My husband and I have been considering adopting a stray cat that has been hanging around our apartment and today we decided to take him in to get vaccinated and neutered. I called this place and was told to bring the cat in. When we got there, my husband was talking to one of the women who works there and she was SO incredibly condescending and rude to him for no reason! I wish I would have interjected and said something at the time but I was in shock by how unprofessional and rude this woman was. The prices at this place are great, but we would rather pay more somewhere else and give our money to another business. It's a shame since we live right next to this place. Will definitely be taking our pets elsewhere.

Really great service, I love the vets! However, some of the front desk people don't seem to fully know what is going on. That being said, I don't trust anyone else with my dogs, those vets are wonderful. They're also a little pricier than many vets I've been to, but I suppose it's worth it for my puppies.

I have been taking my dog to Animal Medical Center since the day I got her. I previously worked for an answering service and was impressed with the availability of the staff for after hours emergencies. Dr. Curry is great, always loving with Alfie and kind and informative with me. Alfie has also been seen by Dr. Free when I was having a dog mom moment =) She was reassuring and knowledgeable. I have never had an issue with having my dog seen in a timely manner. The clinic is clean and has beautiful paintings throughout. Pricing is fair and they do accept CareCredit. The staff is friendly and always gives Alfie love and treats which makes it easier to teach her that the vet isn't so bad. I haven't tried any other vets in the area, but that is simply because I haven't had to. Animal Medical Center has met and exceeded all my needs and expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a caring and competent vet.

Waited 2.5 hours to have my sick doing seen with 3 other dogs in the waiting room. 8 more came in after and were prioritized for vaccines or other. My dog is sneezing um uncontrollably, finally get to Vet and told to go to Emergency room without TESTS OR ANYTHING. If it was considered even 10% chance of emergency why did I wait 2.5 f___ing hours to get told to go there.... Even had other patients owners say "wow you just keep getting skipped" Go here for basic stuff.... not if your dog is sick

Great place! I've been coming here for over 6 years. PROS: Great friendly and caring staff. Cheap shots & check ups, at least half of regular vets. CONS: Wait time. Plan to spend 1-4 hours there. SUMMARY: In reading other reviews I say, yes it is a long wait BUT it's a vet CLINIC, if you want an appointment, less then a 30 minute wait then dish out the money and go to a regular veterinary. If you're animal is dying of severely ill then use common sense and got a pet HOSPITAL. There's even a poster on their wall with the number to a pet hospital. Bottom line: It's like going to a Motel 6 and expecting 5 Star treatment - adjust your expectations. In conclusion..... I LOVE THIS PLACE! Highly recommend it.

I have 3 kids, I am a busy person, but I know if my cat needs to go to the vet I plan accordingly because I could be waiting an hour. I get there right when they open and I always go on Saturday. Everyone is very nice, they are providing a great service at a low price, what more can you ask for? Don't let the negative comments on this page fool you, I have been coming here for at least 10 years and have never had a problem. I have had many pets with various illnesses, my pets and I have never been treated with anything other than kindness and professionalism.They get 5 stars...the wait is not an issue for me at all.

Our Bella, a bull mastiff, gets the best care at Animal Medical Center, with Dr. Huff. For large breeds, Dr. Huff is the go-to veterinarian in our opinion. He is extremely thorough and his concern for our pet's well-being is always evident. He tells it exactly the way it is, whereas other vets have not bothered or didn't know there was a need for change...i.e. significant weight loss necessary to care for foot issues/limp. We are so glad to have been referred to Dr. Huff and the Animal Medical Center, and strongly recommend every person owning a large breed use Dr. Huff.

It’s a piece of joke, having to wait for 30 minutes for price of a service. I mean you should have this information on you if you say it’s a service that you provide. Don’t waste your time calling.

As long as you're prepared for a wait (during Friday - Monday) than this is the place. I personally don't mind waiting since I'm prepared for it but the prices for vacinations, rabies shots, and de-worming are very reasonable and every time I've gone, everyone working there is friendly and helpful. They have a passion for animals that is very apparent. I've never had a bad experieince with the doctors and if you want to get around the wait, try Tuesday - Thursdays.

Be careful with this place. I had been going to this place for several years up until last month. While they are lower priced than most vets, the wait time is about three hours on average and they rarely have more than one vet on duty. As a result the whole staff is running around like chicken with their heads cut off and not pleasant to even speak with. When you do get the opportunity to have your pet checked, the doctor on duty doesn't give you the time of day and is short with answering questions. They obviously can't be bothered. Dr. Kendrick is insensitive, condescending and a money hungry man who needs to retire and replace himself with a compassionate individual that is more inclined for veterinary work. They have the typical churn and burn affect that is undesirable after you experience it first hand.

