to pay for the gas and meds that were administered, but I couldn't believe I was charged for the visit. Moral of the story is I ended up paying about $500 for a problem that should've been adverted when she was spaded. Like I said, I'm not pleased and looking for another vet.
Always great with our dogs! Would recommend to anyone
I took my daughters bearded dragon (Tyson) to them because he had been sickly and dehydrated. The vet recommended administering fluids and a B-12 shot. This more than doubled the cost of the visit but we trusted his judgement. After he finished with Tyson he was immediately in distress. He then wanted to put him down adding more to the cost of the trip $$$. After seeing my daughter start to cry I thought we would take him home and give him a chance, after all he may have been sick when we got there but he was doing ok. He died on the way home seemingly gasping for air and then pink fluids ran out of his nose. There’s no dought in my mind that the vet filled his lungs with fluids and he drowned. I couldn’t be more disappointed with my experience at this clinic.
Good place good people
I've been coming here my dog was a puppy for about 4 years and they take care of and every time And provide additional information each time is well especially during the puppy phases
Great care for my dogs. Compassionately helped me euthanize my dying dog.
Love the staff friendly and caring for your fur babies. Dr Shaddox is very knowledgeable and courteous to his customers .
Great caring doctors and staff.
Best Vet Clinic I've used! Love everyone there. They truly care about our animals and our family. Been using them for over 11 years.
Excellent clinic. They have an emergency work in that saved my ferret. Highly recommended for all of your animal Care.
Love this place
The best bet clinic
The were very caring with us while putting my daughters cat to sleep
These are great and wonderful people and they are open on the weekend with a doctor for emergencies!
