We've been going to Val Vista Animal Hospital since 2003, when we first moved to the neighborhood. They came highly recommended by good friends of ours. We started with my husband's two cats. When they passed away, and we rescued dogs, we continued using them. The staff is wonderful, and very polite. They always take time to visit with our dogs, and know everything there is to know about each one. They understand the personalities, and are good about how the dogs are handled going between rooms and such. We've seen quite a few doctors come through, which can be a little scary, but every one of them has been very professional and helpful. Every new doctor has taken the time to review the dogs' records, and get to know the dogs. They never try to "sell" a service, but instead provide details for all of the options for discussion. Luckily one of the doctors has an older dog, so many of the treatments she recommends are ones that she has also tried. When I told her I was getting our older dog acupuncture, she asked me to let her know how it went so she could add that to her list as well. I always recommend Val Vista Animal to my friends.

[us [US My family moved here Summer of 2013. We had just traveled for 3 days in a truck and my poor "elder" Siamese didn't have the wonderful adventure I had planned. Once we were in our house we went directly over to Val Vista to have him checked out. They were amazing! Every single person from the person who took our first phone call to the Doctors, to the people who helped us out to our car. Never once were we disappointed. Even when we ended up with Giardia with count 'em 5 cats... They totally stood by us and helped us through each step! They are a fabulous place to take your animal family :D

After having a very bad experience at a different vet the day before, we made an appointment at Val Vista Animal Hospital to have our new kitten checked out. The staff here is nothing short of AMAZING. We were greeted warmly and taken to a room immediately. They were just as great with our young son who was with us as they were with our kitten. We very recently moved to the area and needed a new vet for our pets so we are very happy to have found this one. We will not go anywhere else. Moved here from AL with my dog Wilma and they've treated her great! Added Wilbur to the fur-family and he was diagnosed with Parvo. Val Vista AH did such an amazing job helping me. They saved me money before having to take him to the emergency vet and kept tabs on him to make sure he was ok. They've helped with kidney conditions, simple nail trims, undiagnosed allergies, come up with treatment plans, helped with diet. And not just peddle you the food they sell, but explain what to look for online. They actually care about my pups and that is evident in their care.

I moved to Phoenix 2 years ago with two boxers, one of which had Addison's disease and had to have monthly injections to keep him alive. From day one, the staff took care of my babies. They saved me a lot of money each month by allowing me to purchase the meds my dog needed from an outside pharmacy. My little girl boxer became ill with cancer and the doctors were wonderful in treating her and trying to extend her life. March of this year our male took a turn for the worst and our only choice was to put him down as he was suffering. Then six days later we had to put our little girl down as she also took a turn for the worse without her brother being there. The doctors and staff were wonderful to us. I have never had to put an animal down and was unsure of what to expect. The staff treated our babies like they were their own and they were able to rest in peace with dignity and surrounded by their family and a staff that truly cares. You can imagine how devastated we were to lose both our babies in such a short time. The staff not only sent us sympathy cards but they also made us wonderful cards with each of our pups foot prints on it and also sent us a wonderful house plant. Well in May we one of my cats took a turn for the worst and the staff once again was amazing with him. Unfortunately, we had to put him down as well, and once again the amazing staff sent us his foot print. My husband and I really appreciated how candid Dr. Longoni was with us when it came to the reality of our pets health. He was up front with us about our choice to have to put each of us down and because of his candidness we were able to make the right decision for our three babies. Kristin at the front desk is a "Rock Star", she truly loves each and every pet that comes through her doors. I know that Val Vista is a little bit pricer than other places but to our family the level of care and love that our babies receive is worth every penny of what we pay. As long as we live in Arizona, our animals will be treated at Val Vista Animal Hospital.

Not too impressed. Took pet in for exam because of tumor. Went to 2nd vet for second opinion. Called back here to schedule surgery. They set an apointment for blood work and then hit us with 500 extra dollars worth of exams that they said were needed based on a diagnoses that took less than 3 minutes. The other vet called BS on this amd said none of those symptoms were present 3 days prior. Not trustworthy in my opinion

Hands down the most caring and professional vet office I have been to. Three years ago my nearly 14 year-old German Shepard could no longer move. It was time to let him go. When I arrived there were blankets on the floor of the exam room for him to lay on. The staff gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye. They were supportive and kind. A few days later a condolence card signed by all the staff arrived in the mail. The vets and staff are not just doing a job...they care about animals and people. Fast forward to present day. I got a new pup in February. The staff adore her. Dr. Little always takes time to answer my questions and explain information citing the latest research. It is so comforting to know my pup is in good, caring, knowledgeable hands!

