Run by a bunch of morons, I would be highly suprised if anyone with half a brain or a lick of common sense is involved in the day to day administration. From mandatory career sucess classes that students universally agree are a complete owaste of time to testing centers that won't let you test if you're facial hair grows throughout the day. If only they'd take the effort to practice what they breach at least in part, they could have a much better experience to provide to their students. If you're looking to go here because it's cheap go for it, that's about all it's worth. Also no matter what they tell you the majority of your credits won't transfer anywhere else except a select few Utah schools.

Overall I had a very positive experience here. However, the two cons I can think of are a big deal. Some if the teachers have very little watching experience (although they usually work in an occupation that matches the subjects they teach. But the biggest frustration is that the ENTIRE school (even the advisors it seems) are ran by students. It just seemed like hardly of the student employees held themselves accountable. Other than that, it's a great institution.

This college changed my life. Although the last statement may sound somewhat cliche, its true. I entered the college a boy and emerged a man of God. There were teachers that I made as lifelong friends, there are teachers which I hung out with (my family and I) outside of class, there are teachers that I had thanksgiving dinner with, there are teachers that gave me priesthood blessings, there are teachers which I shared tears of joy with on many occasions, there are teachers in this college which helped me with challenges outside of class and lastly all the teachers I had changed my life for the better. You get secular learning with spiritual teachings. No better place to grow.

LDSBC is for people who want to save money and time to get a great education with a career path at the end of two years while building their testimony in the Christ. I love it here. And people who are here for the right reasons love it as well.

Great school, I knew most of the stuffs but I still needed to go there. Teachers are great, some of them are a little bit too kooky because they owned some blogs. Besides that, excellent place and you will make friends with very nice people. Affordable too btw.

I transferred to LDSBC from SLCC, and it was probably the best move of my educational career up to this point. Since class sizes are small, instructors are able to help on a more personal level. They learn your name and want you to succeed.

I am not a student here, but theyre refunding process is crazy.. i had to go through so many different instructions everytime i call.. alot of misinformation. It was for my brother in law but didnt get the visa and i payed the deposit with my card.. first call, i called the cashiers office they told me i had to call admissions first to approve the refund.. called admissions.. then, admissions told me to email the request.. sent the email.. a week later i call back the cashiers office... they said i still need to call the admissions, now theyre telling me classes must be dropped, needed to log in and withdraw from all classes.. ok fine, i got the log in and withdraw from all classes... a week later i called again to try to get it refunded finally.. well again they said its not approved yet so i need to call admissions again.. wow... called admissions... they are saying they havent got the email.... i explained the whole process i have been going through...they said they needed the email as proof.. i told them hasnt the student withdrawn fron all classes? They made a call to someone and they told me they will approved it... called the next day to cashiers office.. finally they can process the refund but not back to the card i used but in a check which will either be mailed or i will need to pick up.... and so i asked if its the full refund... they said minus the cost of sending the i20.. ok thats fine.. so i asked how much it was to send the i20 and this guy just said," im not allowed to give that information for privacy of the student.. i will need login and password to give you that information" .. wow.... seriously.. he cannot tell me how much it costs to send the i20 to any international student because why?? Anyways i just said really? Thats funny.. ok..... anyways the check willbe ready in a few days and ill need to pick it up there........ i know theres a better, more efficient way to do this. The end.

After graduating and finding the no other schools accept LDSBC for transfer for continuing education, I have realized that attending LDSBC was mistake for future education. None the less, the college in itself is not bad, for the few programs it does offer they are all good quality. Most of the "degrees" are targeted at getting you job quickly out of college. Would not recommend if you want to continue your education and get higher education degrees.

There are few things I love more than LDSBC (GO LIONS) and before you ask anything, yes there is a mascot and it is the mighty and proud Lion. This college is amazing and can give you a lot of great connections if you work it right.

