You know that we don't usually stop to set opinions when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
Wonderful staff, took great care of our puppy the only thing is be prepared to pay the cost for your beloved animals because the price was hefty
Dr. Bonnie is very knowledgeable and sweet!
I had to take my terminal cat as he got worse. The vet was very kind and went through all options possible. After tests the vet Told me nothing else could be done and went through options again. Very kind and repeated things over my crying. Would give 5 stars but they couldn’t separate payment on two cards. That was only issue.
Great friendly staff. Very long wait time. Be prepared.
They were so sweet to us and our baby after he got picked on by two large neighbor dogs. it was a bit of a wait but they kept us informed and had netflix for us to watch. We got worried again later in the night and they were very kind in letting us know it was just his pain and gave him more meds.
We took our 11 year old pug in when she appeared to be having some type of seizure, unable to walk, breathing heavily. Her symptoms indicated that she was fighting for her life and suffering terribly. When we arrived, she was taken in immediately, examined thoroughly then the vet came to discuss the situation with us. She explained in detail what her opinion was and explained what the cost would be to try and get her through the night. Considering here age and other health issues, we decided it was time to let her go. Any one who has gone through this understands how emotional this experience is. The entire staff went above and beyond to help us get through this ordeal. They understood what we were going through reacted accordingly. We left with her little paw print and days later received a card in the mail from the clinic. Considering this was a middle of the night emergency and the care she was given, I didn't think the cost was that high. Any time you go to a 24 hour clinic of any kind, you expect to pay more. It was worth every penny to me for her to have been helped by a staff that did everything in her power to help her quickly and comfortably.
Those complaining about the price or wait- 1. It’s a pet emergency room. It’s not going to be cheap. It’s for life or death situations for your pet. If it’s bag enough to go at midnight, price shouldn’t be an issue. 2. Owners are allowed to leave. Just cause they took your pet and the rooms/waiting room are empty doesn’t mean they don’t have full kennels waiting to be seen. They’re triaged and then served in order. My pup got attacked by some creature where we live in the boonies. I called to give a heads up and drove the 45 minutes there. We were back home 4.5 hours after the attack, and it took 20-30 minutes to decide and leave the house. They were quick, professional, and courteous and I hope we never have to go back.
This place is a joke. Do not go here! Telling someone they can’t leave due to policy. Having someone sign a critical care form stating that the estimate will be anywhere from 300-700 no matter what then giving an 1100.00 estimate. When my mom said she couldn’t pay that amount and would pay whatever she could after midnight they then blew her phone up all night and threatened to press charges for animal abandonment and theft of services. As a member of Law Enforcement I know this is inaccurate. It’s a completely civil matter. What I do know is illegal is holding someone against their will no matter what your policy states, then stating well out of the goodness of my heart I’ll allow you to leave. This place is a joke. The BBB will be contacted. Janet the supervisor shouldn’t be in charge of anything as she has no people skills. Also the Springdale Police Dept was contacted by me, and no reports were on file and frankly the officer stated they probably wouldn’t do anything anyway as again it is a civil matter. After a traumatic experience and then the way my mother was treated this clinic will be lucky if they don’t end up with a lawsuit.
We went in with a VERY sick old dog. These veterinarians and staff brought her back to good health in 24 hours. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ORGANIZATION to any and everyone for their very professional work .
Horrible experience! They lock you inside and are more worried about how you will pay them then your animal. Hopefully you never have to take your animal there.
Too expensive and they care more about the money than the pet and owner.
We brought our dog in and after 2.5 hours they had no clue what was wrong with her and only provided medicines to treat symptoms not the cause. I will never use this clinic again nor would i recommend them to anyone.
My family was treated with the most love and respect while under the care of the care of this animal hospital. Our first family pet was suffering from heart and kidney failure and we knew his time was limited when we took him to the office. The doctor offered to do blood tests and help to plan a path for our chihuahua to live as comfortably as possible during his remaining days. Unfortunately, we knew the likelihood of surgery or medication saving his life was slim. We did chose to euthanize our beloved pet and the clinic gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye. Within two days we received the most beautiful sympathy card from the staff. Although we were sad to lose our sweet dog, we were overly impressed and satisfied with the treatment we received. We highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering their service.
If you need emergency service for your pet this place is a life saver. So thankful to have this after hour and holiday clinic. They have a range of testing capabilities and provide NETFLIX in your own waiting room.
Great place
I’m not super thrilled with their treatment of patients or people. I know there are cruddy pet owners, but the money grubbing attitude of “no treatment until payment” is a little over the top, especially considering they charge very high fees for basic services like initial exams. In addition to this, I’ve never encountered a truly kind or gentle person in this office, which is a bit confusing since the people seeking help here are generally concerned pet owners in very high-stress situations. If you’re going to charge me hundreds of dollars for veterinary care, at least don’t get irritated when I’m being emotional with my husband about my sick pet.
Will and Galadreal, I had a similar situation with a dog that actually died in my arms while I was taking her in the door. I had to sign my financial life away so they could do some kind of resuscitation that cost a huge amount of money, but she was dead, and of course it didn't work. I was shocked by the cost, and I really hope none of my pets is ever hit by a car off hours because to keep my family member, I have to pay them an exorbitant amount of money. I realize something like that might be expensive, might require surgery or hospitalization, but an already dead dog costing over $500 was obscene.
Good hospital. Nice, plenty of space for pets and their humans. Ridiculously high prices and some extra services not necessary for pet that will be going to their own vet when they open their doors. Vet and technicians were very kind, just over thorough.
Brought our dog in because he was having stomach issues and were treated terribly. We were told that we didn’t give our dog all the shots and after telling us he had healthy vitals the doctor still said he would need to be tested for “the dreaded parvo”. Our dog is up to date on everything and was just having naseau problems. They didn’t ask us about background history or anything and just seemed money hungry and ignorant. The front desk lady was very nice though.
Never a planned visit to this place. The desk staff was always courteous and friendly the two time we've visited. But I'm not sure the vets on staff are the best animal handlers. First visit dog was very skittish afterwords for a few hours. Second visit, vet came into room with one diagnosis and was set on it. Then I mention that the same thing had happened before and he immediately jumps to maybe trying some meds. Won't be back if I can avoid it.
The doctors and staff are friendly and very helpful. But on the other hand are very incompetent when it comes to the health of your pet!!! I took my animal in to be treated they ran blood work, vitals, the hole nine yards even X-rays. With the X-ray they found that the leg was broken. The X-ray included the whole body from head to toe, top to bottom. What the incompetent doctor did not see was that a vertebra in his neck was completely dislocated and pressing against his spinal cord. When I took him to the regular veterinarian the vertebrae dislocation was clear as a bell on their X-ray.. After I had to pay almost $400 dollars to the Animal Emergency Clinic of north west Arkansas in addition also pay an additional $347 dollars to the regular veterinary clinic for the same procedures to end up and have my pet put to sleep to end his suffering. Don’t get me wrong I love my pets very much and would pay twice that amount. But the fact of the mater is, the veterinarian at the emergency room should have seen the dislocated vertebra that was clear as day in the X-ray. There is no excuse for the amount of incompetence that the veterinarian had. With the amount of revenue that the emergency services vet receives from it’s customers you would think that they would be able to have more competitive veterinarians. I am very dissatisfied with the performance of the veterinarian.....
