EXCELLENT SERVICES! Affordable over the rest- and excellent with Caleb a
Love them
As a veterinarian myself, I have yet to come upon such caring and compassionate staff and doctors! Buena Pet Clinic saw my 2 year old cat on extremely short notice and got us in within an hour after I called. Dr. Nightengale and Jennifer (CVT) listened and communicated so well about the diagnosis and prognosis of my cat. I can't recommend a better clinic!
They often have long waits, the new vets they have know less than I do reading up on the dog's conditions and they refused to see my dog (an established patient) when she hurt her leg half an hour before they closed on a Friday. They told me to give her a baby aspirin and wait until Monday while she was screaming in pain. They don't have any arrangement with an emergency vet, I had to find one on my own even while they were still in the office. I can't believe their callous disregard for pets' health and well being. I'll be removing all the dogs from this practice immediately.
Older doctors with years of experience able to do complex surgeries as needed. Always works with owners for the best outcome.
Buena always has wonderful staff who care about the animals and not their pockets. First vet office that I have absolutely loved.
Dr. Karnes and his staff have taken wonderful care of Jackson. He was pretty sick with liver & gallbladder issues and he took plenty of time with me and my dog to thoroughly check and evaluate him on all levels. He even did a diagnostic X-ray free of charge. He really goes above and beyond and truly cares about his patients. I'm always able to get an appointment and Dr. Karnes calls me personally with lab results or to answer any questions I have about the care of my dog.
Good staff. Appointment only.
Took us a while to find a great Vet when we moved to Tucson, but we have with Buena Vista! Love it and recommend highly!
Nice patient with animals very through!
What a lovely bunch of people! Rare these days! Dr. Nightingale is wonderful... Spends time with you, and gives you all the information you'll need. His office staff are all wonderful as well.
The people seems very caring when we took our beloved Bella unfortunately she cross the rainbow
Very kind and caring staff. We have had all of our dogs and cats go there for years. Taking care of them, and helping us when it's time to say goodbye. I highly recommend them!!!
Love the vets and assistants. Assistant Mie is so sweet and friendly as well as the others. Great vet care.
I have visited Buena Pet Clinic about 15 times for routine shots, infections, check-ups, and surgery. They offer a wide range of appointment availability and I'm always able to make one at my desired time. I spend at most 5 minutes in the waiting area. I deducted one star from the overall rating because of discrepancy among the doctors in regard to the timeline of required shots and varying opinions about treatment. That being said, I prefer Dr. Halbach but I haven't been seen by Dr. Nightengale. I trust their referrals since I was recommended to a dermatologist with whom I had a good experience. Overall, I find the office staff, technicians, and doctors to be friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Although I haven't been to another clinic to make a comparison, I recommend Buena Pet Clinic.
Have been using them for years, great place.
Our foster has had great care here!
This is the most horrible and heartless pet clinic I have ever seen or dealt with in my life. My little dog had a procedure done, and I was not told in person nor in writing what I needed to do to prevent him from reopening his stitches, which is exactly what he did. Because no one told me that I needed to purchase a cone collar for him not to be able to get at the incision site, when we got home, the first thing he did in one swipe with his claws, he popped two of the five stitches. There was blood everywhere. I jumped in the car to take him back to the clinic. He was bleeding so badly that I just decided to stop to the first veterinarian office that I saw. I later found out that his first procedure was not done properly at all. They didn't even cut his hair properly at the incision site. He was not given any pain medication or antibiotics. I was devastated to see my little baby in so much pain. Then today I called several different times, did not get the person I needed to speak to, only after I threatened to come there. Then I was told it was my fault because I did not follow directions and they did recommend me to buy a cone collar, which was a lie. Nowhere in the paperwork that they sent me home with does it say anything about purchasing a cone collar. The funny thing is they said that it's their intent to down the pricing, when the second veterinarian did more work, gave me pain medication, antibiotics, and the cone collar, and many more things. it turns out it was less expensive then what Buena clinic charged me. But it has nothing to do with the money, but the quality of the care of my dog. My dog is like one of my children, and any pet owner will tell you the same thing. Buena Pet Clinic is no buena to me!
Had to put my kitty down. They were very sweet and they really care! They do not gouge your wallet but are top notch!!
I have 3 English bulldogs, one with allergies, a beagle mix and an 11 year old doxie. Dr hallenbach and staff are AMAZING. I had been looking for a good bet that used common sense with my bulldogs instead of running the monetary gambit every time we came in for my dog with allergies. They are friendly, and flexible. They have on numerous occasions now gotten us in when they were booked solid and even let me return once when I had forgotten my wallet. They are very understanding and I would recommend them over any other vet that we have seen in Tucson. Thank you to everyone at Buena Pet Clinic. Anthony Laguna.
