After waiting over 4 hours at another facility with a sick dog vomiting blood and not being seen I left in a panic and drove here. I was seen immediately and treatment was started right away! The care and staff were top notch. They kept me informed of how my sweet girl was doing the whole night. I would NEVER go anywhere else for my pet emergencies. Thank you guys so much for helping both my sick puppy and my emotional self!

I brought my 13 week old Yorkie in with a injury from a fall. The staff was very attentive and whisked bruiser off immediately to get him checked out. They took such great care of both my puppy and myself. I am very pleased with the way everything was handled and I will come back if the need arises.

Brought my cat in to see the Cardiologist, Dr. Boutet, and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Mel, at the front desk, was incredibly kind and professional and answered all my questions while being checked in. I have a very moody cat but the technician handled her with such ease and took the time to allow her to relax. Dr. Boutet was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what the situation was while never pressuring me to run further test. The staff could not have been more professional, compassionate and caring.

AZ Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center is AWESOME! Our vet was out of town and our dog needed critical care. The overall service and compassion shown by all the staff members was excellent.

Melissa Amstutz

Very nice staff, helpful and kept us updated on our dog's status, gave simple aftercare instructions, the vet saw us sitting on the floor comforting our dog (scorpion sting) so she sat with us while we talked about his situation and gave him belly rubs

Kim W

They were pleasant, caring and attentive with our needs from the time we entered until we left. I also appreciate the thorough and calming they were.

Don Yeats

Immediate triage care! You can rest assured your pet is getting the best care at this facility! I only wish I could find a human doctors and staff as kind and thorough. Their tests are necessary. They are the best!

Arizona Veterinary Emergency on West Juniper. Mesa,Az. My pug of 15yrs old was brought there because she was not able to stand or walk. First thing off they said they needed over $700.00 for blood work and x ray. My wife emotionally said yes to their test. Unfortunately I was at work. As soon as I got there I was not able to see how her condition was, or I would have made the sad decision if I knew how bad off our baby was. The doctor called us saying about her condition and said we would need to give her medicine. We were under the impression that she would be able to stand and move around. After we payed the bill they carried her to us and they said she was standing and would need assistance to walk. My wife carried her to our car and as soon as we got home there is no way our pug can stand our walk. I called them and was upset saying to the person on the phone how could they even have the audacity to say that she able stand was waking around to with assistance. Now we are calling another clinic to have her put to rest...... Any other vet clinic seeing her condition would have gave the option of giving her a peaceful end.

I trusted them to care for my cat who was in critical condition and they forgot about him for 7 hours. Our cat had surgery and was not doing well after, it was like he would not come out of it. He was not eating so the vet suggested he be put on a feeding tube right away. I took him in at 1pm and requested the same. At 4pm I spoke with the vet who said at that time they had started the feeding through the tube. Later that evening I called to get an update to see if he was coming around yet and I was told by the vet tech that he had not ate and was refusing food. How do you refuse a feeding tube you ask? They never gave him the food through the tube. I was told that there was a 7 hour miscommunication and they forgot to feed my cat whos organs were shutting down because he had not eaten in 2 days (night before surgery until then). I immeadiately came in and sat in the waiting room and observed everything else to be done. In the morning I took him to another animal hospital. He started to improve with the nutrition, but it was too late. At that point he was on the feeding tube but he was not able to get what he needed in time. His organs failed. I don't know that he would have survived if he had been placed on the feeding tube sooner. but what I do know with 100% certainty is that you do NOT FORGET to place a feeding tube for 7 hours when the patient came in because he had not been eating. They made excuse after excuse as to why he was failing, including telling me he had heart failure which was not true, and later tested and determined not to be a factor because he did not have any progressive disease or failure. They already admitted to forgetting about him for 7 hours because they were so busy. But now I do not have my baby. You should never forget about a critical patient. It is just unacceptable. Go somewhere else, they are too busy to remember to care for your pet. You can't afford this mistake.

My cat has been my best friend, and with me for most of my life. Riku got sick like 4 or 5 days ago going from a cat most people mistook for a 3 year old to nothing but skin and bones. I love my cat, he was family. Tonight, I found out he had renal failure and that he could live, but a few months was about it. My husband and I brought him in just before he felt any real pain, and the Vet on duty was so kind and understanding. I'm still a bit to upset to look at the paperwork, but thank you guys for being so kind to me and Riku. He felt safe and loved. He knew what was happening, but your kindness help him just go without a fight. Thank you so much for everything. I could tell it was hard on you, even though you only knew him for a few hours at most. Thank you.

Ashley Dryer

They did a wonderful job of making sure there wasn't an immediate emergency before even asking my name. They focused on checking on my cat, then discussed non-emergency options.

Deanne Palmer

All of the doctors and support staff were wonderful and very caring. Sadly, our Duke passed over the rainbow bridge just before his cancer surgery. Again, the entire staff was very kind. I will definitely use them again if it's necessary.

Jennifer Camilleri

Every time something has happened to one of our fur babies, Arizona Vet Emergency has done a awesome job. I will say this, each person does their 100%+ to make you & your pet comfortable. Its hard being at the emergency but they do seriously try to make you feel better.

Michael R

They are awesome take your pet there if you ever have an issue they go above and beyond very caring staff as well.

Purveyor Of The Obvious

The evening of June 30th my husband and I were referred to this facility by our regular vet. Our dog suffered a severe injury to his eye. I was discouraged when we walked in... his injury was gruesome and there were so many in the waiting room. They know how to handle a crowd! Immediately, they took him to give him something for pain to keep him comfortable while he was being assessed. We waited. It took about an hour to be called for a consult. We were given two choices and a thorough explanation of procedures and possible outcomes. We were also given detailed costs. I found their pricing quite reasonable. They were so compassionate with him and us. His surgery was performed that night and we were called just before midnight with details. He stayed overnight and in the morning when we picked him up the same friendly faces helped us through discharge, meds, post op instructions and we even had a partial refund. The facility is well maintained, very clean and the snacks in the waiting room plentiful. The last place I wanted to be on Saturday. The last thing I would ever want to happen to our dog. As upsetting as it all was, I felt comforted and confident with AVECCC. From the front desk to the doctor who performed the surgery... EXCELLENT JOB! Thank you so much!