I really enjoyed my time here at the LDSBC. sure, if you arent used to our standards, dress codes, and doctrines along with church history you may have a rough time adjusting to the culture that is here. im very sorry to say that we can be pretty judgemental (or come off that way) of people who attend our institutions but do not accept our beliefs, but i personally found this college to be a great place of learning and education. if you are smart about your schedule and graduation requirements you can get through this college very quickly and into your desired field of work sooner. but, really, youre going to a mormon church school, or, i should say you are going to a school that belongs to and is run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. its going to have high moral standards, lots of people who have grown up in our faith (some of whom have [unfortunately] probably never even considered the beliefs of others to be of great value to them) and requirements that reflect not only intellectual progression but spiritual as well. if you get in and dont like it, feel free to try and transfer out. I personally love it here and look forward to using my education for not only myself but for my future family as well.

It was a great blessing to be part of this institution. Student like me from a third world country would never be able to afford to come in this school but Heavens Open and provide all my needs. I know thier is a purpose why I am here and my skills and talents will be of great help to others. Thank you LDSBC.

I was really excited to go to this school until I actually was halfway through with it. Some teachers just show up, give you busy work and then grade you on the busy work while you don’t get much out of the class. The classes that are more hands on are the classes you will actually learn something. While I was in a math class they decided to change the whole curriculum to if you don’t pass 1 test you fail the class...what?? If I don’t pass 1 test I the class? It made it worthless to go to class if you didn’t pass the test, but they would tell you you still need to come to class so you can learn everything for the year then try again next time. The offices were a joke when it came to recording classes. I was in the Advanced English class, which had a prerequisite of passing ENG 101. I signed up for the class, passed the class, then got told I need to still do ENG 101 even though I just passed ENG 201. They would not admit that I was admitted to a class that I was either not supposed to be in, or just give me the credit for the ENG 101 class. The other thing that bothered me was that since the classes I was in didn’t require books, they decided that they would half way through my whole degree start charging a “subscription fee”. It gave you access to put in there articles that they would publish to the other classes and the school. I had no desire to write articles up in my free time nor did I want to read articles from other people but still they made you pay a subsricption for the degree. They said it would be refunded, but I never saw anything back to me or to my student account. I’m happy to say I finished with that school and would not recommend people to go there. Sure tuition is cheap but you can get a better degree somewhere else. The only reason why I gave this 2 stars is because of the head of counseling was kind enough to work with me and get me set up to graduate and move on. He worked hard because others didn’t want to. I’m gradteful for him but again, if you want to get a degree that some places may overlook, go here. If you want cheap tuition, go here.

I haven’t graduated yet and I cannot wait to leave his college. I have had one of the worst semester ever! From a professor who put his course together 2 weeks before the semester started (I formation given by the program director) to the cashier’s office having the worst communication skills that I have ever seen. I do not recommend this school to anyone, member or non-member. I have been part of the church since I was a kid and the thought of attending a school that focuses on learning by he spirit got me really happy and excited! The only department that will help you get things done is the help desk. The people there are awesome and do care about students and their college life. The church really needs to focus on this schoo more than they focus on BYU. BYU is doing great while this school is falling apart. If you ask any student they will share a bad experience they have had with a professor or staff in the college. Lastly, do matter how many times you complain or how hard you work, they will not care and let not do anything to make things right for you

THIS IS A TECH SCHOOL DON'T BE FOOLED, YOUR DEGREE IS NOT THE SAME AS WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTING. I tried finding jobs with the degree they offer and no one takes it, it's practically meaningless. Trying to transfer your credits out it's such a hassle since it seems that the student workers have no idea what they're doing.

If you're looking for a place that has high moral values and teaches valuable skills to get out of your dead end job, this is the College for you. The faculty and staff treat you like family, tuition is reasonable, and they have programs such as interior design, medical coding, as well as business entrepreneurship. Want to get your business idea off the ground, but not sure how to do it? LDSBC can help! I love the spiritual environment of this place. If that's what you're looking for, I'd check them out.