Good doctors @ reasonable prices. The practice seems busy, but I got my dogs in quickly.
I have two papillions..when one got stung by a bee her face swelled up like a balloon! I called Buena Pet Clinic just before closing time and they said they would wait for me to bring her in. They were more than willing to out of their way to make sure my dog was OK. Thank you for all you do for our precious pets!
"Buena" is an understatement for this facility and its staff. My dog was hit by a car and they worked through their lunch to perform surgery. With open hands they took her in and treated her like a dog of her own. Best place in Tucson hands down! Thank you so much for saving my dog's life.
Great staff and vets, if you have an emergency they will get you in as soon as possible.
Great vets! Going on 7 yrs.
The staff are great and fair prices
They are always amazing with my pets and when I couldn't afford all of my pets meds and surgery that was greatly needed they didnt even bat an eye at helping us with it anyway and making something we could afford, so because of them my Dog Odin didnt have to be put to sleep.
Excellent Vets & Techs
Always great taking care of our little fellow. Reasonable prices. We were referred here by a friend and we are happy that we found Buena Pet Clinic.
Been taking our dogs (8) there for 13 years. They have the best Vets and staff and you can even go on a credit plan if need too.
The best doctors and staff and not outrageously expensive.
We have going here since 1980. We would never leave them for another vet.
Very reasonable and fair prices. Have always gotten us in when we needed help with our dogs
Reasonable prices and never make you feel like you have to purchase extra stuff.
Great place! After we took our sick dog to another vet and only got sold everything but what he needed to get well, we took him here because he was not getting better. They didn't try and sell us a bunch of junk and everybody was incredibly professional. Figured out what was the problem and had our dog back up on his feet and acting himself in just a couple days. This vet knows what they're doing! You can see how much everyone there loves animals. Best vet in town.
I was recommended to this vet clinic by several people on base. They are very knowledgeable, quick, and treat you like family. Today I called concerned about my 8 week old puppy and they fit me into their very busy schedule with no problems. I would definitely recommend this vet to anyone in the Tucson area. They even give a military discount. Thank you Buena for being a great vet clinic!
Buena Pet has done a great job for our canine family members over the years.
My 6 year old boxer just had a mast cell tumor removed from his eyelid and diagnosed by Dr. Halbach at Buena. I was referred to an oncologist who wasn't much help so I called Buena and asked to speak to Dr. Halbach again to ask some questions. Dr. Halbach was busy at the time but returned my call first thing the following morning. He immediately referred me to another clinic and the receptionists at Buena even helped to set-up my appointment with the new oncologist the following day. After seeing the new oncologist, Dr. Halbach personally called me to ensure that I was happy with the new options that were provided to me. I have never received such personalized care. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Halbach and the staff and Buena pet clinic. They helped to save my boxer's eye and I will be sure to recommend them to all other pet owners I know!
Very inconsiderate when it comes time to put pets down. Very noisy room and we were left waiting for our dog’s final shot for over 10 minutes. When I accompanied a friend to a pet clinic in Flagstaff, they put her cat down very humanely with an arm band and shot. This place offered a completely different experience. Not comfortable, and not accommodating to the feelings of people. Would not recommend for the place to put your pet down. Very disappointed.
Genuine TLC!
Very professional. Knowledgeable doctors. Accomodating to the needs of the pet owner and animal.
An absolute disaster of a veterinary facility. At Dr. Hulbocks recommendation I took my Australian terrier in to have his teeth cleaned. When I got Beau out I found out they had pulled 12 of my dogs teeth. I was livid. The explanation was that they were loose. B,S. They pulled all those teeth because they charge $25 dollars for each one. $300 dollars on top of the $300 bill for cleaning. In my opinion this was fraud. I have been going to this veterinary facility for more then 10 years. To have them take advantage of my poor little dog like this is unconscionable. Do not use these veterinarians.
Wonderful vets and staff. Very short wait and very fair price for procedures.
I absolutely love this place!! Its very clean and the staff is awesome!! Ive taken 2 of my 4 dogs here and ive had exceptional service every time!! Thanks buena pet clinic for all your hard work and dedication!!
Very nice vet. I bring my own puppy loves there. Amazing staff and nice place.
Freindly and professional. Took greay care of my little doggo. 10 of 10. Would recommend.