My dog has been fighting meningitis for about six months and has had multiple blood transfusions at this office. The staff is kind (especially the office manager Nicole - thank you for everything!) and the vets truly know their animal medicine and worked with us to keep our sweet golden retriever feeling well while she goes through chemo. We are still not sure what her outcome will be but my experiences with this office have shown me that there are still compassionate people in the world. Thank you for being there for us during such a difficult time.

Alyssa Garcia

Although they were busy, there was no wait for a room and my puppy truly enjoyed himself. They made him feel comfortable and lots of nurses stopped in to say hi and give him attention. I hope I never have to take him in for emergency care again, but if so, I will happily bring him back here. Thank you!

Lisa Marovich

Our puppy at chlorine early one Saturday morning. We took him to this facility. They took great care of him and he is doing great now.

Cassandra

Horrible...my dog was critical and I still waited 5 hours..then they want to charge time from when you got there on your bill...I ended up going to my regualr vet and asked for records..they have me a CD with my xrays and it was blank. My dog passed away yesterday..kills me to know I gave this place almost $700. Do not go there if you have an actual emergency. People go there for stupid reasons instead of an actual emergency so you wait time is awful.

Debra Lesko

I just left my precious kitty cat there. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They whisked him away for me the moment we walked in the door as they saw how distraught he was. Within 10 minutes I was talking to the doctor and she was making recommendations. And the situation was as grave as I thought it was when I took him in. They let me have as much time as I needed with him before they had to put him to sleep. I appreciate all the deep concern and care they gave to him in his last few hours. And although it was expensive how do you put a value on a pets life. I’m not sure how i’m going to pay for it but I know that my baby is no longer in pain and that he’s in a safe place now. Thank you for taking such good care of him in his end hours.

Ron Hutt

Took my dog there and was welcomed to a room right away. The vet. was good about explaining the situation. Happy dog happy owner!

Kayla Duff

Had to take my kitty in for an emergency and they did so amazing with KayNyne! Im so fhankful for everything they did and hes now fully recovered!

Aimee Hendrickson

I brought my four-year-old cat in late at night after she went into sudden distress. Although they were unable to save her, I appreciated the care we both received. The vet came in more than once to answer my questions and assure me our other pets were not in danger, as Cali had died from congestive heart failure. They were kind enough to press her paw prints into clay and go over my options for burial/cremation. It was a terrible event but the compassion shown by each person I encountered helped a great deal.

Renee Z

Excellent and caring staff. Took great care of my cat and took the time to explain my options. While I hope to never need emergency vet services again, I will definitely use them in the future if needed.

Samantha Longe

The doctors were extremely professional and caring, along with being extremely compassionate when helping us through our hard time in putting down our kitten. They were kind and helpful not only in taking care of our kitten but in helping us through the process. This is an amazing clinic, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Emeta Kraemer

Our vet referred us to AVEC for an after-hours emergency. They quickly got us in and determined our beagle girl had a UTI. Very much appreciated their care. On a side note -While we were there, two families brought in their beloved pets to go over the "Rainbow Bridge." I personally witnessed the kindness and care that was shown to these families. Thank you, AVEC. You have our pets AND our hearts in your hands.

Todd Wigington

These are the best people I have ever meet in this industry!! I had to put my best friend down and they were the most compassionate and loving people in the world!!! Thank You for Your Kindness!!

Scott Sternlieb

Great Vets and staff. Took great care of our Weimaraner. We even got a refund when we picked her up. A+ service. Thank you

Joni Meade

Everyone was so nice and caring. They took care of my..Luke...so well.

Kacy Suarez

I took my dog, they did a Waiting room triage.. 4 hours later still had not been seen. We went home. Took him to the vet on Monday... Tuesday he was dead. I realize it was busy... but 4 hours to be seen.. Maybe had he be seen within that 4 hours he might still be alive today

Harold Gatlin

I give this place 2 stars because they are open 24/7. I cant give then 5 because the wait time is very long. I consider myself patient but 4 hours wait time is a bit extreme. After 4 hours we left because the vets office was about to open. We never actually got to see the vet.

My vacation boarder sent my dog to this hospital when she had trouble breathing. While I am grateful that she received care; I’m VERY disappointed at how I was treated. The doctor I met with suggested that I speak with a specialist who wouldn’t be in until the next evening. After meeting the doctor, another person came in with a DNR directive. I asked if I could have some time to decide and she impatiently just stood there waiting for me to complete the form. Once the hospital learned that I wasn’t going to immediately put my dog down if things got worse, they wanted to keep her for an additional 2-3 days! The charges for care were running an average $1000/day plus meds. I asked for an estimate of ALL of the charges before I left. However, when I called the next day, I was told that the estimate was incorrect and they needed to add an additional $1000 to my bill. I immediately went to the hospital and picked up my dog. We went to her personal vet for a review and she has been doing well ever since. I think it’s despicable for this hospital to try to play on my emotional state in order to drain money out of me. If you are forced to use this place please do your own research, review every charge and get a second opinion somewhere else if you can!

Terry Jones

My dog had an emergency on a Saturday evening and Arizona Veterinary got us in right away and took amazing care of our dog.

Alsakka Tube

Quick triage, good vets, only used necessary procedures from estimate and adjusted price. Showed me how to care for him after discharge. My dog was saved from Parvo, Thank you!