Less than thrilled with my experience. Upon my arrival, I went straight to the front desk to check in and fill out any paperwork. I stood there several minutes before any of the 3-4 women behind the desk acknowledged me and when someone did, it was just to say they would be with me in a minute. The same woman finally had one of the others who was just standing around help me. I gave her my information and stood there expecting her to give paperwork to fill out since it was my first time there. She didn't do anything more than nod and begin rifling through files as I stood there. I finally got fed up standing there and sat down. 5-10 mins later SURPRISE they need me to fill out paperwork. -_- When my dog is finally called I walked up expecting to go back with him but apparently not because the man who called for us proceeds to grab my dog's leash from me and walk off with him. If he had communicated with me rather than forcefully grabbing my dog from me I wouldn't have had as big of a problem with him taking my dog while I waited since we were just there for a few vaccinations. Even so, I would think that all vets would want to meet a new patient/client no matter how briefly. I will not be going back.

I write this review with mixed feelings. Until today, we were extremely happy with AMC. They’ve taken great care of our dog and seemed to be competent. My cat was scheduled in today for an update on a vaccine and teeth cleaning. Prior to scheduling this appointment we had visited the clinic for my cat’s vaccine in which we discussed the drs proposed plan and decided, with whoever helped us that day, that we would only give my cat one vaccine and that the others were not necessary. They took my cat back, but could not remove her from her crate. To which we then decided, after consulting with a new person, that they could do the vaccine at the same time she was under anesthesia for her teeth cleaning. So that is what we chose we would do and thought everything was settled, a new day scheduled, and our wishes noted. When my sister and daughter dropped my cat off, my daughter mentioned to whoever was helping them that it was one vaccine, teeth cleaning, etc. And was obviously ignored. They gave my cat all of the vaccines they recommended in their original estimate, ignoring our wishes and then blaming my sister for agreeing to it. I was so upset with the fact that my cat was given treatment that we had explicitly indicated we did not want. I was even more upset that they lied and tried to tell us that we had agreed to it, when my sister was only instructed to drop my cat off, confiding that we had communicated with our cat’s veterinary care team our wishes beforehand. The fact that they took the charges off doesn’t undo how upset I feel about not being able to trust them with my animals, the communication issues and that they basically told us we agreed to it, when we did not. When I asked how I could communicate my wishes with regard to my animal’s care better, the answer was that I should personally drop them off instead. Wow. Incompetence. Also, apparently I spoke to someone (during the first vaccine visit attempted) who doesn’t work there...

Friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. I took my 1 year oldGreat Dane for her appointment yesterday I also had my three year old son with me as soon as we got back to the room he had to go to the restroom. The women working up front took him and showed him where the bathroom was and then took him to look around. Doctor Free and the technician that was working with her were so great. They were so friendly and made sure to go over all the options and answered any questions we had. They are also very reasonably priced.

WORST VET EVER. Total negligence and actually inflicted wounds on my dog who was under anesthesia. The dog came home from a dental cleaning procedure with punctured trachea. My dog suffered a traumatic injury caused by the vet. On top of that, when I went back for the follow up, they charged another $200 on top of the $275 I already paid. These people do not care for your Animal! They man handle the animals and even cause damage. STAY AWAY

These folks are wonderful! As a first-time dog owner, I initially followed the advice of some locals and took my dog to a really impersonal and rude veterinary clinic in town. After a few terrible incidents, including one in which my dog choked, then was sick for two days, after being fed a rawhide, which I specifically asked them not to do, I decided to move our primary care. I asked locals and further put out a call on Facebook asking for recommendations. A friend from high school (in MO) contacted a veterinarian friend and asked if he knew of anyone. The responses came not only locally but from across the state-- Dr. Huff was the vet to see. Since then I have not been disappointed in the least. My dog, Boomer, is part of the family there and they always absolutely relish seeing him, treat him with the utmost of respect and care, and dote on him like he was their own. I can't say it loud enough-- these people are amazing.

