Charged $1800.00 for doing emergency c section delivery of one puppy, from a Chihuahua.

If I could choose a lower rating than 1 star I would. We took my sons puppy in for rat poison and they wouldn't treat him for it without doing and charging for other and more testing first. Almost $230 later with zero help for what we went in for.

Chris Biagi

Plain and simple the staff couldn't be any better. Rachel took Momo, Momo got stitches, but otherwise all was good. Staff A #1 professionals.

The staff and doctor we very nice, and hospital itself was very clean. I understand that emergency surgery is very expressive but I was only briefly informed about the overall price. I was told that the price of my dogs procedure was going to $1830.00 (not including the $900 for the first procedure I had already paid for) and that covered anesthesia, iv fluids, any medication, and hospital stay. I was also told that when I picked him up that I would get medication and food for him. When I picked him up they told me that I owed them $520 for hospitalizing and medication (which I was told was included in my total amount. I told them I could not afford the $520 and they told me that I would have to pay it if I ever want to use them again (which I understand ). They never informed me of extra charges. And didn't even recommendme to buy the antibiotics and pain medication. They just took it back out the bag I was going to be getting.

My Siamese cat, Coco, who is 7 years old and weighs almost 20 pounds is my baby. I rescued him from the pound when he was 6 weeks old. Someone had left him in a box on the interstate in freezing rain. A couple of weeks ago, he became very ill, could hardly walk and was screaming in pain. I rushed him to After Hours Animal Hospital and they took him back immediately. After a while they told me he was in critical condition and he was quite possibly going to die. Dr. Key worked on him for many hours. All I can say now is, "She saved my kitty's life!" All of the employees were wonderful! They treated Coco like a real baby and kept me informed constantly. The place is so clean and pretty! I can't thank them enough for saving my "best friend." I will recommend this hospital and their staff to everyone! They are GREAT! The only thing I would complain about is the price. My bill was over $1,000.00!!!

They wanted to charge us over $1500 for a procedure my vet is doing today for under $400. I paid almost that much for them to just look at my baby. I understand they are a business but they completely take advantage of worried pet owners.

They saved my baby’s life!!!

I think it's pretty sad when you bring your animal in because something is wrong and they prey on your vulnerabilities. They hand you a piece of paper marked with all the possibilities they can do for you right then when most of it can be done the next day at your veterinarian for a much lower price. Shame on them. Stabilize the animal when know it will be okay until next day.

I had to hospitalize my poor dachshund when he had pancreatitis. He did great and I really trust any of the doctors there with my pets! Dont be afraid to ask questions about treatment options!

Amber Richardson

The people here are disgusting, female employees touching each other and pulling hair, saying sexual things in front of customers. While I waited for my dog to be seen for a possible broken leg after being ran over, I noticed an employee (really skinny with a black beanie hat) going back and forth to her car 5 times in 1hour to smoke. I also over heard another employee (name tag says Irene) telling a customer and employee about how she used to be addicted to meth! Employees shooting dirty looks at people, when a woman came to pick her dog up someone said "I hate stupid people for letting their pets get overweight".Talk about a very inappropriate work place! When they took my dog back they wanted $650 upfront just to look him over and a total bill of $3,875 to put a cast on him. Very rude disrespectful disgusting people, please don't take your pets here if you love them! I decided to take my dog to Dr Eubanks in Jacksonville for a total of $350, no payments upfront and he will even allow a payment plan.

They would not even treat my dog because they were closing. They told me at least 5 times, they were about to close. I will never go back. I have already heard things about them, nothing positive, but I was desperate. I was told to go to my regular very and that they were closing soon. Awful

Our senior dog went into cardiac and respiratory distress after our local vet was closed for the day. Their after hours answering service referred us to the After Hour Animal Hospital. We took our dog there and they were absolutely fantastic. They were caring, warm, and compassionate. They immediately did an examination, took X-Rays, and found items our local vet completely missed (she had an undiagnosed heart murmur and two massive growths - one in her chest cavity and one in her abdomen). Ultimately, our pet passed but to no fault of the staff's efforts. They were all very respectful and got our dog cleaned up, and brought her into the exam room after she had passed for us to say our goodbyes. They gave us as long as we needed and never made us feel like we were imposing on them. A couple of days after our dog passed, we received a condolences card in the mail with a small piece of colored card stock with our dog's paw print! This clinic goes the extra mile! I wish it was not almost a hour away from my home as I would take all my animals to them. Some have complained in their reviews about their "lack of compassion" because they would not make payment arrangements. That is simply not true. While I am fortunate enough to be able to have paid for our visit, they had numerous payment options and even a pet healthcare loan available via a third-party. I think that those who are complaining were simply trying to get something for nothing. I would recommend that anyone with a pet in distress after hours should definitely use the After Hour Animal Hospital!

BC I was a few dollars short instead of looking at my dog they wanted to just put him down

Tonight was the hardest night I have experienced in years. Tonight, my dachshund had his first seizure. After bringing my boy to the After Hours Animal Hospital, I was immediately placed in a room. The technicians were friendly and made a point to talk to my boy. I was able to see the Veteranarian within 15 minutes of entering the clinic. The Doctor was kind and was very upfront and honest regarding my dachshund's grave condition. After diagnostic testing and labs, I discovered my dachshund had a large abdominal mass. The Doctor discussed each lab result and showed me a copy of the X-ray. After making the difficult decision to allow my boy a peaceful death, the staff were present and apologetic for the situation. The staff at After Hours Animal Hospital made me feel like they knew me and my boy for years. Even though I am crushed with the situatuion, I was pleased with the experience and customer service. Thank you for your help tonight. I appreciate it more than you will ever know.