It was my first time at this clinic because i had to lay my pet to rest and it was already emotional but i had to call to see if i could get the remains back and to ck how much it was going to be......they gave me a price and a time to come in and wen all was said and done i got home and found that they changed the price. it was $30 dollars more and u might say i am being petty but my friend was paying for it and i had already told her the price they gave me beforehand so not only did it make me out to be a lier but doing something like that is just unethical to say the least. I called to speak to the manager stacy and she just said "i am sorry there is just nothing I can do i have already wrote off all i can" well what she wrote off wasn't suppose to be charged anyway i was told so i'm not sure what this clinic is trying to pull but i will defiantly not be using this clinic in fear the pricing after i leave will be charged to my acct without being told. i will say this......the doctor was terrific in the room wen i had to put my pet down.....perfessional and caring so it's a shame that the staff is ruining it for him and the other doctors there. As i sat here and read all of the reviews (which i should of done ahead of time) i see that over and over again that this kind of adding charges has happened in the past so i would advise to read all of the reviews so u may make a informed decision before using this clinic. Too bad for the doctors there and whomever owns it should look this situation over and see what the problem is. SAD
Didn't call me when dog's labs very bad and never caught on dog had pancreatitis so it turned into a chronic problem. Misplaced my other dogs malignant biopsy for a month then out of nowhere called to tell me to make a stat oncology appt because he has cancer! Needless to say I don't take my dogs there anymore.
My parents took their dogs there for about 20 years. I've been taking mine for 12. They have gone above and beyond for all of our pups. The doctors are excellent as is the rest of the entire staff. I trust them completely with my dogs, whom I love very much.
Great vets, always nice
This place has gone down the hill and it just isn't the same anymore as it used to be. They will add charges to your bill and if you don't pay attention or don't ask what it's for....they will get away with it. They did it to me twice and i caught it, they apologized and corrected it but still not an excuse! My cat had to stay there overnight twice and BOTH times he came home with an eye infection...... Last time I was picking my cat up from there, the vet assistant/ tech, not sure which one she is, brought him back with urine and feces on his hind legs and dirty litter all over his belly and legs, my cat smelled so badly like poop Needles to say that I got very upset and brought it to her attention and not only did she NOT bother to apologize she was annoyed and mad. Dr. Nightengale came in and apologized for her behavior and took my cat back and cleaned him up. Sure enough, my cat got an eye infection, they charged for cannel and "ward"..... services and yet allowed my cat to lay in his feces and urine! I called and let them know, so Dr. Nightengale told me to bring my cat in so he could treat the eye and he didn't charge me for the office visit but they charged me for the antibiotics that I had to buy to treat the eye infection that occurred while in their care..... I don't feel comfortable taking my cat to there office anymore since this last incident.
Great vet, wonderful staff.
Amazing staff... puppy gets treated well everytime!
Buena pet clinic is the best veterinary care in Tucson, they saved my Frenchie that is 6 weeks pregnant who got bit by a rattlesnake. Dr. Nightengale and the staff are always friendly knowledgeable and caring
A nice clinic with a friendly and caring staff. Needed to get my dog in and they were able to accommodate. They seem to offer all services you would expect from a vet, on site. This is my new vet.
Been taking my dogs and cats there for over 20 years. The staff is friendly and caring, the Drs are great, fair prices. My pets are treated excellent and the prices are good. My dog doesn't freak out when going there, and they don't rush me out.
My regular vet was out on vacation when I had an emergency with my pup, and her staff recommend Buena. I'm so glad they did as they were able to fit me in last minute and the staff were great. I would highly recommend Buena Pet Clinic.
This place is the best. Front desk is very professional the technicians with the veterinarian are there any good and really love what they do. If that's our exceptionally good
Very friendly staff and over the phone help
Dental Surgery on our Chihuahua. Everything went well. Doc answers all questions honestly.
I myself have been a veterinary technician and know how a veterinary hospital/clinic should run. This clinic is NOT run well! The receptionists up front were too busy talking and didn't see me come in and sign in. I waited an extra 25 minutes after my appointment to be called back. When I called originally to schedule an appointment for vaccines, they told me my dog was up to date. However, when I was checking out, I noticed he was way overdue on a vaccine. The technician couldn't get my dogs heart rate or respiration rate because he was "squirmy". She didn't even take out the stethoscope until after a few minutes trying to get the heart rate and respiration rate by watching. (Mind you, my dog was panting). What a joke! Dr. Halback is fantastic!!! But the veterinary technicians/assistants and receptionists are horrible and need some more training! Do not recommend. There are plenty of veterinary clinics and this is not a good choice.
The doctors, nurses and office staff are very warm, compassionate and knowledgeable
Little long of a wait, but it was the afternoon. Vet helpful and good listener. Front desk personnel friendly.
There awesome. We take our 4 dogs there!
No waiting. Staff was very kind and took great care of my kitty.
