I don't have a lot of experience with Weber State University. I did attend a big conference on their campus today. Their food services provided the meal and it was excellent. It's cool they have shuttles to drive the students in from the parking lots far away. On that shuttle I met the most amazing, young, smart student. These college students give me hope for the future!!!

Their bowling alley is broken and the balls do not come back in time a they do not keep score correctly

They took forever to change my major, and it cost me money to do it. Even though they already had my records from High School, I had to pay to get them sent again and they had trouble with that. It takes forever to get anything done here. Decent English and Political Science departments though. Expensive.

Weber State is a positively spectacular school. Not only does it have a breath-taking campus, it has a friendly and competent staff, and there is always a group to fit into. I made some incredible friends and connections among the faculty, staff, and student body in my three years here. I still break out into a grin when I tell stories about my time there. In my final year, we hosted the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and I was in charge of the info booth, so I had the opportunity to talk to many students from schools all over the country (and some from even farther!). In particular, I remember one encounter with some boys from the National Naval Academy, who commented on how gorgeous the campus was, how easy it was to find their way around, and how modern and well-equipped the buildings were. They asked me how much it cost for me to go there. I responded, "Oh, about $5,000." "A semester?!" "No, a year." In a cement rectangle that they were going to school in, they paid three times as much. The staff in the English department will bend over backwards to help you grow, succeed, and find your place in life. They challenge you every step of the way, and make sure that you've got a step ahead when you head out into the rest of the world. The Office of Undergraduate Research is also a very under-appreciated department. I started thinking about applying for a grant to attend a writing conference to hone my craft and connect with people in the industry, effectively putting to use the things I had been learning in my creative writing courses; I was told by countless people around campus (mostly student body or people from other departments) that I shouldn't bother, because they don't fund things like that--all the research grants go to science and math. But some of my professors encouraged me, and signed on to the project, even though none of them had ever heard of someone in the student body of the English department applying for a grant. And guess what--I got to go! Every step of the way of applying, applying the funding, and the afterwork was guided by the OUR, and I could not be more grateful to them. I could go on and on about the amazing time I had here and all the opportunities I was given, but I'd rather you go here and make some memories yourself. When I first started going here, I was like most of the local kids: Oh, I'm just going to Weber. Now I never say that. I am very proud of my school, and I always will be.

This school will charge you for the air you breathe there. Even if you have same class as other students in other Universities they will have you buy new expensive books that you will not use ever, OK maybe occasionally a chapter or two. Then parking is horrible got to take shuttle bus for like 45 min to you class after you paid for the car to sit on some remote parkinglot. Advisors refuse to put you in direction of your shorts way to the degree l. I got an answer that " they can not guide me what would be the best direction for me to get BofS, because they are taled to not do that, so that students can wonder what classes to take even if it's not going to favor them for their degree, so to just spend more money." Money money money is what they want, guzzling machine. Horrible Geographical placement and architectural design of every building. There are much better Collages and universities to go to then this one. Trust me, wast of time and money and nerves.

Not a bad school, but also not the greatest. English, communications, and business departments are great but chemistry and math departments are a joke. Math and chemistry are hard classes and 90% of the teachers in charge of those classes love what they are teaching but can't get out of their own minds to teach it. They think everyone is on the same level because it makes so much sense to themselves already. Tuition is a joke. They are slowly getting higher and higher by the year and yet they provide a merely fair education. Most of the money, as many other colleges, goes to sports. That would be fine but they only excel at basketball. Most of the other sports are a free ride for jockeys to get through school with all expenses paid. The school itself doesn't have respect for the students. I've tried to change a few rules on campus including long-boarding. I received a meeting with the school board who promised to keep in contact for the situation but they weren't even polite enough to tell me the out come. All in all. It's an average school where everyone commutes, making extra circular activities worthless and no fun at all. The tuition is too much for what they are giving in return, keep in mind that BYU is less expensive! I've been here for over 3 years and I wouldn't do it again.

Use Weber as an absolute last option. You will not believe how poorly run the university is and how their funds are mismanaged. The consequences of which are paid for soley by the students. Only go to Weber if you have no other option.

Victoria Sethunya

Very poor administration. It took them over 9 years to correct a simple mistake they made in my credentials.

Decent education with lower tuition price. However, for those looking for the fun awesome college experience with a social aspect... this is not the place! Weber is a commuter school and has little to no social atmosphere. The majority of people there just want to get a degree and get out and find a job. Just like any school Weber has some good and bad professors, but the school could use some work in school activities and its social realm.

Coleman Barnson

Professors here are the best thing about the school, athletics are not good, the parking could improve immensely, and the commodities are no where to be seen. Great education for a cheap price.

Douglas Karlinsey

Great school!

I certainly learned a lot here and opened my horizons. I would give five stars, but two are deducted because of how much money I spent. I know it is cheap compared to other universities, but in general, college is too expensive for the average citizen.

class of 1973. The education at Weber prepared me for post grad, doctorate, and 30 year professional career. A very good school indeed.

