I would just like to say I took my puppy Benny here today for his routine second set of shots as a new pup. Not only did I call and recieve an appointment the same day but Maria who answered the phone and I had a pleasure to meet was curtious , and upbeat . Great white glove service. I run my own reservations and hospitality business so I take these little things in to great consideration.. I was greated upon arrival with the same great pleasantry I had over the phone . Myself and my baby boy where treated so well as if we had been there before. My vet Dr . Taddeo was welcoming , freindly and I will only see her anytime we return if possible lol.. I have another older female I cant wait for her to meet. Just an overall awesome experience. Come to think I was going to go all the way to Green Acres mall when I had this jewel just a 10 minute walk away from my home. I highly recommend and have already told my mother and sisters as all love our animals and appreciate when they are treated as the inner humans they are . !!!!! Oh and before I forget there was another young woman who was the liason so to speak and offered me water and took my initial paperwork and held my benny as if he was her own when the Dr was giving him his physical , who was also top notch . I am almost ashmed to not remember her name but she as well deserves a round of applause. DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Love love love this place. !!

wonderful.!!! the prices are similar to other vets but for me what makes them the "BEST" is Dr. Hernandez! met her about 10 years ago at another office then lost track of her to my pets disadvantage. however I found her again here at Bellerose Animal Hosp. and cannot recommend her magic with getting pets better! her knowledge, patience and compassion is unmatched by any vet I've taken my pets to EVER! Best Vet Ever!!! Dear Dr. Hernandez, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for accommodating Hazel. She’s been on the Apoquel for 2 days and has tremendous results!!!! I cannot believe it!!!! She’s hardly scratching at all. It’s a dream come true! I felt so helpless and we’ve tried everything possible, from changing the food, the bowls, the water, detergent, toys, allergy test, shampoos, sprays, hydrocortisone spray, everything except the pills which I was very skeptic of partly bc there’s no evidence of what the long term affects are and the fact that meds can become costly, especially when dispensed indefinitely. Having my own medical bills and issues, this was my last hope. And I feel horrible that I didn’t try it sooner. I wanted to try everything one by one to try to determine what the real allergy stemmed from, but it’s so difficult to identify. Seems like she’s just super sensitive and has high seasonal allergies as well. I’m so very glad and grateful to you and your team for being so wonderful. We started out coming to you bc our vet was out of the office for a few weeks. Then learned from you that the allergy injection our previous vet was giving her could be lethal, after that, there was no way we were going to take her back there. I’m so glad I found you and your office. I cannot tell you in words how much you have helped and how grateful I am to you. Your passion and love for your profession and patients is exceptional and incomparable. I know coming to you will cost more than some places, but it’s so worth the care that my baby receives. I hope this med will help her long term. I understand that I can get monthly refills and after 6 mo on the meds she will need to get labs to check her levels. Loving and caring staff. Their always super friendly and you can tell they have a genuine love for animals. I took my in-laws dog there after he was hit by a car and they provided top notch care, he was running and back to normal ahead of schedule. And the cost came in under the estimate. Their good at letting you know what things could cost at the high end so you don't get those surprise heart attack bills. And their understanding when it comes to making decisions about your dog's health where you have to weigh the value against the cost. Very trustworthy and highly recommended.

Great local animal hospital for dogs, cats, etc. They are also sister hospital in Malverne which takes care of exotic animals who is just as great. Not too expensive but there may be some better deals out there for special surgeries, but I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets!

Overpriced. Push unnecessary test in order to pay for their bills and equipment as mentioned below. Say they want to do what’s right for the animals but put people in tough financial situations to do so. Took 3 days to get my pets history from them and some of the receptionist have attitudes. It’s weird that I would see a different doctor each time for my pet. Was provided miscommunication, one doctor said pet was being spiteful while another doctor said animals aren’t spiteful. I’m not coming back to this place, other vets have lower prices.

Now i am not one to EVER write reviews but my this was my first (and definitely my last) time coming to this place after my experience. As of recently my dog had been limping and refrains from putting weight on his right paw. I waited a few days to see if the limping would stop, seeing as how he still runs, jumps and goes up and down the stairs without vocally expressing his pain (crying, barking, etc.). But once I saw that there wasn't much improvement in his limping I looked online and found this place and they were the only ones opened at the time. I called and spoke to a woman with dirty blonde hair, & expressed my issues with her. She said that his injury may not be anything too extreme and that I can wait a couple of days to see if he stops limping or to be on the safe come in to the hospital and have a doctor examine my dog. She asked if I wanted to make an appointment, I asked if there were any appointments available tonight and she told me I could come in at 9pm. I arrived at 8:57pm. I came in with my dog & filled out the necessary paperwork. I walked in to a full waiting area, to end up being the last one in the waiting area. After sitting in the waiting area for 45 minutes the lady at the front desk tells me shes going to go in the back to talk to the nurse/doctor and see how long until my dog is going to be called. She returns and tells me "i asked her when she would be ready for your dog and she didnt have an answer for me" What kind of answer is that?!...so im obviously confused seeing as how we should've been seen 45 minutes ago. She later tells me that another dog is currently on the way to the hospital as we speak and that once they arrive they're going to be seen before me because "it's an emergency". She then has the nerve to tell me "but if you pay an additional fee we can get your dog seen next" apparently the fact that i had an appointment means nothing in that facility and money takes precedence. That whole experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. Who are you to determine that my dogs injury isnt worthy of immediate attention, and then for you to tell me "im more than welcome to wait" as if i planned on spending my entire night in an animal hospital. I was already waiting for 45 minutes and it wouldve been at least ANOTHER hour on top of the 45 minutes i was already there for the doctor to take care of the CURRENT pet and then the "emergency" animal if and when it arrived. How can you tell someone who made an appointment that they either wait or pay your facility more money for an "emergency fee", its outrageous. You want me to pay an emergency fee as if i wasnt already waiting for almost an hour? Then to top it off she tells me that "its a hospital so emergencies come first" if thats the case then DONT TAKE APPOINTMENTS because as per my experience they obviously wont be honoured. But hey dont worry you guys they'll love your dog like its their own...as long as you pay more money than those that make an appointment. I Will never step foot in that hospital again.