Great establishment! The staff and Dr's are fantastic and have taken excellent care of our pets. Our family trusts the care of our pets to them completely.

Kelly Smith

Wonderful folks. Our first experience with them was with a very sick puppy many years ago. At one point they told us, "We have no idea what's wrong here, so we are just going to throw everything we've got at it." A few hours later, the pup was feeling better and we were on our way home...and they did not charge us a fortune for it. A few years later they fixed a hamster that the cat sliced open - she was good as new. I've been back three times, each time when it was time to say goodbye to one of our three German Shepherds. We were always treated with kindness and lots of compassion. They truly went above and beyond to make a horrible situation as bearable as possible.

Worst Vet ever. All they cared about was you paying up front-not sympathetic at all to the diagnosis of bladder cancer for my friends dog. In one full sentence, the Vet said, "She has bladder cancer, it'll cost between $920-$1,200, what would you like to do? Y'all look dazed." Well hell yes, they were dazed, the Vet just told them that their dog has bladder cancer! What a joke of a Vet, it's clear that he needs to retire and is tired of his job. There are plenty of other animal hospitals to go to in that area, avoid this one at all costs. It's a shame that he's still in business.

Sheila Ruiz

Went last night... had an amazing experience last night bailey at the front desk made me feel super comfortable. Price was very reasonable for a visit and meds to get through the weekend. Will definitely take my dog back if it is needed

Heather Adams

They don't even deserve one star. Go to another clinic. So rude and mean...they only care about you paying up front...not at all worried about my pets condition.

Barbara Tuer

I took my new pup Bella here last night to get her leg looked at. They were so nice and the lead vet assistant (I'm sorry I can't think of her name right now) was so nice and knowledgeable and gentle with our pup. We had to wait a little bit because the doctor had just done a surgery , but there's really nothing they can do about that! They were upfront about pricing and very understanding when we couldn't afford a couple things they were wanting to do. They gave Bella some shots for pain to help her sleep and some pain medicine until we can get her into a vet to get checked out. She gave us recommendations on how to keep her comfortable and safe until we could get her in. They are super understanding and caring!

All of the staff is wonderful and answered all of our questions. They did not push for unnecessary treatment and quick solved the problem with our schnauzer.

I called at 2:30 am, in the middle of holding back my anxiety. I spoke to such a sweet woman. She calmed me down and walked me through how to handle my situation. Told me how much benadryl to give my dog and when. But most importantly she had the heart and the kindness to stay with me the whole time I needed it. I wish I caught her name. Thank you.

Although it ended up that we had to put our beloved pet down ... I could not have asked for better care. It was over a holiday and no other vet was open ... we came an hour and 10 minutes away because we could not bare him being in so much pain and did not have $200 just to get another vet LOCALLY to open the door to even see him. They were kind ... gave us time ... and today, we received a condolence card. I could NOT have asked for more caring people to help us. Thanks you!

Took my dog and was promised he would be better after a night in their hospital. Went to get him and he is not better. They have no idea what's wrong after supposedly running a bunch of tests. Should have not charged us so much.

The staff were super friendly, attentive, and took excellent care of my dog. I couldn't have been more pleased with a weekend vet visit!

Please please please don't take your pet to these people . We took my English Bulldog to them on a Saturday night he had ate penny's and a dime had a allergic reactions to it . So they did a X-ray to find out he had a few more they were to do a surgery witch wasn't suppose to be a 15 to 45 min surgery said if it didn't work within 45 mins she would just open him up and do it that away . Witch was suppose to call and let use know I had called 4 times to see how he was doing they couldn't tell me nothing but he was fine they were still doing surgery. We left to go find a room witch was at 817pm they called me at 1210am to tell me that she wanted to go ahead with the other surgery witch he has been under since 845 it is now 12 am . You are not suppose to leave a puppy under for 4 hours. She then said he was fine all thorough the surgery but when they were waking him up he took 2 breaths and that was it . I'm at a lost for words for my lil man Luke . Momma loves you baby boy . This will not be the end we have on recording that she was at fault she never should have kept him under that long . Just please don't take your beloved animals to these people

S P

Exceptional service very kind did not even make us do a test to give us the meds we needed. Prices were very reasonable for a emergency. These people love animals but they’re also are in it for a business so you do need to pay money, I don’t understand why some people didn’t like them and gave them only one star must be idiots

Had a very sick boy. Very much appreciate these guys getting us right in on a Sunday and being so kind.

Brought my acutely asthmatic cat in Sunday night about 10PM, wasn't confident he'd make it to a POSSIBLE visit with my primary vet the next day, if I could get him in. Hospital vet agreed with assessment. He was gravely ill and on an obvious downhill slide from my experiences to date. In hind sight, my cat started displaying earliest symptoms Friday night and Saturday morning. Had I recognized them, I wouldn't have gone on my day trip Saturday. Returning home, he was obviously asthmatic, but I hoped I his pulmonary function would decrease like previously observed and allow me to see the regular vet and save much of what became a nearly $500 bill. I have no problems with the quality of care received; it was great. The cat was down to 65% lung efficiency and worsening. My issue is the hospital and possibly my vet's business model, especially to my financial detriment. Typically, my cat receives at least a long term steroid to counter the allergic response, sometimes sufficient if brought in early enough. Most often, he also needs a fast acting, short duration steroid to aggressively address worsening symptoms. The hospital only administered the short term steroid meaning his symptoms could return as the condition may not be completely resolved in the next 12-24 hours; they weren't. Upon inquiring why, the hospital explained that local vets, possibly your normal vet(?) didn't want the hospital to step on their practices by giving long term, 'regular vet' medications. The hospital needs local vet referrals, "one hand washing the other..." This meant, I had to do a follow-up visit with a follow-up additional office visit bill to get my cat COMPLETELY treated. Imagine this, if I had to bring my cat in for emergent care Friday night and was only given the same short term steroid, was told to 'do a wait and see', and he didn't fully recover Saturday and started to worsen again... I would have to bring him back Saturday night or Sunday again??? NOT happy about my cat only being partially treated because of local vets'... greed(?)... if true. The hospital vet said they don't even stock the second steroid because of the concern/conflict. Who should get most of the 'stink eye' and pointed finger? Again, my cat's care was great!

