I love the campus!!!

Uw Tacoma is vastly growing and becoming less of a commuter school. I have a lot of friends leaving the Seattle campus just to come to the Tacoma campus. Mainly because we offer a lot and are beginning to offer more programs, also it is easier to secure the classes you want and its like attending a private school where you have the teachers full attention and can accesses them not a TA at anytime through scheduled and mandatory office hours or through e-mail, some even text. I love that I get the same education and degree as UW Seattle but get to have the luxury of living at home for free. I feel UW Tacoma is inexpensive and valuable to my education and future.

Aesthetics and environment are very modern with tones and structure that reminisce of the previous buildings' industrial history. Wide variety of majors and classes to help launch anyone into success in their desired field. Benefits from its great main campus' system in Seattle.

The campus is very urban and located right in downtown Tacoma, yet the center of campus feels like a quiet park. It's right across the street from famous museums and the water front. There's also convenient transportation, with frequent buses and the light rail running nearby. Although it is sometimes considered a second rate school compared to UW in Seattle, the Tacoma campus offers some unique opportunities and support that cannot be so easily found in Seattle, including an amazing program for aspiring documentary filmmakers. All of the faculty I've interacted with have been kind and generous with their time and knowledge.

Great school. Has good professors and the TLC is awesome for any help you need in any aspect. The parking is limited unless you want to pay and your visit is under 90 minutes. The use of the link is highly recommended, it runs a 6 stop look from the dome to the theater district every 12 minutes. There are few choices for food but gets mundane if you are going to school here soon the options seem limited. Many places offer a student discount if you show your student ID. Campus security will walk you to your car on campus at night if you dont feel comfortable. There are blue emergency poles with buttons on campus that will alert the local police in the event of an emergency and nobody is around. The bookstore is conveinient but the book buy back program.is very hit and miss. One quarter i boight a book and when i went to trade it in the next quarter they wouldnt take it back because it was a teacher addition... so be vigilant when buying your textbooks, especially if they are covered in tape.

UW Tacoma has played an important role in revitalizing Tacoma's downtown core. Fresh landscaping brightens the streets and discourages littering. The influx of young professionals helps support new businesses and a lively bar scene. Perhaps most important to me as a local is the way that UW Tacoma has preserved historical buildings, repurposing them for use as classrooms, research labs, and mixed-use facilities that house shops, restaurants, community services, and housing alongside university amenities.

Newly promoted level 5 local guide here. I'm going to lay you down some advise. Steer clear. Tacoma is a place you come to for the scoutin, and stay for the smell. It's glorious. I often like to sneak around in the bushes giving people the ol poodle in the kaboodle l. Recently it hasn't been received so well and I am forced to find new hunting grounds. Just make sure to give eye contact with the receptionist. He has a glow that will melt your heart and draw you low. So low. Melts me down into bed, I drape eye contact like no other. It's mutual.

With the title "University of Washington" many preconceived ideas of large classes and huge campus layouts come to mind ; however, this campus has the feel of a small university with the accessibility and resources as a State University. The small class size and urban campus layout offers a school that one may obtain a prestigious degree with a small town feel.

If you are a student with a disability DO NOT go to UWT! They used to have a great disability support office until Shannon Ledessma took over. Spend just five minutes with her and you will realize that she has no idea what she is doing and doesn't give a crap about students. It was so bad I had to arrange most of my own accommodations this quarter. My instructors were great and tried to work with me, but you know its bad when even they don't want to work with her. She tried to blame others but I had emails proving otherwise (one of my teachers straight up told me she was lying). I hope she gets sued.

The UW - Tacoma was one of the main drivers responsible for the renaissance that has taken place in this area of Tacoma. The entire area is now an interesting place to visit with many shops and restaurants.

Absolutely the worst. Unfriendly and unhelpful. You automatically lose people's respect if you don't meet any of their expectations well enough. Worst 5 years of my life.

Like any school, there are good and bad aspects of UW Tacoma. The good: easy to get into (for a good name), small class sizes, urban layout, cheap cost of living), lots of food nearby, nice campus, and most of the professors are good. The bad: hasn't yet completed the transition from a commuter school, some professors seem inexperienced, don't have a formal international business program, and there aren't as many courses to choose from or they are not offered as frequently. This last point is the most frustrating. There are so many courses in the course guide that seem so interesting, but then when you check them out they haven't been offered in years. All things considered, this is a great school with ample resources and a positive learning environment. I would recommend making sure they can accommodate your desired degree path, but beyond that, see you on campus.

It is a small campus. I have considered going to school here for an MBA here; however, the program I was looking at didn't have good recruiting opportunities. It was just a different target group. I heard great things about the undergrad programs here.

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending the school to earn my B.S. degree..it is an extremely diverse student population (diverse backgrounds cultures and demographics) with small class sizes thst allow you to interact with your professors and get any answers you may seek. Every instructor I have had has also been very educated andnknowledgable while also down-to-Earth and approachable....something that has really helped me to succeed. I also love how the school has heloed to improve this area, and has refurbished many old buildings. Its a younger campus that is really growing...I cannot wait to see it in 10 years.

I came to UW Tacoma with the intention of eventually transferring to the Seattle Campus.. After my first year, I realized that when you graduate from any University of Washington, regardless of campus, your degree will still say graduated from University of Washington. Also, I love the small classes which give you the chance to have one-on-one with professors to talk about questions and concerns. Although for some, it's a go to school then straight home experience, there are wide varieties of opportunities to engage in a community based atmosphere at UWT. Basically, I planned to only go to UWT for 2 years then transfer to the Seattle campus but that thought has completely slipped my mind. P.S. If you want to make some extra money but still want your study time, get an on-campus job. They are very nice staff that definitely accommodate your school schedule and always makes sure that education ultimately comes first!

My girlfriend goes here and she is a women of color and this school is very great when it come to academic but most staff are unconsciously racist they tend to put white peoples opinons before any of those with color I really think you guys should cherish your students not by color but by brains and to have my girlfriend coming home crying because what she has to say never gets paid affection to by the staff please take more time on all students not just the white ones
