Never have we ever had such an empathetic veterinarian. Dr. Jones was the sweetest Vet we’ve ever had. In our desperate time of need, she showed compassion, kindness & understanding towards our crisis with Lily: our 5 y/o Great Dane. We feared the worst when she got very sick, very fast. They took care of our baby & while she is on the mend, their compassion & loving nature as a whole facility truly made us forever fans of this particular clinic. We’ll never go anywhere else. When we brought in our sick cat, Dr. Nemeth thought of everything possible to help him and help us take care of him. She is awesome! She took my frequent phone calls and listened to all our concerns. Hi We took our beautiful little fur baby to get a routine physical exam. Our Dr. Nemeth helped us overcome any fears we may have had before. Our visit with the technicanian was great too! They came up with a plan for my little one and it really made a difference. Our dog was very itchy from allergies. The remedy made a huge change in her behavior I am so glad we did the visits this way because our dog needed to be spayed but we treated the allergies first, got those under control and when it came time for the spaying our dog did not suffer from the allergies during the healing time. That was a very smart plan. The spaying went well the staff really cares allowing me to talk to Dr. Nemeth before the procedure. The very next day they called to ask how our girl was doing. Post surgery with pain meds and sedatives since our girl is very active made the healing process easier. Thank you so much. I want to share my experience with family vet care. I adopted my puppy from the maricopa county shelter and got his first checkup here, they partner with the shelter to do the wellness check for free and the visit was great. Within a couple months my pup became very sick, this office showed a lot of compassion and care for my pup in the last month of his life, they did their best to make sure he was comfortable and worked very hard to find out what was going on with my pup. Eventually my pup did not respond to treatment and we had to put him down. Family vet care took care of this for me, we were able to put him down in a private room where they fed him yogurt before hand and even offered to make us a cement paw print. They were very sympathetic and compassionate during this hard time. About a week after our pups passing the whole office signed a card and send it to my house letting me know my family was in their thoughts. If you are looking for a vet who truly cares about pets and their owners then look no further.

The people at this clinic don't listen and overcharge for every service they provide. I originally went to this vet because my lil puppy was itchy, had dry, flaky skin, and had chewed herself up pretty bad. When the vet came into the room, she plopped down on the floor and started playing with my German Shepherd mix. Now Shepherds are known for being really bitey as puppies, and I had been working diligently the past few weeks to teach my furball that there were other ways to play than chomping the living daylights out of everything that moved. Naturally the first thing the vet did was shove her hand in my dogs mouth, and start playing the 'let's bite my hand in different places' game, which ultimately ended up setting back weeks worth of training. So that was annoying. I guess to be fair I didn't really say much. I just half-heartedly said, "We're trying to teach her not to do that." But the vet kept playing the hand-biting game throughout the rest of the appointment. After hearing "itchy-skin" and looking (very) briefly at my dog's wounds, the vet decided my puppy had puppy mites. She ordered a skin scrape to test for it. The skin scrape came back negative. The vet said that happened sometimes and that my dog probably still had mites. She prescribed a 3-month medicine, a steroid spray, and a cone. The appointment bill was over 200 dollars, even with a discount because of a scheduling mix up. I also asked for a spay quote, and was told it would be 550 DOLLARS to spay my 3 month, 30 lb dog. (I ultimately got it done 2 months later by another place that charged $100, despite my doggo then being 20 lbs heavier.) There was no change in my puppy's itching after 2 months, though there should have been if she really did have mites. I decided to finish her 3 month dosage, but also to try swapping out her food to a different meat base (chicken to lamb.) At Petco, the workers there helped me find a brand (Natural Balance) that was known for helping dogs with food allergies. We also got different treats. Fast-forward to the end of the month. The food change had not helped, the mite meds had not helped. All that seemed to help was the changing of the season, and the fish oil that made my dog's skin less dry and flaky. As the weather got nicer and things started blooming again, my pupper got itchy. I decided to bring her in again, but this time I wouldn't be able to go. My boyfriend went in my place. The very first thing the vet tried to tell him was that she had mites. Again. When he protested and said we had already treated for that, they told him that sometimes the mite medicine doesn't work?? So essentially if that's true, they admitted to prescribing a useless medication after a negative test. The vet wanted to do another skin scrape for mites, but my boyfriend refused. The vet then tried to tell him that my dog might have a food allergy. My boyfriend tried to tell her that we had switched to another brand and protein with no luck. The vet cut in insisted that we must have gotten a bad brand of dog food that wasnt really good for food allergies (though she never asked what brand it was...) My boyfriend had to argue back that yes, we did. Eventually the vet relented and gave my boyfriend an anti-itch shampoo and more steroid spray. The appointment ended up costing almost $200 again, even though they did nothing. This place overcharges for services, insists on treatments that they know might not be necessary/don't work, and they don't listen regardless of how patient and polite you might be. My boyfriend and I are both very soft-spoken and have worked in customer service, so it's not like we were belligerent or mean either. Honestly, I got more accurate information from searching my dog's symptoms in Google. I absolutely never review, but this place doesnt deserve 4.8 stars. Two stars, because they were at least nice to me while I was there.