Best vet in Tucson. Only breeder specialist in Tucson. Love them! Thank God or I would have to travel to phoenix for breeding specialty and OFA health guidelines X rays for hips and elbows and such... They love pets and really care. Good prices, follow up phone calls and do what is best for pet, not best for their wallet, and give you the same Dr for your pet, so they know you and your pet. They save your pets life.. without bankruptcy. Valley fever diagnosis and refer to least expensive compound pharmacy for meds in Tucson. Accurate puppy count with ultrasound and X rays. ** Saved my dames life from a post litter infection from retained placenta. These guys know what they are doing. Not open after hours and do refer to emergency hospital during that time. The southern Arizona vet and emergency is GREAT too for after hours, but you will $$$ pay for it and they didn't have a breeder specialist last I checked.
The vet took very good care of my frenchie when she had her puppies and will always go back to them.
Nice folks, really professional. Saw our dog as an emergency and treated him as though they had seen him for years.
Dr. Halback is just great he takes very good care of all my girls
Staff is friendly and attentive. I have seen all veterinarians over the past several years. My pet's veterinarian is Dr. Nightingale and he is wonderful. He is thorough and doesn't over-prescribe medications, and is great with my dog. I highly recommend Buena Pet Clinic.
Dr. Nightengale is our favorite. He is such a wonderful vet.
My cat likes them
Great service. The employees are so sweet and very helpful
Honesty and integrity is a priority here..
Great Vet. Nice staff. Always helpful.
The best vet clinic in my opinion.
Good place for your animal reasonable prices.
The staff and doctors are fantastic! Everyone cares so much about your little fur face.
Don’t go to this place almost paid 3000 dollar for a supposedly needed surgery when i only paid 140.00 DOLLARS IN Mexico. Story My great dane kept hitting her tail and would bleed everywhere and it would not heal. Before taking her to Buena Pet Clinic i had already taken her 4 times to a different vet because it kept getting worse. The vet at Buena pet clinic suggested to crop her tail down to make sure that she would not keep hitting it and bleeding. Well i decided to go ahead and do the surgery. The day before the follow up appointment my not so smart dog decided to get to her tail and open her surgery. I took her to the appointment and well she need it a second surgery which I understood because my not so smart dog had gotten to her tail and open her cut. She got the second surgery and suddenly her tail got iinfected, which I didn’t understand why since they had her tail covered and she was in antibiotics the entire time since the first surgery). The surgery that was performed on her the second did not work since her tail got extremely infected and wounds would open start bleeding with pus. All i was told that they were going to leave the tail unvover and to keep giving her antibiotics and that they were going to schedule an specialist because the vet didn’t know what to do and that it was over his capacity that was out of his hands (Great why did i bring her there). The piece where they performed the surgery rotten and fell off so she literally hd her tail fully open. Okay hoping for the best which get worse my dog lost alot of weight again was sent home smelling like she was rotting and bleeding. Then they scheduled the specialist and i go to see them. It turns out they want to do a third surgery that cost almost 3000 dollars since she needed a high risk surgery because she could loose the availability to move her back lega (which i had already paid 2000 for two surgeries and some other appointments). Well obviously i did not have the money anymore so the specialist gave me soap to take with me ( I could have bought an entire gallon of the soap on amazon with the amount that I paid there which was about 20oz of soap). I was very concerned and all they could do is give me a discount which didn’t even lower much. I askes the vet if there another solution but he shut me down and pretty much said that surgery was the best because it was quicker. I told him that i was going to look for other options. Well i ended up taking my dog to Mexico. I ONLY PAID 140.00 DOLLARS! And she is very healthy after a month (ONE MONTH). The vet in Mexico said the following things which opened my eye about this place all they care about is money. The vet in Mexico basically said that he was concerned that they cover her tail after the surgery, that they should have ruled out any infection before performing the second surgery, she was on the wrong type of antibiotics (i took the bottle that buena pet clinic gave me), and that no surgery needed to be done. They rather not do the surgery and help her heal with antibiotics, vitamins, wash and spray her with a spray to prevent infection. I only paid 140.00 dollars and that was with visits and medicine for the entire month. The reason im writing this review is because tiday i got an email from the vet from Mexico to check on my dog and see how she is doing. Just realized how this placed after all the money i spent there didn’t even call me to check to see if my dog is still alive. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. IF I WOULD HAVE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS ABOUT THE REVIEWS OF THE PEOPLE THAT WAS WITH THEM FOR YEARS AND ALL THEY DID WAS OVER CHARGED THEM I WOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN MY DOG THERE AND WOULD HAVE SAVE ME 2000 DOLLARS. My great dane is very happy dog now tail is dully heal and gain her weight again in case Buena Pet Clinic was wondering.
