My dog Xena was recently bit by a rattlesnake. When I called 1st pet to ask if they could help her they said yes and would be ready for her when we got there! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and I felt my dog was in safe hands! All of her treatments were a success and the cost cheaper than expected! This place is awesome! I highly recommend them! Thank you all for saving Xena! :)

The customer service and level of professionalism, along with a true sense that my animal was being cared for correctly, made our visit very comforting. I like that they made a follow up call the next day to check to see how my pet was. Keep up the great work!

My husband and I recently rescued a shepherd puppy off a reservation who almost died from sickness this past weekend. But thanks to Dr. Shannon Kafer and team, our little guy made it through and is turning out to be one strong, healthy boy! Thank you so much Dr. Kafer and 1st Pet Vet Center for saving our puppy's life!

My husband Monte and I want to thank everyone at the Mesa 1st Pet for their wonderful care and human kindness. Thank you all for the love that you gave to Jelli.

BEST VET IN THE VALLEY Took a very sick mini schnauzer here for therapy. Was told he might not recover from his paralysis. Well he is up and walking and being a happy dog again. I cant say enough about this AWESOME, EXCELLENT, SAFE place for animals and humans. Id buy stock if they offered it. The Therapy ladies are so sweet and take care of the animal and the human owners as well. The therapy Dr Lindgrin suggested was amazing. Tatiana, Kellem, and Trinity are awesome. We have our boy back and he is so happy. GOD I love this place.

Tiana Chavez

They listen and care! And offered a very generous snack basket with drinks while waiting. Thank you! And thank you for helping my dog and calling to check up on him!

Karen Duke

Absolutely wonderful staff and facilities. Everyone was so kind and compassionate. I loved that they were extremely quick and efficient, while still maintaining a calm and soothing atmosphere.

I am continually impressed with the care 1st Pet has shown myself and for my pets. The staff is attentive and caring and so very friendly. They play very soothing music in their exam rooms and bring in a snack basket which is such a sweet bonus... especially when you don't have time for dinner, haha!

I had the worst experience ever!! I would give no stars if I could. They were so rude and I feel they were using the fact that I was mourning the loss of my puppy to try to take advantage of me and scare me into paying their outrageous prices. I’ll try to make a long story short. I called them to ask questions about bringing my puppy in because I was concerned she had parvo. I immediately got a bad vibe just from my phone conversation so I took her to a different place even tho it was 15 minutes further from my house. She tested positive for parvo and after several hours of IVs, treatment and medications I brought her home to take care of her. The next day my other puppy showed signs of parvo and ended up passing away thru the night. I took him to 1st Pet to be cremated because it was closer. When I left I decided to bring the first puppy back for a check to make sure she was making progress. 1st Pet was closer and I was scared after the other puppy passed so quickly. When I brought her to 1st Pet she was still very lethargic. She was only 2 days into her treatment. The doctor looked at her and said “this is what we call failed at home treatment”. She told me her heart was weak and if I didn’t hospitalize her she would die. I was already heart broken and crying from the puppy who had just passed away. She asked me if I wanted a quote for hospitalization and I said yes. When she gave me the quote it was almost double what the other place quoted me. I asked her about it and her response was “well those are our prices”. She didn’t try to work with me at all, she didn’t give me any options. I told her I was going back to the first place I had taken her to. She said ok. And charged me $125. I went back to the other place and they said she was improving. Her heart was strong. Her vitals were within normal range and she was stable. This was 30 minutes after First Pet told me her heart was weak and she was going to die. They gave me more fluids for her, worked with me on the price for at home treatment and she has now made a full recovery. I will never go back to First Pet. They were rude, inconsiderate, lied to me about my puppy and their prices are much higher than other emergency vets. $125 for lies and rude comments! I wonder how many people they lie to in emergency situations just to steal their money! Terrible experience and I will never go back!

I am very grateful to the staff at the Mesa location for being so compassionate at one of the worst times of my life. My beloved cat was unexpectedly passing and had to be put down. The staff took such good care of him in his final moments! They were very compassionate and respective of our wishes. I felt that my cat passed with dignity and feeling loved. Thank you so much for what you do!!!!

Mary Yearack

When I had to put my precious Ginger (17 years old) to sleep the entire staff was so amazingly compassionate and caring. Dr Carrie was just the best making sure that saying good-bye was done with dignity. Now they are taking excellent care of our Jake, who is a handful.

Audrey Ford

Clean facility, fair pricing, very knowledgeable staff and doctors. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

Blake Winters

We were continually impressed with the care and kindness the staff had offered to both us and our cat, Stash. The price was reasonable for the amount of care and length of stay for our cat. Highly recommend anyone in need of an emergency vet to visit here :)

Rodney Lacy

I wish I could give 10 stars to 1st pet. Best experience we have ever had at a veterinary. Very clean and professional. Great job well done.

Kim Peterson

Staff was very friendly and caring. The vet/tech took good care of my fur son. He’s all better now. :) I would come back and recommend to family and friends.

Theresa Johnson

The entire staff was very friendly, professional and caring. They were excellent and patient when dealing with Chloe. She is doing so much better and I really appreciated the follow up call. We will absolutely use 1st Pet Veterinary as our go to Vet whenever we are in the area!

Tammy A

Our experience at 1st Pet Veterinary Centers was wonderful! The staff and veterinarian were all very helpful and the concern was about the care of our cat and not about money like most places are. I especially liked that they are cat certified, they definitely know what they are doing.

Veronica Gutierrez

Beautiful facility. Fair prices and a great staff. My dog is very jumpy around strangers. He walked right up to the vet and let her pet him. She was great with him and he trusted her. It was so comforting to see him well taken care of.

Stephanie Schutt

The staff were so arrogant and rude. We will find a better place next time we have an emergency.

Dennis Schrader

Our chihuahua started having seizures, took her to 1st Pet where they accessed her condition. With the help of the great people there and getting her on proper medications, she has not had another seizure since. Happy to know that 1st pet is always there when needed, for excellent care.

Sandra Bradley

We received sad news, but received excellent and compassionate care. They are also concerned with stress for your pet and do their best to make it as stress free as possible for you and them.

Chris Robinson

My pug had to have a c section. The staff was very courteous and professional. They went out of their way to ensure both myself and my baby were comfortable. The procedure went well and mom and baby are both happy and healthy thanks to their care.

Donja Montano

We took or pittie there on a Saturday for a foot infection. All vets were closed. They took our dog in right away and gave us a huge basket of assorted snacks and drinks while we waited. The rooms were clean, pleasant looking. The staff was very caring and very friendly. The price for our baby's care seemed no more expensive than a non 24 hr vet. We had another dog with the same problem a week ago and had no sedation nor wound care and went to our regular vet. That cost about half of what 1st pet cost for our pittie that needed more care. We have gone to other pet clinics in Gilbert and the cost was way over the top. I highly recommend 1st pet. This was our 1st time going there and I will continue to go here from now on.

Mitchell Gonzalez

1st Pet Veterinary do a quick hack job for a high price! Basicly set my dog up to die! Took him to another vet right after paying 300 for a few staples, they said to report these people.