Extremely nice people also extremely expensive would recommend waiting and going to your regular vet if at all possible

Terri Lindsey

We had to take our dog, Charlie, in last night to get stitches after playtime with another of our dogs resulted in a skin tear that couldn't wait until morning. I just can't say enough about how kind and caring they all were. Of course it costs a lot when you have to have emergency care after hours. We expected that, having had dogs all our lives. I will definitely recommend them, if you ever have the need. They understood our finances and tailored the best possible solutions, based on what we could afford. We left there feeling that he received very high quality care and that every thing was going to be okay. These folks truly made us feel like they cared and could trust them and feel comfortable with them. Of course, I hope to never again need an emergency clinic, but if I do, and I probably will, I will certainly use After Hours Animal Hospital.

Chrystal Godair

The staff is very caring. The drs are fantastic. I know my fur babies are in wonderful hands when I have to use them.

I am a doctor in Little Rock and know what is wrong with my dog, seeing how she has contracted the same disease as her puppies which all died this week, and want me to spend 300-1000 dollars on various treatments before giving me a prescription for the medication she needs to survive. I have the diagnosis from a current vet in vilonia but will be closed tomorrow for the holiday. These "physicians" do not care about animal life only how much they can squeeze out of you. If I could prescribe the meds myself i would but no only a vet can. Sorry excuse for a doctor and business model. I just hope my family member can survive till Wednesday to buy the 20 dollar medication.

William Lowe

Extremely knowledgeable and caring. Great thorough exam.

Twice I have had to make a mad dash to this clinic after hours and I feel a deep sense of relief knowing I have them to rely on! I am a Certified Vet Tech who used to work emergency medicine. I know how hard it is to juggle emergencies, care for patients, keep up with paperwork all the while comforting owners who are rightfully upset and frightened. This clinic strives for excellence in patient care and owner care. While you will never please everyone, nor save every patient, the excellence is in the trying! The Harms family deeply appreciates your hard work!

QThis place is AMAZING! I thought I was trying to carry in my fur-babies who was barely breathing, could not walk, and his tongue was purple. They took him straight back and I had to let him stay overnight but when I picked him up. It was like night and day. He was mad at me, but he was better.

Laura Keen 17

If I could give this place no stars I would. . I think we received the WORST service ever. We bring in our English bulldog puppy who is puking blood can't breathe. We call ahead of time and let then know we are coming from Morrilton,AR. Rushing to get there. As soon as we get in their the receptionist hits us with MAJOR attitude. My sister and I are telling her that the bulldog puppy is asphyxiating. She literally rolls her eyes at me and tells us to sit down and fill out paperwork. Our bulldog is possibly dying and we have to sit down and fill out paperwork. Ok nothing left to do so we sit down, then 20 mins later they come get him to do vitals. We finally go back to the vet who acts like he has never went to vet school very attitudal and RUDE, tells us he really doesn't know what's going on. But that the puppy was asphyxiating. I wanted to go out there and tell the receptionist yep I told you! Then he sends a girl in there to talk about what we want to pay for. Everything was about money money money. Our dog was dying and they we're just like sooooo what do you want to pay for. So opted for x-rays first. For them to tell us our bulldog is puking blood because he's constipated. And when we tell them he just used the bathroom. They didn't know what to say. I can't believe this is the only 24 hour emergency vet anywhere around. It's horrific!!! Needs to be assessed!!!! He will be going to his vet in the morning. They are taking advantage of people who are in desperate need of vet care in the middle of the night with nowhere to turn. Astronomical price gouging and HORRIBLE service. These people don't need to work with people or animals! They had terrible manners!!

Ultimately, my dog, Prim died from complications from IMHA, but doctors at the After Hours Animal Clinic were the ones who diagnosed her and gave us two more months with her. Yes, it's pricey, but they tell you an estimate upfront of the charges. And, I'm not sure what people expect. It's an EMERGENCY vet clinic, of course it's going to be expensive. The first time we had to go there, they had to keep Prim all weekend to give her a blood transfusion and fluids. She got round the clock care with detailed notes for our veterinarian. They called us with updates and encouraged us to call and/or come by and visit at any time. The second time she had to stay overnight, they also took very good care of her, but Dr. Brooks was sure there was something causing the IMHA, most likely cancer, and she was honest that her prognosis wasn't good. Prim passed away later that day at our vet. During the two times we were there, Dr. Brooks just happened to be the doctor on call and she was very sympathetic and kind. I wish I could remember all the names of the vet techs. They were great as well. I have two other dogs and if they need emergency care, I won't hesitate to take my dogs there. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place.

LV Palmer

We had to have our 13 year old dog put down on a Sunday. Everyone was so kind and sympathetic.