I want to start off by saying I have been graduated from LDSBC for over 2 years and to this day my frustration for this school remains. I went there for 2 years and ended up with 2 degrees. My first year things went pretty smooth, classes were nice and tuition was reasonable. On my second to last semester I met with a councilor to make sure I had taken every class needed for my 2 degrees. She told me I was good to go. I submitted my classes and was told I qualified to graduate on my goal semester. I graduated and was sent my diploma about a month and a half later. About a year after that I applied for a job that included a background check and informed me that LDS Business College said I did not graduate and was short 1 credit. Thats right ONE CREDIT. Not a class. A credit. HOW? I called the school myself and emailed them a picture of my diploma. After about 3 hours on the phone they found some error in my record and sent me 3 new diplomas. Don't ask me what Im going to do with 4 diplomas but they sent them. I think the teachers are great and its a good transition school but THE STUDENTS WORKING AT THE SCHOOL are really poor. Having been at a 4 year university for several semesters I can say my registration, financial aid, cashiers office, or anything that comes close to touching my ability to graduate has only been handled by adults who take their jobs seriously.

The faculty are incredibly well-educated, experiences, kind, and spiritual. There is a nice standard of morality upheld here. The best part is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is brought into all parts of our education. I can't imagine a better learning environment. This is great school.

The LDS Business College is a great place to start your education. While the campus of the college is small in size, the amount of information and knowledge that you can learn from this place is amazing. I am forever grateful for the teachers, friends and people I met in this place. Wow...talk about a flash back to high school! LDSBC is like High School all over again. If you have any hint of a life outside of school, your grades will suffer. I have a family that sometimes needs my time when i have class. If there is an emergency or any other matters that need to be taken care of at home and I cannot make it to class--I get punished. This school grades you based on attendance and does not let you have any reason not to attend class. I have attended other colleges before and this is the first where I have been graded on attendance. I mean come on, are we not all adults? If I make the decision to miss a few classes but still keep up in homework, do well on tests, etc--why do I have to be negatively impacted so harshly? My grades have suffered to the point where I have not been able to pass just because of a few missed classes here and there for valid reason taking care of my wife and our child. I really do not get how LDSBC lets people be adults. The school is fostering behavior to be like children and not grow to adulthood. Shame, shame you missed class, that is 20 pts deducted from your grade! Really?! Almost forgot to add, do not trust brainhoney one bit! If you do you will find that all semseter long brainhoney will say an A but then when it comes to looking at your transcript you will see you dropped two letter grades. Why this happens? I have no idea. Some teachers have a personal grade book that is exactly opposite of what brainhoney is grading you on. What are these teachers thinking? Thanks for ruining my GPA. Oh brainhoney says im all up to date on assignements and im doing really well, false sense of security. Be on your toes! The school has a great atmosphere and a handful of amazing teachers. The huge downside is the fact that we are treated like high school children instead of adults, a major reason why I am not able to enjoy this school.

Mike Smith

Extremely impressed with this institution!

Stephen Ferneliuss

I attended to find they do not permit any kind of facial hair. Also most classes begin with a prayer and usually require you to use really advanced technology. They assume you know how to use the technology without further instruction.

Rachel Hall

Great collage! it's awesome when you can have smaller groups in the class and be close to the teachers. The difference to a place like BYU where you have hundreds of people on the classroom and the teacher can't even recognized your face. LDS business collage is one of the most amazing colleges in Utah and is a great place to make good friends and connections.

Incredibly simple, but complete. I loved studying here because the teachers and I got to have a close relationship as student-teacher. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for an economic and a complete education.