I am listening to how the staff is treating my girl and I sit here smiling. They are speaking to her, petting her, calling her silly names all the while Sophia is giving them a run for their money. Not once is an unkind word said. Instead, she is given all the attention needed so that she can receive the best care possible. Thanks to this AMAZING staff is never enough. I don’t know what I would do without them! I found this group after her former vet couldn’t handle her. Never once have they turned her away. Expensive surgery? Yes! Cheaper treatment options? Non-existent. Very caring, personable and likeable vet which gives the first impression of competency, but let me explain why the 1/5 star. First, they are not very helpful with other issues like health maintenance, behavioral,mental and emotional issues. They readily recommend costly surgeries and ask their clients to save their pets using all means, disregarding financial consequences and quality of life afterwards. They highly recommended this $10k surgery on my pet and reassured me he would live a normal life after. After the surgery, for the past 2 years, my pet has been screaming in pain daily, always grumpy and angry, peeing and pooping everywhere (behavioral issues). Now they say there is nothing they can do as it is normal. I have to persuade another vet into treating this depressed animal with antidepressant, which this clinic caused but can do "nothing" about. My greatest concern about them is them overordering, overcharging, overprescribing with money-making being their top priority. I work in the medical field, so I know what is optional (merely money-making) tests and what is necessary. I hate to come back to my family at the end of the day with an invoice with a long list of unnecessary procedures: all of which without seeking my prior consent. The tests they order do not harm my pets significantly (like repeating blood draw 6 times daily, giving them a lot of extra benign but costly medications and x-rays every few hours), but they certainly are excessive. Basically the vets here present as very kind and personable. They do love animals, but they also love $$.

Please people if you just purchase your new puppy and it's having a "kennel Cough" don't bring it to Bellerose animal hospital. Day 1 will cost you $2000+ They will make sure to scare the hell out of you and convince you to leave it over night. DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will be charged thousands per day. This is how this hospital operates. Don't be a victim. Unfit for sale, what a joke.

So CONSIDERATE! I brought my cat who is almost 13 years old in for a check up, yearly vaccines, and have the doctor assess him for anxiety medication for a long car drive we will be taking in a few weeks. My first impression walking through the front doors was how clean and open the front desk and waiting area is. They atmosphere felt calm and was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in. I didn't know this at the time, but they are a "Cat Friendly Practice" approved by the American Association of Feline Practitioners and that made me feel better about bringing my cat in since he fairly older, extremely scared of loud noises, and get's very nervous when we travel in the car or go to new places. This establishment could not have been more perfect. The vet assistant already had a warm blanket with cat nip on it waiting for us inside the consult room which I very much appreciated. Dr. Chen saw us within 5 minutes of being in the consult room and was so wonderful with my cat! He was calm, gentle, and informed me of everything he was doing and administrating to my cat. He explained step by step and in detail of how we could help my cat during the three day car journey we would be taking and gave me an option of a holistic way to treat him first before we jumped right into giving him medication. I couldn't have been more pleased with the staff, our choice in vet offices to visit and truly felt like they went above and beyond in my cats care. They are very reasonably priced (my cousin is a vet and told me what pricing should be for visit, vaccines, meds, etc) and the total of what I paid matched very close to the number they charged me for my visit. I was very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone seeking a caring and educated vet!

My dog Tucker was very happy and friendly to the people and other pets there. Even though it's a little pricey which I don't mind it's worth bringing your pet there with loving staff.