I write this review with mixed feelings. Until today, we were extremely happy with AMC. They’ve taken great care of our dog and seemed to be competent. My cat was scheduled in today for an update on a vaccine and teeth cleaning. Prior to scheduling this appointment we had visited the clinic for my cat’s vaccine in which we discussed the drs proposed plan and decided, with whoever helped us that day, that we would only give my cat one vaccine and that the others were not necessary. They took my cat back, but could not remove her from her crate. To which we then decided, after consulting with a new person, that they could do the vaccine at the same time she was under anesthesia for her teeth cleaning. So that is what we chose we would do and thought everything was settled, a new day scheduled, and our wishes noted. When my sister and daughter dropped my cat off, my daughter mentioned to whoever was helping them that it was one vaccine, teeth cleaning, etc. And was obviously ignored. They gave my cat all of the vaccines they recommended in their original estimate, ignoring our wishes and then blaming my sister for agreeing to it. I was so upset with the fact that my cat was given treatment that we had explicitly indicated we did not want. I was even more upset that they lied and tried to tell us that we had agreed to it, when my sister was only instructed to drop my cat off, confiding that we had communicated with our cat’s veterinary care team our wishes beforehand. The fact that they took the charges off doesn’t undo how upset I feel about not being able to trust them with my animals, the communication issues and that they basically told us we agreed to it, when we did not. When I asked how I could communicate my wishes with regard to my animal’s care better, the answer was that I should personally drop them off instead. Wow. Incompetence. Also, apparently I spoke to someone (during the first vaccine visit attempted) who doesn’t work there...

I realize other people have had great experiences at the Animal Medical Center. But my experience has been that some of the staff are grossly incompetent and vengeful. We took our small 11 pound dog in for dental cleaning. He came back that day with subcutaneous emphysema which is generally benign but can be sign a of serious complication, such as throat lacerations due to the dental cleaning. We took our dog back in the afternoon of the day of the dental cleaning which had happened in the morning. The vet first said it was nothing to worry about and sent us away free of charge. However our dog started to inflate like a balloon over the next two weeks so we took him in for xrays to the Medical Center two weeks later The vet techs could not get our dog to behave for two chest xrays so they gave up after one and then proceeded to charge us for two xrays. We complained but ended up paying the $200 bill (on top of the dental cleaning bill) for two xrays that didn't even occur. The vet techs then proceeded to tell us that our dog bit a vet tech two weeks ago and that they were going to report the incident. They never informed us of the original incident! They only decided to report this and tell us about this event that happened 2 WEEKS PREVIOUSLY after we complained about their original handling of our dog! So they decided to do this because they were seeking revenge on us and our dog for complaining! Mind you this is a 11 pound dog. A terrier mix. I work with animals and if you work at an Animal Hospital can't handle an 11 pound terrier then maybe rethink your job choice. Also the Hospital and head Vets need to seriously rethink their Standard Operating Procedures. So I guess the bottom line is, bring your pet to Animal Medical Center, maybe you'll have a great experience or maybe you'll have to pay a boatload and then end to having to go to a different vet to fix what Animal Medical Center did to your pet like we did. Go ahead, roll the dice.

They used to be good. While there was a wait, it was worth it. NOT ANYMORE. Now all they care about is getting as much money as possible.. And they still have a horrible wait. I have been the many times for cat with blood in urine. Each visit I spent as little as 1 hour there to 5 hours. One time, a man had brought his cat in and it died while he was waiting. When the staff asked why he was leaving, I informed them the cat had died of old age while waiting to be helped. so far spent over 1000$ for this one issue and no change. 3 different antibodies tried. 1 urine sample I brought in to them that was pink in color. was charged 46$ to be told there was blood in it. Duh.. I already knew that. I do not think the sample was sent to a lab. Yesterday I want back AGAIN telling them the urine still has blood, and cat is constipated and has not pooped in 3 days and is in pain. They took blood work , gave antibody to UTI. completely ignored the constipation and pain problem . If I have to self diagnose and treat with internet why bother with this vet. Their costs have jumped up considerably. Watch out on prescriptions. Example- Fluid bag to rehydrate cat = 40$ for ONE 1000 ml bag .. Walgreens 12 bags 1000ml=30$ FOR ALL 12 They want to charge prescription fee if you do not want to fill at their location. the fee is 6-8$ ( I always thought this was illegal)? 1 blood test . -146 I hope they actually send them out instead of attempting to do in house. Yet that would explain a lot. Every-time I go there, I feel worse than the cat... Long wait , having to deal with the following--- Typical visit. Arrive to vet signin 20 mins -30 mins wait ( average) speak to receptionist-- what is wrong with pet..... Sit down and wait for vet - 1/2 to 2 hours ( average wait is 1.5 hours) go back to reception room. 1/2 hour wait to be checked out. (If blood work needed - make it an hour) Just thinking about it makes me uneasy. I pointed out the prices keep jumping ( jumping vs slowly increasing) Reception quick to point out other places charge $300 for a visit they charge only $250 for. Part of me looks forward to pet dieing, so I will not have to deal with the vet.