My cat (who is 11 has had lots of issues over the years with allergies and on and off issues with her eyes. Dr. Longoni is, by far, the best vet I've ever taken my cat. No other vet has been able to diagnose her issues and help solve them. It had almost gotten to a point where my cat was so miserable, I thought there was no way to relieve her pain. Dr. Longoni spent a lot of time with me and was very gentle with my cat. Not only is Dr. Longoni an amazing vet, the staff is very friendly and professional. They are always willing to help out in any way that they can.

Went in there on a Tuesday night. Had an apt. for 7:30. They sat me in the waiting room for over an hour and then they charged me $113 for an ear infection. This is 3x as much as any other vet in phoenix would charge. This place is over-priced, under-staffed, and a waste of time.

Every person we encountered in this practice treated us with so much care and compassion. Our 17 year old cat had to be put down and it was the hardest decision for my husband and I to make, but everyone from the girls at the front desk to the techs who checked on us and the doctor who administered the medication, we could feel their love for our pet and the sadness that this is where we were at. I will give my recommendation to anyone who has pets to visit this practice. They made an extremely difficult moment easier to absorb and accept. For that I will be forever grateful.

My small senior dog is feeling so much better today because of the care he received at Val Vista Animal Hospital. They were able to quickly diagnose his illness and immediately relieved his pain and discomfort. And I am truly so so grateful. Dr. Newkirk and the vet techs were super kind and caring. We brought our 2 year old Doberman in for an intestinal blockage. They charged $185 for digital scans and $142 for blood screen. They never even showed us the blood screen until I asked. They asked to cut her open several times at 2pm even though they closed at 6. We took her home, against their advice, and she was fine by 11am. We almost spent $2,500 to have it surgically removed or put her down because she eats rocks. We were told we were saying goodbye in a day or two. So glad we left with her and will never return to this vet office.

Very caring people here. A special note about Alyssa (tech). We had to put Fitz to sleep yesterday and she loved our Fitz as much as we do! She was very upset along with the rest of us. They were good, now just trying to pay for the new facility. I've been going to the office for 4 years with two laberdoodles. The first three years were amazing. There was a caring and listening staff and doctors. They really helped answer questions and care for our pets. Now, you are met in a room by a staff who gives you a clipboard with recommendations BEFORE they have seen your pet, talked to you or examined your pet. They ask common questions that have been documented in the past, indicating they are unprepared to make recommendations. This has happened twice in the past year. The first time the recommendation was over $400 when all I needed was a $110 treatment for antibiotics (still an asinine price) and the other was today with a $300+ suggestion when all I needed, cost $150 which I gladly paid today. The front office staff is helpful and professional, but the rest has turned into a marketing program. Very disappointing but best of luck, I'm sure many will enjoy this approach.

I have been going to Val Vista Animal Hospital for 5 years. Dr. Little was with me through the tough puppy years when my dog had lots of issues and she celebrates with me now when we only have to go in once a year for his check up. Dr. Little is the best vet I have ever worked with. She listens. She is comprehensive. She never suggests doing unnecessary procedures so I know if she recommends something it really is important. And I feel like she really cares about my dog and his well being. The staff is also really great. They greet you as soon as you walk through the door. They manage their scheduling really well so that I almost always get shown back to a room right away. The techs seem really knowledgeable and they're definitely friendly. I love that some of them, like Alissa, have been there for a long time so there's consistency. They have had a lot of turnover over the years in the other vets. That would be my only complaint. Thank goodness for Dr. Little! As long as she is there I will continue to bring my pets to Val Vista Animal hospital

On Dec 30th, 2016 at approx. 5:30pm, I brought my dog Luna (who had a history of violence) in to be euthanized. It was a horrible day before we arrived… and was made worse when Dr. Jessica Pederson refused to do the service because Luna was While her decision angered & saddened me, it’s obvious she has a big heart and loves animals. Do I think she’s probably a good person and Vet… yes. Am I destroyed inside and angry about the result of her unprofessional decision? Absolutely. Marty was the technician who was present with us as well. On Jan 3rd, 2017, Luna had to be put down. The emptiness and sadness I’m experiencing are immeasurable. The repeated visuals & flashbacks of the event are just horrible. I promise you, the euthanasia environment that we asked for… and what Dr. Pederson denied us of… was 100 times better than what occurred yesterday morning. This could have all been prevented when we came into Val Vista Animal Hospital for our scheduled appointment if the euthanasia had been completed by Dr. Pederson. Both Luna and our family suffered MORE because of Dr. Pederson's decision.