Ismail Moayedpardazi

We took our sick kitty there and unfortunately the news wasn’t good. We had to say goodbye to our sweet little babe. The staff was extremely caring and let us take our time saying goodbye. Everyone was so nice and compassionate during this hard time. A few days letter we got an unexpected letter in the mail. It was from the doctor and staff. They had each taken the time to hand write a message to us about our kitty. They even sent us little snippets of her hair tied up in little bows and copies of her paw prints. This was completely unexpected and really meant a lot to us all, especially our children. For an extremely difficult situation, the staff at 1st Pet went above and beyond for our little kitty and our family. Thank you so much

My dog was bit by a rattlesnake a week ago. 1st pet was very helpful in letting me know the process. Their staff helped me and my pet through a very difficult time. I was able to visit my pet for as long as I wanted and anytime day or night. My pet is like a child to me and the staff was able to give her loving care and treated her like a baby. It meant the world to me to have them watch her so closely and continue to monitor her progress. Our follow up appointment was wonderful and Dr. Brock was amazing at being quick but very thorough in the exam and explained exactly what to expect over the next couple of weeks. They are helping us to have an amazing recovery from something that should have killed my 4 lb. fur baby.

Bethany Skabelund

This place is amazing! I took my dog in early on Thursday morning and they were so quick at getting us in and having him checked. They even gave me a complimentary snack basket and checked in periodically with me while I waited for my dog’s prescription to make sure we were doing okay. The staff was so nice! The staff was also very understanding of my dog and his barking, as he’s very protective. But their kindness helped him to calm down and know that we were safe. Thank you!!

Laura Maltby

My experience with 1st Pet Vet in Mesa was top notch. The staff was friendly and professional. They have an excellent customer service system in place! They were attentive to my pet’s needs and took quick action when needed. The service received was better than expected. I would definitely recommend 1st Pet Vet in Mesa!

Get stream sniped

Very frustrating to deal with. I found them to be difficult and not cooperative. I don’t feel they care about the animal’s well being as much as their business model!

Jo Bolin

I appreciate Dr. Butler and the staff at the Mesa location. They were able to see us right away. There was a welcoming feeling as soon as we came in and we were shown to a room immediately. All of the staff interacted with our cat with a very kind and sympathetic demeanor. Some great touches to point out: -Refreshments for the pawrents -Treats for the furbabies -Calm, and clean room -Everything done in one room- even the invoicing/payment (so nice to avoid the whole front desk, waiting room, the inner room, then back to the front desk scenario when your pet isn't doing so well) The pricing may be what you would expect from an emergency clinic, however, I did see some materials on payment arrangements/care credit and you receive very friendly and quick service. Thank you!

Patricia Knoop

Offered same day appt (had been put off for 3 to 4 days ahead by 3 other clinics in the area). Very friendly staff, prompt attention & Dr. Hohnbaum was wonderful. Explained everything as she examined Uma & thoroughly explained treatment plan & why. Highly recommend them.

Terri Featherston

We recently had to put our little Man down. As everyone knows, it's extremely difficult. Upon arrival, we were escorted quickly to a beautiful private room, every staff member were so compassionate, kind and considerate of our sorrow. As difficult as this was, 1st Pet made it the most bearable as possible. Shortly after, we received a beautiful card that we will keep forever. Staff didn't just sign names, they really expressed their feelings. Thank you so much for that. I have been to this clinic before with my other pups, service is always top notch. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

Stephanie Brandenburg

I brought my dog in for an emergency and he ended up having to be put to sleep now an hour and a half later I'm still sitting up here because I don't have $1,700 to pay them for an hour of their time they won't allow me to set up a payment plan and they're threatening to call the police on me if I leave I'm up here with my infant and my two other children who are hungry and I can't leave this place or the police will be called do not ever come to here. I just had to put my dog of 12 years to sleep and they are the most insensitive and money-hungry hungry people I have ever met. They refuse to set up a payment plan with me even though I get paid next week and I'm offering to pay them they will not work with me at all and said that if I leave the police will be called

I took my very small pregnant chihuahua in there for an emergency because she was in labor and her contractions were not regular at all!! Right when I got her in there I had no money so I had to sign up for the Care credit card...I was told because she was in labor if she did not have a baby with in 4 hours she would have to have an emergency C-section! And then she was never seen by a doctor but the nurse told me I needed to keep her quiet and calm while we waited period. She was never examined and we sat in the waiting room for about 4 hours I asked shouldn't she have been seen by now I would just like her to be started on a little pitocin and I had asked that right when I got there they said there's no way they could do that without her being examined with an ultrasound and an x-ray, I have no idea why they had to have both when they both told you how many and how big her babies would be. Anyway after 4 hours I said you know this is past this emergency C-section time and I do not have enough money to pay $2,800 or $1,800 for an emergency C-section! At that time they took us into an exam room and within another hour I said can't we just start the pitocin oh no no no so they finally took her back 15 minutes later they bring her back and say oh no there's no way this puppy is huge there's no way she could pass this puppy and it would kill the mom or I would get stuck or whatever whatever but they would not do the pitocin but if I want it I could leave her there so that they could monitor her let them find out how much that would cost for me to do that and then we can wait till the morning and go to the regular vet for a much cheaper C-section!! I said thanks but no thanks I'll just take her home I brought her home and within two hours she finally pushed out the placenta so obviously the baby is now dead because it has no oxygen or anything without the placenta and within minutes the baby was born much much smaller than her last litter and I had explained to them her first litter had huge puppies that came out just fine! They left us waiting there for so long it was just a big fat joke there were numerous people walking out because of this emergency that they left him sitting there without even being seen for hours and hours and hours if you have an emergency do not go to this vet you will be very very upset cuz they're emergency is 510 hours down the road actually the worst vet I've ever been to In My Life and if you love your pet do not go there!! I believe had they just giving her the pitocin right when we got there she would have had her baby he would have been perfectly fine with no issues the problem was she wasn't having contractions regularly.....I'm really angry at that place and all they really want is a lot of money and they really couldn't care less about your pet!!

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY. I made an appointment for my dog who was DOWN. And needed physical therapy to help build muscle mass. I explained my situation with my dog not being able to WALK and they couldn’t get me in for THREE WEEKS. So I try to understand and wait the three weeks and do it at home. His appointment was on Tuesday and they call me 4 days before his appointment and tell me that now I need to wait THREE MORE WEEKS. I can’t do that, he’s over 100 pounds and doing the at home physical therapy isn’t working anymore and he needs professional help. Go somewhere that cares. Skip this place. P

Rough play resulted in bite wounds that needed attention; the staff at 1st Pet Veterinary were great. She's much more comfortable and she's healing well.

I had an emergency situation with my older dog in the middle of the night, and took him to their clinic. They were so nice and accommodating, and ran numerous tests to determine what was wrong. I was able to take him home, but unfortunately was back there two days later to have him euthanized. The team that we dealt with was so caring, and I felt so comfortable with their accommodations. I want to thank their staff for making this difficult situation easier for my family and me, and would recommend their clinic to others!

Mrs Ward

The staff was fabulous! they helped out my dog Queen and they listen to me!! I recommend first pet to every one, because VCA recommended first pet to me thank you VCA!!

