This place is horrendous. Do NOT send your children here, as a former student I have more than enough credibility to tell you that. It makes you feel like you cannot survive in any other college but Landmark, and that you are a victim of your own LD. The food is grotesque, and the plates are never updated. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING and never kept. Screw this place, it’s 3 1/2 months I’ll get back.

Beautiful school, awesome experience at open house a few weeks ago!

My son attended and loved it, got his associates degree, and then transferred directly to a 4-yr school. Landmark is by far the best school for students with a learning disability because it's their specialty-- they only serve the LD population. They now even have a BA program.

my mom took me this place when they were doing the campus tour event. i fell in love with this place ever since.

This school ruined my life. They convinced me that just because I have a learning disability, that I have autism. And they lumped every student into the same category; severally autistic. And they treated every student the same way; as severally autistic. They had play-dough in the classes, "snack time" in some of the classes, and rooms full of bean bags and other toys for students who needed a "sensory brake". People who just had Aspergers or Dyslexia were treated the same way as students with PDD or Kanners. Now I can't take myself out of that mindset that I need a supervisor everywhere I go, and I'm always in fear of appearing autistic in public. Don't go to this school, please.

Landmark College located in Putney VT. has many hidden secrets that has prevented I and my peers from excelling in the "real world". I would honestly love to be able to speak highly of one of the "Best US colleges for students with learning disadvantages" BUT the college has failed many of us in a variety of areas. I was harassed by one of the school police officers on the daily. I was forced to place myself into a box because the environment literally felt like a sunken place. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

This place is increasingly in the middle of nowhere. With no AIR CONDITIONING in any of the dorm rooms unless with a Doctors Note. I can hardly sleep at all some nights or if I do it from straight up not sleeping the 1-2 nights before. The food is questionable depending on the day. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. The chili at the cafeteria can personally scare me and other people I know. The make it too spicy and must not be able to throw it away. They have this batch out for 2-3 days. The teachers are all nice and will try to work with you. But there are some things I would expect the teachers to know about what they are teaching. My high school psychology teacher definitely knows more standard disorders the one here. This school seems to be once last choice for schools if they have trouble at other colleges or universities. For those who want to have a fun game out of how far we are from anything just look up. Where is the nearest Starbucks from this school.

Appalling. The professors were never available, and were quite rude when I asked for help. I felt outed for my learning difference. The rest of students were all extremely introverted and no one wanted go do anything. The food was horrible, it always tasted like it had been microwaved. I'm paying $34K you can't afford better cooking equipment?! Do not go to this college.

Landmark College and their faculty forever helped improve my life. Their summer program 1990 was outstanding. I will always be thankful for the wonderful experience. Note - requires tremendous hard work, discipline and focus on listening to truly gain the life lessons.

The skills I have obtained from when I attended the college are helping me to receive my Master's degree in the next year! I would highly recommend this college to any individual who needs the type of academic support this college has to offer.

My daughter attended this college. It is in a quaint town. The school was wonderful-- she learned so many skills and even made the dean's list. For once in her life, her teachers knew how to deal with dyslexia. It allowed her to learn how to be successful at college. It truly is a "launching school." I highly recommend this school.

This school is a JOKE, they don’t take sexual assault seriously, they discriminate based on whether you pay full tuition or have grants. If you pay full tuition they will let you get away with Murder but if you have any assistance from the school they will try to find ways to get you in trouble. The dorms have paper thin walls, barely working showers, and no A/C. And only 50% of the teachers understand how to teach students with learning disabilities, the other half think they are teaching at state universities.

I read a review on a different review site that someone was raped at this college. Would stay away if I were you.

Our son graduated from Landmark college several years ago. The skills, both scholastic and personal, that he learned there he was able to apply to successfully graduate from San Jose Stare University with a BS in Engineering Technology. He is now working in his field and we are grateful to the staff of Landmark for their guidance and support.