I have two dogs, Dax and Ben, who are a handful together at the vet. They are so excited every time for the love and attention these guys get from the staff and Dr. Simms, I never have to drag them. At one point my dogs traded kennel cough to each other, then suffered together at the same time! Dr. Simms and the staff are always so patient and knowledgeable, they were able to kick it with the antibiotics prescribed. I'm always in and out in about thirty minutes with my boys, and weekend appointments are a life-saver. I wouldn't dream of taking them away from Dr. Simms.

I've been bringing my dogs to Family VetCare (various locations) for about 8 years now as I was referred to them by AAWL. Sadly, I had to bring my dog (Payton) in for an emergency as he suddenly wasn't able to walk normally with his hind legs. Dr. Jones was great in interacting with him as he tends to be a nervous dog, and explained all our options while being mindful that surgery is financially not an option for everyone trying to take care of their pups. Unfortunately, Payton took a quick turn for the worse and was put down. While it was a horrific experience having to do that, I appreciated the staff's compassion, consideration and professionalism. They took things into consideration that I hadn't thought of, such as having a separate entrance, room ready, and taking care of finances ahead of time. Overall, Dr. Jones is great at what she does. The only negative thing I'd have to say about my recent experience is when we showed up for the initial emergency, the front desk staff almost sent us away. She explained that they don't take walk ins and were already treating an urgent case. I was surprised by that given I've taken him to Family VetCare since he was a puppy. It seemed like when the front desk staff noticed I was crying and looked over the counter to see Payton not being able to walk normally that it changed her sense of urgency.

Best veterinary care office we have been to in awhile! Our little dog has always had challenges and yesterday had a big one with her digestive system. Dr. Patrick spent a small amount of time evaluating her and came back with a care plan in moments. Our little dog still feels awful but you can tell she is recovering fast and her treatment plan was effective, and well considered by Dr. Patrick. I cant tell you how desperate you feel when something serious happens and Family VetCare completely put us at ease, diagnosed her quickly, considered her comfort as well as ours and left us feeling we now have her new doctor!! Its always expensive but, for the first time in a long time we never felt like we were being charged for anything that wasn't absolutely warranted. How often can you say that!! Thank you Dr. Patrick you really are our hero!! **Updated, I just wanted to add on to this review that our little dog lost her long fight with meningitis and we had that terrible day when we had to say goodbye. Dr. Patrick was there for us and made sure our loved one had the best care she could give her and we really truly in our hearts knew the staff was thinking about us through the whole thing. A week or so later we got a card in the mail from everybody and I can't tell you how much all the personal messages meant!! We are very thankful we have Family VetCare in our lives!! Dr Patrick, you are forever our HERO!! Its people like you who understand how much they mean to people that makes the world of difference!!

We have been taking our beloved dog Daisy to Family Vet Care for the last 4 years and have had only wonderful experiences. They made us feel like family every time we needed to bring Daisy for a check up or appointment. This was so important to us because when we discovered that Daisy who's was 13 had become extremely ill over night and was unresponsive to our voices we rushed her to Family Vet Care and knew they would care for her. They got us back to the exam room right away and Dr Patrick was there waiting to see Daisy. Even though during the visit we made the decision because her condition had gotten so bad to put her down, Dr Patrick along with the Tech were compassionate and really took care of me as I had to say goodbye. I feel that Dr.Patrick listens to my concerns and explains my options after test results in a manner that is easily understood, this practice is loving and careing of the whole family and will be a great place for Finnegan to grow up with.

Between my parents and I, we have 9 pets. And we all love love love family vetcare of Chandler. So much so that even after both my parents and I moved to central Phoenix, we both still drive the 30 min to get there. I've honestly never liked my vets very much but Dr. Wodiske is the BEST vet I've ever met! Both he and the whole team at family vetcare are always so nice to my pets and make them feel welcome. They are also extremely knowledgeable and were able to get to the bottom of two of my dogs' mystery ailments when other vets had pretty much shrugged their shoulders and given up trying to figure out what was wrong. They are also extremely caring and sweet there. My dogs actually get excited to go to the vet! About two years ago when my dog Abby had heart worm and also was dealing with a tooth extraction because she fractured her canine, she was in the vet's office pretty much every week. Everyone would always recognize her and get so happy to see her and make her feel comfortable and happy, even though the treatments were so painful. I'm definitely an overprotective pet parent and I truly feel comfortable with my pets in their care. Thank you family vetcare of chandler for helping me take tip-top care of my pets!