Larry Mahana

Nothing could be better! 1st Pet is the absolute best! My wife and I are registered nurses with ER and Critical Care backgrounds; whenever we were allowed to go into the care area, it looked very organized and had equipment just like an intensive care unit. We recommend 1st Pet to every one. We also appreciate their service to military veterans. Thank you so much for the military discount AND for your professional, friendly, competent service!

I don't typically write reviews, I'm much more of a lesson learned and don't go back kind of guy. That being said, I had to write a review of the amazing treatment my dog Kit and I received at 1st Pet. We went in Friday night because Kit was breathing heavily. The doctors got us right in and diagnosed one of two issues. They ran tests and advised I would get results Tuesday as they had to be sent out (it was a holiday weekend). The nurse called me Tuesday with bad news and my pup passed a few hours later. The staff here were great. I called and they helped me with that to do with my deceased pet, when helping me transport him from my truck. They helped with memory options and made paw print imprints for me as well as returning his collar to me. All of this was great but what really got me was a handwritten card I received a few days later. The entire staff wrote messages and signed the card. That was completely unexpected and well above the call of duty. I want to personally thank Kim, Kayla, Brandon, Ashley, Taylor, Jenny and Dr. Lindgren. You're all amazing. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't have many great things to say about this animal hospital. The front desk staff were initially accommodating and rushed my cat to the back to be seen as it was an emergency situation. I was ushered into a very lovely examination room, talked with an incredible vet tech about what happened, and that's where the good experience ended. Almost 3 hours after talking to the vet tech, I had yet to see the veterinarian or know what was going on with my cat. After talking to the receptionist at the front about the wait and lack of communication, she came back into the examination room and relaid a message from the vet. I was told by the receptionist the reason the vet hadn't come into the room to talk with me was that she wanted to have a game plan before speaking with me. That left me confused and irritated as communicating with the pet owner about how to proceed is generally a good bedside practice. I do realize when in an emergency, the vet may not have time to talk, but from what I gathered later, my cat had stabilized for the moment. Once the vet finally made it into the room, I was told prognosis wasn't great and then handed an astronomical estimate for care, despite the risks and complications involved, which weren't fully discussed. I was only given the option to proceed with the vet's initial treatment plan. No information was gathered about myself or my financial situation. No plan B was given until I pushed for it, and once I determined plan B wouldn't work either, I had to come up with plan C. Due to the astoundingly high estimate and the quality of life my cat would lack, I decided to euthanize. Would you think things couldn't get any worse from there? Wrong. A different receptionist came in to give me the cost for euthanization, which was price gouging at it's best! For euthanization and cremation, the price was a staggering $250! That wasn't with any returned remains or special treatment. I've NEVER paid so much money to have a pet euthanized. On top of that, this receptionist was not clear on her facts about my cat's current treatment plan and tried to tell me a costly procedure had already been done, when it had not even been started! The one star was for the lovely vet tech who was extremely sympathetic in a time of great sorrow. If this review was just based on her, I would leave five stars. I'm not one to leave reviews from bad experiences, but this was horrifying. I will NEVER return to this clinic and would recommend others avoid it as well. My heart is absolutely broken, and this clinic just made the experience more traumatic.

Katie Culberson

DO NOT USE THIS VET. The one in Mesa is only concerned about their expensive fish tanks and fancy office. They actually write up bills before they even see your pet! They also kept pushing for surgery before we knew the real cause of my cat's pain in her foot. We felt taking advantage of, and truly felt that they cared ONLY about the money, not the pet herself.

Stephanie Kwakye

I thought the doctor had excellent bedside manner. I am a doctor as well so I know how staff in a hospital should interact with patients and family. The tech was also very kind and understanding of our concerns. The part where you need to do better is with some of your desk staff. Melissa or Alisa, I don’t know what her name is left a voicemail on MY phone to call back. I was busy at work so I let my fiancé do this. She wasn’t available so he called back maybe an hour later. The staff member who picked up the phone had a nasty attitude. They stupidly forgot to put him on hold and had the audacity to say “Again?!” When they found out my fiancé was calling a second time. He heard this exchange and gave a piece of his mind and rightfully so. Although this is an animal clinic, I still hold the same standards as I would a hospital since I am a physician. It’s probably not a good idea to show exasperation to a worried family member after they were told to call back for follow up. If you don’t have the patience to deal with someone calling twice to follow up about concerns on their sick pet then you probably need to consider working with a different population. Overall the staff have been excellent but that interaction is not okay.

We brought our beloved Rudy to 1st Pet last year. He was suffering from cancer in his leg. Dr. Waldo spoke with us and examined our Rudy. He was so kind and answered all of our questions. Two months later, we had to bring Rudy back to let him cross the rainbow bridge. The staff was amazing. They took my husband and me, along with our children to a large room so we could say goodbye. They allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They did not rush us at all. A week later we picked up Rudys remains in a beautiful wooden box. The staff all signed a condolence card and mailed it to us along with his paw prints. Since then, we have taken our other 2 pups into the 1st Pet. They love Dr. Waldo and the rest of the staff! Dr. Waldo always remembers our pups. The pups also love the basket of treats in the exam room. Thank you so much for all that you do for our pups!!

Torey Harkins

Professional, friendly and open 24 hrs! Staff is so caring and put not only my pet, but me at ease.

Richard James

took my dog in for ingestion of an amphetamine. First we waited in a little room for 20 minutes. Then they took the dog back. A half hour later they come back. At this point I expected that they would have something to tell me. But then they tell me that it will be several hours before the veterinarian will be able to see the dog. I say well can we at least start him on IVs so that he doesn't have any additional problems. They say no we can't do anything until the veterinarian sees the dog and gives us a treatment plan. They would not consider doing anything until the veterinarian got to see him and the veterinarian would not see him for several hours. Finally we left and went to another veterinarian who saw him immediately. The staff really did not seem to care even though he was twitching and doing all sorts of weird Behavior, they just did not seem to care one bit.

Theo Colvin

1st Pet is the best! Great veterinarians and support staff. I am so glad that I found them. Thank you!!!

Jon Floate

Our 11 year old cat got hurt somehow, we have our suspicions but can't prove it. I found this place on google and called, during the call I was told the visit and checkup would cost $125....ok, not something people usually keep money back for but we did it. They got her on the board as inbound while we talked. My wife and daughter took her down without a carrier and saw her pretty quickly. They even gave them snacks lol. That little something helped calm them down. The vet was really nice and thorough. The rest of the bill was $120. So, a trip to the er, and a plan to make her better cost less than $250. Nice people, good vet, cat is happy and on the mend. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you!!

Brett Bowman

The Mesa location is absolutely the worst veterinarian we’ve ever come across. If you want a corporate type of establishment with a rude and uncaring staff then this is the place to go.

Price Family

The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Trinity & Tatiana are remarkable therapists. Kellen is a remarkable assistant. All 3 are so caring and gentle with their patients. It takes special people to work with sick and injured animals and 1st Pet Veterinary Center in Mesa has the cream of the crop! I can't heap enough praise on them. Thank you all.

Kristy Allred

They saved our girl! Very great communication and were compassionate when we were so upset about our Tilly girl. Highly recommend.