Hilary Jimenez

At 2am, I was grateful to talk to a real person when I called about my dog in medical distress. Unfortunately, our dog did not survive and we did not do an autopsy to know what killed him. We were treated with compassion and dignity. I just wish my dog had come home alive with us.

K Kamenski

They were amazing. Helped save my cat. Very kind in a crazy situation. I appreciate everything they did.

Patricia Haines Baptiste

This place is awesome, if you ever need the BEST veterinary service for your beloved fuzzy child, this is the place to come. Thank you Dr. Boshaven and Dr. Quinn for giving me more time with my other half (my service dog Inge’) Hugs

Jo Ann McKinley

Over the last few years we have taken our beloved fur babies to this hospital to be put to sleep. Each time our hearts were heavy with grief and sadness. The staff made the experience so much better than we could have expected. They were compassionate and loving, they spoke so softly to us and to our pets. They made a very difficult time less difficult and we appreciated it so very much.

Sarah Ahart

This place is amazing! The staff are all very attentive and caring and put me at ease immediately. I had taken my dog to another emergency vet in the area (1st Pet) and had an absolutely terrible experience. After waiting for hours and hours on end at the other hospital, I finally left without ever even seeing a vet and came to Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center. And I am so glad that I did. They immediately saw my dog and in less than an hour, we had seen the vet and my dog was already having bloodwork and X -Rays done. They were very transparent with the cost of everything and were great at keeping me informed the entire time.

Kim Arther

The best staff I have ever encountered! We want to thank you being so magnificent in our time of need! We are forever grateful for caring for our Theodore! This made it a much easier process for allowing our family to grieve properly! You all went over and beyond your limits and not enough words can come close to explaining how appreciative we are of your staff and just wanted to let you all know! Love Theodore's Family!

Kat Wooley

The amount of respect I have for these people is out of this world. My dog died this morning due to a seizure and they didnt charge us when we brought her in to try and save her. This is the classiest place I have ever been to.

Vickie Preus

Although the wait was long, to be expected on a holiday weekend, the staff was extremely kind and friendly. They took excellent care of my fur baby and did not suggest to overtreat...I was impressed from the front desk to the triage person, and finally to the Vet!

Anne Ray

I don't know how this place has a 4.1 rating. You could literally wait for an eternity with no care. There has to be a better way to handle urgent care and critical care than this. You will wait and wait unless you go up to counter and check and recheck. They will have a tech come out and give you an update only if you are vocal. Tip for you: if you have an ill pet, have it hospitalized at your family vet until it has reasonably recovered so you won't have to deal with this place or another place like it.

Siqi Li

Staff members are friendly and patient, gladly explained all those medical terms and treatments and answered all questions.

Amanda Peterson

Although this was a tough time in my life and I had lost my best friend at this vet, the staff was very kind and caring. I appreciated their candor and understanding of my pets situation.

Dean Anderson

Absolutely awesome. My primary vet sent us there. I will always use in an emergency or when my vet is closed. Cared for my best friend like it was there own from beginning to end.

Juliana Clement

I can not express enough, how much I love this place! They are kind, compassionate and understanding. Both of our very small dogs, got into rat poisoning and we brought them here, immediately. Everything was organized and efficient. Each person that we dealt with, was very respectful and explained every detail about billing and their care, along the way. Because of their speed and expertise, neither one of my precious dogs suffered any symptoms, which could have easily caused their death. We were preparing for the worse and it's like nothing happened to them! The vets and the staff are all angels and we can't thank them enough. Oh! Also, we noticed that every one that we came into contact with, were happy. Clearly, they are taken care of and it shows. They were also so loving to our dogs ❤ Thank you, thank you, thank you! We HIGHLY recommend!

The staff at AZ Vet Emergency & Critical Care Center did a fine job. One of their very good points is that they very quickly get your pet in for triage, to check vital signs etc. This happened right away after we arrived. Unfortunately, my visit occurred on a Saturday night (about 8:30 p.m.) or so, and they were very busy that night. I did not get home until after 1 a.m. However, no problem with the staff. They do prioritize pets according to the urgency of their condition when they are brought in, so I was fortunate in that my dog was not in extreme emergency.

Our Veterinary Clinic in Casa Grande recommended 24/7 monitoring @ this Clinic for our 8 month old Pug who either ingested something or was bitten by an insect causing an acute reaction. When we arrived our Pug was taken immediately into a treatment room. We were updated by a staff Physician who outlined her recommendations for treatment. We highly recommend this Emergency Veterinary Clinic. The care was prompt and professional.

We brought our dog Felix in last month when he became unresponsive a week or two after we brought him home from the shelter. We were treating him for kennel cough but turns out he had pneumonia instead. The staff members were so kind to us and sweet to Felix, they truly cared for him. The wait was a bit long as we were there for about 4 hours, but I was patient due to the fact that they were very busy at 10 PM. They were understanding when I opted out of some treatment plans on the list they gave us. Him staying 24 hours to receive fluids was a bit costly, but it was the right choice because I don't think he would've survived through the night without it. We're very thankful to the staff and doctors for being patient with us through that rough day.

carole weatherbee

We spent several hours there with my very sick dog. The staff was quick to take her back and quick to get payment for the services they were doing. Unfortunately when we heard what was wrong and how much to keep her hospitalized we asked about payment plan in the beginning just in case as it is expensive. Some how someone there took it that we couldn't afford it. They sent us home with my very sick dog saying bring her back if she got worse.... really?!? First of all asking doesnt mean you dont have funds. You got paid for what you did do. My dog died on Monday. We did all we could that's why we brought her to your place. Please dont assume someone cant afford services just because they ask about payment plan. We would have paid whatever it took to help our little dog....now shes gone in less then one day....