I will never forget the date 5/31/2014 about 12:30 am my husband and I brought our greyhound (Beate) into the clinic with complications with labor . The assistant has a personality as if we were bothering her . than the dr. comes in to tell us that there is a breach baby stuck and will need to do a c section my husband who has been in the greyhound business for over 30 years and has seen many vets NEVER has been treated with the disrespect as this vet did and also the discard of my Greyhound she was doing up a estimate and my husband said to go ahead an do the c section he knew this needed to be done ASAP. next thing she does is grab the xrays and through them on the table in the back like we were bothering her with this. about ten minutes later the assistant comes out and tells us to take the greyhound somewhere else oh and gives us a number to another vet then we ask why no answer are you kidding me. than we asked where this vet was located she told us to call them. WOW when we drove another hour to get to the other vets office and they did the surgery she died and four of the babies Beate was only 3 years old and was worth about 5000.00 this was her first litter. SHAME ON YOU! I can promise you I will NEVER bring my animals to this hospital ever again. oh and I am filing a complaint against the vet . I hope this place revaluates there office staff and vets.

My dog was shot the staff was friendly but it became very clear that the need of my dog didn't out weigh the need to be paid by the end I paid over 300 to get a x-Ray and bandage that 24 hours later doesn't cover the wound any more i wouldn't recommend unless like myself you had to have care for your animal

Took care of my dog, very nice staff.

Took my amazing companion of 9 years here on a Thursday night due to having not eaten in 5 days, throwing up clear liquid and panting in pain. He was diagnosed with a tear in his bowels, which was supposed to heal after taking several gastro medicines. So I paid the $700 bill that evening and took Jared home. Just a few short days later, on Sunday, I woke up to him whining and throwing up. He was in tremendous pain. It was Sunday so I took him back to the After Hours Clinic where a different vet advised me that his abdomen was full of blood due to a hemorraged valve. Surgery would have only given him a small chance and short time to live. I can't accept that the vet could do a better job of reading his xrays on Thursday night. I only had $184 left to my name to pay for his departure into the next life. That was only enough for euthanasia and to put him in a group cremation. I was told that I could not accompany my precious child as he departed unless I came up with another $46. I simply didn't have it. I had to wait in the other room. I am still struggling with closure. More than that, I want him to see his person as he went to sleep for the last time. Not a stranger. Momma loves you Jared. You will never be forgotten. I will see you at the Rainbow Bridge. Trying to capitalize on the pain parents feel when they are having to put their animal to rest is completely sick and unethical.

Kerri Slayden

Everyone was very friendly and compassionate. Waiting area is pretty and comfortable. Went on a Sunday morning and was out in about 3 hours. Pretty expensive- but not as bad as I expected considering the day and the fact that it’s an emergency facility. I definitely recommend them and will always come here when needed.

holiday weekend, puppy falls off of the deck. Possible broke leg? $330 later, 6 hours later - they bandage the wrong leg and send us on our way! really? My son accepted the puppy, since she is his. As soon as we get home, I look at her closer and realize they really bandaged the wrong leg! Even the paperwork stated the other leg was the problem!

This was the worse animal clinics I have ever been to.. rude and no customer service skills

Colin Gray

24 hour clinic, you'll pay for it. Fair services all considered.

Airys

Horrible place to take your pets. Sat there for an hour with a puppy showing signs of parvo saw 3 doctors. They never even looked at him, only said we want this amount now, then long list of stuff later will be extra. Even just bringing the dog in and sitting there for an hour cost 84$. For those who don't know running a parvo test on a pup who has the vaccination in their system as he does is useless because it will show positive yet they still wanted to run it. Pathetic group of vets; IF that's what you can call them. My advice? Go to Beebee. There's a vet clinic there with a wonderful doctor. He saw my pup, in 5 minutes had him diagnosed and gave him two shots. My puppy is now running around playing, asking for food and water (which I'm still having to limit so as not to relapse him). In fact is he was better after FOUR HOURS of leaving the vet in Beebee. Two shots and an exam cost me back 20$. Don't waste your time, money, or your pet's sanity at After Hours Animal Hospital. It will be a complete waste. You can get better care for your pet at Apple Farm Vet Hospital in Beebee and its not gunna set you back 700$+. After Hours is only concerned about getting as much money from you as possible in the shortest amount of time. They could care less about your precious pets.

Elizabeth Davis

Money, money, money is all they care about. Our dog was injured after the regular vet had closed and we drove an hour to take her to this place. They wanted to do exploratory surgery, keep her for 2 nights and a mile long list of other things, to the tune of $3500 UP FRONT. We opted to have her bandaged, give her a shot of antibiotics and a shot of pain killers and take her to our regular vet the next day. That alone was almost $200. The next day, the vet took xrays and said the bandage was all that was needed. We left the bandage on her for two days and gave her more antibiotics and pain medication, as well as two follow up appointments and our regular vet cost a grand total of $80.

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! The absolute worst experience ever and so incredibly rude and cold-hearted.

They treated my dog with best care great place great staff.

To expensive !!!! Get ready to pull out your Credit Card. I have never been able to get out of here w/o it costing big Bucks.

Lauren Bondhus

Last night 9/17/15 I took my baby in because he was continuously vomiting and not eating..While they were taken his vitals and the nurse whatever they are called hurt my dog. And so when a sick dog his harmed they will protect themselves. My dog bit them and was put under quarantine for 10 days. He also tested positive for parvo. Well before I left they charged me $982 for on top of this morning for 12hrs of treatment $354.78 so over all they charged me $1334.78! NEVER GO THERE! THEY WILL DRAIN YOUR BANK! IM NEVER GOING BACK!