LDS Business College is a good institution, broadly speaking. I was both a student and part time employee there. My major was Executive Medical Assistant and I must say it was alright. Going through the program taught me what was necessary, and sufficiently prepared me for the certification exam, and I passed it on first attempt. I got a job easily thereafter as promised, but soon learned that the M.A field is does not pay very well. I think I understand why, to an extent. When I got employed I found out that some M.As working there did not even go through a 2 year program. They did some couple months program elsewhere and here we are now in the same position. Could be why it’s low paying? Anyway, my conclusion is that the 2 year program is not worth it, you waste a lot of time and money going through it all! I feel this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Do not go into Medical Assisting if you’re expecting to fend for a family with that income. You have been warned! That program needs to be revisited. Look at what it provides and what opportunities it brings and consider whether it’s worth people’s time and money to go through it. I beg of you - the powers that be.

Cory Nichols

There are many issues with this school. It has the idea that group projects still work. You ask any student if they enjoy group projects and 90 percent of them will say no. Now lets try online group projects. Lets make 5 people who have never met each other try to create a project that could easily been done alone. Make the instructions for the assignment confusing and give no direction on how they coordinate. Maybe if school offered students a alternative non-group assignment, they would figure out how much students don't want group work. Next the school has terrible parking. Getting marked points for being late because there were no parking spots is stupid. I was refused service at the administrations desk because I forgot to shave after working a 12 hour shift. Thank you LDSBC. One of my classes only allows a person to access assignments on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. Otherwise you fail them. You cannot access them early. WHY NOT? no reason given when I asked. You name a college student who doesn't work weekends and I will tell you they have rich parents. The BC cafe sucks and is overpriced for what is given. My favorite was my media marketing class. A class that focuses on using media and marketing. This classes website was unworkable. It did not even give the dates of assignments. You would think that media marketing teachers could design their program to run as nicely as the English one. The best part is, there was no forgiveness from any of my teachers to help me out when I got married. My wife's professors (she goes to the U) allowed her to turn in late assignments and excused her from class. Not mine. I went from A to a D- because I thought I was caught up but they added assignments on my wedding day that I was not aware of. This school sucks. All they care about it holding up their image of being a church school and not whether or not their students learn. Don't waste your time RMs, go to the U instead. They wont cancel class without notification. Finals are a mess. There seems to be no clear instructions on how the finals work, what is expected, and when the due dates are. Most students are confused by brightspace (the homework system). I am sick of answering questions that test my memorization skills and not what I actually learned. I found out that if I want to transfer, my credits are pretty much worthless to other schools. Apparently, most other schools in Salt Lake don't give a rip about LDSBC. So I guess i either stick to this "school" or I throw a 5 class semester in the trash. Lastly and MOST IMPORTANT, this terrible school follows the same Honor Code Rape Policy that BYU does. Basically, if you get raped, you could get kicked out for the breaking the Honor Code, which makes rape victims never never come forward. GOOD LDSBC, YOU ARE A HORRIBLE SCHOOL

Benjamin Miller

Speaking as a student in his final semester, this school needs some help. The teachers that have jobs elsewhere, bring a greater perspective to each class studied; but the full time staff are very outdated. Most have been out of the workforce for well over 10 years, and are teaching from older materials. The student staff need better training and seem to just not care; trying to get you out of their way as fast as possible, without resolving the issue until it is too late and then saying they told you. Let me be clear; an email is not the best way to communicate any important information. No one but LDSBC employees live at their computers, looking for emails. We have real lives, with second and sometimes even third jobs. It also doesn’t help when you are unable to email my primary mode of email, which I noted on the first day of school. If you do poorly in a class (which happened to me, my fault I know) they interrogate you and make it more difficult to take the class again.By the way, if I’M paying YOU for a class, or service, don’t make it difficult to spend MY money! It seems all this school is worried about is forging their approval and graduation ratings, instead of actually helping students get the education they need. So shameful.

The downtown location is great - accessible to public transportation &c. I have nothing but good things to say about the classes themselves; for the most part, the teachers seem genuinely concerned with our progress. The only poorly planned feature of the college is the library itself. The silent study area is adjacent to the checkout desk, and it's sometimes hard to find a study space that's actually silent. If you're okay with some noise, there's plenty of study space throughout the college.