Tara S

Thank you to the staff and doctors for taking such good care of our sweet Sydney over the last week. While this was a horrible time for our family, we feel to lucky she received the care she did. From the friendly staff who answered the phone, to the compassionate doctors and techs treating her. We are grateful.

Addy Robles

Everyone at this place was great, very friendly, informative and caring. I took my dog in after midnight for a wound infection, we were checked in and out of there in less than 2 hours. I have a very hyper and anxious dog and the staff made her feel safe. They sent us home with care instructions and medication and my dog was feeling better in just a few days. I would highly recommend AZ Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care. :)

Dennis Mc

On a weekend, without an appointment, we felt our dog was in urgent need of emergency care. We were treated by caring professionals who respectfully dealt with our choices and costs. Sammy recovered and has returned to full health. Thanks to everyone we dealt with!

Haley Rodriguez

Excellent experience! Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and showed a genuine care and concern for myself and my dog Fredd! Thanks so much!

David Taft

After checking in with the front desk, pretty quickly, we waited for almost 3 hours with no contact of any kind. Both secretaries at the front desk cleaned up around the lobby, grabbed their belongings and left for home, we assumed, as no words were spoken to me or my wife. After waiting for aproapproxima 15 to 20 minutes longer I took our dog out to the car while my wife tried to wave down someone to tell them that we were leaving. I will NEVER go back or recommend this facility to anyone.

Alan Johnson

We had our puppy (4 months old) eat gum from my kids room. Did not know this was not good. We took Jade in and the staff was so great and explained everything so I could understand exactly what was going on. They kept her overnight for two days to get her all better and I was not worried at all with leaving her there. When I picked her up they explained that they didn't have to do all the stuff they charged me for so they refunded me about $400. I own a company and we do this when we overcharge but I think this is the first company that has ever offered this to me. That is called honesty and for that I will not take my dogs anywhere else when in need. Thank you so much to the staff there and for saving our puppy! If I could give 10 stars I would. Keep up the great work! Thank you, Alan

John Jimenez

I took our dog to another ER facility and waited for almost 5 hours before I walked out. Took our dog to Arizona Vet ER & Critical Care. Was there and seen right away. Very happy with the services and care and cost were not bad.

Michelle Kubik

The doctors/staff were professional and caring, along with being extremely compassionate when helping us through our hard time of saying goodbye to our beloved Sampson. Dr Usiak was kind and helpful through the whole process, explaining everything to us. They let us have as much time as we needed with him on the back patio which was private and quite allowing us to say our goodbyes before the doctor to put him to sleep. They are all amazing at this clinic, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Tony Lloyd Jr

Dont waste your here. Waited 2 hours in the waiting room. Only to be put in another room and waited another 45 minutes. When I asked if they forgot about me, I was told that the doctor was on the phone and will get to me when she can. Left after 3 hours of waiting. Waste of time. Obviously my dogs health was of no concern for them. Sure glad a phone call is more important then the waiting patients. I understand if there were critical animals they are to be put first. As I would expect. But there were no critical animals that came in. Complete waste of time.

Kayla Stouffer

Highly recommend. Ofcourse the emergency clinics are a bit pricier than a normal vet, but they did everything to work with me and my funds to help my new dog feel better. Everyone there is compassionate and helpful. Helped my German Shepard with a really nasty case of kennel cough!! Thanks guys!

Jody G

Even though our little Sunny was having and bad reaction to a bee sting, the staff at this facility was AMAZING!!!! Thinking I was gonna pay $1,500 because of the overnight observation, gave me anxiety. However, she is family and we do what we have to do for our family. Picked her up the next morning with a HUGE refund of $1,050. Because she got better so quickly! Thank you so much for all you do for all the four legged family members that you care for, when they come through your doors, like they are your own!

Goldie Steele

We were very impressed on how everyone we dealt with took our concerns about our cat very seriously. She is now a well and happy cat.

Denise Carbone

Unfortunately, I have had to visit these folks twice in the last 6 months with my very sick dog. Both times, I feel the service of the front office staff, the technicians and the doctors has been exceptional. Communication, concern and care has been very good. I would and do highly recommend this facility to anyone who is in need of emergency animal care when their regular veterinarian is not available.

Shannil Merrill

We were there for over 5 hours. Staff was very rude and acted like it was absurd for us to bring out very sick kitten in. I will never go back.

Julie Moore

Excellent care and attention by the staff was given to our awesome Lab we all love so much. The staff also treated us very well updating us on how our girl was doing through each stage of her care and recovery. We're so happy she has fully healed and is close to being back to the playful pup we know and love.

Ed Wolin

There for a snake bite and then a broken leg. These guys are great in every way. Strongly recommend.

Katherine Nikolaus

The staff here was so wonderful and helped us so much in a very difficult time. Our vet Dr Heinritz was great and her tech Kirstin was beyond amazing! Highly recommend and thank you so much!

Heather Vargas

After our sweet 7 month old German Shepherd puppy was bit in the eye, our regular vet sent us to Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care as they weren't able to properly care for the emergency. He was seen very quickly and the vet did an awesome job getting his eye cleaned out, prescribed him some medication and then referred us to an eye specialist, which he was seen at the following day. The eye specialist told us that if it wasn't for the thorough cleaning done at Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care the day before, he would have lost his eye. They even called the next day to check in on him. A week later, he's doing so much better. Thank you for taking such good care of our boy.

Rob Miniuk

They saved my cat about 10 years ago! They called me every other hour for a week (6 or 7 days) my cat was housed there with the best care and giving me an update!!! Middle of the night and everything, and I answered every damn call (as pet owners understand) and so thankful they kept me updated!!! Something with her liver and had like a zero percent chance of living, but they saved her!! She survived, next to my leg on the couch pic!! My other cat is messing with her ear now and why I was looking up the location again and thought I would post a review and say thank you! I trust this place/business and has given me more than 10 years more with my cat and hopefully many more. Staff is awesome and a wonderful place!!!

