We have all the information of real people like you who used the products of Colchester Veterinary Hospital (Veterinarian) in Alaska.
Now this business gets a rating of 4.6 over 5 and this score has been calculated on 123 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is practically the best one, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we can be quite sure that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is included in the category of Animal hospital.
Echoing many other reviews on this site, it's not the quality of the service of the vets which is an issue, it's the cost and push for meds and vaccinations. I get it. I want my pets as healthy as possible, but I could do without the push. The staff, and quite frankly, the docs don't talk about cost when administering the meds. At the end of the visit, you feel like you've been nickeled and dimed as each charge is added up. Worse, I once asked for the next available appointment time for a visit and they charged me for an emergency visit.
This is a very busy place however they do a great job. We use Dr. Walker and think he is great. Prices are reasonable
My experience depends in which dr. we see. There are only 2 Dr. I would consider making am appointment with because they know how to handle a sweet dog without freaking him out. My dog is 100% terrified of the vet now because of 1 dr who didn't. He was fine until this one doctor decided to muzzle him in order to "distract" him. There was literally no other reason for it, he wasn't be aggressive or growling he was just being a good boy. All the muzzle did was freak him out. Once that happened he jumped around trying to get away from the Dr. who was giving him a vaccine. I have never seen a needle go so far into a dogs leg (what looked to me as very wrong) she pretty much stabbed him. Along with this he was once treated in the parking lot. Which is very unprofessional. When they tried to take his temp he nearly ran away. And the price of that visit was insane especially so because he wasn't even in the building! We paid to have our dog treated by professionals not sit in a parking lot hoping our pup wouldn't freak out enough to book it down the road. Anyway now that I've said the bad I will say we wont stop going there because like I said there are a couple really good doctors there who know what they are doing and we actually like. As long as you have an appointment with one of them all is good.
Excellent service, caring and knowledgeable staff. Can't say enough good things about this place. They are also affordable. I won't take my dogs anywhere else. They were so patient and kind during my dogs ACL repair and recovery! Dr. D. Busch is wonderful and I've never had a bad experience with the covering veterinarians.
I love them, the Drs are great. Friendly staff, clean with reasonable prices.
Fit me in on a Saturday, first time there with my pet, very nice caring staff. Very reasonable. Paid less than half what I expected, for meds & shots.
The removed a bone stuck in my dogs mouth. Clutch. They are open later than most vets
I have brought my cats to Colchester Veterinary Hospital for 18 years. They are always accommodating, kind and friendly.
Have been taking my animals here for 20 years. Always get a same day appointment if needed. You can ask questions without having to make an appointment like some human physicians that always want you to make an appointment to ask a simple question. Prices are reasonably low compared to other bets. Has grown a lot with a lot of new vets being added to the practice.
Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. I've been using this Vet for 30 years.
Moved here from CO, wanted to get adopted dog up to date with current shots, etc. Fast service, friendly staff, HOWEVER, felt like being in front of sales lady (Dr. Crowther), " you need this, you need that, everything shoved down my throat. She didn't ask if there were any issues with my dog, just started selling. She even said, " I dont mean to sound like a salesperson..." TOO LATE! Came back today for 2nd round of Lyme vaccine, she told me last month (when I asked her how much) $26. She made no mention of additional $32 2nd office charge. QUITE UNFAIR! Today she approached the conversation of monthly Heartguard med, by saying "he is at the 52 lb dosage & if he loses a few pounds, I feel it is a safe medication." That's all! That's her approach instead of asking, " Do you want us to supply the medication, today" In billing area I was handed the heartguard med and an additional $98 charge. I have worked in the customer service arena for over 40 years & except for ladies behind the counter, COLCHESTER VET HOSPITAL needs some classes, your system is broken. I will be seeking another vet who cares about my dog and I. Good bye!
Love them!
Wont use any other vet..I LOVE THIS VET!!