I love all of the doctors, nurses and office personnel! Always very kind, caring and always have your pets interest at heart!
The Doctors and Techs are amazing here. They care about your animals as much as you do. However what stops me from giving 5 starts is one or two of their front desk staff are AWFUL! You can tell it's just a job for them, they could careless which is very sad given the back staff care so much!!
1. Only gave the rescue that was paying for the exam and treatment 10% off. I don’t know if that’s standard but I felt like it was not much help. 2. The doctor (older balder one) spent all of 2 minutes looking over the senior boy from the pound we rescued from the e-list. Wasn’t interested in the sores I showed him on his elbows, didn’t look for ticks before telling me he was ok to bring home around my other dogs, and the worst is that we did an X-ray to check for tumors and I was told he had no tumors on his organs. Turns out there is a big mass on his liver. This took multiple vet visits and an ultrasound to find out. I left this appointment thinking, was that even an exam? Perhaps this doctor was having an off day. Anyway, not impressed.
They took my dog in as a new patient within the hr I called and did surgery the following day for the 52 bladder stones she had. They all were awesome, friendly, caaring, gentle and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Always a good experience:)
Great staff. I was able to get my cat and dog tuned up for summer on same appointment
The staff are very professional. The doctor is very good with animals. Very inexpensive and clean. Love that place.
Best vet care in Tucson, reasonable prices and treat you like family.
Good veterinarian staff is always friendly nice clean place
Very good team of Vets Nurses.
There are only a few words to describe this business...... Dedicated, Unselfish and Professional. We took our 13 year old Boston with an eye issue to Buena Pet Clinic. Unfortunately, it was a Friday end of the day type of emergency. They were booked solid, and they took us in anyway. Dr. Halbach looked at at our dog, saw the serious situation, WENT BEYOND WHAT WE HAVE EVER SEEN A VET DO....and took our dog and rearranged the appointments to get her eye operated on. Our Boston was ready for pick up at 5:30 that day, and YES HE SAVED HER LIFE. We are extremely grateful, because all the other vet hospitals and clinics in Tucson would not see her, and wanted us to wait five or more days to get the eye removed. She was in such enormous pain we contemplated euthanasia if we could not get her surgery. Dr. Halbach came to the rescue, and our healthy older Boston Sophia is doing great ! THANK YOU DOCTOR HALBACH WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUENA PET CLINIC !!! Em
I have brought my dogs here for over 20 years. Outstanding care, wonderful staff, fair cost.
Very friendly and professional .
I have taken my cats to Buena Pet for 20 years. Loved Dr. Wallace, and always appreciated Dr. Nightingale. But something has happened. It now seems to be all about money. I have had horrible experiences this last year. Vets trying to have me do things for my cat that are unnecessary. Blatant diagnostic mishaps, and gross over charging for medicine. I literally was double charged for meds and fluids recently. ThankI am done. Ripped off long enough. Sorry Dr. Nightingale, something has gone awry with what you and Dr. Wallace originally built. Not happy at all. Time to find another Vet, hopefully there is one out there that puts the animals before money. FYI I have worked in large animal veterinary medicine for 25 years. Sad day for me and my pets.
I love this place, the staff was opened and very inviting, the veterinarian was absolutely amazing, took great care of my dog
Horrible. Waited over 35 minutes post appointment time. No apology for running late. Was quoted a price for a Valley Fever test--It was about $20 more than quote. Was told they would call Tuesday. No call. Was told it would be Thursday. No call. Called on Friday and the vet was out so I was told they would try to get another vet look at file and test results and give me a call. I'm pretty sure I will have to call again.
Dr Holbach always does a great job with our fur family. Thanks for everything. If you are looking for an honest, caring vet, this is the place.
Outstanding veterinary, really care for your pets.
Very friendly and love the veterinarians they do such a great job to take care of our pets
Great Veterinary office! I brought my dog in to be spayed and the doctor and staff took great care of my 6 month old puppy. While she was under anesthesia they clipped her nails and even removed a puppy tooth that wasn't falling out on it's own. They were concerned about it interfering with the alignment of her jaw. These things were done as a courtesy while she was under anesthesia. This attention to detail and "doing the right thing" while my pup was already under is what makes Dr. Halbach and his team special.
My family and I have been going here for over 12 years. Amazing and caring staff!
Needed RX refill for my pup, fair office visit cost and they gave me a hint to go to COSTCO to save on his meds. Saved $105 over their cost.
Dr Halbach is a very good vet
Staff very supportive
Love Dr halbach