You wrote a review for Landmark College 32 minutes ago 1.0 star rating 8/8/2017 I only have 5 weeks of experience at this campus, but i've seen quite enough. The classes are pretty worthless. If you could graduate high school, you're probably above the bar for this college. They don't really teach you any ways to apply what you "learn". They teach you concepts we've all heard of, and talk about why they're important, but that's about it. The professors are almost all nice, but most seem pretty clueless too. There's been hardly any homework at all, and very, very few tests. To some of you, this may seem a good thing, but for people who want to actually improve themselves to move on to a decent college, this campus fails to deliver on it's promises. It doesn't help LD students, it coddles them and convinces their parents they can't succeed anywhere else. The classes here will only be satisfying for you if you have below a 6th grade reading/writing level. The campus is horrendously boring. One game room with limited games, one expensive cafe only open until midnight. Quiet hours start at 9pm sunday-thursday, and for friday and saturday, it's pushed back to 11pm. Wow! The town is also equally boring. I was lucky enough to have a car, but really, there's not much around. I only stayed in Frost Hall, but it was pretty terrible. Too hot, and if you don't leave your windows open 24/7, it starts to smell horrendous. Even for those of us here with decent hygiene, it can get bad leaving the window closed for one day. For the students who stay locked in their room, never shower or do their laundry, the smell can't be contained by their door. Certain ends of the hallway are disgusting. There are no community kitchens, except in the small dorms reserved for seniors. That means your only real options for food are the dining hall with very limited hours, and the expensive cafe that's only open until midnight. Nothing in the common areas except a single tv. The attempts at campus events are laughable. The most recent one I noticed was "Cereal and cartoons night" in which they invited us down to the common area to eat cereal and watch cartoons. Sometimes they have small, boring campfires with nothing to do but eat marshmallows and listen to that one group loudly talk about D&D or whatever. Campus security are unnecessarily aggressive and incompetent. They refused me the right to go to the bathroom while I was locked in a room and being interrogated for a violation they couldn't prove I committed. Then they fined me $100 because some drunk people said I was with them off-campus. The quiet hours are enforced strictly. Sometimes they tell us to quiet down before quiet hours even start. The staff aren't interested in helping anyone. The RD spits chewing tobacco 24/7, even while giving us an hour long lecture about how great he is. Pretty unprofessional.

Landmark college is the best that can happen to a young person with learning problems. The staff is second to none

Social life is depressing to be around, even though the classes are on Ld level makes it feel like high school all over again, Michael Luciani really does a poor job at that school from my experience doesnt help students when they need help.

Fantastic school and teachers. Great student resources. The buildings do need to be refurbished though. Many buildings have decaying paint, old gross furniture (they should use leather) and rusting or extremely old bathrooms and appliances.

The Best college there is. I went to this college for 2 years, and they were the best of my life! The food is amazing (chocolate pie is fave), the staff is very friendly and really cares! The college listens to its students and inputs suggestions. It seems to me that most of the negative reviews come from angry punks who wanted to be allowed to drink and be as loud as they want whenever they want. Yeah there is no air conditioning in the dorms, but I've been to 3 colleges and None of them had that. Its a common thing, all you need is a freakin fan. The staff are amazing and there are so many resources for different needs, there are writing labs, councilling, optional weekly check ins, and they never talk down to us. The classes are appropriately challenging, and they give out plenty of writing assignment and tests, unlike what someone else on the reviews claimed. They have fun events and trips to New York City. Their travel abroad programs are amazing, I was on a Pirate ship in the Caribbean for a month! I also got to take awesome sword fencing and horseback riding classes for my gym credits! The students there are also awesome, with a very tight community. I still fondly remember when we had a snow day and what seemed like the whole student body had a full on snow ball war! They really listen to their students; when I really wanted swings set up to relax on, I made the case for them and they actually put up two tree swings on campus just like that! Its a great place and the forest around the campus is also very beautiful and fun to hike in. I found an awesome little waterfall!