I’ve been using this Vet for 20 years, the location in Ahwatukee. I’ve taken all my pets here dogs and cats. Everyone is so caring. LaRue at the front desk is so kind and sweet, always very helpful! All the docs I’ve seen through the years are wonderful. I started with Dr Olsen who was wonderful but no longer there. Sad to see him go but I now see Dr Sarah Derksen and Dr Carla Mott who are just as wonderful! Both my dogs have had issues with bladder stones and have had to have surgery and care by both Dr Derksen and Dr Mott. They have been amazing and I’m so grateful for their care! Dr Derksen has helped my dog with pain management as well. He has a hx of traumatic injuries and she has been able to keep his chronic pain to his leg and back under good control so he can stay active. In addition, although it’s never easy to say goodbye to a pet this office has always been very compassionate and supportive with my past pets that had to be put to sleep. Everyone here has big hearts, so much empathy and support. They really care about your furry family. ❤️

I honestly can't say enough good things about this clinic! The staff here is incredible. Everyone was very friendly and professional with both me and my cat. They quickly and thoroughly addressed his breathing issues and took the time to explained what they were doing, why they thought this was the best idea, and gave me an accurate estimate of the procedures. Even though my cat was squirmy through the procedure, they were patient and kind the entire time, which made the ordeal less stressful. In addition to an awesome staff, I really loved their facilities. On-site ultrasound and x-ray machines made it easy for Dr. Evans to efficiently treat my cat within a couple hours. Other vets I've visited haven't had this equipment, and have had to refer me to other locations, which means more stressful car rides for my cat, more time away from work, and more money spent on treatment. All in all, I had an amazing experience!

Our dog underwent a minor surgery and the vet personally called me herself several times that first week to see how he was doing. I took my senior dog to family vet care of Chandler and while going there I would have recommended it. My dog every six months would get a senior wellness exam including blood work. I paid this additional money and took the time to take my dog to these senior exams thinking that it was preventative care. I would always be told what great health my dog was in. Two weeks ago when I got home from work my dog wasn't getting up to greet me. I instantly called Family Vet Care of Chandler to ask for advice. I was told that they were under staffed and to drive to Gilbert (during rush hour) to go to the emergency clinic there or to come in the next day. I asked how to tell if it's an emergency and was given no guidance and asked no questions to help me determine what to do. However my gut told me she needed to be seen right away so we took her to Gilbert. At Gilbert they quickly diagnosed her as bleeding internally due to her gum color being light. I don't understand why my vet didn't ask me about her gum color or any questions. She had cancer growths as big as 15 cm on her organs. My dog had to be put down that evening. She was a ten year old greater swiss mountain dog. I never received any follow-up phone call or sympathy card from Family Vet Care. After going through this experience I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I spent money on what I thought was preventative care which feels like a scam now. It seems like this business only cares about making money and not actually about giving your beloved pet a long and healthy life.

We started using Family Vetcare almost 20 years ago when we had a cat. I honestly only chose them because their location was convenient, but our family has been treated very well by them. We have now returned after a 2-3 year pet-free time with our newly adopted dog. Our old, beloved little dog took a sudden turn for the worse on a Saturday morning. After calling many places and explaining the situation they all said we could walk-in but would have to wait a couple of hours to be seen as they were booked. We called Family VetCare of Chandler and while they were also booked they said they would see him as soon as possible. We brought him in and they were waiting for us, knew his name and took us right into a room. Everyone was compassionate, caring and thorough. Because of his condition we could only make him slightly more comfortable with many procedures that they explained thoroughly but he would never get better or euthanize. They were very patient while we cried and discussed. They were very compassionate with our very upset 7 year old who waited in the lobby while he was sent to heaven. He passed so peacefully. We miss and love our little guy, but we are so very grateful with their tender care during a very sad experience for our family.

I got my first puppy about a month ago, and didnt really know what to do. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Wodiske and took my little guy in for his first check up. The staff was awesome and friendly and I could tell they truly cared about us. Dr. Wodiske was GREAT! He took so much time to educate me about caring for my puppy, from potty and crate training to feeding etc. I am so happy I chose Family VetCare to CARE for my puppy and help show me the ropes of puppy care. I would highly recommend them to anybody!

Our family cat suddenly became ill, and I was able to get him in to be seen on a Saturday with virtually no notice. First time here, so I appreciate that even more. They were able to run tests and bloodwork in house, and got us the results while we waited. We unfortunately had to put our cat down, and the staff was very kind and went out of their way to make both our pet and us comfortable. With each step they presented all our options, both for treatment and pricing, and were able to explain it in laymen's terms which is more important than you realize when your head is already clouded by the situation. I also equate "emergency care" with an inflated price tag, and thankfully that was not the case here, at least not for these specific services. For emergency vet service, I really could not have asked for more, and definitely recommend them.