Well, I don’t think I will be going to Weber University for the Zoology Program. Their customer service is awful, the people in Admissions are terrible, their treat you like a piece of crap, and if you try to transfer credits from a school they don’t like, they will treat you even worse. Weber University has a stupid policy that consists on not transferring credits from National accredited institution. I submitted an Equivalency Review Request late night on last Friday, and this morning before 9:00am, I received an Email from their transfer articulation department reading: “I am sorry but we do not accept any credits from Broadview University. The policy of the university is that we only accept credits for transfer from institutions that are regionally accredited. Broadview University is nationally accredited. “ This was too quick, so I don’t think that the Zoology Program chair took the time to look at it. I think that as soon he saw Broadview University name, he didn’t even go over it. I totally understand the differences between the Regional and National accreditations, but as far I know the Department of Education does not mandate Weber to put this policy in place. It is an internal Weber policy, that to my eyes, it is BS. Broadview is a National Accredited institution that received the accreditation from a recognized accrediting agency. These Accrediting Agencies are recognized by the Secretary of Education as Reliable Authorities. The accreditation of the Accrediting Agencies is based on the quality of education and training provided by the collage in question, in case Broadview. So, if all these high position/government people, including the Secretary of Education (who recognize the Accrediting agency) give accreditation to BVU as a Collage that meets the standards and quality of education, , then who in earth does Weber administration think they are telling my school credits are not good enough to be transferred? They make people feel bad, and they can make you feel small through the way they handle things on this matter. Today I also realized that doing this they are devaluing and underestimating the teaching of one of their own in the Zoology Department. Prof. Jonathan Marshall taught my Biology class, and I think he is a great teacher, too bad that Weber doesn’t think so. Seriously, their admission employees are the worse costumer service I ever encounter.

JOSHUA LOWELL

The largest selection of Undergrad majors and minors in the Utah higher education system and the vast majority are taught by PhDs. If you want to get involved in your own education, just speak up! Professors in every department I know of happily entertain special projects, research, and even small group directed studies. Yeah, there isn't a lot of cutting edge research into nuclear medicine or what have you, but be honest, the likelihood of that landing a spot in those labs is inversely proportional to how many students outrank you. And big ticket prices for the Y or the Y do not guarantee big ticket internships. After 1 year at Weber in microbiology, I was offered a summer position with a government research lab over a BYU dead with a master's because I had the specific courses they wanted which he lacked. I bleed purple for good reasons.

The campus is beautifully taken care of, is compact, and doesn't take too long to walk across. Being built into the hill, walking to the east can be tiring. The continuous addition of new, state of the art facilities is awesome. With the eventual integration of a bus rapid transit system, the campus could easily get 5 stars from me.

Their faculty is one of the best in the universe. However some to most of the administrative staff lack the human touch. Sure there are those who are not in a position of authority who are hands down the greatest you will ever encounter. Not all the staff are unpleasant. The higher they are in the administrative sector, the less they care about individuals. They care more about the numbers, bringing other people down, and walking over them than what's going on with their people. Go for the education but avoid the top brass when necessary.

Zac Morgan

I seriously love this University. Great teachers and resources. A lot of financial aid potential and low cost schooling comparative to other schools. People are super friendly and it feels like a safe campus. Parking complaint from 2018 The parking service is horrible though. They will over sell the W lot parking passes by a long shot, and this year they took away over 100 parking spots for construction and painted the curbs red without compensating the students in any way. They also placed no parking signs in all of the neighborhoods around campus in order to expand their revenue of parking tickets. There is no one to complain to because it is private, even the police officers I have spoken with on campus think the service is terrible. Be prepared to arrive before 7:45 or not find a spot. In the A lot they claim to only sell them to seniors but they will also sell to them to people who donate money to the school. You can park at the Dee events center but be prepared to wait in a line of around a hundred students before getting into the shuttle. It takes me 15-30 minutes to get from my car to the classroom during the day time even though I bought a W pass for $70. If a student doesn't like it, then they will tell them to use the Dee events center or return the pass during the refund period. Last year in winter there was so much ice in the parking spots in the W lots that many cars slid into each other and caused a lot of damage.

Lani McKinnon

Weber State is nothing more then a business, a business who's goal is to take extraordinary amounts of money from students to use for their own ends. The staff are abhorrent, you simply cannot go and get anything done there with out some sort of complication. The parking is also nightmarish, charging students to park when they already make exorbitant amounts on tuition and books. In short DO NOT go here.

Kyle Seljaas

Peter Waite

Eric Mortensen

I love Weber State! My only complaint, and it's a big one, is the parking, or lack thereof. It's so frustrating to pay the extra $80 a year and still not be able to park. I find myself getting there 30-40 minutes early just to wander each different parking lot to find a spot. Then once you're done with class, be prepared to be stalked by potential parking suitors. They either need to build another lot, or limited they parking passes they sell every year. Once the W permits are out, everyone else has to take the shuttle from Dee.