Scott Decker

We had taken our little 13 1/2 year old dog the AZVECC for some issues that were really causing a lot of distress to her and the Vet's at the center were so very nice and were really concerned for her care. We ended up taking her back one more time and they were so helpful and caring with us, it really made us feel she was getting top notch care and I know she was. The offered all options and costs up front so there are no surprises either. By all accounts, I believe they did a great job for her and really tried to get her back to good health. Even though we did lose her a few days after, their care and concern were very much appreciated and I would recommend them to anyone needing their care.

Miranda Sheneman

Easter morning I woke up to my dog having an allergic reaction to something, I rushed him into the emergency vet since they were the only ones open on Easter. They took him back right away, and gave him all of the care he needed as well as follow up instructions for us at home. They were very quick and polite and made the scary experience a little bit easier for me and my dog.

Charlett Warren

I visited around 10pm on a Saturday night to have my Pug seen. She was taken from me immediately and told they would make sure she was stable and then get us into a room. I was not allowed to go with her. I then waited 4 hours with no updates. I went to the desk and was told I was in line behind 3 more people. I was told she was resting. Needless to say I was furious. Took my dog and wouldn't let me see her then have me wait for 4 hours??? During my wait, I observed 2 front desk girls. The first was very unprofessional, gossiping about the visitors at every chance she could. Whispering and giggling like a teenager. The 2nd desk person seemed more mature and didn't really participate in her partners gossip. The place was dirty, old and very unprofessional in general. When I finally saw the doctor, I learned that they had already examined my dog and given her medication without my consent. The diagnosis was weak and much of the symptoms I provided weren't considered. I then was stuck with a $200 bill for basically sitting up all night in a waiting room. I have since contacted my own vet and the symptoms I described alerted the vet that further testing is necessary and doesn't match AVECC's diagnosis. I would stay away from this place. Horrible care.

Rachel Burt

The triage team looked at our pup within 30 seconds of us entering the building on a busy Saturday night to assess criticality. Very professional staff, I can't say enough. Don't hesitate to bring your pets in.

Joe Logue

I can not express how lucky we were to find Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC) in Gilbert. We returned home to find our 13 year old Beagle, Cooper, not feeling well. We sat with him and realized that he needed help far more than we could provide. We arrived in the ER and they quickly took Cooper from us and started treatment. Sadly, there was nothing they could do but give him medication to let him rest. X-Rays and blood work did not show anything abnormal. Dr. Parrish took such great care of Cooper and we were able to say our goodbyes as she peacefully put him to sleep. Cooper and us (his family) were treated with dignity and respect thought this process which was not easy. Thank you again Dr. Parrish and all of the staff that helped Cooper that night.

Rachael Nunez

Save your money and find a real vet.. These people just want your money, they are not concerned with the well being of your animal.. That was painfully obvious when Charlie was see because of a bloody nose.. This place charged $110.00 to look up his nose and say we need $1000. worth of tests..

Carrie E

I have never needed an emergency vet. My friend who is a vet tech referred me here. Very attentive and compassionate. So glad to know if I ever need emergency services again, I have a great go-to. Dr. Petras and her staff are amazing. It's expensive, but expected. And to be honest wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Forever grateful for this place and everyone who works here.

Brought my dog in because he went paralyzed in half his body suddenly. Thankfully they got him in and on pain/ IV meds right away with no wait. I was in an absolute panic and completely vulnerable about him never being the same. They did some blood work and said they wouldn't know anything that it could be unless they kept him over night and ran xrays on him the next morning. They gave me that option ($5,500) or another option of keeping him there over night and bringing him to my regular vet the next day. They first quoted $2200 to run a bunch of tests that night and keep him there overnight. When I told them I didn't have that amount the vet in charge literally asked "how much do you have to spend?" Part of the price was they literally wanted to do a drug test on him for illegal street drugs!!!! They let me pick and choose what tests to run on him as if the vet in charge had no opinion on what to do and it was all up to me. Anyways we agreed to keep him there over night and pick him up in the morning for $1100. The next day, they gave me a print out of 2 possibilities of what was wrong and said he might need euthanasia. I was in tears. I decided to give him a fighting chance and took him home. Over the course of 3 weeks I nursed him back to health and he's made a full 100% recovery. No fallow up phone call, no advice on care, no encouraging words, just literally wanted money to pay for their computerized science lab in the back. This place literally had me in tears and COMPLETELY preyed on my vulnerability because I love my dog dearly. I will never take him back to this place and I'm totally shocked they can even sleep at night. They're only in business to take money from people in an emergency who are vulnerable. Neighbor across the street took hers there only for allergies and they said it needed to be put down. She did that, and I think she regrets it now.

I’m so pleased with our visit! My dog went in on the verge of death and within hours he was back up, walking and eating! I was highly impressed with how they work as a team and always prepared for anything. The nurses made me feel safe leaving my dog over night and the vet was super informative! I wish I could have her as our regular vet.

Ronald Harrison

Very caring and knowledgeable staff. ICU Dr. Caldwell spent a good amount of time with us during our dog's post op care at this facility. Just like a people hospital, but for animals. Definitely would recommend.