I have been taking my dog to Val Vista Animal Hospital for 3 years. I am very happy with the staff and the doctors there. The waiting room & exam rooms are very clean & comfortable. Front desk staff are very courteous. The care my dog recieves is excellent! He loves going there and going in the back with the staff. He is never afraid, just happy to see everyone. That says a lot to me. Recently, he had injured his paw. When we had an appointment for cold laser therapy Dr Longoni always took the time to look at him & come out and update me. He helped me order a brace for him to progress out of his splint. Dr Longoni is budget conscious while still giving the animal the best of care. He has taken care of my other dog prior to this one and was the same way. He goes above & beyond & treats your pet as if it were his own. He is excellent with physical therapy and helping to teach you what you can do at home to help your dog heal faster & build strength. That makes it nice because you can cut down on some visits & help your pet at home. The techs are all very well trained. They are great with showing you how to do home treatments or care. My dogs don't like to leave there to go home! I feel confident in sending clients there knowing that they will recieve the best care too. I enjoy looking at all the photos they post of their clients! They are so involved with your pet, you are not just a number in this clinic!

Last year, my chihuahua was attacked by an off-leash pit bull, and was severely injured. We went to Val Vista Animal Hospital for follow-up care. Dr. Longoni was thorough, personable, and compassionate. He guided us through a tough time, and I have no doubt that his care was responsible for her survival. The staff is also great - really kind and upbeat. We have continued taking our dog to Val Vista Animal Hospital, and have total confidence that she is in good hands.

I've used Val Vista Animal Hospital for both my own pets as an adult and as a teen with my family's dogs. Several years ago my family's Labrador had to have her leg amputated up to the hip. They did a clean, beautiful job- she healed with no complications, and quickly adjusted to life as a three legged dog! (She even chased down our chickens!) I also took my cat there for the majority of his life, always impressed with the gentleness and care they showed him. When my Boxer was hit by a car and passed away, I took him there to be cremated... the vet remembered him personally from our previous visits, and I could see they were (almost) as devastated as I was. It was very comforting to know he was in care of people who had known and cared about him. They (the vets, reception, and vet techs) are always kind, gentle with your pet, efficient, and willing to answer questions and give all the information you need. Its a very relaxed environment, which I liked. The vets don't rush or make you feel hurried- they talk to you and thoroughly explain what they're recommending and why. They also give you all the info you need on costs, different shot packages, etc. But they don't push procedures down your throat, or tell you something is an emergency unless it is! All in all, I recommend Val Vista Animal Hospital to my friends, I would take any future animals to this vet, and I have always had a positive experience!

Amazing compassion from each person on staff including all receptionists, assistants and doctor. I brought my little bottle baby kitten in to see if they could save her. They tried their best, but unfortunately her little body could not recover from the stress of someone taking her from her mom so, so soon. One of the sweet assistants held her the whole time she was being treated, and we all cried as she left our stinky world for heaven. If you have your pets best interest at heart I would NOT recommend you take them here because this veterinarian certainly does not. I used to take my puppy here for her yearly vaccines so when my mother called me this morning saying her dog needed emergency surgery after being diagnosed with an obstructed bowel I referred her here as she lives nearby. The veterinarian she saw at Val Vista Animal Hospital originally quoted my mother $1200.00 to perform the surgery but all my mother could come up with at the moment was $1100.00 ($100.00 short of the original quote). My mother begged and pleaded with them to accept the money as a down payment since the emergency animal hospital she saw earlier that day recommended the surgery be performed right away. However, they told her that they could not accept a down payment because this was actually just a “bottom of the line” quote and that once they started the surgery, it could cost as much as $2000.00-$3000.00 depending on the severity of the obstruction. They then proceeded to tell my mother (as she was sobbing) that her dog was in very grave condition and that if she did not have the funds she just have her dog euthanized because they are a business. As a pet owner myself I was deeply saddened to hear this was how they handled the situation. Long story long, I will no longer be returning to this money hungry clinic and neither will any of my family members. Fortunately, my mother was able to find another veterinarian nearby that agreed to perform the surgery for the amount of money that was initially quoted. Just moved here from North Carolina, , called one other vet who stated it be a week before they would give me an appointment W O W ! Well Val Vista Vet the appointment the Next day .I was looking for a vet who is caring and understanding.... Well we found the right one,,, Ms. Little ( vet ) was great .The Vet tech was very knowledgeable .The young ladies at the front desk very professional , not wasting my time and the office and the Examining rooms super clean .