DeAnn Chandler

they went over costs prior to doing anything which was nice so i weigh my options. love them! i'm keep them as my primary vet i think!

Mary Denny

Love this place love the staff and the doctors saved my kitty. And helped my other fur babies

Scantleek2

Waited three hours NOT to be seen as people who freshly walked in were pushed ahead me . Unacceptable.

Bill Kelly

My second experience and with a different animal and it was as great as the first. Dr. Begay carefully explained what the treatment options were and this allowed me to make an informed decision. Unlike my recent experiences with other vets, there was no impassioned encouragement of a costly battery of tests that may or may not help in the diagnosis. The medication prescribed did the job and I was also given some medication for a secondary problem that appears to be helping. The additional cost for an emergency examination was not nearly as inflated as similar services provided by other vets who take advantage. As with my first visit, the vet tech was also very good. Grateful and totally satisfied - Thanks!

Jaymz Bott

When my wife walked in, the front desk gentlemen advised her immediately that there had been some puppies with Parvo and he recommended that we not put our puppy down on the floor. He said they had cleaned but just as a precaution since this was our puppies first round of shots. She was able to let me know before I came in with our puppy. That attention to detail is amazing and very much appreciated nowadays. Thank you!

Brenda Turner

I rushed my 18 year old fur baby in for cluster seizures. The staff was compassionate and helpful. My girl is doing great now! Her energy is back, and she’s interacting again. She has been suffering for seizures for about a year and has been on medication.

Tina Knowler

Best Emergency care ever. I thought I was going to lose my dog. After multiple hospitals I ended up here, even though they were busy and short handed they keep me updated gave me information to read. Had my dog in emergency surgery. It's been a few days she is still in ICU doing better. When I call they answer they call me with updates. I was allowed to curl up in her "kennel" area to comfort her and ease my breaking heart. I can not stress how amazing this team is.

Melanie Jones

My dog received treatment at 1st Pet. I was so impressed with how quickly they were able to get my dog in to be seen. The Veterinarian was also wonderful. She was able to diagnosis my dog and give me options without running up the bill. Initially I was unsure about the diagnosis but she was right on the money with it and my dog is feeling so much better. Thank you so much for your help! I would gladly recommend 1st Pet.

Sandi Redfearn

We were just there with our 8 week old puppy who had a seizure. We get there and taken right back. They were very concerned. That she needed to be seen right away and all that. We were told there was one critical in front of her and shouldn't be too long. We didn't see anyone after that. Not one person came in at anytime to check on her or even give us an update on time. Finally after almost 3 hours sitting in there I went and asked for an update. Was told there were 2 in front of her that was there before us. Also 6 critical came in and they had 1 vet . There was 3 people at the desk and we had seen multiple techs the entire time. We waited another hour so that's 4 total. We left without seeing anyone. We were very unimpressed with how things were handled. Communication would go a long way and we didn't even get that. And for an emergency vet to staff only 1 vet that doesn't make sense.

I just had to bring my fur baby here for an emergency and I can’t say thank you enough for the care my dog received here. First they brought us a hospitality basket with water and snacks and they were very on top of keeping me informed with the treatment for him. They made sure he was comfortable and as pain free as possible. You can really tell these people care about your babies and it sets them way apart from other emergency vet clinics I’ve gone to in the past. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of Grizz. We appreciate it so much, I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Theresa Nichols

To Dr. Hohnbaum andstaff, CANCER! Never the word you want to hear for Human or Pet, But that's exactly what we heared the day we brought Our 4 legged family member in we were beyond devistated, and I couldn't think past that closed door... But the staff and Dr. Hohnbaum were amazing and that means a lot to me, you have taken great care of her then and now, until it is time! Thank you! and to the techs that clipped our Cami's nails thank you, She is hooked on pretzels and cheese

K. Correa

this vet literally doesn’t care for your pet all they care about is your money. i took my dog to the ER because a rattlesnake bit him. they were charging us around $2,000 just so my dog can stay overnight ( they also told us there’s a 50/50 chance he can live) so we were there for a good 2 hours and they did completely nothing !! we even asked them if we could do a payment plans but they said no you have to pay half of it right now.. so we ended up taking my dog to another vet and they checked him and gave us medication and we only spent around $80. i don’t recommend this vet. like i said they don’t care for your pet all this want is your money.

Calaya Cravens

My sister and I took our 8 year old dachshund a few days ago for an emergency and I'm glad we did. It was late in the evening and they were able to get him examined right away and try to figure out what was wrong. The staff were very helpful in getting us answers. The only problem was they wanted to keep him overnight because they thought he might get worse and possibly even die if we took him home. So then we debated for 2 hours what was best for our dachshund. Just for 12 hour care was close to $1,000. No way was that possible for us. We decided to just pay for his diagnosis, his medicine, and examination and then take him home. I know the staff cares but when they say that your dog is dying it's a very scary moment and they make it seem like there's only 2 options; 1. Spend money you don't really have. 2. Euthanize. Luckily for us our little guy has improved a lot since bringing him home from the vet so we didn't have to do either. I know that money and death is part of reality but it's definitely not the only options. Sometimes giving your pet time and attention is what's needed instead. Thank you for reminding us of that!

I was very impressed with 1st Pet Vet Center. To start the facility is very clean and inviting, it’s the nicest vet clinic I’ve been in. The staff was excellent. They were super supportive and made a difficult experience with the death of a pet much better.

Nancy Dienes

So impressed with their care for an emergency that we plan to use them as our regular vet. We had a long wait because other pets were more urgent but they kept us informed and provided snacks.

Dr Dan

Quick to react to emergencies but very expensive. Seem to push for multiple tests costing over $2,000. Sure, it helps the doctors make better informed decisions for treatment, but in many cases these drs have seen the identicle pet issues a thousand times and could give a very accurate diagnosis based on initial examinations. I get it, their in the business to make money and keep your pet alive. Owners need to make their own decisions based on age of pet and health condition and be good parents doing the right thing for the pet based on the pets quality of life and not the owners wishes and hopes. The doctors appear to be very knowledgable, but my pet died under their care do to a lung infection. They administered amoxicillin for it. Okay, not my first choice of antibiotic for a life threatening lung infection, there are far better meds than that which may have saved my pets life. Another time, my pet had experienced symptoms of brain swelling, they wanted to keep her overnight for tests and observation. My question was what test would you administer that would show brain swelling? They said, well the Chandler facility has CT capability. So another smoke screen for more money. Its typical for the industry.