Jon Moore

I had a great experience here at LDS business college! I met made million dollar connect with people! I learned so much about a better way to learn! The college is a great place to be!

Stephen Fernelius

I attend the college and my belief is it is a wonderful beyond expectation school. The downside is the group projects and the idea of having student advising during the day and not in the evening where some students only study.

Wendy Porter

The paralegal studies program is parallel to what you would study in a law school, but it is more hands-on and application based. I am impressed.

I am really disappointed at the way I've been treated at this school. All the administration offices I have dealt with don't seem to know anything. One person tells me one thing and another person tells me something completely different. For example, my ecclesiastical endorsement was an absolute headache. I called and they said they didn't receive the endorsement which my bishop had sent three months ahead and after more than a dozen calls one person seemed to magically find it. Then my transcripts were not all added to the school, which it took me several visits to the advising department to get it corrected. Then I was told by the department director that I could take certain classes at SLCC and transfer them but after I did, they wouldn't take them. Also, emails from the director are not returned because he says, "he is too busy". When I have called the school during the day, I have rarely been able to talk to a live person. I have left messages and I don't get calls back. The classes are amazing and well taught but the administration has been an absolute nightmare and I'm seriously considering transferring.

Jerry Cortes

The teachers and the program in my eyes are great. A great place to study. The staff in the second floor however aren't very welcoming nor do they show good customer service.

LDSBC IS GREAT PLACE TO START YOUR EDUCATION

I did the entrepreneurship program. Went there for 3 years. I had teachers that had never owned businesses teaching me how to start and run a business. Required classes that taught me how to build a resume and interview for a job (not the other way around). Social media marketing classes that were so embarrassing the teacher was praising a student because he read a graph properly. Sales classes teaching the art of manipulating the conversation SPIN selling. The classes were so easy I couldn’t take it anymore. Tried to test out of everything. Only a few classes challenged me; economics, accounting & law. Math teacher literally gave us the answers to every quiz (every exam was built from quizzes and all notes and books were allowed in the exam? Was too easy) I’ll never forget one lecture the guest speaker actually was convinced Walmart was scared of Dollar Tree as a competitor. Brainhoney and other software required for homework was so complicated I could never figure out where my hw was or how to turn it in. The teachers dock you “points” for being on your phone or laptop. I’m I in high school again? I left the school with only 1 semester left because it was a complete waste of my time. My classes were so easy everything seemed so pointless. (Except econ and accounting) High school was much more challenging for me. I recommend Ldsbc for people who want a piece of paper saying they accomplished something not to people who want to actually accomplish something. Was required to start a businesss one semester and generate $1,500 with it. I did that and had it done 2 days later. I didn’t go the rest of the semester and still got an A. :( Nice facility with good intentions. It’s a religious school which was awesome but there’s too much focus on spiritual and not enough on academia. I’m embarrassed to have gone there. Today I have 12 employees and have started 2 more businesses. I learned 10X more from good books than I did at lds business college. Never stop learning.