I will say the staff was really friendly. However I felt they are very money hungry! I went in because my dog had an ear infection. They wanted to charge $30-$40 to clean her ears. I asked what this process consisted of & they said they would give her the first dose of her ear cleanser. I said, "You want to charge that much to insert ear drops that I can do at home and have to do at home since this is what your prescribing? They said they could take it off and not charge me. After seeing the bill for $200 for a diagnosis of ear infection and medicine. I told them I needed to do whatever to help save. They gave me 50% as a first time customer and removed the ear cleanser when asking. I simply felt they were trying to see how much they could charge me without complaint. They then tried to call me 2 weeks later to get my dog back in. I explained she is doing great- No head shaking or ear itching. They said it was "procedure to do a check-up and the doctor wants her to come in". Again, I felt they were trying to get me back in to make more money. We've had a really good experience, thus far, with this vet clinic. We have a new puppy and we completed the entirity of the puppy shots with them (4 round series). Our main vet, Dr. Samantha Jones, is incredibly well educated and helpful with all of the questions and fears we've had with puppy development, etc. The entire front office staff have always been friendly. The Office Manager is very present and involved. Overall, the office is run incredibly well. They do not push sales or procedures on you. Also, they're very honest about what they do and don't know. They really make an effort. Our vet always includes personal notes that summarize our visit. Also, they went over all of the cost breakdowns before every visit. I've never felt like I was being rushed out of the office or that I asked too many questions. They always made it a priority that we left feeling confident. It's been hard to find a vet that I trust. I highly recommend them.

Animal hospital is a bad joke. They are a dog and cat veterinarian. Don’t attempt to bring anything that isn’t one of these in here. It’s misleading and can lead to a waste of time in an emergency.

I had my first visit at Family VetCare today and was so blown away with how wonderful the staff was! I was wrangling two kitties through the front door who were less than thrilled with a trip to the vet. The ladies helped me into a room right away to keep Nibs and Bean comfortable (and away from the doggies!). Dr. Evans was great and helped put my mind to ease with any questions I had. The staff is all SO sweet and friendly! Nibs and Bean even went home with a few new little toys that they're already enjoying from the comfort of their cat tower :) Thank you guys so much for all that you do!

Professional, knowledgeable, caring, and friendly vets & staff who care about my pet well-being. Boarded my rottweiler for 3 weeks (great price) and had them treated my dog for ear infection. I had a peace of mind while my dog was boarded there. My dog is doing well with the ear infection treatment. Thanks so much for the care of my pet.

any way we can give zero stars?? This place is joke, this is from someone who has many dogs, for so many years, we have been moving so many times, and finding bad and good doctors for our babies; but never one like this place. All we ever wanted was to get a lepto vaccine for a 2 little frenchtons, and they TOLD ME ON THE PHONES BEFORE that the first visit would be a consultation with the vet, and 2 weeks later the booster would only require a tech visit. We got there today to get the booster done and they want to charge us the consultation/examination for each dog again??? Like hello???? I searched prices with our old vet and this (that was suppose to be the new one) and both said the booster visit was just a quick tech visit. DOCTOR REFUSED TO SHOW UP IN THE ROOM BECAUSE I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY, tech vet had the courage to say SHE IS NOT GOING TO TALK TO YOU BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY hahahaha did not even gave her face to explain herself with the miscommunication given by them, and the manager did not talk to me on phones because manager was gone. Tech was extremely fake and rude, and said she was going to call the police on me, it is not about $80 more or less, is about doing what was told to your patients/clients; now my dogs are not fully protect from lepto AND I WILL HAPPILY DRIVE 2 hours out to reach our old vet clinic. DR PATRICK you are a joke and not professional at all with your own patients, and also coward, and not showing up to help with the situation BECAUSE I REFUSED TO PAY 2 EXAMINATIONS FOR 2 DOGS IN LESS THEN A 2 WEEK PERIOD!!!!

By far this is the best staff and care my dogs have ever received! The staff is so welcoming, encouraging and loving and the gentleness of everyone is SO appreciated! We’ve dealt with vets that don’t really care about the welfare of our fur babies and it’s the opposite here! If you need to see a doctor that is gentle and understanding see Dr. Nemeth, she’s the best!!

I have been a long standing devoted customer with family vetcare for over 20 years! I just love the staff and especially the veterinarians. The veterinarian that I request is Dr. Mott. Dr. Mott has my veterinarian for my cats over the years for routine visits and not so good visits. There have been visits when I have to send my loving, caring, very sick babies to pet heaven. I deeply appreciate when the Family vetcare send me a wonderful thoughtful condolence card. To me, this is a very personal touch that I received from the Family vetcare clinic. I always and will continue to highly recommended Family vetcare to all my friends and whoever else who ask for a veterinarian! Keep up the Exception job.