I have nothing good to say about this place. We took our sick puppy here and the treatment was awful, the front desk lady was RUDE and they scared our girl half to death. If you don’t have to, do not ever take your animals here. We sat in the room for 6 hours and left with no answer as to what was wrong with our pup. AFTER we had spent $700. TERRIBLE
On Sunday my fiancee and I were faced with a serious situation with our 60 lb. dog yelping due to horrible back pain. She couldn't move without letting out high-pitched painful yelps and it broke my heart. After being turned away from a vet's office close to our home (and open), we had a friend drive us up to this emergency clinic. At first, I was reading the reviews and dreaded this visit because I assumed I would be charged thousands of dollars for treatment or leave with a deceased dog due to poor treatment. I was completely mistaken for believing those bad reviews. We experienced great customer service and our dog received excellent care from Dr. Bonnie. She needed to take a few x-rays of my dog's spinal cord and after she did so and examined the images, she came into the patient waiting room and showed us the images while thoroughly explaining what was wrong and pointing everything out to us. She was excellent and prescribed the right pain meds for our dog and she began to get better on the meds. We weren't overcharged, in the dark about treatment, and our dog is doing great now. We found out this medical issue will likely reoccur throughout our dog's life, but thanks to Dr. Bonnie we now know exactly what it is and how to treat it next time. (We had a follow up with our normal vet who confirmed the diagnosis Dr. Bonnie gave to us for our dog). Thank you so so much!
Good service. Friendly staff
So kind and proficient
CANNOT SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT ANIMAL EMERGENCY CLINIC IN SPRINGDALE. Called ahead at 1AM after dachsund was attacked by wild critter. Told us to bring her in. Arrived in Springdale at the Emergency Clinic soon after. They said we are swamped ??., but she needs surgery immediately!! They said, "Your best bet is to drive to Fort Smith or Tulsa." They DID NOT DO ANYTHING to stabilize her or stop bleeding or help with pain. Went directly to FORT SMITH ANIMAL EMERGENCY CLINIC. Dr. Ledford did an EXCELLENT job to stabilize, ran blood work, x-rays etc. for 6 lacerations, 8 inch hernia (2 broken ribs). Could not give pain meds because he recommended having surgery closer to home (Fayetteville). HE CONTACTED Dr. Mohler at the Animal Medical Clinic in Fayetteville to prepare him for our arrival. Dr. Ledford gave us a copy of all testing when we left. When we arrived at ANIMAL MEDICAL CLINIC (Fayetteville), 7 hrs after event, Dr. Mohler had everything he needed AND they did surgery immediately in the clinic. Excellent care, follow-up and very fair fees. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE, WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT DR. LEDFORD AT THE FORT SMITH ANIMAL EMERGENCY CLINIC. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE, WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT DR. MOHLER AND STAFF AT THE ANIMAL MEDICAL CLINIC IN FAYETTEVILLE.
I called just a few minutes ago about my 3 year old husky mix who I assume chewed his suture off. He originally goes to Hancock vet services . They could not give advice over phone about what to do just because we aren't regular customers, so the dog does not bleed out or chew on anymore sutures from a neuter surgery that happened 3 weeks ago. If this is an Animal Emergency Clinic of NWA, doesn't that mean it's an all type of vet emergency clinic for pets and owners who don't have 80.00 bucks up front for emergencies which they are asking of ? The lady I spoke to was very rude and was kind of being ignorant including only worrying about getting money tonight . Instead of giving advice over phone for a simple thing like this. Dogs eating Tylenol tabs is major which should be considered as a we-need-to-see the dog type thing because you don't know if he is acting weird or spasing out to whereas a dog BLEEDING HIS BALL SAC OUT . I dont recommend calling this clinic nor seeing this clinic.
Great treatment. Took my Frenchie in for a intestinal blockage and was planning on an outrageous bill. The vet was determined to not put my dog through an major surgery. He tried a less invasive procedure and it worked. Thank you for the passion you have for animal.
I have had two occasions to take my dog to a vet on an emergency basis after hours. Once he appeared to be choking on something and was frantic. The team their provided quick and excellent care. I can't really speak to the prices, but was more than willing to pay what was required for emergency care after normal business hours.
Great experience at this clinic. All of the staff was attentive and kind. Thankful that my dog didn't need surgery and only fluids & medicine. And thankful that we have an animal emergency clinic so I didn't have to wait until the morning!! Keep up the good work!!
They are expensive but I am glad they were available.
My little buddy who is a farm dog had a barb wire cut about 6 pm last night after all my normal livestock vets hours. I decided to go to er clinic to get a few stitches and not bother my normal vets for something as simple as a few stitches. I was presented with a suggested cost of $875.00 for the stitches , which was about $700.00 to high from what a farm vet would have charged. Now this littl dog is my entire life and he gets the best of everything but this price for a few stitches was crazy now if it was life or death than that is a intire different subject . I went to er two years ago after a bull stomped me crazy and had a head full of stictches and the total bill was only $400.00 dollars . This tells me that they are preying on people’s emotions and for most this is the only place to gowith your pets but totally stay away unless it’s a life or death . For comparison prices for $875.00 that would be preg checking over 100 cows that would have to be worked thru a large corral and chute. Or assist with two very hard births from cattle. My little buddy is fixed and on the mend all ready this morning and no we did not use the emergency clinic last night for something as minor as stitches.
We spent $4000 at this place and they seemed kind, but we were told to call the ER right away if Pepsi started trying to throw up. She didn't throw up, but kind of tried to, so we went. Right away we knew something was wrong with the doctor. There were 0 patients there at the time, but the nurse (I don't want to call her a doctor) was mean and rude as she could ever be. She acted like we were stupid for not wanting to put Pepsi to sleep, even though Pepsi was not suffering she said. She said she likely was not in any pain, but just had not much quality of life. It's not true because Pepsi is still here talking with us right now, she grabbed my hand a few minutes ago while I was singing her song. She is 100% "there." This nurse was as stupid as **** and didn't know what she was talking about and acted like my wife and I were stupid. She acted surprised when I knew the name of the medicine she was talking about. I value intelligence more than anyone, and this nurse does not have it. Nor does she have any sort of empathy whatsoever. She is a horrible person. She said she heard from the other doctor that we wanted to put Pepsi to sleep. "What???" She was trying to persuade us to do so in a retarded kind of way. Then when I just got home and read the write up notes, she said very bad things about us in particular. These are the exact notes: "The owner steadfastly refuses to consider humane euthanasia. Owner declines blood work (she misspelled this) to evaluate for potential causes of the seizures. (No... the nurse said there was no point. Owner did not refuse anything.)" I don't think this post does justice to how rude she was to us. She acted like she wanted to get back to her coffee break or go smoke a cigarette, with 0 other patients in the lobby and the parking lot empty and us the only patients in sight, after us having spent $4000 here. To top it all off... when we were paying to leave, the secretary out front did not believe it was my credit card, so she wanted to check my ID. With us having a cat with us with the same name as the one on their charts, having spent $4000 there already, and just meeting with the "doctor." What if my wife would had paid like last time and did not have her ID? Omg this place was such a joke tonight, I'm sorry Dr. Williams and the other nurses who cared for Pepsi the week before, but you guys have to fire this girl and the secretary working tonight both. You better believe my wife (Japanese and very, very sweet girl) is going to write a post as soon as she finishes feeding Pepsi. And we will be talking with Dr. Williams and the other staff tomorrow about both of you.
Our cat Emmylou was spayed Friday, and Sunday night she popped a stitch. We had to take her to the emergency clinic at midnight and expected to be broke after leaving- The receptionist, vet's assistant, and vet herself were upbeat, knowledgeable, understanding, and very friendly. They took their time with us and answered all my silly questions and made me feel so much more relaxed. (They also didn't make us feel bad for falling asleep in the waiting room.) The facility is as clean as a hospital.
Terrible service. If you can find another place to go to. Waited 4 hours for them to get me a piece of paper to sign so my dog could get 3 stitches and then told me to come back in two hours to pick him up because they are busy (3-4 other people there) to get to him.
Very nice staff. Glad they are there to help outside of normal business hours.