When your pet has an emergency, you don't have time to look around online and read reviews and figure everything out. As such, store this place in your phone. I don't like giving five stars, but when I do, it is because of an experience like I had at AZ Vet Emergency. From when I walked in the door to when I left, I felt that everyone truly cared for my pet's well-being. No, it isn't because I was giving them heaps of money, they were very reasonably priced (based on calls I made afterwards to other vets to see if I was ripped off). I just wish they offered other services because it is hard to find honest pet-care for a proper cost

Jamie OConnell

Everyone here was very nice and treated my fur baby with care she needed

Hussain Shauzab

I would give 5 stars for the staff and doctors, they were friendly and competent, but I want to give 0 stars because of the amount of time they took. I was the first and only one in the lobby when we came in and at least three other visitors who came after me, went ahead. We also had to wait 20+ minute between each step which was pretty frustrating. Fill paperwork - wait 20 min - go in the room for someone to come and take the vitals - wait 20 min in the room - doctor finally comes - get the treatment done - get told to go out for the discharge - wait 20 min again just for the discharge to begin. I had given it 3 stars but just writing all this riled me up again so I'm sorry for the 1 star but this place does need a lot of work on both their general and time management.

Greg Knick

Great team that took care of my lab after a rattlesnake bite. The whole team from the Dr. down to the lab techs were very professional and caring with my pup.

Gary Mirich

Friendly and efficient staff. They were quick to move on a critical case with my dog and kept me well informed. You guys were great!

Lori Ellinger

Everyone was great with my cat. But I never received an email from the doctor with all of her results as promised. Also way to expensive. $818.

I recently adopted a dog from Maricopa Anminal Care and Control and they give their intake dogs Bordetella but, 3 days after being home she developed Kennel Cough. I had scheduled a new vet visit but it was 2 more days out so I took her in. I checked in and was immediately take back to a room with my dog where there is not for 6 hours for being seen. It'll of 10 minutes or less. When I left, there was not one person in the waiting area. I understand why they separated us but I truly felt that I was forgotten about They did check on me after 5 hrs but l, honestly why did I wait 6 hrs to be seen? In addition the doc said she had the antibiotics but, they didn't so I then had to go to a 24 hr pharmacy and then they go home. When they came in to tell me the doctor would be in shortly a hr is not shortly after already waiting. I took my other dog (who recently passed) to you about 8 yrs ago for a dog attack and never felt the way I did on my most recent visit.

All the doctors and staff took wonderful care of my dog Remy the 4 days he was in the hospital. It was a tense time as he was quite ill, but I was kept updated and all of his testing and treatments were done in a timely fashion. A I have recommended this hospital for years and I will continue to do so after my personal experience here.

Alden Rebecca Spooner

Attentive and thorough care especially in the initial triage process. Gave me complete information that made me confident that I could wait to see my regular vet on Monday. Their assessment was 100% accurate.

Jessica Godinez

After my dog ate the treble hook with stinky bait attached we cut the fishing line and rushed over. The entire staff was amazing. We were treated right away and given all of our options. We were given constant updates on the progress. They removed all of it without having to open her up. They are on the other side of town for me but I wouldn't go anywhere else. A huge Thank You to the entire team.

Marlissa Whitney

My cat is diabetic...and I had to rush him to the hospital because he was hypoglycemic and literally actively dying enroute to the facility. When those doors opened, and I passed through them, I was immediately greeted with a cheerful welcome. Everyone acted quickly, and my 12 year old cat, Bob, was saved by an excellent team of professionals!!! I hope to never have to return...but if so, I would definitely run right here!! Thank you everyone! ❤️

Malia's Corner

My elderly cat had an emergency at 3:20 am. My husband called ahead of time and they were waiting for me when I arrived. They showed me the upmost respect and love when my old man was passing away. The staff was so kind and loving. I was a mess but they made the process so easy and comfortable.

Referred to AVECCC on the weekend because my normal vet was closed. The vet and staff at AVECCC provided excellent service for my 14 year old toy poodle, Max. Kept him overnight for observation and treatment for an acute pain in his spine area. Diagnosed as having a "slipped disk" in his back. Sent him home with medications to reduce inflammation and pain. Max is doing great after this visit to AVECCC. Highly recommend AVECCC if you have a problem with your pet especially if it occurs on the weekend. They have hours 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Hello, this emergency care hospital is absolutely the most amazing, well ran facility, we have ever experienced. We had an emergency with our cat and they took her in immediately with a great customer care attitude. The staff from the front desk to the vet that helped us was great. In an emergency, I wouldn't take my pets any other place.

Elizabeth Smiley

My dog ate a bunch of grapes, and AVECC took him in immediately to induce vomiting. Highly professional staff, very clean facility, and triage was quick. I live in San Tan Valley so I am hopeful AVECC will open a facility out here in the East Valley soon. We really need an emergency vet hospital!

Lindsey Speights

We went to this clinic when our dog was acting abnormal. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The wait wasn't bad either. If you need after hours care, this is the place to go. Great service! We wish we could go here as a regular vet service.

niña glam

They saved my baby’s life so I will be thankful forever

Scott Shook

Excellent triage and care! My buddy is doing so much better!

Nichole Stegmann

My French Bulldog puppy choked on beef chew bone and they took him right in and gave him oxygen. When they gave a us a quote on how much on it would be, it was expensive, but after researching with about 5 other places they were the least expensive and had the best care. They by far are the best! They truly care for animals and still have consideration for the owners too with price. Thank you so much for making an extremely scary moment a million times better with your love and care!

Rene DiDea

This place was great! Brought my puppy in for eating a plastic baggy of cooked bacon. Baggy and all... The staff was kind, organized, knowledgeable and informative. The vet we worked with was thorough and took time to talk despite the amount of other clients waiting. My puppy was happy with everyone that took care of her and she can be a bit hesitant around new people. I sat next to two different clients who had nothing but great things to say and assured me my pup was in good hands. I highly recommend bringing your furry family members here for care. Thank you.

