i got the pamphlet and information to this university and i instantaneously fell in love with the concept and majors that this university offers. I am a junior going to a senior and i know this is the college i would love to attend.

Neumont University offers you various Bachelor degrees which makes it easier to find a job after graduation. It just took me 4 weeks to find one!

2015 NU grad. NU was a good choice for me, but isn't for everyone. NU offered many opportunities to go above and beyond. I highly recommend verifying that coding is interesting before picking NU. If you want a faced paced environment to learn coding that allows going above and beyond then NU might be right for ya. Side notes: I haven't attended any other colleges so I don't have any comparisons original review Currently a student at Neumont. There are some amazing teachers here and lots of opportunity for assistance. Neumont is a for profit college so it isn't cheap, but that also means that it is in their best interest to get their students the best education and into the workforce. I have seen many graduates being fought over for jobs. I'm looking forward to continuing my education under this great institution.

It's college... for CS students. I decided that this was not the right career path for me. In Neumont you will start with all the same classes before you choose your degree - there are only five programs here, no joke. The teachers do care about your success and it does help a lot, but many classes do assign student graders/tutors which can be a bit more frustrating to deal with. I had a student grader who would give me a 0 on an assignment and then not re-grade it when it was submitted... Neumont College isn't the right fit for everyone. It's more expensive than the U of U, which is said to have a great CS program. Everything moves a mile a minute starting 2nd Quarter, and the pace can be overwhelming for some people. If you're considering Neumont, I HIGHLY recommend self-studying Java BEFORE you get here so that you can have a much easier time passing CS110 and CS150. I absolutely wish I knew more about programming going in. Furthermore there just aren't that many girls at this school. The nerd culture is strong here though so if you like to play Magic The Gathering, Smash Bros or League of Legends, etc there's a club for you. And even if you don't, everyone will be able to understand you a bit better than normal people would. On a worse note though, the roommates I got apparently saw chores as a foreign concept, so sometimes I ended up doing all the cleaning in every area except the other bedroom and its bathroom...

I graduated and got the job offers they talked about, but I ultimately regret going to Neumont. The amount of debt I have because of it, and the predatory lending through the school when I had no options left and half a degree have left me very dissatisfied. The only thing that was unique to Neumont is Enterprise projects and those are just glorified internships. Easily obtainable without the school. I do not recommend Neumont University.

As a current student Neumont is great! Neumon has small class sizes, around 30 students, so the teachers really get to know you. You also have multiple classes with the same teachers so they get to learn your learning style to make the material as easy as possible while still being challenging. That being said Neumont isn't for everyone. This school is what I like to call a fire hose of knowledge. Since you are only in a class for a maximum of 10 weeks and have to put an entire semester of knowledge into those 10 weeks the classes go by quickly. There have been multiple weeks where I haven't gotten any free time and have just been working on school projects. Neumont isn't a normal college. If you want the "college experience" of partying, drinking, football games, etc. Neumont definitely isn't that. If you are looking for a school to coast through Neumont isn't that either. I am constantly working on at least 2 projects at any given point, and they all have hard deadlines like the real world. Neumont has a great setting right in the heart of salt lake city which makes going out for lunch/dinner really easy. Its also filled to the brim with nerds so you'll have to get used to that if you aren't already. The teachers also cater the classes to what the students want to learn. One of my favorite teachers will ask if we have questions on with anything we've worked with and bend the class incorporate that thing. An example of this is at the beginning of the quarter most of us, CS students who hadn't done a bunch of group projects, didn't know how to use GIT. So our instructor made an assignment to get us used to the basics of GIT then made most of the projects for the class require groups. This not only taught us the new language we were learning, it also helped us get familiar with GIT. TLDR: Neumont is great if you can keep up. If you aren't willing to give up weeks at a time you will fall behind. If you are willing to do that then you will most likely succeed and have job offerings before you graduate like I have.

My son started Neumont this year. Neumont has made me feel very comfortable leaving my son 2000 miles away from home. They have so many services available to help him adjust to adult life. So very impressed. Also impressed that the school's focus is on preparing him for a productive career while also encouraging appropriate use of down time. We visited several other schools where the focus was on clubs, extra-curricular activities, social life, sports, and how easy success would be; not very real world. Neumont made it clear it would not be easy, but also made it clear that those who want to succeed will be given every possible support they can need to do so. The best place for him.

I am currently seven quarters into the ten quarter, two and a half year, Bachelors in Computer Science. Thus far I have learned a lot about programing and good practice. I have also had experience working in project teams and focusing on how we will be working in industry. Thanks

Well, I received a "typical four year computer science education" and then found Neumont. Neumont has a much better hands-on teaching model aligned to industry need. Neumont incorporates all aspects of what makes a good developer with coding skills, soft skills, and all around a great interactive hands on experience. Recommended for all

I don't recommend. You can achieve these degrees/certificates from a cheaper University. Newmont offers the same education as many other recognized universities.

I'm giving this school a bad rating because of the high cost of tuition and the high demand of this school. I went to the a quick interview with an admissions rep from this school about 8 years ago. I asked how much? He seemed pretty surprise on that being my first question. He told me $100,000. I was thinking WOW THAT'S REALLY EXPENSIVE! Probably more expensive now. He asked about my personal life and if I worked. I said yes and told him I live with my girlfriend. He asked if my girlfriend can support me while I go through this school? Him asking me that tells me I really need to live here and that I can only study and sleep when I'm at home. My girlfriend has to support the both of us. No thanks. Too much money and way too much demand on my life. I want to have fun too while I go to school. Be careful with this school.

There are a lot of things that I like about this school and some things that I also dislike. Positively, the school's rigorous program is designed that way as more than just a way to push out 2.5 year bachelor degrees. It provides fast paced learning and tight deadlines in order to push students(the majority of which are high school graduates) out of their comfort zone and more into a real world scenario. The system is good but isn't perfect. Students and educator faculty alike complain that sometimes courses are scheduled poorly. However it isn't so bad as to break momentum, as everyone is very capable of persevering through it. Speaking of faculty, the staff here is for the most part top notch. Beyond just the educators, most of the staff is extremely competent and industry professionals. There are some staff members that fall below par but that's to be expected in any business(being a for profit school, that is essentially what Neumont is). My biggest complain in this department is their hiring process. Too often I see new adjuncts who join the staff and are either completely incompetent as to what this school is about or just plain out incompetent as an instructor. The big problem is that sometimes these new hires don't go through a training period at all and are given classes right away, only to do extremely poorly and fired within a quarter or two. While it's great that Neumont is good at getting rid of those that perform poorly, the damage remains as the students who go through their courses are now at a disadvantage to their peers who received above par instruction. While that may not be as important for general ed classes like statistics or ethics, it's extremely important when that situation arises in a core class like Intro to CS. Other than that, they actually have a really great system going. Support for students, be that financial or mental/emotional, is readily available and important to the school. Services are varied and useful. Students have access to a variety of extracurricular activities through clubs and school hosted events. Students get great opportunities that they would miss in a standard educational environment through the Capstone and Enterprise Projects. They have staff that are pretty much dedicated to helping upcoming graduates with preparing their resumes and getting them out to employers. This review was written as a currently attending student.

Studying at Neumont was a very enjoyable experience. As long as you're willing to put in the time and effort, you can learn a lot in a short time. I liked the focus on almost always working on projects in groups as well, and being able to get a taste of real-world projects before graduating. The only reason it gets knocked down a star is that a lot of administrative stuff makes it apparent that the school for-profit. Thankfully, the staff generally demonstrate that they care about the students, so some of that is mitigated through them. Overall, I'd recommend it.
