I am new to the area. I searched online to find the perfect place to take my babies. I came across Rainbow City Pet Clinic. I called to set up an appointment. When the receptionist answered, she had to place me on hold. I was on hold for several minutes. I decided to hang up and call back later. I understand places of business can get busy. I gave it another chance only to be on the phone with someone who called me "honey" and "baby". Where I am from, this isn't very professional as I do not even know this person I am speaking with. It really made me feel uncomfortable. With that said, I made the decision to seek veterinary care elsewhere.

We moved here about 4 years ago and the only place that I was ever told to take my dog was to Rainbow Pet Clinic. The vet's act as my dog is their dog and it is so comforting to know that if I have to walk out the door without my dog she is going to be treated as if she was their's. Here's just an extra 5 stars for Ms. Bernice. Absolutely the best grooming experience I have ever had for my dog and she loves Missy as much as Missy lovers her. I've been switching around, trying to find a veterinarian's office I like & feel comfortable with. The vet we really liked so far was 30+ miles away and my girl is a bit car anxious, she just doesn't like car rides, so the ride to previous vet was just too far. I had been to RCPC a few months ago with my older dog, so I thought we would try them with my little (big) princess baby, Sydney. They were all wonderful with her and they had a new payment arrangement called Scratchpay, which made it more affordable to pay over time, so I was able to get her annual exam, all her shots and have her micro chipped. The doctor (Wagner) was great, really took the time to answer my questions and explain everything to me. I really appreciated that. I was the first one to use the Scratchpay, so the ladies hadn't done it before. They asked if I minded being the "guinea pig", which I didn't. It took a while to check out because they were learning as they went, but the entire time was such a nice experience. Everyone there, staff and other patients, was all so nice, and made such a fuss over my girl. We have definetly found our new veterinarian.

We visited the grooming part and it was ok. My pets cut/trim was ok but I had to give him a bath afterward. My pet has never had fleas or anything but for two (2) days after a trip to this groomerhe was scratching like he had fleas so I did a treatment on him.

We met Dr. Drummond when she answered an emergency call after our Miniature Schnauzer was run over by a car. She saved Heidi and did everything she could to save Heidi's ability to walk again. Heidi could not be transported to the emergency hospital in Birmingham, so Dr. Drummond performed the surgery Heidi had to have by following instructions over the phone with the doctor in Birmingham who would have done the surgery had we been able to transport her. I can't remember how long Heidi was in the hospital but Dr. Drummond took care of her (and us) every step of the way. I will never forget how we were treated and what she did for Heidi. Yes, Heidi had a complete recovery and we got to enjoy our precious girl for several more years. Since that time, we have used RCPC for two more Miniature Schnauzers and now our new Aussiedoodle. I can't begin to say enough about this practice, all of the doctors who work there, and all of the technicians and office personnel who have taken such good care of us and our fur babies for about 20 years now. I can't even consider going anywhere else.

Long wait times, and over-priced poor-quality service. My dog boarded here in late July and picked up fleas, which she is highly allergic to. I had to get rid of the fleas and put her on steroids to heal the hotspots that she came home with after being boarded. (They didn't mention even noticing them!) She got a little better, but her skin is still very itchy two months later and she just isn't herself. Took her back to them Monday, they gave her a shot for allergies, which has not helped at all, but was a $160+ visit, despite the itching being caused by boarding her with them. A couple years ago RBC was great, but they've gone downhill recently. Will not be returning.

Been taking our fur babies to Dr Drummond since 2000. We had to put one baby down last year, at the age of 19, and she couldn't have done it with more consideration and compassion. She also did everything she could to try to save one of my babies a few years ago, when he was "throwing" blood clots. Just these last 2 weeks our current baby had some lumps that just seemed to come out of nowhere. She removed them, had them tested, and we're celebrating cuz they're benign!! We wouldn't go to any other vet!!!

As of today, my 5 pets (4 dogs and 1 cat) have a new vet. I was no longer happy with the level of care we were getting with the vet we had been using for years. I had been looking around on the Internet for a new vet and ran across Rainbow City Pet Clinic. Noticed all of the Google reviews for this clinic were 5 Stars. Started reading the reviews and made up my mind to give them a try. We have a new puppy that needed to go for her first check up and shots so I loaded her up and headed out. I was VERY impressed with the staff and loved the vet we saw. They go the extra mile for you and your pet! Very loving, knowledgeable, and competent. Whether it was the vet or a tech that was in the exam room, they took a lot of time and never seemed to be in a rush. Answered all questions in depth, carefully explained diagnosis, and showed me how to give meds. Great experience! Glad I found them!

The staff here must love animals because they take very good care of your pets. Our little dog, Lucy, was very listless and couldn't keep food or water on her stomach. We feared the worst case when they kept her for a few days. It turns out that she had stomach issues complicated by her weight. A special diet and 6 months later and she plays like a puppy.

Yes, they are a busy clinic! But, they are busy because they are good at what they do, and genuinely care about you and your animals! I have always been acknowledged with a hello and/or a smile when I enter the facility, regardless of whether staff is occupied with other clients. My phone calls have been answered in a caring and knowledgeable way. And I can’t tell you how many times the staff have helped me save money on meds, taught me how to take care of an issue (changing bandages on a repaired dew claw, using the “collar of shame,” how to apply a topical flea treatment) or stood in the rain with me and helped load my dog and his belongings up into my car after I’ve returned from vacation...they, from the doctors to the technicians, are like extended family who love my dog. And that’s what matters to me.

We have been clients with RBCPC since the very beginning. Dr. Drummond won me over the first time I took my dog Muffin. She was a collie mix and weighted about 40lbs. All the other vets I had been to would take her and throw her up on the metal table to weigh her and examine her. She was so scared because the table moved and she could not get traction. I felt so sorry for her. The first time I took her to Rainbow City Pet Clinic. Dr. Drummond got down on the floor with Muffin. Loved on her examined her without the trauma of the exam table. I was sold on this clinic. They have taken care of all my animals since then and lovingly help them cross the Rainbow Bridge with it was time.

We absolutely love Dr. Travis Wagner! He is very patient and kind and always takes the time to answer my questions, even via email. The vet and staff were great. I will be back. My only advice is that, if you come on a Saturday as a walk-in, you should be prepared to wait over an hour before you're seen. My entire visit on Saturday took two hours total, and most of that time was spent waiting. I recommend making an appointment instead, or, if you must go as a walk-in, that you arrive when the doors open.