If you are a normal adult and work while going to school, save your money and time by going to Salt Lake community college. This school will just rob your bank account and make it more difficult for you to pay for school while you work. Pell grants couldn't be used due to only being able to go part time, which resulted in me owing them more money with a 12% interest rate on their "loan". They don't care about student success, unless you can successfully give them all of your money.

Thomas A. Dedman

Go here if you want to waste your money, they teach classes like a scam. They hook you in the first month with great teaching, and then when you can't back out they stop teaching. When in my math class I couldn't understand anything because the teacher wouldn't teach. I asked around my classmates who told me they had failed the class one or twice before. They just want your money, and are not interested in bettering your life. Even better is the pile of books that I had to buy that we have not used once in the class, which when the class started I had to buy the "Teachers version" of the book. Ridiculous.

The reason why I give this school a 2 star rating is because of the political propaganda the professors push. This political propaganda was highlighted the year when President Trump was elected. I am politically independent, free from the right and left paragram of American politics. This school is politically left, identical to California State Universities. There is no balance of political views, only a one sided view for liberal ideas. Besides the gross liberal political leaning, it's a great school.

I graduated from Weber State's nursing program, and I really have no complaints. I keep hearing people that HATE their nursing program and how awful and unorganized it is. But I can honestly saw I have nothing bad to say about WSU's nursing program. It was very well organized, they prepared us VERY WELL for the NCLEX, as well as for the real nursing world. I loved it and would highly recommend it!

Weber is an excellent school.

Love this college and would give a 5 star- BUT they need to fix the parking situation. There is NO reason why people should be driving around campus for 20+ minutes just to find a parking spot! Build a parking garage or something!! I pay $80 for an annual pass to still have to park on the road or in the Smith's parking lot..

We filmed a lecture here and really loved this campus. The teachers and staff here are really wonderful people.

I earned my associates degree from another university, then transferred to Weber State for my bachelor's degree. I really enjoyed Weber State and found that my professors really cared about my success. I graduated after two years and had no problem transitioning into my career.

Absolute garbage.

I applied to this college for the chance to meet with a meme legacy, weber cooks. Unfortunately, he had moved into an apartment with 7 natural disaster warnings before I could track him down. Now, I spend most of my free time dwelling on this situation and making apparent great remorse about delaying my flight. Weber has since gone into hiding and I am unable to meet with him, his existence has been forgotten. Weber, if you ever see this.. blink once if you are in danger and I shall be there.

Cassie Shupe

Although the Tuition is cheaper than most schools, nobody here knows what they are talking about. I had a question about where the funds for my student loans went and called financial aid... they told me to call cashiers, when I called cashiers they told me to call financial aid. It was a ping pong back and forth, nobody knows anything! I was also told that the concurrent enrollment credits would go towards my education. I met with a Weber State counselor to talk about what I could take to get to my associates degree before I graduate. I graduated high school thinking I was 2 classes away from my generals being complete... only to find out that only 2 of my 8 classes counted! Waste of time and money! If you live in Ogden and want a school close to home, you can just go here and deal with it. If you don't live here.. DO NOT COME HERE.. waste of time.

Waste of money. Hard to get the help you need. The math program is horrible. They took the teacher tutors out of the hub, and only have student tutors that don't know how to teach, and aren't required to be there during finals week. They just leave you hanging. The professors aren't very knowledgeable. I don't feel like I'm getting an education here. They are also raising the tuition here. And all the staff is getting a raise for a poor job. I heard this from staff directly.

Zac St John

I am quite disappointed with my experience at Weber State. I came with the sole intent of meeting my soulmate, our lord, our savior, the man who will guide us through the end of times; Steven Reed. This living meme of a man prior to my arrival has recently dispatched from the position of Weber Cooks. I am quite disappointed. This man showed me and millions more how to make a not so depressing nacho chili cheese dip and many other exquisite delicacies right from his own bench, with only a microwave by his side, and further more only for only "about a dollar". I recommend that Weber please re-employ this God of a man, so that I shall return and reinstate this review with a 5 star rating once I meet him.

Shaun Hansen

WSU has been ranked one of top schools in the nation for return on tuition investment. I chose WSU over Ivy League opportunities and so did my Dad!

Cameron C

Weber may be a good school if you start there from freshman year, but it is terrible as a transfer student. The department staff for my degree was excellent but the process for financial aid and admissions was terrible. It took nearly 4 months and 3 visits to campus to get my out of state tuition changed to in state. I have lived in Utah my whole life, was married in Utah, and own a home in Utah, but for some reason they had me as out of state tuition. Financial aid had my account in review for 4 months and every time I called in or visited campus they said someone will get to it soon. I cant believe they consider that acceptable, I know they have a bunch of young kids working the offices but come on.

Kyle Hole

Weber is a great school. I've had fantastic professors, a few that weren't so great but youll get that anywhere. It's a nice school that's growing a lot. Not super social because it's a commuter school, but if you put some effort in to be involved, there's a lot to do and lots of people you can meet.