Joan Porterie

Very professional staff and excellent service. I called before arrival regarding a ruptured abcess in my new rescue cat. Upon arrival, the already knew his name, took him back, and gave a pain med. The waiting room was packed on a Friday evening so they called in more doctors. I think there were 4-5 doctors treating patients. Although my cat was not seen for several hours, I saw and heard the Vets talked with pet owners in the waiting area, giving instructions etc. post treatment and they were very caring and professional. It was finally my cat's turn and the Vet met my husband and I in a private room to discuss the course of action and ask our permission. She was smart, polite, professional,, and caring. My cat's wound was debrided and given a dose of IV antibiotics, and oral antibiotics and pain med to take home and give with instructions. Withing 24hrs my cat was doing SO MUCH better. I had follow up appt. on MOnday and a nearby vet which luckily provided laser treatments over 6 days which worked miraculously! I LOVE LASER treatment. The Emergency clinic called the next day to make sure all was well with my cat. I would definitely go back to this Emergency Clinic with so many great reviews again as needed. Thank you!

We had a fantastic visit. Our regular vet wasn't able to fit our dog in when he tore off a nail, and we were seen right away when we walked in. They took great care of our dog, got him wrapped up, got us in and out quickly, and were super friendly throughout the whole visit!

Shelby Wilkins

Be sure to ask every question. They won’t offer deeper information unless you ask (likelihood of survival, after effects of treatment, diagnosis, etc). They pressured me into allowing them to give dog CPR after she had already passed for about a minute. Then, after paying hundreds of dollars for CPR, I found out from my regular vet that there is a 6% chance of survival from CPR and if they survive, they will most likely have permanent damage or pass again shortly after. All information they didn’t offer up. They made money off my emotions. My dog was put down that day. Stop and ask questions, or take your animal elsewhere.

Emma Lopez

I would recommend it to anyone who has a pet emergency. They treated our dog very well and the overall visit was a good one. Staff is very kind and professional.

Delya Lemberg

We were at this pet ER for 6 HOURS!! Maybe an extra back office person and one less up front. There were 3 in the front office the 6 hours I waited. Never once did they make eye contact with me and I was sitting right in front of them. They wasted a lot of time on their phones and chatting with each other. When asked by one back office person to help with something, they said NO, that they were too busy! Phone etiquette was excellent as was the Triage nurse. But, You can only say your next and It'll only be another hour so many times! We disagreed on the charges and I still think that I was not reimbursed the correct amount.

Kevin Hoffman

Very busy. They should work in conjunction with the other emergency vet hospitals to ensure animals are seen timely. It was a joke. My dog needed three staples for a slash to his leg and the average wait was 6 hours and you can’t leave. Maybe think outside the box and have vets on call or something. I went to another ER vet place in chandler and was done in an hour.

Professor Cream Cheese

Staff is super friendly and loving! Dr. Car is amazing. And to top it off the prices are extremely reasonable!

When we brought our dog in to Arizona Veterinary, we were frazzled. The staff at the care center were very friendly, sympathetic and helpful. They were able to assist us and ease our worries. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!

Erin Mullins

First of all, if you are looking for an ER vet, I am so sorry. Please rest easy trusting this vet with your pets. I was referred here from our family vet when my pug presented with a critical infection. When we arrived, the staff noticed right away how critical my pug was and whisked her away and got to work immediately. I was of course incredibly distraught, and there were some immediate financial concerns that needed to be dealt with. They helped me through it in the most sensitive way possible, and I'll forever appreciate that. They assessed my girl in private which makes sense in a critical situation. They brought me back into a private room fairly quickly, maybe 15 20 minutes? The news was grave, but we were offered frank practical and sensitive advice and as much time as the situation would allow to make medical decisions. Ultimately, we lost our pug, but by no fault of the staff here in any way. A couple days later we received a personalized card of condolence that provided us with some reassurance with our decisions. I sincerely hope I never have to come back, but if we do encounter another emergency, I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend to friends and family.

Carmen Ibarra

The best part of this place was the actually veterinarian which was very knowledgeable, sympathetic, and thorough with my pet's emergency care. The vet tech was also kind, knowledgeable, and helped guide my decisions and outweigh my options.. When I first walked in, I was not greeted. I was slowly inspecting the place as I slowly walked to the front desk because this was my first time here and first time at an urgent care for that matter. I did not feel welcomed & I was the one to greet both of the front desk ladies because I wasn't acknowledged from the minute I walked in. I was scared for my puppy's life and a simple "Hi" or even a smile as I walked in would've put me at ease. I almost walked out because typically great places with great patient care are all about excellent customer service. But I was here and I wanted my puppy to receive medical attention sooner rather than later. While I was filling out paperwork anxiously, the front desk kept talking about their coworkers in a negative way and kept complaining. I thought this was unprofessional and had me skeptical of this place but a tech had already taken my puppy back so there was no turning back. I left thankful for the care and recommendations that were given to my puppy but left feeling mixed emotions because of the first encounter with the front desk as that had set a bad first impression of the business.

