I had to take an ASE exam here last week, let me tell you it was easy to navigate the campus and find the testing center. The parking here is ample and was free. The ladies in Admin helped me out over the phone and scheduling a date as well …

This had to be one of THE WORST experiences in my life regarding education! The teachers are not teachers! You do not have to have a licence/degree etc to be a teacher at this school. And you can tell! Socially awkward "instructors" who are taking classes themselves so that they can teach their own class??? In the Medical and Billing program the professionalism is completely out the door. They don't listen, they shuffle you back and forth and like to "shush" people when they don't like what's being said, there is no consistency, you're overloaded with busy work, and you jump around all the time so it's hard to stay on track! Literally everyone I've talked to above and below are struggling to understand this course! The instructors (except for a couple) are being overpaid to sit there and assign in-class work but honestly it's like doing online work. DON'T DO IT ONLINE EITHER! They set you up to fail. The teachers come and go and there is no consistency. It's stressful and on top of it all the dean of the program doesn't care either. I don't have time to jump through hoops just to get some answers because I'm too busy trying to figure out how the hell I'm gonna pass the CPC exam at the end of my course because after all this time, I still don't know what the hell I'm doing. Basically the structure of this course is crap. It needs to be restructured from top to bottom. Don't waste your time or money. The administration all know about it but they don't care either. It's a business, not a place to learn. They take your money and send ya on your way. Good luck.

Financial Aid-------Nightmare! I have a Pell Grant that covers my tuition at RTC, so I thought. I am a current student at RTC, and things have gone really smooth up until now. I received a letter in the mail from the financial aid office saying that they have dropped my financial aid for the quarter because I took two classes together that apparently I wasn't supposed to take together. They notified me after I received my certificate in one of the classes, and I am about to finish the others. I don't understand why I am just now being notified that my financial aid would not be covered for a quarter that I have worked my butt off to finish. They are saying I now have a balance due on my account, and have placed a block that is keeping me from registering for classes for next quarter. I am very frustrated. I should have been notified sooner so that I could have made the changes necessary to keep from violating financial aid policies. It is too late in the quarter to even drop the classes! It was an honest mistake, I had no idea I couldn't take certain classes together. At this point, they should have caught it/notified me sooner and should honestly have to eat the cost. Until then, I have no choice but to register for classes at Yakima Valley Community College who referred me and other nursing students to Renton Technical College for prerequisites, so I can keep on track. I will also let YVCC know what has happened, in case they would like to refer their students elsewhere. I am willing to take this review away if Renton Technical College decides to makes things right.

Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the counselors told me i wasn't right for the program i was interested in so i had to talk to a different one. They are rude they act like they deserve the world. At the orientation all they did was pushing you to stay because of the money. I ended up doing all the financial aid paperwork but after a few days i regret ever signing up for it. So i went to talk to the financial aid people and when i told the lady i was going somewhere else she started yelling at me in front of everyone. She said fafsa was going to deny my application if i would register in a different college and other mean things in the end she gave me all the paper work i needed and i left. I was mad at myself for registering at rtc because there were red flags since the beginning. After i left rtc I went to Highline College and now, I'm about to graduate from Hihline i will receive my AAS in Business. Please do not waste your time at rtc!!!!!

Renton Technical College is one of the best colleges ever. It's very useful for people trying to get degrees in math and science, and it's cooking program and the food, especially, is to die for.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE FROM DENTAL ASISTAIN PROGRAM: The whole system of the college is built in the way to get the most of the money out of your pocket. Every student is seen as potential source of money; therefore, this college will make decisions in favor of their own pocket. - If you are week student you are most likely will be "finished" and forced to restart the quarter so college will charge you again for tuitions. - Students are forced into purchasing books and equipment (some of them cost around $400) they will never use during the quarter and, very often, the teacher will collect the equipment/books at the end of the quarter for unknown reason... (probably, they are bringing it back to the bookstore for resale). - Tests often contain errors and mistakes, based on old textbooks and cause confusion among students. However, it is students' responsibility to let the teacher know about those mistakes, otherwise, it will be graded as your own mistake... Overall, I can say this place is very shady and its money thirst is getting too obvious. Unlike other schools, this place is poorly organized. Students' interests are not prioritized and the "system" puts its own profit first. LIFE HACK: if you are forced to buy books/equipment, do not open its packaging so you can return it a few days later. You can always order it / buy it again if you will actually ever need to use those. Also, do not let teachers take your stuff (things you paid for) away, keep it so you can sell it on Craigslist/eBay and get your money back. If you have a choice, I would recommend Bellevue College or Green River college instead of RTC. Both schools have very organized teachers and new buildings. Much better experience than in RTC.

Automotive technology is good but Mike’s lesson is the worst in the department because of Mike. Students only rely on the book. There is no structured program for lessons. There is no lab that the student can rely on. There is no canvas to follow the lessons and grades. So Mike's lesson is the worst I've ever seen. Officials should change Mike if they want the Automotive technology to be good. This is a serious talk, if you doubt, make an investigate.

An amazing school, welcome with warm hands. First time visiting I was welcomed and helped by council members, and since then I enjoy my time attending RTC. The food at the cafeteria is amazing and at a reasonable price as well of the bakery, COFFEE AND DOUGHNUTS! Keep up the awesome work RTC!

I can't speak for all of the programs. However, my experience in the Math and Biology department was poor. The Biology class when taught by Sara and Cherl are horrible. The fail rate of both professors are nearly half of the class. Many students end up taking Biology classes 2 to 3 times before they can pass. The Math program is just as bad. All the students regardless of level learn from Kahn university and some online program. The students are completely on their own. If they are having difficulty than they must get tutoring or support from home. Okay, so then why would anyone pay RTC. If you already know the material and just need an official grade then it is good route because you get an 4.0 for completing the class. For those who are learning, it takes 2 to 3 times before they can pass. The Dean also mentioned when the students brought up their concerns that they are Africans. Therefore, they don't understand English. When I personally wrote her, she stated that her program was the most successful in the state. Based on the feedback from other students, I find this hard to believe.

So far so good. The staff were proactive and knowledgeable. I received all the information I need quickly and accurately. I'll be seeing them again.

This school is not for everyone, if you are a "go getter", you can make yourself excellent educational pathway and experience. If you are very passive and lazy, you will not make it through or will not get the knowledge you need to succeed. All resources are available there. Never give up there and always study hard every minute, every second you can. Scholarships are great there.

Came to give a certification exam, and it was so easy to locate and park. The center was good and the overall campus was neat and well maintained.

Renton technical is a complete waste of time all my parents money gone down the drank Math is the worst subject on online work that's not math that's one failure class why it should it been the old fashion way paper, pencil, and books , no computers, because that's actually cheating. next you know the financial aid is a disaster, the way this school is going is massive Failure students that don't have the right experience in providing the carreer their in and yes i'm serious no likes a teacher that's cheats on the computer using on information they need used books only its the only way to get things down and IT admin good but Computer science is just the worst for every student that does know what your doing I hate this school why their paying attention on achedmics because everyone paying attention all these same stupid subject that always don't any longer Marty Cookey should be fired because online math is 100 percent Failure. I can't pass a class when all these students distract me in the class how can I concentrate I want to get a job in the navy so I can get out this house I want to something on my own so that I can be my own alone because colleges like this are not thinking very straight their thinking the wrong way of the chain pls correct your school pls this would be if you have more teachers to help more in classes all students have a lot anxiety, stress and I hate why this school doesn't give something good it has worse history of student failing this not acceptable school at all because it should be retired because its old why I should go here in first place I needed to go navy spend some years and get a good job