Lisa Baum

The nastiest manager and staff I have ever experienced. People like this should NEVER work with the public or animals. Unprofessional and unbelievably rude manager and staff. Manager actually lectured and scolded me about the fact that I am supposed to ring the Bell for service and then a little while later this same horrible manager shook her head at me in disgust right in front of me at the front desk in front of other customers because I went out the front door rather than the side door for some fresh air (it is very dirty there), all this nasty rude and angry customer service as well as a hateful angry technician responded to me inappropriately while asking questions about how to administer my dogs meds, she said, in a rude horrible tone "its on the bottle". All this attitude and a $350 bill clearly did not include a pleasant professional experience. Think twice before bringing your pet here. I waited 4 hours to have an abundance of nasty attitudes. These people are disgusting. Do no go here. These people should be working alone somewhere where they do not have to do interact with people or animals.

Dave Pointer

I have used them twice, and they offer a needed emergency after hours service for pets. I have always found them profesional and efficent. The only thing to remember is you will be paying a premium for there services

Kathryn Norton

Do not take your animal to this clinic. I just had a horrible experience. Dr. Nilz has the worst attitude - he was demeaning, would not listen, his medication plan was unnecessary and made me very uncomfortable in an already emotional state. At one point I had to tell him I did not like his attitude and it needed to change. My dog had a seizure and he immediately wanted to put him on seizure medications without doing any other prior testing. Because of his terrible attitude towards me, I then did not trust the clinic, so I declined their services and left. However, their business space is clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating even after the incident with the doctor.

Brittney McKee

We were seen very quickly when my dog had a snake bite, everyone was extremely nice! However the recommendation was to leave her over night and get IV fluids. And a lot of emphasis was out on her hypokalemia and that there was no known cause of it, every research article I’ve read since has listed hypokalemia as a side effect of snake bites. So I feel like it was a bit deceptive. Also she was given gabapentin for pain, this is a nerve medication. When I asked about the response was it is frequently used for pain and evidence supports it’s use, that it was even used for pain in adults (human patients that is) and while that is true I happen to know that it is used for neuropathic pain in people, which is a completely different pain source. When I asked about tramadol the vet said it shouldn’t be used in dogs and for an effective dose my 45 pound dog would need 300 mg of tramadol! I’ve looked this up since then and the max dose is just over 1mg/pound , which is consistent with what my normal vet prescribed for her last surgery. My issue is that the vet at this facility acted like my hometown vet was inappropriately dosing a drug that is not recommended any longer, which is not true. She even went on to say gabaoentim is so sought after as a pain med that it will be controlled soon. I had a hard time not hard eye rolling at this as a family medicine practitioner. Overall I was so grateful to care for my sweet pup! I would have given 5 stars if I didn’t feel as though there was a bit of deception to get her boarded overnight and a bit of make believe when the vet didn’t know the answers to my questions, or maybe didn’t like me asking questions. I don’t know but as my pups caregiver it is of utmost importance that I felt confident. I will be getting her to her primary vet ASAP for evaluation. So grateful for the hours and availability of this clinic as well as how gentle fast and sweet they were to my pup!

Amber Duvall

Thanks so much. The Staff was good to us. All ways upfront with my bill but my dog was 1st. Fast to get him right back. All I can say thanks

So glad this place is here! My cat went missing for about 4 days and when he returned he had several wounds on him with maggots already visible. When they came in the room with an estimate, they gave me options of what I wanted to do or not want to do. It was my choice. :) of course I told them to do everything that was needed. So thankful that they were open. It was about 10pm at night and I tried calling around, but they were the only place open. The staff was very nice and understanding and the doctor seemed to really care about my cat. They answered all my questions and when it was all done they even faxed my records to my regular vet, so they would know what happened and already be prepared when I came in for the followup. The lobby and rooms were very clean and didn't even have a hint of pet smell. This was the first tI'm I ever had to use them, but Wil definitely be back if need to and will recommend them to anyone in the need. 5 stars for sure!!

My Boston terrier Beaudrox was coughing so bad he couldn't breathe. The vet was GREAT! She walked us through the xray where his heart had enlarged 3 to 4 times normal. She went over all options and helped me make the most important decision then ensured that it was out of the most love that I put him out of the distress. I will definitely recommend taking your loved ones here. Very compassionate and very reasonable prices. Rest in peace Beaudrox.

I called 4/2/2017 about our Guinea pig and even thought they only work with cats and dogs they were welling to help us put our guinea pig down so she wouldn't suffer. My husband brought her and when he arrived there she was hardly breathing and they took him back right away. They were all really respect of our loss and we really appreciate their help in our time of need.

We had a 16 year old Boston Terrier named Harley and we knew he was nearing the end of his life. He was going blind, and was starting to have trouble getting around the house. On a Saturday night my wife and I saw it was getting worse. We decided that following Monday it would be best to take him to the vet we normally went to to have him put down. Unfortunately, early Sunday morning he had gone completely blind, falling over everything and running into walls. He had no sense of direction and was totally lost. We knew we couldn't wait. It wouldn't have been fair to him to keep him alive another day. So we decided to bring him here. We called prior to coming. A lady named Lisa was very gracious on the phone and had a room ready for us as soon as we got there. She was very compassionate to me, my wife, and my son. She comforted my wife who really took it the hardest. She let us spend our last few minutes with Harley. We opted not to go back to watch them put him down. Within a few minutes she took him back, while we waited and came to tell us he passed quietly. We took him home and buried Harley in the back yard. A couple of days later we received a sympathy card in the mail from the clinic. I can't say enough about how gracious and compassionate Lisa was. We miss Harley, but the way Lisa treated us that morning and the card we received made things really feel peaceful. Thanks so much for your caring service.

Be cautious of taking your pet here if you are unable to pay for treatments before services are rendered. Only my second-hand experience, but the clinic refused treatment of a female dog who was unable to have puppies naturally if the owner didn't fork up the estimated cost of $1820 for an emergency C-section. The owner was sent home. Female dog lived 4 more days with dead puppies in her. By the time a whole lot of generous people raised the funds for the C-section, there was too much infection in the female dog and she was lost on the operating table. The dog was a service dog for a disabled lady.