I was referred to this facility by my vet for an ultrasound for my dog. After driving over 30 minutes to the facility, I was met by staff who immediately took my pet and within minutes wanted to triage her for heart failure. While admirable, I came for an ultrasound and am well aware she has a congenital heart defect and CHF. She was hot, excited and nervous which was only made worse when they took her from me and refused to let me be with her to calm her down. After 40 minutes and the request to begin oxygen and possible IV insertion and a request for a $450 deposit, I was invited back to an examine room and waited for a vet to join me to discuss their findings. Upon asking me multiple questions, of which they had her medical file for review, did I need to point out they had the information in their hands. Then I was informed that they didn't have an ultrasound tech on staff during the weekends. For being called an Emergency & Critical Care Center, I would think that would be a given or at least the doctors on duty can do an ultrasound themselves. Instead, they insisted on bringing in the canine cardiologist who was on call. After several vet exits and returns, I still have not seen my dog nor have they been able to reach the cardiologist. I was told he is "very involved with his kids". Regardless, in my world, someone on call is required to report within 30 minutes of being called and does not make plans that keep an emergency on hold. They insisted on keeping my pet overnight after me being there for 5 hrs. I called during the night, I was sent videos of her condition the following day and they insisted on another night's stay. On the 3rd day, we drove back up to get her and of course, they strongly advised we should leave her another night. My pet has a very enlarged heart and her breathing is rapid and shallow. I understand this but leaving her in a strange facility in a cage will not make her better or recover. I asked for them to bring her to us and was told no. Shortly after, a tech opened the door and asked if we would like to see her. When we said yes, she replied, I will go get her. ????? REALLY....after all this time all of a sudden it is ok to bring her to us? As soon as she saw us she perked up and settled in feeling safe that her Mom & Dad were with her. Upon seeing her in her "normal" state, there was no hesitation that we were taking her home regardless of their advice. Our decision was accepted and we were sent home with meds and instructions. That was over a month ago. She is happy, perky, has an appetite and loving life. Do I wish her breathing wasn't labored, yes. The canine cardiologist, supposedly highly recommended, stated he wouldn't have given this dog a chance over 2 years of life. She (a rescue) is well over 13 yrs old. When the good Lord needs her, she will be in her home with her family around her and not in a cage in the vet's office scared out of her mind hurrying the process up. I can only say that taking my pet from me and not allowing me to see her when I know what will help her was not conducive to aiding her only racked up $2000+ in bills. I came for an ultrasound.....I never got one. Humans are told to be their own advocate regarding health concerns. I was her advocate and my concern and knowing what was best for her fell on deaf ears. Staff was very nice but they did not listed to the client that knows their pet best.

My wife and I took in our 2 year old miniature Australian shepherd in early Saturday morning because of a paw injury that had been worsening over the past few days. We were very hesitant to take our dog to another veterinarian office as we were visiting family in Gilbert from San Diego. The front desk receptionist girls were very fast, friendly, and attentive to all of our needs. The woman who came out to check the status of our dog was very friendly, professional, and caring. The veterinarian doctor was also very kind, knowledgable and realistic in prescribing the best possible (and most affordable) plan of care for our little pup. I highly recommend this clinic without reservation for anyone needing emergency veterinarian services in the Greater Phoenix area. The clinic was clean, welcoming, and the staff was extremely caring!

Kelly Shermenti

It was honestly a joke with the entire "triage" show at check in. So I get told I have to pay a large sum of money right away "in case" they do certain things for my dog. Well my dog was dehydrated so he got an IV and nausea medicine... Also included in this large sum was routine labs and an ultrasound. My dog was having stomach issues and previously vomited so I asked about the ultrasound results and wanted a copy along with the lab results. Well after getting the deer in headlights look from the tech I knew I paid for something that was not done. I asked for a dictated reading of the ultrasound and was told that can't be done. Hmmmm okay but you can dictate a note of his visit today? Interesting... Also they tried to say my dog had liver or kidney failure and that he needed a few thousand dollars more in lab work because the routine panel was not sufficient. This place is so sketchy and just wants your money. Long story short I should of waited to take my dog to my regular vet because my dog was fine he had no issues with heart worm or his liver or kidney. Soooo yeah if it's not life or death then wait and see your vet when you can. And honestly even if it was life and death I certainly wouldn't go here and trust these crooks.

Jennifer Trick

My dog needed emergency care at 10pm on a weekday. The staff there took amazing care of my dog, who ended up needing to stay 2 days, and also kept me informed every step of the way. I could even visit my dog during her stay so she wasn't as scared. I am so grateful that vets like this exist because I am not sure my dog would have made it until morning without help.

Rebecca Curell

Amazing staff, would highly recommend. I took my 11 week old kitten there for a seizure and the whole staff was so compassionate and acomidating. Dr. Edberg was very knowledgeable and thorough and gave me several options for treatment and even consulted my primary care vet to give me the best options. I received constant updates while I was waiting. I had to hospitalize my baby overnight, but I left there feeling very confident that she is in the best care possible. Emergencies suck but if there is one with your pet, AVECCC is the best place to go.

Last night my sweet Tilly was dying. My vet offered to put her down but I wasn’t ready to believe it was her time . My plan was to have her euthanized in our home . As the evening progressed Tilly was suffering and declining rapidly. She wasn’t going to make it for someone to come to our home for her to pass. I searched online and found AZ Vet . We drove to them immediatly. The waiting room was so crowded and they immediately took care of my Tilly within seconds . They knew she was on borrowed time. Sadly she passed before they could get her cath in. It was truly devastating to experience those last hours with her . The vet techs at Az Vet were superior in their compassion, kindness, understanding and ,immediate response from the moment we walked in til the moment we left . I cannot thank them enough for their kindness. Their love of what they do truly shows and it was no doubt a tragic time for us as our Tilly passed on. I highly recommend them for all of your emergency pet needs. Thank you for all that you did for us .

Paula Martin

I took my Basset hound into the center at 10pm in order to have a leg injury assessed. On arrival, the receptionist was pleasant and helpful in assisting me with a stretcher to bring my dog into the center. The lobby had a number of people in it, so I understood why it took time for her to be seen.( I have never been in an Emergency Room for animals or human beings that did not involve a wait.) X-rays were completed, blood work and pain meds given. The vet was helpful and thorough with her diagnosis and discussion with me. The discharge instructions were terrific and they helped me get her back into my car. Because it was an ED visit, I expected a large bill. I felt it was reasonable for an Emergency Room setting. I would recommend the center to a friend.

James Brown

Our male tabby had gotten sick on something and he wasn't eating or drinking for a couple of days. We were really worried and took him to the AZ Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center and they hydrated him and gave him some ant-nausea meds. He was back to his normal, bad-boy self by the next day. And we were all happy again! Thank you!