Should be 0 stars. I am beyond disgusted with the staff at 1st Pet Mesa. After falling off the bed on Monday evening, we noticed that Tuesday morning our Cocker Spaniel wasn’t wanting to walk (he would stand for short periods), or jump, or really do any of his normal activities. I called 1st Pet around 8am to see if they had any available appointments. They did not, but I was told I could bring him in on an emergency basis and that they were currently only dealing with one emergency. I understood that could (and probably would) change in a minute, but what I found to be so ridiculous was once my husband arrived there just a short time later, he was taken to a room where my dogs vitals were taken and then he waited 2 hours without anyone acknowledging him. Even if the vet is swamped, it would be nice to get some updates on wait time. He finally walked out to the front desk to ask about the wait, and he said that based on their reactions, he’s pretty certain they forgot he was in there. When they finally saw my dog, they gave him something to sedate him/help with pain while they did an X-ray, then sent him home with pain meds. They told my husband that they thought he had intervertebral disk disease, but that they would be sending the X-rays out and would be calling us later THAT DAY with the results and an exact diagnosis!! Tuesday came and went and they did not call back. Wednesday morning (today) our dog still wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t drink. Just sat propped up against the side of his crate trembling and crying. When we tried to take him outside to go to the bathroom, we realized that he had completely lost the ability to use his back legs. I called the office right away, explained the situation, said how he was much, much worse than yesterday, couldn’t move his back legs, and was told by the receptionist that our file was sitting on the desk with a sticky note on it for the doctor to call us, and that they were very busy with emergencies, but that she would go in the back and “light a fire” to get someone to call. No one called. My husband called again and Jonathan (a vet tech and the only one even slightly helpful in this mess) told us that the vet was still dealing with emergencies, he himself wasn’t able to share the results, and that because it had been over 24 hours since the X-rays were taken, management said we would need to come back in to have those redone - for $125. WE could pay another $125 because THEY didn’t do their job when they said they would. We understood they had emergencies to deal with, but in our minds, this was also an emergency!! Our dog couldn’t use his legs!!! We had been told in that first visit that depending on the results of the X-ray, we might want to consult a neurologist. Well since the emergency vet was too busy and they couldn’t or wouldn’t find another one of their vets to call us with the results, I decided just to go ahead and contact a neurologist - even though I still didn’t know what exactly was going on with my poor dog. So this afternoon I contacted a neurologist in Phoenix and my dog is currently in surgery to repair a ruptured disc. A surgery that is costing me almost $8,000. A surgery that could have been avoided had 1st Pet acted in a timely manner. The neurologist says there is a 75% chance he will regain the use of his back legs. And also that it’s a really good thing we got him in when we did because had we waited much longer - waited on someone at 1st Pet to actually call us back - he most definitely would have lost complete use of his back legs. So if you love your pet (which I know we all do), I’d highly recommend finding a different vet.

This place use to be the best. They've taken care of 3 of my dogs. Very caring. Today was told 3 hr wait so we waited. 3 hours go by I go out front and ask them how much longer they couldn't tell me. If they don't want walk in's they should say no walk in's. My doxie has an impacted anal gland. I didn't want it to burst evidently it wasn't an emergency this time but 3 times before when they treated her it was and she got right in. Oh well just wasted 3 hrs today and my dog was stressed out waiting that long. She is 15 years old.

Suz John

My dog was attacked while we were on a walk on a Sunday morning at 6 am. I am new to the area and only knew about 1st Pet because I work nearby. Everyone there was supportive and considerate. They took great care of my dog and even offered me something to clean my own wounds that I received during the fight. Because they are available my dog is feeling better today. Thanks to 1st Pet.

Andrea Perina

Very pleased, so happy I can take my dog here and no he will be taking care of. Dr. April is absolutely amazing with my dog! Thank u so much again!

Holly Pusateri

I have brought many of my dogs to this location, and one thing I must stress: IT TAKES FOREVER! It doesn’t matter if you schedule an appointment or come in for an emergency visit, be prepared to wait. Then wait some more. Then, just when you think they’ve forgotten you there, a vet tech comes in to get vitals, then leaves to get the vet. Wait a (long) while and the vet will come in. The staff is friendly, they listen and ask a lot of questions and provide you options, but unfortunately after sitting in a room for 2 hours with my dog, I’m just not in the mood.

Sharon Harmon

Caring and informative staff. My dog usually needs muzzled at the vet, but they were able to do everything without it. I will definitely bring my dog here again if needed.

Carla Rush

I have had to bring my 17 year old Jack Russell here a few times during the last couple of years. They are always great with him and I get the assistance I need fairly quickly. They not only follow up with you the next day or so, but the records are also sent to the regular vet's office.

Cherie Ladas

Extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. So thankful but we went there.

Linda McGuire

Dr. Was very helpful and took care to explain everything to me. She really cared about my dog and made us both feel comfortable. Thank you!

Ellen Frezzi

Love this place. The staff are always friendly and on the ball. The Doctors are awesome, and they are reasonably priced even the emergencies.

Amy Solis

We took our beloved chihuahua there Friday morning. He was instantly taken to the oxygen chamber, he had congestive heart failure so we knew his time was up. The staff was so unbelievably caring and sympathetic to the grief we were feeling having to put our baby down. In addition, a few days after the fact we realized we wanted to bring our baby’s ashes home. They were so helpful contacting the crematory to see if that was still a possibility. It was and they made it happen for us. Although our experience was a sad one, the staff we encountered were absolutely amazing. Thank you!

Diane Cecena

Our little family member, Oscar, got seriously ill this last Monday. My husband and I brought him to this facility and from the moment we walked in he had immediate attention and love. The staff was amazing and helped so much by making sure we had all the information we needed to make a decision for our precious 15 year old boy. It is not easy because they can't speak for themselves. All the staff we had the pleasure to work with that night was wonderful. We Thank you for making a difficult situation easier.

Sobeida Enriques

Today my Mother decided to take her dog into this facility and what transpired while she was there was absolutely heart breaking.. As she was in the waiting room she had over heard a hysterical phone conversation with the receptionist and a woman that was coming to this facility as an emergency for her animal. Once the woman arrived she parked at the front crying for someone to come and assist her with her dog that was lying lifeless in her back seat. None of the women at the front tried to assist her by going outside. The woman then comes running inside hysterical, crying, for someone to help her and yet again, no one helped her. My mother then proceeded to go outside and help this stranger who was clearly in a panic and in need of assistance because her pet was in desperate need of medical attention. My mother and the woman proceeded to carry a full size (75/80lbs at least) Doberman into the office. Still, no one assisted them and they had to lay the dog down infront of the front desk. When my mom asked if they were going to help her, their response was “no one is trained up front” and “they are required to get a gurney”. This is beyond being “trained”, this is a matter of being a decent human being and helping someone when they are in dire need. After this, my mother was no longer comfortable with them treating her dog due to their lack of care and empathy for the woman who was in despite need of their help. She had asked them to return her dog 10 times and instead they had two people attempt to “explain” to her what had happened. There was no need for that because it was clear that this office does not care for their animal patients that come into their office. Before she was returned her dog, she was required to pay for the “office exam” that was $110.00 but that was never performed. Our family dog was never seen or assessed by a Vet in the office. We do not recommend this facility to anyone and if the women in the front are not “trained” to assist in emergencies, this should be something they should highly consider. As well as hiring people that have some type of care for their career and the people and animals that come into their office daily; emergency and non emergency alike.

Carol Sabo

The minute I walked through the door with my little dog the front desk personnel took my concerns about potential poisoning due to dark chocolate ingestion very seriously and triaged him into treatment immediately! The staff were very courteous and explained everything they were going to do. The treatment was successful, and my sweet little dog had all the chocolate purged from his stomach and never suffered any ill effects. The cost was very reasonable for the services received. I’m glad they were there!