I am amazed at the reviews posted and how my sisters visit to this clinic went. No doubt about it.. money comes before anything else with this clinic.. and I'm talking lots of money !!! My sister used her house payment money for an emergency c-section on her Maltese. Both pups were dead and they reduced the bill to $900.00
The patient care and compassion is slim to none. We brought our dog in at 9:00 pm in critical condition. We never seen a doctor the whole time he was there. When asked to speak to the doctor we were told she was too busy. No one wore name tags, I didn’t know if I was talking to the janitor, a nurse, or a doctor. We knew our dog wouldn’t make it through the night but the nurse insisted not to give up. We put our trust in them, he did not make it one hour after we left. One nurse injected “medication” into his IV without any explanation of what the medication was /or why it was being administered. As a nurse I know this is wrong. Regardless if it’s a human or a dog, at least have the common courtesy to explain what is happening, especially while we are in the room. We were charged an additional $900 after he passed. (Grand total over $4500) It seemed like they just wanted to get more money out of us. And still the doctor didn’t come tell us what happened. Or what she thought happened. We have no explanation. We still have no explanation. No answers what so ever. Furthermore, this is the second dog that has passed away in their care. The treatment from the staff was identical. (2 years prior). We never recieved a call when his cremation was ready to be picked up. We waited 2 weeks and called ourselves to find out he had been there at least 3 days. And guess what. We still haven’t heard if our new dogs ashes are ready to be picked up. It’s been more than 2 weeks. Not surprised. I understand working in critical care. But it seems like the staff is completely unaware of their role. Have some compassion. If you don’t know the answer, find out. Assure us you care. Assure us you’re trying. I know critical care is hard and exhausting in both sides of the spectrum and with all things in consideration, I hope we never have to come back here ever ever again.
Dr Hooper is our amazing vet. So friemdly, caring, and considerate. A good friend to both furkids and their parents! Dr Fagan has also helped me after my dog was attacked by another dog with some questions I had they day after his visit to the Emergency clinic. Great place to take your furkid! And now they have a groomer there too which is very convenient.
my dog has had a seizure for the past 30 minutes and is believed to have a brain tumor. instead of helping my family and putting her out of her misery they want to charge almost 100 dollars for an "examination" fee, even though she can hardly breath.... you are a bunch of stingy pricks that would rather make a family suffer instead of lose a few dollars.
They took really good care of our dog. They removed a foreign object from inside her intestine. And our Corgi is doing pretty good
Our sweet dog was so sick and they helped me out and got her back on track! Nice people!
The vets work hard and fast, the amount I had to pay was a little outrageous. We had one vet assistant who wasn't very sensitive with my young daughter when our dog died.
Is was nice having it open at such a late hour, and having a doctor on site all night!
A few weeks ago, we faced the difficult decision of putting our old man tabby cat ‘Moby’ to sleep. He was seventeen years old and had been in decline for a while. I cannot fully express how grateful I am for the compassion and support we received from the staff at this facility. Dr. Rushing and Miss Natalie in particular were incredibly kind and understanding. I truly appreciate the care & respect the staff provided Moby up to and after his final moments. You are Good People, indeed. Thank you.
During 2018, one of our dogs, who is diabetic, started to develop cataracts. She was referred to Dr Hodgson at the clinic and had them removed. She has now developed Cushings disease and was referred to Dr William's who has got her on regular medication. Would recommend every time.
They took great care of our dog!
Upwards of $600 to save my diabetic cat from a low blood sugar crash. He was on the verge of a coma. They told us he was better off being put down before they even looked at him. They were rude, inconsiderate, and took all of our rent money to tell us what we already knew. They looked at him and said there was no hope. He is home, doing perfect now and I'm surprised at any good review these people have gotten. Worst clinic I've come in contact with.
I laugh out loud at some of these reviews. I took my very sick puppy to these guys and they were nothing less than awesome!! Dr Shaw was great, the lady at the front desk was very nice and they loved on my puppy just as I would have. It wasn't ridiculously expensive, but emergency care will never be cheap. I just want to thank them and also let them know I am very appreciative of what they did for my boy Kash. He is living up to that name. LOL
Last night, we run to this hospital for my kitty's emergency. I was following the hospital advice when my kitty had two surgery at this hospital they said come back real fast if my kitty start throw up. That's why we run to this hospital at PM 11:00. When we made there, no patient there at lobby only we were there. When the women Dr came to us for talk, she looks grumpy (no, looks mad) talk with too fast and loud voice. My feel like she want kick me out because we bother to her. She is really rude, and insult me and my kitty with she's word. And she didn't give answer our question. She just said "ask other docter" What mean that!? Why we came down here? She does make sure my kitty's temperature only. Why we needed come here? For make sure temperature? I does it every 2 hours at home! And she said "if you have any question ask other Dr I cannot answer." Who is she?? If I know before, what such kind rude and no brain Dr there, I never come here. 30 min drive made my kitty's stressful too ! She said my kitty don't have value no more for live! I was really sad and dissapointed this hospital.,I loved all Dr,s and all nurses except her, they were greatfull care on my kitty everyday when she stabled. I loved this hospital before I met her! She is not Dr. She is devil!
Clean, considering. The staff are compassionate, which means a lot to someone who is dealing with an emergency in the middle of the night. We had to have our sweet kitty, Cassie, put down because of congestive heart failure. They treated us well. They even sent us a lovely card.
I took my dog Bella to the emergency clinic last Saturday night. She ended up having to have surgery to remove bladder stones. Long story short she had complications and more exrays. My vet informed me that Dr. Shaw left some little stones and 1 big stone in her bladder. The surgery was over 2,000.00. Totally unacceptable!!!! No apology and should have been refunded money for a botched surgery!!!
I have been to this clinic several times and they are wonderful. saved my babies and were very professional. They obviously cost more then my day vet but they can do things your day vet cant! I think it is so funny that you all are ragging on the Animal E clinic about how expensive they are and the policies suck.... Do you know who owns this clinic?! It's definitely not the vets who work there or any of the staff!!! Its posted in the clinic at the front door who owns them !!!! Your REGULAR DAY VET!!! Your REGULAR VET set the PRICES and POLICIES that you are complaining about if you hate it so much you should complain to them that you don't like the way they run THEIR Emergency clinic. The people who work there are HEROS they have to see sick injured pets most of which is the OWNER'S fault and they have to be strong to deal with that and rude ill informed people come and accuse them of being heartless and not animal lovers and only in it for the money! do you think the employee set the price? That the employee set the policies you hate? NO your REGULAR vet who OWNS this clinic DID!!! You're ragging on these people for doing their job set to the standard the owner demanded or lose their job!!!!!!!!!! Did you know that more people that work in the vet field commit suicide.... I wonder if it's the heartache of pets combined with the AWFUL owner who blame vet clinics for being heartless and uncaring for not giving free handouts . 14.4 percent of males and 19.1 percent of females who are veterinarians have considered suicide since graduation. This is three times the U.S. national mean. 1.1 percent of males and 1.4 percent of females in the veterinary profession have attempted suicide since veterinary school. Its your responsibility ultimately to be prepared and take care of your pet. To keep you pet safe and out of stupid situations.
Had To Rush Our Lab/ Dane mix in for lethargy, unable to walk. We were well informed when we called that the office visit fee was $80. All the staff were friendly and attentive. They were really busy and gave everyone the attention we all needed. They did no tests or procedures without asking first and giving an estimated cost. All available options were explored and discussed. I am extremely pleased with the care our dog received. Yes it's expensive but it's EMERGENCY care and I'm so glad we have that option available, we are fortunate to have such high quality easily accessible care for our pets. I read reviews while my husband drove us and was a little worried, but none of the complaints I read held true for our visit. I will return if I ever need them again.
I came in with my pup around 3 in the afternoon it was extremely busy BUT I was taken care of 100% & treated with care. I didn't have to wait long at all to be talked to & taken care of .I highly recommend this vet if you need an emergency vet!!!!!
So thankful that we have a place to take our fur babies after hours in an emergency.