My little cat, Scout, was diagnosed with kidney failure in January 2016 and he also had pancreatitis and a heart murmur. Dr. Irons and Dr.Dejoie took care of him the two times he was hospitalized. They were very compassionate and explained everything that was going on. He was on subcutaneous fluids starting with 6 times a week and gradually down to 4 times a week. They had no problem with my cutting costs by buying bags of fluid on line to use at home and in the office. August 12, 2016 Scout declined. When I took him in, the staff (who all loved him!) could not have been more supportive and compassionate. This time it was Dr. Taddeo and Dr. Granzin who treated him over the weekend. I could not have asked for better care at a vet. They explained everything that was happening to my baby and what to expect. I took him home for hospice care and sadly had to bring him back the next day. When the time came to let him go, every person there showed compassion and love for my Scout. The doctors, techs and office staff are all wonderful! Thank you!le

I want to thank Kyle, their PR person, who's very patient and wants the best for his clients. Doctor Hernandez is the best. She's very personable, knowledgeable and clearly loves her job. I want to thank her for making my visit pleasant and fun. However, the front desk girls need to lighten up; be clear about information and at the very least smile, it helps. Over all, I would definitely bring my cat back to Bellerose Hospital.

Everyone is so kind there, you can really tell they love animals and care about yours. The facility is very clean, quiet, and well decorated. They have water/coffee/tea in their waiting room, and a hook for your dog's leash. It is pricy, but they provide you with excellent care, and explain things in an open and clear way.

I do not think anyone should ever take their pet to a vet that prefers surgery over noninvasive healing methods. I can not begin to explain the terror this office gave us. Not only did 3 different doctors call within 1 week but every time there was either a mix up or just flat out wrong information. Our dog was experiencing difficulty urinating so we took her in, got x-rays and it was determined she had bladder stones. Of course I am aware there are different types of stones and it was quite possible that she may have to have surgery. We were given a stone dissolving food and antibiotic and within 10 days from the diagnosis we received a call saying we should schedule surgery for the next coming Monday. Something did not seem right to me and I didn't care if I had to start from the beginning and pay for the same tests again but THANKFULLY I went to get a second opinion. Long story short - our 2nd opinion vet advised it was way too soon to determine if surgery was needed as it takes 1-2 months for the stones to begin dissolving or to dissolve completely (not 10 days not 2 weeks). We also learned it is rare for the stones to obstruct a females urinary tract and being that they were not large we did not have to worry (yet). STONES DISSOLVED AND 2ND X-RAYS WERE CHECKED OVER BY A RADIOLOGIST TO CONFIRM!!!!!!!! NO SURGERY IS NEEDED AND EVERYTHING BELLEROSE TOLD ME WAS COMPLETELY INCORRECT AND MISLEADING. I AM ALSO DISGUSTED THAT THE QUOTE FOR SURGERY WAS OVER DOUBLE THE COST WE RECEIVED WHEN GETTING QUOTES FROM 2 OTHER VETS. I really hope this vet office shapes up, I am sure they are aware that PETS mean the world to their owners and I would hate for this to ever happen to anyone else.

I have been coming here since my dog was a puppy the staff and drs here are so friendly. They have made both me and my dog comfortable. Recently my dog has been having health issues. Dr Malik was excellent she was patient and understanding on the situation made her suggestion on what to do next. The staff there always shows so much love to my dog. I would like to describe my encounter with this business from the moment an appointment was scheduled. I will not state my opinion, you can read and make that on your own. My dog was having digestive problems and was vomiting. I panicked when I saw he threw up blood. 1. Called to schedule an appointment that same day, I was told there were no available appointments. We persisted on the getting him in that day, we were told that if its an emergency, we would need to pay a $500 emergency fee along with consultation fee which is $55. BluePearl Veterinary Partners, I believe is $163 and if you live in the Bronx or close $75, average cost for emergency is $100 2. Scheduled an appointment for the next day, since my dog seemed like his usual self. 3. Went in, began signing the usual forms. While I was writing, 2 staff members were speaking with the receptionist. I did not hear what was said to her just what she responded. Her response was "why? why is she any different. that's not what we do with everyone else" the 2 staff members were upset and said "you always do this". They went to the back to talk privately. I was a little paranoid so when the receptionist returned, I questioned her if the conversation they had was about me. She did not look me in the eye when she said no. I told her I was uncomfortable and pushed her to give me a 'look me in the eye response' She said they were not talking about me, fine. 4. No one was in the waiting room so I was called as soon as I got there, great. 5. On the table in the vet office, they use a dirty towel to place your pet, very sanitary btw. One staff member ask the usual questions, I answer explaining his issues. She leaves the room and returns with the 'vet'. I explain my dog's issues and she says they will return with an estimate. Side note: vet said my dog had stomach pain, second opinion else where said he did not have stomach pain. 6. Estimate for x-ray and blood work (which was broken down to 7 separate test and charges) = $1,221.60. X-RAY alone $240 7. Same analysis all included $359 elsewhere, which I did that same day, X-RAY alone $125 8. I declined to proceed with their business, the staff member said " the longer i wait the higher the bill will get. my dog may seem fine now but the next day that can drastically change (thank you for your concern with my wallet)" My dog is okay, his diet just needed to change. Overall, I will not return to this business.

My Cat was sick in December, and I went to this facility, first off when I walked in, it's smelled so good, surprisingly I didn't expect it to smell nothing else but animals scent. The staff and the Vet were super kind, and helpful. They cared about the well being of my Tigger. Then they followed up by calling me the next day, and the day after to see how he was doing!! Plus their fees werent bad. That's def a grate place to take your sick pet for care.