I am so thankful for this place, if not for their caring team my furbaby would have died,we drove from Malvern and we were well informed of the cost, and were given options ,thank you after hours vet

As relatively new parents to our ex-racing greyhound, we are so glad a place like this exists. For our little late-night issue (possible issues from spay complications), they were extremely prompt and Dr. Nielz was kind and explained everything (and associated costs) very well. Within a couple hours, we were on our way home with a clean bill of health! Of course, there is a bit of a premium cost for after-hours emergency clinic, but I was not negatively surprised by the cost: pet ownership is occasionally expensive, but I felt they were fair and even suggested against extraneous tests.

Great service from great people.

Maria del Valle Moreno Jimenez

Worst vets ever. They only care about money. Do not take your babies there. They don't care about them or about your feelings. Money is what they want. Terrible place.

Ashley Pike

Brought my cat in with breathing problems. The staff was very welcoming when we came in the door, and the assistants and technicians were very caring when they had to assess my cat. The veterinarian came in and discussed her concerns along with necessary diagnostic measures. I was able to express my concerns, and the veterinarian was very receptive of my input. My cat got the best care possible in an emergency, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care he received here.

Gary Clough

Great that it's there, but it's kind of shabby.

we had 2 experences at this animal hospital...first..at the begining of the year we had to rush our dog (bruno) too the vet bc he was just laying around and not moving, it was about 9:30pm when we got him there, everyone was nice and frinedly and ready to help with his care. we had to pay first, and go over the medical cost it was about $1,000.00.... we singed the paper work for them to start "looking him over" he wouldnt move or stand up, so they frist did x rays to check and see if he had spinal damage, or somthing, and that was not the case....so 3 hours later they told us that all they can do is fluids, and see if that helps (not knowing whats wrong), they all where very friendly and helpful, the vet that was on call was as nice and didnt beat around the bush either. finally we go home and get a call around 6:30-7AM , telling us that they did blood test (even tho we opted out of that Option) that he had DOG DIABETES, and his organs was shutting down bc he had kidney failure as well. We had to end his suffering, and also got a refund of $400.00 back.... That night they where nice people and nice nurses. and i had a "OK" experence their with everything that happend with Bruno..... the second time we used them was Jan. 15th. at 3 am, a rotti attacked the little dog that we had, and we rushed her too the same people, (thinking they gonna help and be nice) we was very wrong, the vet that was on call, and the vet tech that night where not friendly at all. seemed like they had a stick up their ass...anywho.... we took her their and up front it cost me $140.00 just for them to see her, (which i had no problems with)... they came back to the room and told us how much it would cost us for them to "do what they needed too" . they wanted $1450.00 up front, and said the cost could go too $2500.00, I then told them my budget, and what I wanted done, which was x-rays to see if her foot was broke, they REFUSED to do it!!!!!!! when i even had the money to cover the x-rays etc.....and i asked how bad it looked and i could never get a straight answer out of them, (the vet or vet tech). I was very P.O'd about this time, and then they say, well we close in blah blah time, so we would have to ship her to East End Vet,which opens at 8. (its the closes vet we have) and i told them to just give her a pain shot, and wrap up her bite marks, and ill just have my Vet do it. so that cost me $140.00 and we leave around 450ish from that place and we took our dog home and waited till MY vet opend which was at 8am...and it costed me $500.00...after they done did the surgery and splented her leg...(my vet told me what he was gonna do too her, and what all was wrong) and i paid after they did it...needless to say she is doing better and I will not use them again, they lost my respect, and i will not refer them to ANYONE. they where stuck up, and did not seem to want to help my family, I understand its an Emergency vet hospital, but maybe your "employees" need to be more plesant with the families thats going through a tough time....or better yet invest in NEW employees. I recomend people NOT TO USE THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL..

I went with my mother because her dog was peeing blood. From the second we met the Vet, he was incredibly rude. He had no compassion for the situation or my mothers feelings. He was in a hurry to give diagnosis and get money. The assistant, bless his heart, was so incredibly slow! Clearly this was an emergency, we're at an after-hours clinic and the dog is bleeding everyone!! What a nightmare...this clinic needs to close it's doors. What a disgrace to the community.

Brandi Bruce

Overly priced and crappy work.

Jessica Cole

Took our dog Bubbles there after she had been ran over. The tech was amazing and the doctor was so kind in delivering the worst news, that our beloved did not make it. They offered a wonderful creamation option and now our baby is home again. Thank you for everything. It meant so much!

Dr. Hunter and the staff was just Awesome! I took my baby there Sunday evening, he was spitting up blood; a sm 3 . 4 lb long hair chi 14yr. Old and they kept him there for two days and he is so bunch better. Sure it cost me. But what would you pay for someone you’ve loved for 14 years! ❤️