Was able to get in fast. Staff is very friendly
My cat had an elbow luxation so we took her here. They knocked her out and fixed it. She woke up after they were done and freaked. She tried to claw it off but her claws got stuck. They knocked her out again to clip them (they still did a bad job and clipped too low). When we went to get her, she had a big cast to prevent her from hurting her leg again (which was to be expected). What my vet told us after we brought her was that her leg was dislocated. Since she couldn't have done it at my house, we know that it happened when she freaked. So the moral of the story is, pay ~$700 for nothing (also dont come here unless your animal is about to die).
I called because my dog was sick, lady said “ get him to your vet” and hung up the line, very inconsiderate & unprofessional.
They are expensive and are kinda rude. They did take good care of my cat.
June 19th my wife and I brought in our extremely sick dog in for emergency care , had a very severe pancreatitis and had become diabetic. Had been informed by our primary vet on how bad this situation but was given hope by the vet at this clinic. It was all sugar coating . They did not call when things became worse , which we were told we would be, he never got any better . The vet told us he didn't see our baby crashing and burning yet thats exactly what happen and when we came to get him monday June 20th no vet would even talk to us but were told how bad our dear boy was by an assistant. To say the least at 8:55am June 20th after paying these people 1300$ I had to put my friend to sleep. I would avoid this place if at all possible.
Very pricey but good care
READ- DO NOT GO HERE- Essentially, they hold your pet hostage until you pay, at least, the $80 exam charge! I should have known this place was a SCAM when they took my 13 year old cat to the back to be examined without me. Then when the vet walked into to the room to speak to me..he called my cat a HE! and SHE is female! When i mentioned this..He said oh it is confusing due to the name...I have never known a vet to not first to check the animal to see if the animal has been altered, meaning he should know the sex of my cat if he examined it. The vet left the room and in came a SALES lady. She put out a "treatment plan" Totaling $1400 in front of me. My cat needed an ENIMA she was constipated!!! My cat suffers from Mega Colon, and on occasion, requires an enima, I have paid for this service from 3 other vets in 3 different states, and has never cost more than 150$ So...back to the story.. When I said "Hell no" The SALES lady returned with another treatment plan totaling $288. I paid the $80 for the exam..not sure he even gave her an exam..pretty sure he let a vet tech do it. I also did not like that it took them so long to give me my cat back!! after I paid. I had a bad vibe when I walked in there, and should have never let them take my cat out of my sight. Wanted to let everyone know. DO NOT GO HERE!! Wait until morning and go to WEDINGTON Animal hospital open 7 days a week 730am-10pm weekdays and 9am-5pm saturday and Sunday!!! I know we all love our animals but what is truly best is for your pet to be cared for by a doctor who actually loves animals too!! that's what I did! PS> cost me 147$ one tenth of the quack DR. SHAW
While I waited for my cat to be treated, they gave me a room to sit in and watch Netflix!
the only good thing about this place is that they where open at the hour we needed to at least look at our little mans paw-pad. it started with a routine trip outside to potty, and ended with a romp through the yard with his sister, an odd limp, and a bloody paw-print through the house. a call to the facility let us know the office visit was would be 80.00 upfront. we then drove 2 hrs. to get there, when we arrived the nurse, an overly rude red head with the worst attitude in the history of, stated she knew nothing about our arrival and we'd have to await her secretary's return for any paperwork and any info. meanwhile my brother is holding our 80lbs lapdog and they are both soaked in blood, and the dog is still dripping a rather large pool onto the floor. they took him back to exam him, and almost an hr later a Kyle Shaw DVM entered the room we where placed in for waiting. the verdict was a fairly deep tear the seam-line of the pad of his second two. witch would require 2 injections, 2 to 3 layers of stitching's an antibiotic, a painkiller, a ton of bandages and to do all this naturally would require him a lengthy nap. now i am very aware that vet bills can get extremely costly, so when madam rudeness came into the room and stated it would be approx. 4-500.00 i was prepared. unfortunately, we where in the middle of the pay period so we where equipped with a budget of 200.00. to witch she said with the utmost attitude possible " well i'll have to just go tell the Dr. about your budget so he can just bandage the dog up or something". Now I'm not sure how other people would take this, and regardless of there CONTINUOUS POSTINGS of a message that reads " WE UNDERSTAND THAT LIFE IS FULL OF STRESSFUL SITUATIONS, HOWEVER IF YOUR SHOULD BECOME RUDE, IRRITATIONAL, MEAN, OR VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO OUR STAFF, WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICES TO YOU AND YOUR PET. now honestly you would think that they themselves after seeing this posting so much, would actually allow it to sink in and be more kind hearted and understanding to people in there time of need. agreeing to the bandaging and shots and prescriptions we told them to go ahead and do something, because meanwhile not the "DOG" she refurred to, but a cared about in pain member of our family is bleeding from a nasty tear in his foot. after being moved from the tiny cubicle we where placed in upon arrival, now we are pacing the waiting room and did so for another 2hrs while they "bandaged" his paw. after tending to his paw we where asked to pay a 150.00 for 2 shots, some bandages, and the 2 prescriptions. the prescriptions shockingly turn out to be an antibiotic and a painkiller given to human's and low and behold, i actually have both of them here in my medicine cabinet. so we've discussed, waited, paid, waited, waited and waited for now another hr, and finally we get our little man back.he has a bandage job that my 5 yr old grandson could have done and what appears to be black and white checkered duct-tape. so, now we have driven 2hrs,sat for 3hrs,wasted 147.00, been rude to,and another 2hr drive, all for the worst possible care one could receive for a loved one, that i could have done myself. oh and to the gentleman who lost his beloved during all this, my deepest condolences, but unless there was an issue you where aware of, i'd be asking another vet who gives a damn for an autopsy report. if you can wait to take your pet to another place do so, because you'll only be over charged and under cared for here.
Animal Emergency Clinic saved our dogs life! So great to have a place open overnight on the weekends. Our dog got into some chocolate and they were great in helping her back to health!
Really grateful for this place. They worked with me on cost of service and saved my cat's life. He's back to his normal self thanks to the team at this place.
Best care I could ask for, for my dog. The staff was so amazing and could understand me so well with all my crying. Great place in case of emergency.
Just like a human ER, they are very pricey. It's just the way it is. They gave me a price breakdown and worked with me on what I could afford. They were very thorough and emailed a breakdown of everything that was done. I had detailed aftercare instructions and even though I paid more then I thought was necessary, the experience was all around top notch.
Expensive but took really good care of us
Saved our dog's life. Seems expensive only because no insurance so you pay the whole cost but less than half of what you pay for same service for a human. Staff is incredibly kind and compassionate. Would use them again, did I mention, saved our dog's life? To us it was worth it but was over one thousand so need ability to pay at time of service.
If I could give half a star I would just cause we couldn’t pay thousands of dollars upfront now our momma cat that had four babies in her needed a C section but couldn’t receive it so she lost all four of her babies
Not thrilled with my experience either. It wasn't busy with only 3 other patients but 3 hrs for exam, bloodwork and a shot. No definite diagnosis, just antibiotic, and pain med to take home. And a $350 bill. But they seemed nice enough.
On June 18th I brought my baby in. I would not recommend this clinic. I'm sure that they are caring people but it's all about the money. When you don't have 2000.00 to save your fur babies life. They should allow payment plans or assistance from a charity available for those who don't have that kind of money just laying around. I felt like I had no choice but to have her euthanized since I couldn't pay. It still cost almost 500.00 and now the emotional mess that I have been in since this incident on Saturday. And still not knowing what caused the pneumothorax (anaphylaxis shock was suggested) but doctor didn't have an answer. It wasn't caused by trauma is all they could say. Which I knew that much. I don't like being negative but I hope this will help others.
This place treats patients horrible. It's a last ditch place for a reason, don't expect them to have any dignity.