Nicole Temple

I had my coco for 14 years before I had to lay her to rest. This staff is amazing. They made her comfortable so we were comfortable. They sent me a condolences card and everyone that worked with us signed it. I would highly recommend them to anyone

Victoria Jensen

Doctors and techs were amazing. They did everything possible when we came in and ended up saving my puppies life! We had only had her for a few hours and she crashed so quickly. We got in and she was nonresponsive. They were on top of it from the second we walked though those doors at 1am in the morning! They saved her life! A little high in price, but it is to be expected for a 24/7 vet. They have to pay their people somehow. Even after having to sign a decline of care form because of money, they still did as much as possible to get her better. Awesome and Dr. Deer is AMAZING!

Amanda Beatrice

Always amazing service from the whole staff! Not only have they always been great to my little guy, but they have always been great to my best friend. Last year she lost her Queensland heeler, and the staff was so great with her. Not only did they go above in beyond in that situation but they actually comforted her afterwards. Not just the whole I am sorry for your loss. Dr. Waldo has been great to me and her, we do not plan on going anywhere else ever.

April Garcia

I appreciate the response. Thank you.

Jeff Higgins

The staff at first pet vet are very professional and courteous and knowledge a bowl they make not only you feel comfortable but they make your pet feel very comfortable so it’s not as much stress on them they did a fantastic job with my dog and I made future appointments for the rest of my pets thank you to all the staff at first Pet vet

slanginsound

This place is brilliant ! Waiting rooms are private! Ambiance is relaxing ! You can tell staff truly cares !

Shannon Bender

Everyone here from start to finish had been so warm, caring, compassionate with my pet as well as myself. I was a hot mess. They made me feel at ease. Thank you.

brenda ervin

Such kind hearted people during a difficult time. Would highly recommend to anyone. Burial box was a beautiful touch it meant alot.

Derek Williams

I took my loved one in to be seen Saturday they gave me a diagnosis of a chipped tooth an abscess I called to set up a surgery which they said I needed and once I did that they tell me I need another consultation which they wanted to charge me again on top of the to hunt $2,000 for the surgery this place as a money-sucking rip off

Daniela Medel

Professional and compassionate. I had my pet put down at this location. They sent me a card in the mail with their condolences. That was so thoughtful!

Lauri W

I called to find out how much it would cost to have my pup see cause he's very ill. The guy who answered the phone was the most rudest person who has no business working in a animal environment! I'm trying to see since they wanted all the cash up front, how much the initial visit would be plus any type of testing and he refused to give me the information on the testing cost and hung up on me. Planning to get my very ill pup somewhere else who actually want to help animals and there owners instead of making an already stressful situation more stressful. Shame on you rude man, you need to find another job.

LELE BD

Always the best care you can get in case of emergency or with your regular visit with your cat or dog. Kind experienced personnel and affordable prices. Waiting time is sometimes a bit longer than we like it.

Katrina Flores

1st Pet made us feel so comfortable when we had to put our beloved dog to sleep they are very caring and very understanding.

Jessica Stotts

The vet was in another procedure so we had a little bit of a wait, but other than that I have no complaints!! They took really good care of my pup and made sure we had snacks, drinks, magazines to help pass time, and whatever else we needed during our wait. Amazing center, so glad we came here. I will definitely be recommending 1st Pet (Mesa) to all my friends and family!

John Jimenez

Took my dog there for services. No appointment ,and I was expecting long wait. I was told about three hours. Ok. Took 1 hour to get into a room, and then waited 4 hours with no follow-up until I asked. Was told it would be another 2 or hours or longer.

Joshua Furman

Everything is always great! The staff are so friendly, the facilities are clean and modern. I would not go anywhere else.

Daniel Cardenas

Very reasonable pricing $125 base for emergency visit, $60 for scheduled vaccines vist, $75 base for scheduled visit for any other reason. Much less than Alta Mesa, where I used to take my pets. 1st pet is my new regular vet. Great caring, knowledgeable, and empathetic staff and doctors. They were very kind and understanding when I lost my little Bella. Had to take my Peanut in for an unscheduled vist and there was a bit of a wait so they brought in a basket of complimentary beverages and snacks. I have never seen anything like it.

Colorfulwings Journal

This month, December 2018, the er vet saved my cat Greta and turned around her renal failure crash and took great care of our Dobie Rhea after a trash eating incident. So very thankful and grateful! Everyone was great! Keep up the great work!

Megan Strand

I appreciated how kind everyone was and the facility was beautiful and comfortable. My husband and I were impressed with the hospitality.

Corey Sauceda

1st pet is the 2nd Vet ive been to, and was a great option. Very helpful front desk, and Dr Lindgren is the Best !

Amanda An

We had to take my 7 month old pup in this evening after he cut himself on our metal screen door. Our little town doesn’t have an after hour or 24 hour emergency care. My husband and I were both pleased with how clean the facility was and how nice and caring ever staff member was during our stay. Everyone was so accommodating while our pup was in the back for surgery, they offered blankets and brought us a snack basket.

Wes N

Place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. DR UNDERHILL AND STAFF ARE PHENOMENAL. They heard all my concerns and told me what it was. She did the procedure in the the room so we could be with our dog. They even treated my 3 kids (8 and under) like people, which goes a long way with me. Snacks were a big plus to. This place was expensive but definitely well worth it for the best care WAY TO GO DR UNDERHILL AND STAFF.

Nick Flowers

First time here was for an emergency visit but after that we decided to come here for appointments instead of where we were going. The staff is very friendly and very loving of animals. They try to make it the beat experience they can, and will accommodate for years and dislikes of your pet. Foe the humans who come in, it's very clean and very well organized. You get a basket of free snacks and small cold drinks. Overall, they love what they do and it's got to be one of the most well organized, well run pet clinics. Definitely recommend.

jodi hekter

We signed up for a care plan for $395 last year and it covered most preventative stuff and vaccines but they try to sell you everything under the sun! And if your dog has an emergency they can never get you in during regular hours (even at the other locations ) so if you take your pet in during emergency hours they charge you a fortune and try to once again sell you everything under the sun! When you can’t afford hundreds or thousands of dollars they make you feel like you don’t love your dog. I asked for a refill on some meds and they said they can’t unless I bring him in again for a full battery of tests. No thanks! I’ve already found another vet that was way less and seemed to actually want to get to the bottom of the issue and not charge me an arm and a leg! I love my dog like nobody else but I can’t afford thousands of dollars in tests and I shouldn’t have to.

Monica Stone

Brandon our technician always great !!, btw thank you for your patient and care with my baby. This time, me, Thorr's Mom outside of town, so this one was particularly stressful ....Want to relay my trust in the front desk assistant putting notes for Thorr's chart. One, for payment " all set up" and also for the details that matters, because this time....was not completed, my Mom and my son leave the office with out THE MEDICATION "what I suppose to have for Thorr". and was a very specific and short my notes in front desk......pick up medication ready, draw blood, stool sample, and payment. Better and pro active communication between front desk to the technician and doctors. Because I know I'm not the only Mom out of town leaving my fur baby in hands of other ones no very familiarized with this process. Check list before check out and pay resolve things, right there in the moment!!

Carol Schro

Service is always fast, efficient and with great care towards my animals. Love this place!