I have Ferrets and my local Veterinarian doesn't take care of Ferrets. This clinic, Animal Medical Center, was fine except for one thing. They take your pet to another area to examine them. I didn't appreciate that. I am used to being able to see what the Dr. is doing first hand. I doubt if I will use them again unless they agree to do things my way.

I have been going here for several years now, and I agree, this is how a veterinary office clinic should operate. The wait varies as it is first come, first serve and then depends on what you're there for. Dr. Kendrick is wonderful. He saved us so much money and our Lady so much stress. We will be moving soon and I wish we could take this place and most especially Dr. Kendrick with us. If you had a bad experience, then it was an anomaly and not typical...that's why the wait can be so long, a lot of people believe as I do, that this place knows it's stuff. I can tell by Dr Kendrick's gentle handling of our Chihuahua and his understanding of her problems that his is probably the best vet we have ever had. Also, they do not push product or services on you like other vets. I have had regular visits that cost me over $200 every single visit until finding Dr. Kendrick. Our typical office visits were $27 and shots vary of course but her vaccines have been under $18 each. She also use Benedryl tabs from over the counter and not prescribed. They are wallet friendly.

Honestly a one star is extremely generous to this clinic. Don't take your pet here please! These people are money hungry. I spent over $550 on my puppy on her medication and food that they gave me. At the end it didn't even help because the next day my puppy passed away. The vet did not let me ask any questions and the wait was too long. During the long wait my puppy had a seizure but they couldn't do anything. All they told me is to wait outside for hours...

We knew Dr. Zachery before she joined Dr. Huff's practice, when she worked with Norette at Trumann Animal Clinic but knew she was destined to work with Dr. Huff. Dr. Zachery's dedication to her work and her compassionate approach to caring for our most vulnerable of companions is typical of the qualities and caliber of professionals who work at Animal Medical Center. Dr. Zachery personally saved the life of my Wrigley at least twice, and she cared for him as if he were her own child. For the extra time that gave me with my Best Friend Forever, I am eternally grateful. I've never boarded a four-legged child, I just rearranged my own life, but I will trust AMC with my next child as we trust them with my sister's crew all the time. I took my Chihuahua here for the first time hearing such great reviews about the staff, the care, and the price. He was long overdue for many services so I decided to take him in for full treatment. (Neuter, Teeth cleaning, Nail Clipping, Microchip, and Vaccinations). The staff in general really needs to learn some communication skills. There was truly only ONE young lady in there that appeared and acted like she LOVED her job, and LOVED animals. Everyone else was unorganized, running around everywhere and unhelpful. Careful they do NOT require blood work or any other pre-tests before surgery. And my basic answer was, "Well these are just extras, he doesnt need any of these tests especially if he hasn't had any problems before." After surgery my dog was VERY scared and not sure what was going on. Also very agitated which we warned them he would be when we dropped him off. When I get there to pick him up they bring me into a private room with my dog on leash to show me that because he was so aggressive that my 7lb dog "escaped" from his cage as they were trying to open it and he "ran" straight into a wall. Then they show me his bloody and swollen eye. I believe that my dog was aggressive but I dont believe he deserved that kind of treatment. There are other vets that I have been to before I moved that knew EXACTLY how to handle him with no problems. The surgery made him sick so we took him to emergency service and the vet said that whoever did the surgery did a bad job.