Terrible! My champion bloodline teacup Chihuahua is in a very BAD way because of those greedy people. Her last pregnancy/C-section was estimated at $700. This time they wanted $1710!!! No difference in her situation...just a huge spike in price within 4 months! We were ready for the $700...NOT $1710! SO they told me to take her home....to die...along with her 2 puppies! Awful people! UPDATE*** So much for their expert advice. She needed a C-section or both she and the puppies would die?? Really?? 4 months ago it was $700....now it's $1710??? Well, I'm happy to say they were WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! Mom and babies are fine! She didn't need that surgery! What a bunch of money-grubbers. Friends heard what happened, it's all over FB. The sad thing is, I have used them before and had no problems. This time? Oh hell no. No one just leaves MY BABY to die. Worthless place... I'll never go back. I'll just call my son (vet on the east coast)and ask him how to deal with emergencies. He is disgusted at their policies!
They were caring helpful and explained what treatments they were doing. Less than a week later we received a condolences card about our animal. This is a wonderful choice for emergency pet care.
Had to take my pup in on a Sunday, Very helpful and understanding Thank you
The veterinarians here are great, but the office staff is very disorganized and slow. However it's the only veterinarian emergency clinic in the area..
I just called.my dog is dying of a cancer mass in stomach.hes having problems.its time to put him down.and this place wants to charge me $80.00 for an exam.then got whatever they decide.as far as I'm concerned this place is about a dollar.not helping my suffering dog.he don't need an exam.really..take your pets elsewhere.and I will for sure spread the word about this place.there aweful.
I got there at 2:30 AM with my 17 year old cat who had just had an alarming episode. They were very nice and got her in quite quickly. It's improved since I was there last, several years ago. I didn't have to pay anything before they did the initial exam, this time. And there were coffee and hot chocolate available. There was a screen in the examination room, where we could watch a variety of things. They did a good job with the cat, too.
After another Vet misdiagnosed my Dog she was worse I knew she was dying I took her to the ER and I Have no Doubt they saved her life makes my Heart smile!
We had to use their care last night as our older dog was bitten by a snake. I looked at the reviews and was dismayed. I did not want to take my pup to anyone who would possibly be so mean and cruel as the reviews were making them out to be. They took fantastic care of Zoey and we were in and out in under two hours. I am so happy I ignored the negative reviews. I would like to address some of them from our experience to hopefully help someone else. I called before we left as it was a 45 minute drive. I asked the person on the phone what expected cost would be. It was a flat fee of $80 to be seen by a doctor and then they would give me an estimate before starting treatment. Honestly that is pretty reasonable. They can't diagnose over the phone and they don't want to be held liable for false information. We arrived and were asked some basic questions, at the time we thought the dog had broken a leg. Before they admitted her they let us know that he doctor had just stepped into emergency surgery so our wait to be seen would be about an hour. Again this seems reasonable when you think about the usual wait time in a human ER. They did take Zoey to triage her. I actually liked this. I had no idea what was wrong, what would make it better or worse. While we waited they did all the basic stuff so the doctor could get right to work and they made sure she was comfy and not injuring herself further. My husband and I were shown a small room and were told that we were welcome to watch Netflix while we waited. I have seen many reviews say the front desk lady was rude. She was efficient and on occasion brisk but she never seemed rude to me. The doctor came in almost exactly one hour later as promised. He was very honest and said from a physical exam and given that we live in a rural area he was pretty sure it was a snake bite. He found a puncture wound we had missed on our own inspection at home. He gave a range of options that went from $1500 to $200. He also made sure to let us know that in most cases the very expensive anti-venom will speed up the recovery but isn't vital to recovery. He was very honest about everything and in no way seemed like he was pressuring us to spend more money. If anything it seemed more like he was saying you have this expensive option but if you don't want to do that this lesser one is just as good, it just might take longer. Less than thirty minutes later we were headed out the door with our dog whom was already in a better mood than when she came in. Everyone who interacted with her was warm and kind. I was so happy with their service I will recommend them to anyone who needs an emergency vet!
Go here only if your other option is prayer. Bring money...all of it.
Since I'm almost positive these turdknockers keep deleting negative reviews, I'll keep this short and sweet. They will push you to euthanize. They don't discuss even the remote possibility of saving a dwindling life, and thats only AFTER you give them 80$ for them to tell you "lol yeah your pet has to die sorry" They dont let you come back to be with your baby during their final moments. They do let you say goodbye, but not during the euthanization. They're very impatient about money and dont offer payment plans for their obscenely expensive treatments. They're unsympathetic, rude, and coldhearted, so much so that it's semi inhuman. I understand they see tons of animals die every week, but when a young woman is literally having a mental breakdown and sobbing inconsolably in front of you because she's losing what she considers her child (because I'm infertile. Yeah. Euthanizing my pet was the equivalent to losing a child to me. Thanks for that, by the way), you don't regard her with annoyance and impatience. The salt in the wound was the card I was sent a week after my pet was put down. "Hey sorry about your pet. Here's a card to help you remember how your situation was handled." JUST GO TO THE VET ON WEDDINGTON. They don't push for euthanizing animals, and they're open pretty late.
Horrible! This is your only choice when you have an emergency and they know this! My dog was throwing up from possibly eating something... they wanted to hospitalize him bc he was dehydrated... they gave me an estimates of $800-$1300!! When I picked him up, it was a small potato he ate without chewing. They then asked for another $20 for additional fluids! This place definitely knows the spot clients are in with their pets and it shows with their price and charges for everything! They charge to preform CPR!!! Definitely recommend Weddington Animal hospital but they close at 10pm
My VERY distressed kitty was going to die with or without their help. They were professional, attentive and understanding. Thankfully they were available on the weekend... it would have been a long, long night waiting for a resolution. Lucy was mercifully euthanized on a Sunday. Gratitude to to the entire Staff!
What a caring staff! From the moment I called during an emergency to the next moment walking in the door, these folks are well trained in assisting both pet and"owner" in understanding the best next steps to take.... Thank you!
Thanks to your entire staff for the kind and understanding care we received recently. So thankful you were there for us at 4 am on a Sunday morning. Everyone was polite and professional and acted quickly.
My visit here was not under good circumstances, but this team quickly made me feel that they cared. My 13 y/o dog was not well and had to be put to sleep, but even under those conditions this clinic made it as easy as possible to cope and say goodbye. They gave me options for identifying treatments and were honest with the prognosis. I hope to never have to return here since it is an ER for animals, but would return if I have the need. They even sent me a condolence card later that week. I do recommend them.
We have used the Animal Emergency Clinic numerous times. They are always very friendly and professional. We are so glad they are here.
Awesome to have this lifesaver. Staff are very caring and easy to work with. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the expense. It's sad to me people have to go into debt to save a family member or if they don't have thousands or good credit they just don't get to at all.
Expensive but, the service is great. You can tell everyone truly cares about animals.
One of the most unfriendly animal clinics I have had the misfortune of trying to get treatment for my Lab. You should expect them to take your animal away from you into the back somewhere and you have no idea what is being done to them or how they are doing. While they MAY be professional in their care of your pet, you have no evidence to support that assumption! They have a serious deficit in human interaction and common courtesy. My Lab came out extremely nervous, panting and shying away from everyone when she is normally very low key and laid back. I will never be back and I cannot even consider recommending this place!
So we brought a family members puppy once we heard she wasnt doing so well, since they were unable to. She wasnt doing well at all, and the front staff was very helpful. (That is the only reason why its getting two stars, especially the nurse on duty). Like everyone else, I agree that the prices were outrageous and expensive. The staff gave us the option to have her hospitalized, or take her home. The family members decided to try and take her home to give her care in their home. And here is the infuriating part- they told us nothing about her deteriorating condition. That she was getting worse and worse. And the main reason for taking her home was the price. We would have kept her there if we had known. Anyways they bring the puppy out to me and her breathing is off. Before I even leave the parking lot she stops breathing. They grab her and start CPR. We are worried out of our minds and crying. Unfortunately, she passes. The vet (Jarod?) tells us what happened, and was very matter of fact, and I'm sure he runs into these situations, before but a little compassion goes a long way. It's been two weeks and havent heard a thing about picking up her ashes from her cremation. Very disappointed.