Other than the receptionist being friendly, I will say that the visit to this clinic was a complete disappointment. I sat for over three hours in a nearly empty waiting room in order to be seen. I understand that other cases take time, but when the back area staff is constantly coming out to the lobby and complaining about how tired they are and how they can’t wait for midnight, it is hard to believe that there isn’t a lull for another patient to be seen. Once we were finally seen by the vet, I was told that from hearing my dog in the lobby it did not seem like he was an emergency patient. Fantastic news but this determination was made from literally nothing more than listening to him bark. The vet did a quick exam and told me that the issue needed to be addressed but it was not urgent or life threatening. She said everything could be handled by a regular veterinarian. At that point, I was ready to leave. If I can monitor my dog and give him alternate remedies and over the counter to subside until first thing in the morning then why wouldn’t I do that? The tech then came in and asked what my budget was and began discussing a treatment plan that was compiled of every single test that my regular vet could run at nearly triple the cost. As I told the tech, there isn’t a budget when it comes to the urgency of saving the life of my pet but if you are both telling me that it isn’t necessary, why are you trying to sell me on an overnight stay at your clinic? Not only that but I already knew the employees in that clinic were biting at the bit to leave for the evening. Who would be there to watch my dog? I’m assuming there is someone else that I haven’t seen? Some person designated to stay from the hours of midnight to 7am after the clinic closes? But even so, I was already told my issue was not urgent. I declined the additional services and went back to the lobby to pay my bill. When I walked into the lobby with my dog, the wet floor signs were all up and the clinic smelled of bleach. I know it is necessary to clean the floors to disinfect but we were still in the clinic. When I asked if this was safe for my dog, the guy cleaning said “Just walk him through a puddle outside and it will clean it all off.” Wait...what?! Isn’t bleach dangerous to animals? Why in the world would you clean the floors with bleach when you still have a pet in the clinic that you know is about to walk in the lobby? There were literally 10 minutes to closing and the cleaning could have waited until then. However, the constant complaining about being tired and being “so ready to go home” made it clear that leaving the clinic at the stroke of midnight was much more important than ensuring that your patients felt comfortable. I hate to write a poor review because I know that things happen but nothing about this visit warranted a positive rating. I hope nobody ever has to visit ANY emergency vet clinic but if you do, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Refused to save my pets life unless we had the money upfront, and they didnt care that we wouldve had the money the next day. Also didnt offer any support or concern on the matter when i talked to them on the phone. I dont usually do reviews, but this one is worth it. I hate this hospital, and there is really no excuse for their actions.

We took in a stray that had been shot. She had a dislocated shoulder and many other injuries and massive infection. The Vet said what we already knew, that she was clearly neglected and abused for a long time. Amazingly this dog that we thought was a stray and had been living on the streets for months had an alleged owner. She contacted after hours and claimed the dog was hers. So they discontinued treatment & refused to give us any more information on her. We are a rescue and was willing to pay all her vet bills to get her as healthy as she could be. The vet said it would be expensive but was treatable, but we were willing. Instead of contacting authorities regarding the abuse and neglect they allowed this woman to show up and kill the dog. Animal cruelty is against the law, yet this vet turned the other cheek and let this monster get away with it.

My pit bull had cancer and take mass cell tumors removed 9 days before her issue happened that we had to take her to after hours clinic . Friday morning she had her stiches out . Friday afternoon she had busted a spot open where they just took her stiches out about 630pm . So we rushed her to the after hours clinic and was so shocked by the way they did us . Tried to tell us she had to b put to sleep and it was going to b 500 to 900 to put her to sleep and put new stiches back n her . Really come on now . So we said we will wait and take her to our vet n the morning at 8 am Saturday. Did just that . My vet numbed her up and put stiches n her for free . Told me that place just over charges people bad . I will never go back to that place . I can't believe they do this to people who love their animals and want the best care for them . The best place to go my vet said was the place n west little rock .

After hour Animal Hospital is a great place with wonderful and caring people. I had to take my cat 2 tone here during the last snow and ice storm we got due to my regular vet having hurt my cat by clipping his nails way to short and causing them to bleed. The vet and staff at After hour Animal Hospital took 2 tone in right away and fixed him up in no time for me and they even told me that 2 tone has a heart murmur which after 2 years my regular vet never told me about. I definitely recommend After Hour Animal Hospital to anyone with a pet emergency.

giver7700 .

When I got there I told them my dog was shaking because he had been on prednisone for irritated bowel syndrome but it was making him lose sleep so I took him off of it. He told me prednisone was safe and he couldn’t be having any problem from prednisone he said he was having kidney failure and I needed to put him to sleep to keep him from suffering a horrible death. Of course I didn’t want him to suffer but he was only 18 months old and had been in good health. After debating I decided to let him go and keep him from suffering a painful death. After I got home and did research on prednisone withdrawals, the symptoms are the same as kidney failure. I knew then because this vet didn’t listen to me about the prednisone misdiagnosed him and killed him. At the time I had no experience with veterinary medicine like I do now. I would never take my dog to this clinic unless you just want to put him to sleep.

Laurie Howard

Kind and very compassionate.

Unfortunately we've had to visit 3-4 times for a few issues with our dogs. We've always received prompt service and seen the vet in under 10 mins. The prices aren't bad for emergency after hours care.

Harley Quinn

They refused to see our sick puppy who was so small from throwing up. Just because of their new policy about care credit card holder being on the property.

I have used this clinic many times and the staff has always been friendly and caring. Yes it is more expensive than your regular vet. Yes they want the money up front or else many wouldn't pay. It's all spelled out for you as soon as you arrive. They give you a list of recommended treatments and you can choose which ones your pet will receive. All their diagnosis have been spot on and my regular vet has continued with follow-on treatments that were started by the After Hour Hospital.

Nikita Herrod

Very nice to my dog. Quick service. Honest treatment.

The staff & vet I saw on June 5 were caring & professional & good at listening. Our boy cat Tarcoola had compacted anal glands. He is recovering excellently & is in high spirits again. Thanks! Kimmy Riley

Do not ever take your pet to this clinic... we rushed my English bulldog there and as soon as we walked in, the receptionist was so RUDE! My dog was puking up blood and couldn’t breathe and they still made us fill out papers wait in the waiting room. When we finally seen the vet, he was clueless to everything. Acted like he didn’t know anything and tried to make me feel like i didn’t know what all i was talking about! They was more worried about going over the MONEY sheet before actually trying to look at my pet. We ended up paying over 300.00 for X-rays and for them to tell us my dog needed an enema and a pain shot! How do you get an enema from your pet throwing up blood and trouble breathing!!! They wanted him to stay all night but no way was I leaving my baby there! I will not ever be back! The worse place ever!!

