Took my Honey for an emergency visit. The staff and doctors were great. Keepted me calmed with my baby girls procedure

The care is good but the wait times are horrible! I have been here with an appointment three times with a newly adopted puppy. Each time it has been well over an hour to even get seen. As of this writing, I am sitting in the waiting room. My appointment was for 3:30 and it is currently 5:00...sigh...

I have been going here for years I even adopted my dog from north shore. Setting an appointment has improved in that now someone actually picks up the phone but they are still very busy and if you need to see a specialist like a cardiologist they are only available once a week on a weekday. Prices don’t really differ that much from the regular vet. I would avoid going on weekends especially saturdays, I waited 3 hours and then they rushed the exam when I was actually seen that my pet was uncomfortable and extremely fidgety from waiting so long . The front receptionist especially the ones that have been there the longest have the worst attitude and they are extremely rude and unprofessional. I say find another vet not associated with a shelter like this one if you want your pet to have a more attentive and through visit.

I’ve been bringing in my pets for the past 7 years! I even adopted my dog from them. The care we received from my adopted puppy who came down with a bad case of bronchitis was the absolute best. To this day, they continue to care for Chloe. Every single vet & vet tech we have seen goes above & beyond every single time! I highly recommend bringing your pets to them, the prices & care cannot be found anywhere else!!!! Thank you for always taking such good care of my pets!!!

Prices are UP, no longer the place to go. We have always loved supporting The NSAL....Things have really taken a turn for the worst , If we want to pay top dollar, do yourself a favor and stay local...We used to drive from Huntington with all of our pets, the pricing was fair and the service was good...Things have changed on both accounts.. The experience used to be great, the waiting room full of animals, you waited, but you didn’t mind because the pricing was reasonable and the people were friendly....it makes me sad to see this once kind and humane facility, turn into just another money grabbing machine..

We adopted our dog at NSAL and went there for follow up visits. the prices are high, but the first 2 weeks, the care was covered because she was being seen for an existing illness. But to make an appointment, I have been on hold for over 30 mins on the phone. The place is very poorly run and some of the front desk employees are rude. I called with questions about a medication and transferred myself to the pharmacy, the person there sent me back on hold for the receptionist! Told me that they can give me answers. Really??? Not going back to them anymore.

Jackie Townes

Caring, friendly people. Pet healthcare is expensive no matter where you go, but I think $60 for a booster shot for a cat is less than most vets charge. Will definitely be going back.

I felt like it use to be great but for the past two years they've become worst with the wait time and service. I waited over 40 mins and we had an appointment. It use to be much quicker, the maximum I use to wait was like 10-15mins

My dog got hurt going down a flight of stairs and she started limping. I obviously thought she had fractured something so I immediately began to call various animal hospital’s all of which priced an X-ray to be $300-$500, insane, yes! I remembered a friend of mine had a similar issue years ago with her dog so I called to ask where she had taking her daughter dog, and she referred me to the north shore animal league due to its low cost services. I called early in the morning and they were able to squeeze me in for a 1pm appointment (very grateful) . Although the wait was very long, I arrived at 12:40 and didn’t see the vet until after 2. I wish the vet would’ve been more thorough with his examination, he didn’t hear her heart/breathing, didn’t check her ears or anything, they just took her straight to get the X-rays . The entire consultation was only $200. Including 2 X-rays, medication and consolation charge. If you’re looking for a low cost animal hospital , I highly recommend them!!! Hope this helps!

Friendly employees, clean and inviting environment. Only complaint is wait time. Appointment is at a certain time however you are kept waiting over an hour to be seen. Happened to me multiple times. Plan to spend up to 3 hours.

A short wait but worth it . Giving back to charity helping homeless animals get on their way to forever homes . Definitely cheaper than retail vets . Also has small pet store on grounds . Plenty of poop bags available free . My dog received 3 shots and didn't even whimper. Instant rebates on heartgaurd medicine. Worth the drive . Plenty of parking .

Avoid veterinarian Gamal Yousry at all costs! Two word comes to mind, MALPRACTICE and UNETHICAL. Yousry proceeded to see my dog w negligent professional treatment. He did not review the chart or take into consideration owners requests and proceed to inject my dog with unauthorized vaccines. When asked to stop, he simply said, "its okay, it's done now." Yousry also solicited his own business, separate from North Shore Animal League for Boarding. Extremely unprofessional. Pure disappointment. Never returning.