Our 7 month old had a rawhide which is bad due to chemicals used to separate skin from the animal to begin with. Too much rawhide can cause a blockage and/or irritate the intestines while scraping the lining. They took good care of our dog while tending to critical emergencies of those who brought in their dogs crying which I respect and appreciate. X-rays showed some gas in the stomach but overall no critical issues. They recognized his discomfort and gave him a pain shot, antibiotic shot and are sending us home with a light pain medication and more antibiotics. Price was very reasonable. Everyone here today on Christmas Eve has been a pleasure to work with. On another note I am a clean freak and noticed no smell and the establishment is very clean along with the restroom. Thank you all again!
Rapid, excellent service. Costly!
I almost let the bad reviews prevent me from taking my dog in. Luckily, I went anyway and didn't wait until Monday for my regular vet. Staff at the front desk was extremely polite, professional and just plain nice. I went on Sunday morning, almost no wait. The doctor (female) was also very kind and prescribed antibiotics and pain meds for my poor dog. They were clean, had Netflix playing (Friends) in the waiting room. There was a touch screen tv with Netflix in the personal waiting room as well. The examination was $80, (we used to pay $80 at our regular vet in CT.) The rest of the treatment was at a regular price. All over good experience. Oh and they all referred to my dog by his actual name, very nice touch. And faxed all the paperwork to our vet for reviewing.
Odin was just over 2 years old. He had been blind from an eye infection since he was only a month old, and he had seizures. We had taken him to a couple of different vets to see what could be causing them, and although he was on prescription medication they still happened. The first vet ran a lot of blood tests and said the only other thing to do would be get an MRI, but she did not know where. The second vet just said that the only thing to do was try to control his seizures with medication. Late Sunday evening we noticed Odin was having some trouble moving around. He kept tripping over things, and acting like he normally does when he has a seizure. We thought it would be normal, so we made him comfortable and kept an eye on him. By Monday morning he could not take a step without falling over. His normal vet was closed for Labor Day, and their answering machine said we should call the Animal Emergency Clinic of Northwest Arkansas. So, we did, we took Odin in at 8 Monday morning, and they immediately took him from us, talked to us for a few minutes about epilepsy in cats, and talked briefly about where we might get an MRI for him, and then asked us for 650 dollars to run blood tests and watch him. He had blood test done before, but we hoped that they could find out what was wrong. So we broke out the credit card, paid, then went home to get his medicine. When we came back around 10 we were told that his blood-work had all come back fine, but they wanted to keep him under observation until we could take him to his normal vet the next day. They would call us if anything changed, but no news is good news from them. I called around 5 and was told he was fine, resting comfortably. I called about 10, just before we went to bed, knowing we would need to be up at 5 to pick him up and take him to the All Cats Clinic. I was told he could not stand up, and that they were turning him every couple of hours. I admit, I started crying. I asked what the chances were that when we took him to his vet in the morning, they would suggest we put him to sleep. I was told that they did not like to make that call, and we should get a second opinion. I said we had been looking into MRIs and found one about 3 hours away, did they think it would do any good. I was told that it might do some good, if Odin lasted that long. I should have gone and gotten my furry friend then. But no, they are doctors, they will call me if something happens. I cried some more and finally fell asleep. I was awoken at 2:30 by a call from the doctor…Odin had suffered a massive seizure a couple of hours earlier and just died. They tried CPR, but it did not work. My husband and I got up, got dressed and went to get him. We did get a refund of 105 dollars, though I noticed they charged us 10 dollars just for giving him his tuna flavored medicine that we brought him from home. We collected Odin’s body and left. I did not realized until halfway home that they kept his 2 new bottles of medication. I know he will not need it anymore, but it would have been nice to bury it with him, it was his. No news is good news? You mean, not calling me when my cat was dying. Letting him die in a tiny cage, away from home, and away from the people who love him? Is that what you mean? I have to find a new vet. I will not go back to this veterinary ER, and I need someone who has people on call in case one of my other furry family members has an emergency. I did not get to say goodbye to my best friend for the last 2 years. I did not get to hold him and lie to him and tell him it would be ok, I did not get to help ease his passing because these people did not tell me what was going on or let me know that he was dying. You did not kill my cat, I understand that. You also did not tell me he was too far gone, you did not keep me informed. Even when I called to check, you did not tell me what was happening. I hate you, and I miss my Odin.
They charged me 656.11 on Friday night and left the diagnosis open She was worse Saturday. That bill Was1082.00 yes 1082.00 Picked her up Monday morning took her directly to my Vet.The ER(Joke) said Pneumonia. She had all kinds of tests and X-rays was Not Ckd. For a UTI.I had asked if she was Voiding and was told she was.Upon reciveing the bill .She Had been Cathed. She had a serious UTI.Those people are not compassionate ,
If I could, I would give this a rating of 4.5 stars, only because the lady at the front desk wasn't very friendly, nor welcoming. But none the less, my German Shepherd puppy was well taken care of by the nurse and the doctor. Because it is an emergency clinic, the prices of the treatment obviously are higher, but I was mainly concerned that my puppy was going to be taken care of, and she was. Hopefully I don't have to come back for an emergency; however, if that time comes, I will definitely be glad to come to this facility.
Our Labrador became ill on a Sunday, we felt fortunate to have this facility available to have her checked out. We found the staff to be professional and experienced, talking us through their evaluation for a solution. We are grateful they were there for us. As far as expense, their prices we felt were inline to any 24 hour emergency facility
I called and they put me on hold, I was on hold for 45+ min before I finally just hung up
Great place with a caring staff.
They always treat our furry family with great care
When my dog was sick I took her here being a weekend. That wanted to do over a thousand in testing which was not possible. Later that night she started pooping blood and my wife called them back in tears asking for any ideas what it could be and they LAUGHED at her. Our dog was literally dying and they laughed. The next morning I took her to our local vet and as soon as we explained the symptoms they did a parvo test and it came back positive. At our local vet not only is the care better they also see us as family instead of dollar signs. They are also charging less for diagnosis, and long term treatment than this place wanted to charge me just for testing.
I took my dachshund in for pain related to disk disease. The lady at the front desk was kinda cranky, but the 'nurse' and the vet were great. I know some have said they are rude, but I did not see it [although front lady was not too pleasant]. Price? Well, yeah, they are expensive compared to the regular vet. They deal with animals in crisis, which usually means unexpected vet bills for owner, so that is not a happy situation. They also sit around fully staffed waiting for patients to show up, which can cause prices to be higher. Overall I was VERY glad they were there for us when we needed pain medications for our dog.
Kind and showed genuine concern for my dog's well being.
24/7. Reliable. Honest. Quick.
Saved our puppy ! We got two little boy Bichons (brothers 14 weeks) and one has been very healthy the other was in the ER only two days after getting home. He had Bronchitis and Pneumonia. I lost count how many times he was in the ER. Two months, five different antibiotics, cough suppressant, pain control, steroids, nebulizer and vaporizer every day. He made it ! The staff were kind, caring and the Vet's we're always great. They brought in a specialist to consult which helped. None of them were sure he would survive the night more than once. They never gave up.
They were very sympathetic when I brought my Maggie in. She was very sick with a heart condition. We had to put her to sleep. They gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye to her. It was the hardest choice I've ever had to make. I got a sympathy card from them a few days later. I felt that was very nice of them to go out of their way to do that. I am going to pick up her ashes today. I know it was for the best.
Dr. Winter was wonderful! He saved our Barnabas.
