WARNING: DON'T STUDY AT THIS COLLEGE The worst college I ever studied in my life. Most of the teachers and advisors are racists. They treat you badly and racially. Nobody care about you or about your problems. Anything you say is wrong and rude for them. They will make you regret about studying in USA. They make you fail because they want more money. They will break your dreams. This is kind of gang or mafia. Studying at this college is the worst decision I have made in my life. Be smart and don't study in this place.

Hope you're ready to wait in line for hours to get an advisor because they haven't been on the same page with my advice. One person says walk in only, the other says to schedule one. Also they clearly didn't read my email when I was asking which classes I would be eligible for (I'm a transfer student)... Not a good first impression for sure.

So sick of the holier-than-heck attitudes about this "vet-friendly, non-profit" community college. Vets sleep in their cars around campus while higher-up staff drive Audis with fat pensions. Pure red-tape diploma mill. If you can put up with the incredible annoyance of the administration jerking you around and the drudgery of grossly underpayed, part-time teaching staff, this is the place for you. Admin can't be bothered to get off their duff or to think outside anything theyre familiar with. Occasionally will screw you over and once realized, nothing will happen. It's a us-versus-them place and you're on the them side if you're "just a student". Why are so many 5-star ratings from people who haven't even been to sscc..??

Currently my only experience with this school has been through the online portion. So Due to moving a lot in my life I have had the opportunity to attend 4 different colleges and one of them specifically dealing in online schooling. So let me first start off by saying that at least for the 2 classes i took this quarter online instruction is just simply terrible. It's almost non existent and that on top of that online learning resources such as videos/ tutorials / power points for the most part are not provided. For some of the easier material there might be some information but i kid you not, the videos in my math class were from like the 1950s and what was even worse is there were several times where they taught me wrong and then the online "Help me solve this" taught me the correct way to answer the problems. So if you are a student that needs instruction, or relys off of visual or auditory learning i would highly recommend that you do not take online classes unless you are comfortable searching the internet/khan academy for answers. To be as blunt as humanly possible if you go to this school for online schooling be prepared that your only real resource will be your text book. So with that said despite the online portion of the school being extremely lackluster the content of the material is solid. The textbooks are actually the best I have ever had in my college career so i was a little surprised especially coming from a community college. The school is also extremely flexible when it comes to class schedules but that is a pro/con situation as they have several openings for class times but if they don't get enough people for them they then cancel that class without warning you (happened to me this quarter) . Which at this point you might be wondering why my review is 3 stars and is due to their excellent staff at the school despite the many hiccups the school has had its been a relatively pain free process dealing with staff and getting issues resolved. I'm positive that if you were to attend the classes in person this would be a fantastic school, however if work and family life limit your availability and your stuck with online schooling it becomes a really hard decision whether to attend this school or not. For me personally i will continue to attend, but i do have to base that largely on the fact that my work pays for the school and the fact that i'm a tactile learner. Thus sitting in a classroom never benefited me to begin with.

Beware the bait & switch @ the bookstore. Received an email order confirmation for used texts from bookstore and upon my arrival to pick them up I was told they only had new texts. $$ If you're looking for used books go online or take your chances with the bookstore.

I tried getting a degree in IT here. All I learned was what I read in the textbooks, and the teachers just regurgitate some of what you already read. The labs mostly consisted of sitting around waiting for the rest of the class to install Windows for the 20th time. I kept expecting the classes to get more interesting farther into the program, but everything was so superficial. They teach at the pace of the slowest students. And right before I finished, they changed the whole program and I couldn't finish before the cut-off time because of my job. So basically the biggest waste of time and money.

Although I'm currently not enrolled at South Seattle as a student, the arboretum at South Seattle is one of my happy places almost anytime of year. My most recent visit included stopping to smell the still blooming roses and summer flowers as well as a walk through the Chinese Garden area. You barely notice you are on a campus, near a parking lot. It's easy to get caught up on a zen moment or two while taking a break on a bench, under an arbor ... Or even in a pagoda!

If you depend on FINANCIAL AID at all, do not come here, steer clear litterally any other college will give you a more dependable financial aid department, these people cannot return a call for the life of them, Dispursments are litterally never on time, I had to take out a private loan at a bank to cover cost for more than one quarter over two years because the financial aid department couldn't process paperwork on time. I'm sitting here writing this review and am waiting for a Dispursment that should have happened this morning, probably in a week they'll get around to transferring my funds until then, ramen all around!

I took an Autocad class here and it was awesome. My instructor, Loc Nguyen, was really nice and helpful. I also saved money by taking my class here instead of UW. I highly recommend taking that class here if you are interested in Autocad.

I have loved coming to this school. All my experience with teachers has been amazing, and almost all the staff has been great to work with, with exception to your average grouch here and there. I strongly recommend this school for those wanting to come back to school after an extended break from any sort of education. There is a good mix of straight out of high schoolers and older folks trying to get some education for a better job. If you are thinking about going back to school, give it a try.

Good teachers so far. I had to switch from their diesel program to their AMT program since they had to rework their diesel program, which stopped them from accepting new students for a while year. Disappointing that my only option was wait another year to start school or switch programs. I wish they had better designated smoking locations. I have asthma and it's hard walking around campus with smokers every few feet.