Some of the most caring and understanding vets we've seen. Our dogs are always treated well. Even though it was a bit of a drive, there's no where else I'd rather take my fur babies. We've used this vet for surgeries, emergencies, every day appointments and even when we had to have our dog put to sleep. They are amazing.
The vets that come into the room are amazing, caring professional all around great. The "crew" at the desk however are snobby, snarky, entitled and act like teenagers very childish. They clearly do not like animals!!! Every time we go there they act like your inconveniencing them to take our money and let us leave.
Fantastic service. My dog passed this year but their veterinarians took incredible care of her until her last days . Even her body they handled in the end. We are forever grateful.
Very helpful with our first time kitten
Really great vets....only didn't get 5 stars cause vets are expensive

Best Vet in Ct!!!
Wowed, the veteran here is the best ever, saved my Son's dog, Maggiemae, wouldn't suggest going anywhere else
To keep it short and simple, the office staff is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. We brought our puppy here for an "emergency" visit because it was a holiday. The vet seemed competent, but also unprofessional. We felt rushed and unimportant. We will not return and do not recommend this office.
Very kind people. Recommend.
Best animal vet hospital and staff ever
Great Team Dr. Geer is wonderful, straight forward with respect to your descions.
I luv Colchester Veterinary, I won't let any other place take care of my dogs. They are the greatest & full of compassion.
I drive 30 miles to this place. Why? Because they care about my pets, are spot on with their diagnosis and are fair with with their fees.
Good place
I was treated with absolute contempt by one of the vet techs, a woman named Jen. She made no effort to hide the disgust she felt at the way I cared for my dog. Without knowing anything about my situation, she made faces and talked to me in such a condescending tone that my fiancee left the room in tears. The last visit we had at that vet was to put down our girl Sable, and it was so hard and so heartbreaking, it was beyond difficult to walk back into that room. Jen made an extremely painful vet visit so much harder. Perhaps you should work on extending some compassion towards the people who pay for your services, and leave your judgments about their choices aside. You never know what someone is going through.
W ouldnt trust our family's health to anyone else. We have lost 2 dogs over several years and they have helped manage that experience as well as their years of happiness with kindness, compassion and skill.
They have caring and loving staff. Glad we found them..

Have been going there for several years now. I have 3 cats and a dog and the staff handles them so well. Prices are incredibly reasonable too. It's worth the 30 minute drive based on my experiences at nearby clinics.
Caring and personable staff, outstanding knowledgeable doctors.
Make an appointment. The wait can be a bit long, but the clinic is clean and the staff are friendly. It is a little on the expensive side, but your pet will receive excellent care when visiting. Plenty of parking and their hours are very convenient.
Alway pleasant, helpful and caring.
I made an appointment to get a 2nd opinion and was so impressed with everyone that I decided it was worth the extra drive to make them my primary veterinarian. I feel like my fur baby is in safe hands with these wonderful, caring, people.
I would recommend going here if you want to feel like you're a number and want the "quick in and out" service. However, if thats the case, I would suggest going to Banfield (much cheaper).
They are a bit expensive, but when it comes to getting the best care for my cat and dog Colchester Vet is # 1.
They are great with my two "kids" (dogs). There is not a long wait.
Excellent care. Very accomodating.
Friendly staff and the visits haven't been too expensive. Also the waiting room is kept clean. A but of an older building though and could use modernizing
The reception area is welcoming and clean...the clerical staff are caring, sweet and quite efficient. I can't say enough about the Doctors and tech staff. Though checkout always seems a bit slow, it's a breath of fresh air to walk in - sometimes under extreme stress - and know full well that these people truly love their jobs and deeply care about your pet!
Very friendly staff and also inexpensive! Would recommend to anyone.
Such caring and wonderful staff! I have made many visits here for my two cats and only had one "off" experience, which could have been due to the volume of clients there that day. Everyone is so nice! If you come here often, do consider getting their app to save yourself some money in the future. They operate a rewards program that my cat is gladly racking up by getting into trouble. :)
Love them.