They took good care of us with a weekend emergency dog fight
What a joke. We get charged $100 just to arrive there. Telling me you recommend me to pay $650-$800 to keep my dog overnight. We ordered a blood test and toxicology screen, total of $260 just to be told you have no clue what's wrong with my dog. You take him from us (when he doesnt like other people) and charge us 300 for absolutely nothing. What a waste of time and money.
Would not ever return or recommend to anyone. Fantastic front desk attendant- staff completely clueless.
They saved my dog's life. The staff were attentive and courteous. Our small dog snuck some Valentine's day dark chocolate that we thought was out of reach. We brought him to the clinic where they told us it was a potentially fatal amount. They acted swiftly and our dog was fine in the morning like nothing happened. Sure, emergency service can be expensive but when you're in a bad situation you have to weigh the benefits.
Bubba walked in like he owned the place
My dog was attacked and injured by a neighbor dog. I'll never return here again. Extremely rude staff. Do not expect to see the actual vet, if you do it's for less than 30 seconds while they introduce their assistant. Their incredibly rude assistant vet and front desk staff are the epitome of unprofessional. Zero bedside manner. Do expect to wait hilariously long times for estimates before they'll do any work. I've never had to poke my head througha door and say hello at a vets office to find someone to tell me what was going on. After asking someone we then waited an additional 15-20 minutes for the estimate. Do expect to be lied to about treatment your animal is or isn't receiving while out of your sight. Fraudulent, extortionists.
Dog seen quickly..minor strain but they checked everything to make sure.
My twelve year old shih tzu was well taken care of by this team. The doctor explained his condition well and have us or options to treat his condition.
They are so kind and helped my broken heart with their heartfelt sympathy
We brought in our wolf/German Shepard mix into their office on a Sunday afternoon she had a gash about 7 inches long and about 2 inches wide on her rib cage. The Vet, the veterinary assistant and the receptionist were all so wonderful and carrying. They told us Bella would need emergency surgery to clean out the wound make sure there's no interior damage and to close the wound. We were expecting it to cost us around $1200 but it ended up only costing us 537. I think they are wonderful for an emergency vet clinic. Which is what most people don't understand they are there for strictly emergencies on pets not to hold the owners hand and comfort them, they are there for pets only!! My dog was very well taken care of and If any of my animals have another emergency this is the place I would definitely bring them'!!
We were very fortunate that they were able to successfully perform emergency surgery on our 10 year old lab for bloat. It was very tough on us but they were friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. Obviously we were pleased since our dog survived the ordeal but even if he had not, I would have felt that they did everything in their power to help him. We even received a credit on our bill for unused services. Highly recommend and hope not to be back but will have no reservation coming back if necessary
Labradors can have shellfish allergies, who knew. Glad the emergency clinic was available and open. Thank you
Please do not come here... Read the reviews prior to making a decision.
Very helpful
Will not help any animal only thinks of the money they can get.
Our dog needed their help and they did their job. Need more places like this. Would use them again. Thanks for your help.
My dog has Glaucoma and I was so nervous and scared when I found out. The eye doctor put my mind at ease in a 10 minute visit.
For all of you who have posted about the "poor care", "All they want is money" statements, regarding this "Emergency Veterinary Hospital"....you should all slap yourselves! I'm not even going to ask obvious questions, like do you know how hard it is to become a Vet? I'll just say this....for every review on this wonderful services' page that is negative, know that's 1 client that would not have been able to pay, even their own normal Vet. So please explain to me how a small animal clinic could stay open for business? You all have no idea the hard work that all these people do behind the closed doors. IF YOU OWN AN ANIMAL, HOW CAN YOU NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD ITS CARE? EMERGENCIES MAY HAPPEN!! You should be prepared or not own an animal. You are the same people who walk into an emergency room and demand to be seen but leave without paying! Or you have no insurance to begin with. Like the lady who lost her cat and was mad about not getting her cats Meds back so she could put them in the ground with him! Really??? Why wouldn't you go donate those Meds to an animal shelter? Frankly, Because these are the same people who also never volunteer their time or money but expect other to do it for them! Think about it.... Thank you to all the wonderful staff and Doctors who make this after hours service available to us. I am thankful you are here in case I'm ever in need of your services again.
Animal Emergency Clinic provides high quality emergency care to pets in NWA. I work at a veterinary clinic and when my cat needed overnight care there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted her getting the best at AECNWA. They have saved so many lives over the years. We are lucky to have such a high quality option when other vets are closed.
Gave them 1 star because I need to say this. Worst experience ever! My son and I took his precious dog in, sat for 3 1/2 hours, no response. In the meantime, they carried a euthanized dog out right through the main waiting room and put it in the car with a family with 4 children. Maybe they asked for that, I don't know. But people all over the waiting room were crying, including my 11 year old granddaughter. They finally called us back for consultation, but again, just kept sitting there for almost another hour. Finally, my son couldn't take another minute of this and demanded his baby back. I highly recommend you never use this vet unless it is an absolute emergency. Please read all the reviews.
My husband and I had to put our dog down and it could not wait until the scheduled vet appt. When we got there they took care of us right away by putting us in a room while they put the catheter in our dog. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted with her. The vet came in and he was very compassionate. He explained to us what he was going to do. When she passed away they left us with her for as long as we needed. The staff was wonderful.
DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!! They seem to care more for the money and not for your pets care. We sat for over 3 hours in the waiting room with zero communication when my PTSD Beagle hurt her hip, I asked how much longer and was told we were next and it would be a few minutes, and was told that the doctor had looked at her and he needed to just tell us what he found, that was not true and it turned into another 35 minute wait inside the little room waiting for the Doctor, his assistant came in after 3 hours and 35 minutes and said that she had not been seen yet, I lost it and told all of them how horrible of an experience that this facility is and the Doctor told me and my wife that we needed to "TAKE OUR DOG AND LEAVE". Yes, we were told to leave and they did not treat our dog, they actually went and got her from the back room and opened the door and threw the leash that was attached to her collar on the ground and the doctor, his assistant and one of the ladies that checked us in just walked out and said nothing. So if you go there be prepared to wait for hours and do not show any frustration towards the inadequate service your getting and be expected to pay full price and hope your pet does not need life saving because you won't find what your looking for here. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS FROM HERE AND BEWARE. We will never go back and will never recommend them to anyone.
They don't care.
Very kind staff. Very empathetic and accommodating when we had to put our dog down unexpectedly on a Sunday.
The staff were very prompt in helping my ferret breathe. She had to have emergency oxygen. I was a bit upset that when I went to get her in the morning to take her to a regular vet, they didn't warn me than my ferret was gonna have to gasp for air for almost 3 hrs before the vet opened. Thankfully my fuzzy baby lived. Be cautious in any situation.
Came in with an emergency with my very old kitty. We discussed options and decided to put her down. The staff was very kind and considerate. Good place. Good people.
If your vet is closed and you can't get in touch with them, this is the place to go. They will save your pets life, they will let you know the cost up front, but just know they are a LOT more expensive than your regular vet. This is an emergency clinic and you will pay emergency room prices. So make sure you are financially prepared for that before showing up because they DO WANT payment up front before they will care for your pet. With that said, once they've received payment, they will do everything they can to care for your pet. The downside to my experience is that when my pet was released within hours after having a major surgery, it was the day after a holiday and I had to try 4 other vet clinics before I found a vet that would take her in for after care. They also transferred my records to a vet that was closed, then the CD of her x-rays from her surgery was blank. They were waiting on multiple people at the same time because they require you and everyone else to pick up their pet by a set time in the morning or they charge you and additional fee. I felt like we were falling thru the cracks getting what we needed and rushed out the door because they were so focused on getting everyone out the door with their pets by the daily deadline. My experience was on a holiday weekend. So they have been short staffed and overwhelmed with additional pets from the long weekend.
Helped to save my dogs life.