Tamera Sellers

Called this emergency vet because I was worried about my dog who has Diabetes , they said they would have a vet tech call me right back and I never got a call back!!! I found out they don't have your pets best interest in mind!! Would never go there after being treated like my dog is insignificant!!! And not to mention the front desk staff is extremely rude and there is really no excuse for a professional pet Care facility to treat people who are already upset in a totally nasty manner!!! Nothing you can say to excuse that behavior!!! I could go on but I won't!!!!!

Shawn Wehrspann

Had awesome experience. Thank you. Highly recommend!

Veronica Cowdrey

Dr. Waldo and staff are very caring.. I had to put one of my Maltese down after a heart condition, and their support was amazing. Now I have a new pup and she loves it there.

stephanie wong

After waiting at another emergency vet clinic for four hours (to getting drops for my dogs pink eye on a holiday weekend), I ended up finding 1st Pet. I got in quickly and saw a doctor a few minutes after arriving. Shortly after that they treated my dog and got me out quickly. The staff was amazing and the facility was extremely nice. I am so happy to have for such a wonderful emergency animal hospital.

Charles Thomas

Great place to take your furry love one in an emergency

Nicole Dungy

Our 11 year old boxer/pit mix, Khloe, had a sudden anaphylactic reaction from an unknown source. She vomited, became pale, cold, and collapsed. We rushed her in and Dr. Begay assessed her right away and began IV fluids. Dr. Begay knew exactly what it was and treated appropriately. The overnight doctor Dr. Robinson was just as amazing. She called me in to discuss findings on the scans they did. They also allowed us to walk her around outside and visit. Each doctor thoroughly explained the process, options, and cost. The techs and front desk staff were so amazing too as they frequently checked on us, fed us, ensured we had water, and showed true compassion. The office was gorgeous and calming. As a nurse, I know a good medical team when I see one. The staff here are one of a kind and deserve all the praise in the world! We can’t thank you enough!!! Khloe was in amazing hands here! We would bring her back in a heart beat if we had to (sorry guys but I would rather not bring her back hehe

John Vallee

Called when my little chi got bitten by my big dog. Called and they were waiting at the door for me. Could not thank them enought for saving my baby Quick and professional.

Courtney Litchenberg

I had to take my little dog here the other night and I was in hysterics! They made everything run smoothly and made both my dog and myself comfortable. The cost was beyond fair and they also gave me a follow up call the next day! This hospital genuinely just cares about animals and the staff is wonderful

Jennifer Tamayo

Long wait 6 hours..my beautiful Whitey Ford died this morning.. bloodwork showed nothing on Friday night...he was stumbling this morning and he died on the way to another vet visit... I am heartbroken...the girls at front desk kept messing his name up..

Sean Johnson

Horrible experience here. All the negative reviews about this place taking a very long time and being very expensive are 100% correct. I realize the clinic being after hours is going to have to charge a little more to remain profitable, this doesn't bother me. The issue I had with this place is the following: It took forever to see a vet. The price I was given was more than double several other estimates I received at offices the following day, and the price I ultimately paid to have a wound stitched up. As I said, I didn't mind paying a little more for after hours treatment, however more than double is just greedy in my opinion. The biggest problem I have is it cost me 125.00 just to ask the question of how much to do the job. While some issues with a pet require substantial analysis to determine treatment, my case did not. The vet spent less than 5 minutes with the dog to tell me what I already knew, " the dog needs sedated and the wound needs cleaned and stitched with a course of antibiotics" This office believes that a three minute look at a cut requires 125.00. To me this is just a gouge tactic to push people into paying the outrageous fee, I mean your already in it for the 125, dont want to go somewhere else, and pay two office fees, so guess you better just pay it. However on principle I did not ... I paid the 125.00 got absolutely nothing for it and I went to another office and had the wound taken care of for less than half the price.... Long story short ... Unless your worried your pet may die through out the night, dont bother with this place. And if you do go, just know, you won't be treated fair and you'll pay the price, likely more than double what a typical office would charge. And,,, don't forget, if you decide to go somewhere else, you'll still owe the 125, regardless of how long the vet spends on your pet... Gouge

Brent Chandler

Our visit to 1st Pet was an emergency this time. The staff were extremely professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable in assessing our dog's situation. We received help immediately! Thank you for being there for us 1st Pet in this very stressful situation! We would recommend you to anyone!

Jonni Padilla

Everything went amazingly well. It was the best vet experience I've ever had. The doctor was very helpful at assisting my pet in the best and most affordable way.

Dog

This place is wonderful. It's high class without super high price. My dog Ripley had pneumonia, which required xrays, an iv, blood work to make sure it wasn't valley fever and this was all an emergency visit. It cost me out the door $630. with medications and everything. I was surprised. I really thought it was going to be so much more once the vet dropped the word x-ray. The wonderful thing is they break it down for you before treatment so you know what things costs. Also, you as pet parents get kind of pampered with a basket of goodies to munch on while you wait. I would highly recommend taking your pet to this clinic as they care about your pet and you as a pet parent.

Buddy Thompson

The whole staff, receptionists, technicians, and the veterinarians who we interacted with, were both professional and compassionate, eager to accommodate and inform at every opportunity. The facilities, including reception area, examination rooms, and backroom kennel areas were comfortable and immaculate. Most importantly, Dr. Deer saved our dog's (Lucy) life, not once, but twice. She performed life-saving emergency surgery on Lucy for bloat. During the surgery she found and informed us of a large cancerous tumor on Lucy's liver that subsequently was successfully removed (at a different, non-emergency facility). Taking your beloved pet to an emergency clinic is always stressful, if not traumatic, but the people at 1st Pet in Mesa made our experience as comfortable as possible.

Lauren Riggs

My cat, Sheldon, is very skittish and is scared of new people but he trusted the staff right away. I'm a firm believer that animals can sense things and the fact that he was perfectly okay with them poking and prodding at him I believe is a good sign. They took very good care of him and of me as well. They reassured me that he was just suffering from kitty cold and he would be okay. Treatments were recommended but not pushed and they told me what was most important for him that day and what could wait if he didn't get better. I felt such a sense of relief after seeing them. They are definitely our vet if anything should happen in the future. And i'm happy to report that he's feeling much better today! Thank you to the staff at 1st Pet for taking such good care of my baby!!!!