So yesterday Friday the 29th when I woke up I seen my beautiful baby girl (my dog) had a swollen eye. I was so scared due to the fact I did not know what caused it. I had took her for a walk the night before so in my head I'm thinking maybe a spider bit her. I took her to the Animal care Center in Garden Grove. (Do not take your pet there, waste of time and money) Once that doctor saw my baby all he said was here's this card (a hospital) call them and tell them your dog needs x-rays. X rays for what?????? I didn't get no kind of answer from the doctor except it has something to do with her teeth she needs x rays done, no antibiotics, nothing! So when I got home Friday from that clinic I put a warm rag on my dogs eye hoping the swelling would go down. This morning the 30th her eye was so much worse. Was smaller and more swollen then the day before. So I then started calling pet hospitals near my location that's when I came across this clinic/hospital (was the best in price) also once I got there everyone was super nice! I was seriously praying and hoping I wouldn't pay a lot due to me going to another clinic the day before which I received no help whatsoever with (I know pets aren't cheap) so once Dr. Kendrick was available to see Guera (my dog) I explained everything as far as me going to another clinic when she woke up with the swollen eye etc. One thing I really loved and appreciated about this doctor is he actually listens to you while you speak. He shows he cares, he's not rude doesn't cut you off. This hospital usually doesn't do any surgeries on Saturday but my dog was not eating as she couldn't and her eye was ridiculously swollen he didn't think twice about it and I ended up leaving my pet there for 2 in a half hours so they can do what they had to. As far as pricing all I can say is I'm happy and most importantly thankful! Dr. Kendrick if you're reading this I would like to say Thank you so and very much for all your help. I really do appreciate you. I reside in AZ but when I come to CA to visit I will be taking Guera to get future shots, teeth cleaning etc here! Thank you all so much. Guera Ramirez

5 stars for Animal Medical Center. I have a 4 month old puppy that I have taken here since the day that we got him, and I won't ever go to another vet. All of the staff is so sweet and helpful, and Dr. Zachary is so intelligent and she cares so much about the animals that she sees. When we first got him, we were worried because he wasn't doing any physical activity. I called animal medical center at about 4:40 and even though it was 20 minutes before they closed, there was no rude remarks or making me feel like I was a burden. We ended up being here for about an hour and half after they closed, and Aibrean had bronchitis, pneumonia, and was raided with worms. He is now the happiest and most energetic puppy I have ever had!! The prices are great and you will never have a bad experience with them.

Today went fairly fast! Usually I am here longer than an hour. Front desk was great and friendly. Came in today for vax only. Was seen quickly. Tech was neutral. That was ok. Made appointments for two of my dogs for neuter. Very busy until September and October. Spaying is even more booked. I have brought my pets here for decades. Last year I brought a dear companion and seen a vet for a skin condition. She was treated for allergies. I told the vet I was not convinced. That office visit cost me 300 dollars. She died less than a month. She was obviously misdiagnosed. I will not bring my pets in here any longer for any illness. Just vaccinations and spay or neuter.

today i took my cat in for a check up because I had a feeling there might be something wrong (ie. worms) i had done an abundant amount of reading articles on the internet and all the signs pointed to worms. so i took her in this afternoon. after waiting 2 hours, they finally asked me to fill out new client information. they were training a new receptionist. new employees are understandable, but 2 hours is a bit excessive. i am in the retail business and that alone is unprofessional. after i explained to the receptionist, the tech and the doctor what was wrong, they all said it couldnt be worms. they took a stool sample and blood and said it was negative. $200 later i came home still concerned about my animal. two hours later, i checked my cats feces not only to find obvious worms in her stool, they were all over her anal area. i am going back tomorrow to demand a full refund and free vaccines. i feel so bad for my cat because she is restless and i can only imagine what she must be going through. DONT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!

DO NOT take your pet to this clinic!!!!! I took my 3 year old standard poodle because she was vomiting...one of the vets told me one thing regarding her x Ray and another vet told me another thing. The first vet sent me home with anti diarrhea medication which my pet didn't have diarrhea she was vomiting. 3 days later I didn't notice a change in her with that medication so I took her in again. Now we saw another vet and he told me to admit her since she was dehydrated. Well anyways I spent so much money on her with all of the unnecessary test results that took long to get which made her closer to death. They do no know how to diagnose a pet. Please I beg you not to bring your pet to this clinic if he/she is really sick. Take them to another clinic. My pet is currently on the edge of death right now in another pet clinic near my house. They did nothing but take away over 1 grand easily. They are money hungry people !!!!!!!!!!!

I've been bringing my dog here for over two years now and we've always had a positive experience. Yes, it's walk-in (although you make appointments for procedures/surgeries), so there are days when you will wait a loooong time, especially in the late afternoon. But that's the trade-off for such affordable care. I've easily saved over a thousand dollars. My dog's recent teeth cleaning (amazing results and a happy dog) was a fraction of what another vet quoted me, and I think his last round of vaccines was around $35. The staff and veterinarians are kind, professional and extremely patient. I won't take my dog anywhere else and I highly recommend it for anyone who 1) loves their pet, and 2) doesn't like to waste money!