David Elrod

They did help my dog, but make no mistake... They are in it for the money. I received an estimate of 1700.00 that consisted of every conceivable test plus 2 days stay. I just asked for x-rays and blood test to find out what is wrong. Ended up with 400.00 bill and a dog on the mend.

Kelly Renee Wilbanks Szuch

We took our cat here to be seen due to difficulty delivering a kitten. We left because the vet tech finally (after being there at least an hour) told us that since our cat didn’t have a rabies vaccine, if they tried to examine her and she so much as scratched them, they would LEGALLY have to immediately euthanize her. Had they told us this from the very beginning, we would have left immediately. First of all, they open at 6, yet the vet on duty didn’t even arrive until around 615. Second of all, they took our cat to the back before the vet arrived and didn’t even do anything for her. Third of all, the vet couldn’t communicate properly with the tech and the tech couldn’t communicate properly with us, so we were told multiple different versions of what the quote they gave us actually covered. Furthermore, the tech couldn’t even read the vets handwriting, so she couldn’t even guess as to what the written portion of the quote said. Also, the actual vet never even so much as came in the room to explain or discuss anything. We left without being seen and the tech was able to give us some pointers on getting our cat through the night in order to take her to a normal vets office. The tech was great except for not being able to properly convey the treatment plan to us; however the vet is mainly to blame for that. I also felt they tried to convince us to leave because they had 2 dogs come in after being hit by cars, so they wanted to free up the exam room they had us in. We did get our cat to a normal vets office the following day. They not only told us (along with multiple other vets we called) that the whole “LEGALLY obligated to euthanize” her was COMPLETELY wrong, but they examined her, gave her a rabies vaccine, 2 views on xrays (for less than 1/3 of the cost this place tried to charge us for 2 views, by the way), did emergency surgery, and provided pain meds and an e-collar for her for less than half of what we were quoted for it being done here. I understand it being an emergency clinic, but they are honestly in it for the money only. It is VERY CLEAR this is the case. The vet didn’t care enough to even TRY to explain or discuss anything with us. They’re extremely unprofessional and overpriced for their subpar quality of care. I would not even send my worst enemy here.

David Barker

Staff seems caring. Very expensive though.

Rickey Pate

If I could choose a lower rating than 1 star I would. We took my sons puppy in for rat poison and they wouldn't treat him for it without doing and charging for other and more testing first. Almost $230 later with zero help for what we went in for.

Carey Benedict

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very upfront and honest about the prices and worked with us to do the best for what we could afford. I would come here again.

Kristopher Gates

Never go to an after-hours emergency veterinarian

Ryein Crowder

Rushed my miniature schnauzer here all the way from Star City, AR at 730 pm Sunday night. She was throwing up, couldn't walk, and lost control of her bowels! They rushed her into the back and the vet came in within 30 mins and told us what was wrong! Picked her up Monday morning at 630 am and she's great!! Turns out she had HGE which can be very fatal if not treated properly and fast! Big THANK YOU to Dr. Brooks and everyone working that night! You saved my baby's life and I am forever greatful!!!

misty

All this place cares about is MONEY!!! We brought our dog here last night. The staff seemed friendly at first until they did X-rays then it was all about the money they go over the sheet marking things with a 1 that they advise you to do I did all of them for our dog. After paying them $500 we were able to take our dog home they all made it seem like he was going to be OK... boy was I wrong from the time we left the clinic til the time our dog died was 45 minutes!!! Our kids had to watch their dog gasp for air and die it was awful!! I called the clinic and their response was I will mail you a complaint form. Seriously people that's what you have to say? I will NEVER take any animal there again

Gracie DeLong

Amazing people. We were seen by Jeremy, who was very kind and cared about our fur baby just as much as we do. They gave us the best possible care at the best price. Would not take my dog to any other after hours clinic.

K L

Our neighbors mastiff broke our fence and attacked my 4 month old puppy, which resulted in him needing emergency surgery on his neck. They saved my dogs life!!! I'm so thankful this place is here. The staff is very knowledge. I also know that they stay very busy each night because they are the only after hours clinic within hours of central Arkansas.

I took my dog there with what I thought was abdominal issues, and it turned out to be muscle issues - not life threatening, as I feared. The vet was kind, informative, and gave me options for care without forcing or playing on fears. My baby is home and doing much better.

Kelsi Ball

Doctors explained everything and were able to treat our pup and still stay in our price range. Definitely get the service and care you pay for. It is expensive but it’s worth every penny.

GreenDragon Tech

We had a tragic loss today, but they came highly recommended from my sister in law who is a vet assistant in LR. The entire staff was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. We were highly comforted during the whole process. Really can't recommend them higher.

Anthony Key

If you want your pet to be treated by staff that couldn't care less if your pet was dead as long as they get $$$ before it takes it's last breath, then take your dog here! These people are horrible and rude. Next time one of my other pets (since the one I carried here is dead now) needs medical attention I will wait until morning and carry them to High Hopes or Jacksonville Cabot Vet Clinic, because they would have a better chance of survival waiting to see a veterinarian that actually cares to diagnose and treat illnesses. If you care about your pet you will do anything but take them to this worthless place!

Rayxor .

Everyone there is great. Dr. Nicole is awesome and Ashley was so patient with us. This place is like an ER so be prepared if someone comes in after you with a seriously injured family member they treat them first. Thank you so much for being there.
