My little 9 1/2 week old rottweiler was sick on a Friday night. I was afraid it was parvo. Yes, he was utd on shots and worming. I couldn't get him into my vet because they already had an emergency and they closed at 5:30, so I brought Rolo to Dr. Noble. I even told them everything that was going on and even said I was thinking parvo. Dr. Noble took his temp and he had a fever, which dr said puppies with parvo don't have a fever. Tested his poop and he had roundworms. Told me it was too early to tell if it was parvo. Didn't even do the test. Gave Rolo an anti-nausea shot and filled him full of fluids. (Why do that if it wasn't parvo?) Gave me worm medicine and antibiotics, which I gave, considering he is a vet and trusted him. (The antibiotic was for skin infections, at worse bacterial infections, bladder infections) Sent Rolo and I home and said I'll need to bring him back in a week or two to get him started on heartworm meds. Monday morning came around and I called my vet, and told them Rolo was worse. Took him to my vet. Within 20 minutes of being in the room, found out he was positive for parvo and it was too late. Sadly Rolo didn't make it. All Dr. Noble had to do was simply run the test. I would have paid extra for the test, especially since I'd just paid them $200. And now another $300 for my vet's office.