This would be my LAST option to take my pet; apart from the ridiculous prices, their service was poor. The moment I walked in, they were rude and almost seemed annoyed we were there. My pup suffered a mild head injury and seemed to be paralyzed for a few minutes. Well, their response was without a doubt, to euthanize. They wouldn't let me see my pup and wanted to charge me over $1,000 to watch her a couple of nights through the weekend AND IF she made it, I could "pick her up Monday and take her to my regular vet for treatment." Really? So why did I take her to you in the first place? They pushed lightly for me to euthanize. After insisting to see my pup, which she was happy to see me the second they brought her into the room and jumped into my arms, they said, "she is only fine a few moments and goes back to not knowing what is going on". After waiting another 20 minutes for "discharge" (seemed more like reasons to charge me), I took her home. I was not going to leave my pup there. I don't live far from the hospital, so when we got home, she jumped off the car, ran to the bushes, peed, smelled, ran up the stairs and jumped onto the couch and took a well-needed nap. I'm not a vet but I felt lied too the entire time. The way they kept pushing to put her down, EVEN as she showed to be completely fine..and not to mention the ridiculous price to just 'watch' her until i could take her somewhere else... Just wanted to say, "I'm glad I didn't listen to you. My pup is running about, eating, sleeping.. She's happy and alive."
Lady on the phone was unbelievably rude and needs to learn how to speak to people correctly. I would give - 10 stars if I could. All I had was one question that a vet didn’t even need to answer but I guess questions cost $80 to be answered. You’re supposed to help pets but it seems that y’all are just money hungry.
Took our 10yr maltese mix for cough that was getting much worse. Diagnosed with bronchitis but told based on chest xray that she had heart disease and heart was 2x size it should be. Was told to visit our vet Monday morning (this was Saturday evening). The ER vet seemed pretty grim about outcome. Spent next hours in tears. Went to our vet. They did new xray because her heart sounded fine and 2 of the three xrays ER vet had done looked OK. New xray showed heart was a 10. The range for this size of dog is 7- 10.5. So even though high in range it is within range and no cause for worries. No heart disease. The antibiotics did get rid of her cough. But all that worry, needless tears and expense for their three xrays and wrong diagnosis.....???? Really makes you wonder about taking your pet there.
I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. We took our dog last night. I knew about the $80 exam. Then they wanted $700 to $1000 to get started. The staff were very uncaring. They are definitely all about the money. They wouldn't do anything for our baby that didn't start at $700. They couldn't tell us what was wrong with him but they did offer a humane euthanasia to ease our pain. This place is a joke. I will never EVER take another animal to them. They do not care about the animal, they just want the money.
My cat was in distress when I went there, and the staff sprung into action and took him back immediately. I was offered a critical care form to sign, but they gave me the option of talking to the doctor and approving the course of action to ensure costs did not skyrocket without my knowledge. We ultimately had to put our cat down that night, but the staff could not have been more compassionate. The doctor was honest, patient, and knew what he was doing. To top it all off, we got a very thoughtful card in the mail a few days later. I was nervous because of the low ratings, but they did not reflect my experience at all.
Really nice and clean. Very good care and sweet people!!
My dog got bit by a copperhead and they took good care of her. They gave her fluids and a pain shot plus meds to bring home all for $245 which is a good deal for a emergency vet. Good thing is she didn't need anti venum because that costs $700!
My dog was injured after being attacked by a pack of dogs. We live out in the country and so getting him to care quickly was important, but also time consuming considering our commute. I was checked in and helped quickly. One receptionist, I want to say Kat was her name was extremely kind and helpful and she was very sweet. The other was quite rude and I did not appreciate the way she acted or talked to me. But that is neither here nor there. Dr. Shaw was the vet on call the night I took my almost 8 year old Basset Hound, Bernard in. He was kind and he visited with me a few times throughout the night while we waited for diagnostics and initial checks (X-rays, etc) to be completed. I was told that if that they were able to get Bernard's blood pressure up and his body temp up and get him from critical to stable condition the prognosis for survival would be 50/50. I did pay the over $1,000 up front for his care. In my experience, emergency vet clinics all charge high fees so this isn't an individual scam they are pulling. Around 2 am I was called and notified that Bernard did pass. I opted to have a private cremation so that I could bring his remains home. They told me that the amount I had paid the night prior was enough to cover the cost of the cremation so I did not owe any extra. I was surprised by that, and as little as the cremation was in comparison to the cost of the night before, I am glad they were honest enough to use what I had paid towards that. I was notified today that Bernard's remains were ready for pick up at my convenience (5 days post death) so I am also glad to be getting him home so quickly and before Christmas. It is difficult to leave a review when the outcome was so unfortunate. I do not feel as though I was mistreated or that I was overcharged. I do wish when I had asked to see him before I went home for the night that I would have been given the opportunity to do so, but I also understand that that may be against their regulations and that special circumstances can't always be made.
Went in on Christmas day. They took very good care of my dog. Probably saved his life.
I came in on a Saturday evening for a hot spot on my dog. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. Wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be either. I hope to never have to use their services again, but I'm glad they're around just in case.
Dr Jarod Williams and his assistants we're great. He spent time explaining things and was very detailed. He followed up and checked on us which was much appreciated. We ended up having to put my Corgi Boot down but he tried figuring out what was going on. Appreciate all they did.
They are great with our dog Lucy.
During one of the difficult times in my family; losing my pet. They were nice and respectful to my family. Very understanding and patience to what we were going through
I brought my 14 yr old CKD cat to them this morning at 0630 because she had symptoms of something wrong needing immediate attention with a cat in renal failure. When I finished telling the person at the desk what was wrong, the FIRST thing she said was "What do you want us to do?". Granted, she did say it nicely and not sarcastically at all, but WTF. Here I am worrying about my cat crashing and I am asked what do I want them to do. Then she went on to say even if they did start a workup, I would have to leave at 0700 (less than 30 minutes at that point) and take her to my regular vet because they close at 0700, even though my vet doesn't open until 0730. The nurse had already taken my cat back and I said to just check her to see if she's stable enough to wait an hour. When the nurse came out she repeated as well that if they started a workup, they basically would kick me out at 0700 (my words) because they close then and I would have to take her to my regular vet, and according to her my cat definitely needed to be worked up. I get that they close at 0700. I was told that at least 3 times, so I understood that quite clearly. But I wouldn't have taken my cat there if I didn't think it was an emergency and the only reason I'm writing this review is because the FIRST thing I heard from them was "What do you want us to do". That upset me so much. I want you to have compassion, I want you to gently say to the worried pet parent who may be about to cry that you will check to make sure their pet is stable, but you are sorry that you are closing in 30 minutes and if she doesn't need immediate attention then I will have to take her to my regular vet. Human Emergency Rooms are legally bound to make sure the patient is stable before shipping them out, maybe pet Emergency Rooms should take on the same policy instead of asking "What do you want us to do".
Although my visit to the emergency vet was for the very sad task of having my sweet 16 and 1/2, year old girl Lola euthanized, I left feeling cared for by the staff. They explained the process to me and gave me all the time I wanted to just be with my sweet dog and breathe her in and kiss her and sob into her fur both before and after the procedure. I felt their compassion and it resonates with me still. Thank you to the staff at Animal emergency vet.
Very kind during an incredibly difficult time.
Prices are completely outrageous. Was well over $1500 just for fluids for my dying dog. Called today to get 1 can of ProPlan gastro food for my other sick dog because we forgot to run by our normal vet and they won’t sell it without seeing him. It’s bland food with no medication. Ridiculous!
During a very difficult and scary time this clinic was a huge asset. Took my German Shepherd in with what turned out to be an extreme case of Ehrlichia. I don't think we were there even 20 minutes before they had him diagnosed. I believe dr. McLaughlin is the one who initially treated him Sunday night. She was very knowledgeable and proactive. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful as well.