Great place friendly staff and doctors.
Love this place. Everybody is friendly and Vets are top notch. Reasonably priced too.
I have brought my pets here for almost 30 years. They are the best doctors and have the most reasonable fees. I would recommend them to everyone looking for service.
I can't praise this group enough! All staff and doctors are so friendly and professional. I have moved to Florida and I have not found any veterinarian that can come close. You handle your office like a regular medical facility. Miss you all and thank you for all the years of caring service.
Dr. Bernard saved my dog’s life. And Dr. David Busch is excellent too. A great area vet that I feel is a little more reasonable as well money-wise.
We always have a nice experience at this vet clinic. We have a Saint Bernard, and a cat. The doctors and staff are friendly, and prompt. I rarely have to wait for an appointment, and the services are reasonably priced. ☺️
Thay all where good for what they do
Awesome veterinary hospital.
Very nice people and affordable
The staff is very knowledgeable, they listen to what you have to say . Their Great with our dog Lucy
I have used this Vet Hospital for all pets ever since I moved to the Town of Colchester 21 years ago. Having a medically compromised dog, it's important to know they have long practice hours, that include weekends. Charges are reasonable with a caring staff. I highly recommend them.

Had a pet emergency and couldn't get my cat in anywhere near me so i called them and i was in immediately. They saved my kitty's life ♡
This is a great place to bring your pets.
Great service, price????
Last Saturday we had to make a decision about letting our precious dog HUNTER(yellow lab) go to HEAVEN . He was suffering from leg cancer. DR.BERARD and his assistant were so compassionate! They let Hunter leave us pain free. I can't thank them enough for helping us through this sad time.
Wouldn't take my loves to any other vet. They exceed fabulous in care, treatment, and cost.
Dr walker and the staff are fantastic! He's a very compassionate Dr who did the very best for our cat Gigi! We always feel at ease knowing are cats are being treated by the best veterinarian in our area. Thank you again for the compassionate care you gave our Gigi. Thankful I have an affordable place to get help for my pets, they've worked with me at times when I've needed it, they've been great!!
I have been going to Colchester Vet for almost 15 years. I actually think that are affordable and I 'm not a wealthy person. The Dr. Bush (there is a man and women) both are wonderful. I have a bully breeds dogs and one can be temperamental, they accommodate us, unlike going to Banifields. They know how to hold her, and treat her, without endangering her. They will match med prices. Honestly an overall good vet.
They are great when you have an emergency with your pet but also a little pricey
Excellent veterinary hospital. Caring staff
This is hands-down the best vet in the area. Every visit the animals are always treated with care and taken very, very good care of. The staff are always nice, and the doctors are well-trained and know what they're doing. As I stated previously, every experience has been pleasant and overall positive for the years and years I've been going there. They continue to be the best with outstanding service and quality of care.
Would trust no one else.
Caring, wonderful people
I have been going to this vet for the past year because it is the "local" vet and convenient. I wasn't initially impressed with the layout of the office, the cramped area to check-out is anxiety inducing for animals. The doctors have been mixed experience, a couple were just okay one seemed so rushed. Prices are much higher than I was used to at previous vets. The real issue is the negative vibe with the office workers, they come across as so miserable and unprofessional. Snarky to each other and customers and oblivious to the fact that everyone can hear all the negative/complaining things being said. I was waiting to be helped and heard the office start blatantly talking trash about customers multiple times. Customers are waiting to pay and leave, but instead of checking them out the staff vents about their day to each other and go into detailed disparaging stories about customers. I'm taking my business elsewhere, I would rather drive further to find a warm and professional staff.
We were given great care.
Very busy veterinary hospital, but staff is extremely friendly and professional. The vets give you individual attention and give you all the time you need. They will answer any question you have.
Great customer service. Very polite. Short wait time
They treat you like family