Donna Johnson

I was there once before about 3 wks ago with my 10 y/o lab mix...acute bladder infection...great care. Then, I took my other dog there yesterday (newish to the area...no established vet yet). He was dripping pink tinged pus from above his rectum all day & having periodic pain (a sharp, sudden jolt/yelp would make him jump out of sleep and look at his backside every 15-20 minutes). He’s a Cavalier/sloth mix & normally sleeps through anything. DR MARQUIS saw him. She was abrupt, condescending & a horrible listener! It was as if she heard the opposite of whatever I said - me:”he’s a little chubby so he’s unable to reach or lick back there at all” dr m “he needs an e-collar” me: “why an e-collar?” dr m: “for the incessant licking” later? I described what was happening - just that day - in his sleep & she said “ if something was really bothering him he wouldn’t be able to sleep in the first place… he’s probably just dreaming”. Me: I know my dog. The yelping & jumping up out of sleep like something had bitten his bum is new today & not at all normal for him & is why I’m here” dr m “again. if something was REALLY that bad he wouldn’t be able to sleep & he’s just dreaming” (yeah - there is no such thing as sharp, shooting, episodic pain

I really did not want to be one of the negative reviews on here, but it's necessary. When I called the center to explain my dog's symptoms, I was told I should bring her, (Lilly), in promptly. Given that she is 120lbs, I had to wait until my husband could get off work to assist with getting Lilly into our vehicle. This made our arrival at the center around 6 pm. Our visit began pleasantly enough. We were checked in promptly and seated in a private exam room with a snack basket. It was explained to us that it was a busy evening and we may have up to a two hour wait. An assistant came in shortly, however, and took Lilly's vitals. She then also brought her back to the veterinarian for a quick check, who we were told was able to do an ultrasound at that time, as Lilly has a massively distended abdomen. The assistant returned our dog and told us that as soon as the vet had a minute, she would come and let us know what she found. That was it. Over the course of the next few hours, we were occasionally visited by an assistant or receptionist who would inform us that another emergency came in, or it would be a bit longer. Oh yeah, did I mention that we had our 2 year old daughter with us? I understand how emergency rooms work, but it was beyond absurd for us to be passed over for 5 HOURS! Particularly since they already had done testing and simply had to take a few minutes to discuss the findings with us. We watched 2 non emergency dogs be admitted and released across the hall from us while we desperately tried to entertain our toddler for a ridiculously long time to be confined. I am deeply saddened to have spent so much wasted time, and still have no answers for my aiming Lilly. Now we have to find somewhere else and do it all over again.

Suzy Graffa

Top quality care, compassion and respect for not only the animals but for their families as well. Wonderful Place!

Antoinette Romero

They are really friendly and genuinely concerned when you bring your pet in. I have had to bring both my dogs at different times for different reasons and every time this office has made the process a little less stressful. They are pricey but in my case I had no other options, and I was grateful they were available.

Jane Wilson

We needed another shot for our pet to stay at PetSmart Hotel, even though our vet didn't consider it necessary due to our dog's age. This facility was close to our vacation home and they were able to get us in quickly. I loved being in the exam room with the care providers and it was a nice surprise bonus to be offered treats for me and our dog.

Larry Stover

This place was very professional at the worst time in our lives we had to put down our Bulldog after 11 years and we could not have picked a better place very very professional and kind.

Sarah Goedicke

They are cat certified, which means they've taken steps to make things far less stressful for your feline. They always have our room prepped before we show up for our laser therapy, and they are efficient for recurring treatments. They also send weekly updates over to my primary care vet so I don't have to worry about getting records sent back and forth!

Renee Bertola

Excellent service. Kind and gentle technicians.

Craig Hutton

I love this place. Really nice staff. Very happy I brought my dog here. It has been over a year now and truly appreciate how nice they are here.

Nori and Friends

Emergency overnight services helped my puppy and took her straight back, thank you for the help at 2am. Staff was really good to us.

Meaghan Olmstead

I have never met such an all around genuine vet office! Additionally, finding a truly caring team that did not over charge was a huge plus! Thank you for taking care of my Fitzy kitty!

My older dog was throwing up, and couldn't stand up on her own. At 4am in the morning the staff said come In right now. Very pleased with the caring staff and the doctor. Best care we have seen. Explained procedures and medications prescribed. We highly recommend.

I called concerned about my newborn puppies and the mom. The mom wasn’t resting so thought maybe she had a puppy stuck in her or needed to birth out some placenta. I told the lady who answered that one of the puppies in particular looked really weak, and that I wanted the puppies checked too because the mom had sat on them, and I wanted them checked to make sure no damage was done. The lady Reluctantly said I could come in after her attempts to pursuade me otherwise. So I drove the long drive in at 3:30 in the morning. I got there, they did an X-ray of the momma, and put the puppies in an incubator because they weren’t as warm as they should have been. They came back and said momma’s calcium levels were fine, and they showed no sign of anything needing to be birthed out. They suggested bottle feeding if I was worried about the mom since she was anxious and getting frustrated with the puppies squeeling. So I went home, now the sun is coming up, and not an hour later the second biggest puppy died out of nowhere. Then maybe a few hours later another puppy died. I rushed back, luckily my mom was driving, as I did cpr on the puppy for 35 plus minutes. I ran into the vet, and they didn’t even acknowledge me as I was holding a lifeless puppy!!!! I spoke up really loud so they would pay attention, and they said do you want us to try to revive it? I said, “well yeah of course!!!!” Then they take my puppy from me, and come over a minute later and say they need me to sign a paper that charges anywhere from $500-$800 to do cpr!!!!! I am not wealthy at all, so I had to say no. I told them I was there earlier, and that I don’t think they checked my puppies out, and that now 2 puppies have died since I left, and I have only three left. I needed them looked at ASAP because I didn’t want to lose them too. They took my puppies, put them in an incubator and then finally got to me 3 HOURS LATER!!! I had to go find someone to tell them my puppies needed food because it had been 3 plus hours since they had them, my other puppies already died, and they are newborns and NEED FOOD!!! They then said they would feed them, but then came out with the puppies in hand, and gave them to us to feed. I asked what the test results were because I thought maybe they had low blood sugar, and they only told me they weren’t warm enough, and only talked about the temperature. They said just keep them warm and feed them every 2 hours. And guess what?!!! All three of my puppies died after we got home!!! They did absolutely nothing to help, and now $800 later, over 5 plus hours spent there waiting between the two visits, I have ZERO puppies!!! My poor babies weren’t a priority to them, and other dogs were. Never take your puppies here unless you want them to die!

EDIT: JANAE was the one who laughed at my girlfriend while holding our dead cat. When I went back to try to have the situation resolved an employee (patrick) told me they are allowed to get personal info from someone other than the applicant(social security numbers, birthdays) for financing without the individual "applying"even consenting. This seems immoral and illegal to me, totally felt like a high pressure used car sales. The person who answered the phone for the "24 hour emergency vet" could not tell my GF where they were located then told her that she should Google it (as she is trying to drive our injured cat to the location). Why do you answer the phone at an emergency medical facility if you don't know where you're even located? At least one of the employees laughed at my GF as she was holding our dead cat. When we were done saying our goodbyes to our loved one who had passed, I got Dr Butler and told them we were ready and instead of preparing our loved one for cremation they instead send two people in to double team her about the bill like the worst used car schtick I've ever seen AS she was holding our passed loved one :/ They also tried to get me (several times and even after explaining the situation) to enter my GFs personal info (SS #, Bday, etc) into their computer for financing AS she is holding and crying with her loved one who had passed minutes before. They kept pushing me like they didn't care AT ALL about fraud liability. Highest pressure "sales" situation I've ever been in... All while our kitty wasn't even taken care of :/ she was left in my GFs hands during this whole conversation. I could go on for days... It was a traumatizing experience. Absolutely terrible. We have a $5k debt and I don't even have the comfort of knowing everything was done for our loved one. Who takes your money for medical service then laughs at you as your holding your lifeless loved one in your arms??? Wicked, evil people work here.