*Read before you enroll* I attended LDS Business College during Fall 2018 semester taking 12+ credits. I decided not to continue my education there for a few reasons detailed below. I will say, there are many amazing teachers who are very supportive and willing to provide you the help you need. This is not a reflection on the teaching or professors, rather the administrations approach to education and the lack of resources provided to help students individual needs. 1. Mandatory career prep courses that provided little value to more experienced students. As someone who has a career and was looking to complete a few generals courses, I was required to take a 1 credit hour career prep course that “taught” me how to write a resume and interview at a job. Having already had experience in a professional job setting, I found this to be a complete waste of time and money. Many older students also felt the same way, as it was slightly belittling to have a teacher assign you 6 hours of “Resume” homework a week for a 1 credit hour course that benefitted experienced individuals in no way. There was also no way to graduate without taking the 2 required career prep courses. 2. No access to academic advising. The majority of administrative employees at LDS are fellow students. While this provides many job opportunities, students were unable to access an actual academic advisor without first jumping through many hoops. I am told the situation has improved and they’ve hired more advisors, but during my time at LDS Business College I was unable to ever meet with an advisor, and was frequently told that academic advisors weren’t available and to pose my questions to student employees. Each time I was given different information regarding classes, course requirements, and transfer guidelines. As a result, I enrolled in 2 courses I didn’t need based on student employees recommendations and wasted my time and money. 3. Tutoring lab policies. Any attempts to receive tutoring were often met by tutors informing students that they were unable to help or assist, except in a very specific manner. As an example, often times students walked into an English tutoring lab, as the Math lab was full or unavailable, and upon finding no other students requiring English help, would ask a tutor who worked both Math and English a quick Math question. Tutors were happy to help but eventually were told by administration they were forbidden from helping any students with questions other than English. Another example involves international students learning English. Tutors are forbidden from pointing out grammatical errors, instead force students to find them on their own. I am also told recently there was a new policy enforced that prevented tutors from even being able to assist with homework problems. Instead, students were required to create their own questions, after which a tutor can assist them. It seems obvious this manner of operation is counterintuitive to real, lasting learning, and instead forces students to yet again, jump through countless hoops to receive simple answers to questions they need assistance on. While it is important that tutors aren’t just doing students homework, it might be helpful to review the real effects of policy and reevaluate the administrations approach. In my experience LDS Business Colleges approach to education comes from the heart, but was extremely inhibited by its countless, learning-preventative policies. Resources need to be readily available to students in the form of easy access to academic advising. Tutors should be empowered to really assist and teach students in their learning styles. And finally, career/college prep courses should have an option to “test out” or they should no longer be mandatory. Don’t read this review and fall into the trap of thinking LDS Business College is a terrible school. Just do your research and make an informed decision.

Great atmosphere. The methods teachers use to teach are very good. Brother McDougal and Brother Brophy were my favorite teachers in the school.

My Elderly parents studied and passed their self-relience classes and have been given certificates by the Bishop of Yosemite Ward signed by the Self-Relience Manager, Bishop, President of LDS Business College, and the Chairman/Board of Trustees which is our Prophet. LDS Business College has changed my life in so many ways. I wouldn't be where I am now without it. The professors care so deeply, and are actively involved with our success beyond college. I would recommend this college to anyone that is looking to start their college life. The only downside is, it is a 2 year college, so if you’re going to shoot for a bachelors or a masters be prepared to transfer to a different university.

I enjoyed my time in LDS Business College. It has a great environment to work and study. I’ve learned things that I can use in my daily life and work. It also has lot of friendly people to welcome you to the school.

Couldn't have asked for a better college experience! The teachers are fantastic and always care about their students and how they can help them through classes. The school is good about finding students jobs on campus or through the church if they need financial assistance. There are also a lot of scholarships available which is really helpful, just apply early because some are on a first come first serve basis. I love this college, the education I received, and the friends I have made while I've been here! I highly recommend this school!!

I got to sit in on a class with my wife and loved the small class sizes and how friendly the professor was. The location is great as well with the parking garage

I’ve been recommending this college to many of my friends. Here’s a few reasons why: (1) It’s a small environment. This means the teachers and professors know you personally. That helped me out. (2) It’s an LDS school that values God in each class and starts each class with a prayer. If you’re Mormon or not, religious or not, it has a very uplifting environment. All are welcome to attend. (3) It’s relatively inexpensive. (4) The IT department is extremely hands on. Though I don’t care for the certificates, the courses are designed to teach through experience. This is what drew me in from UNLV. (5) It’s location is downtown SLC. (6) Devotionals are held on Temple Square.

I’ve had some of the greatest teachers here who have changed my life. You can tell that everyone here is doing their best to help each student succeed in life.

This review is for the admissions office and student employees. Student employees are completely incompetent. After 5 months of being graduated I still haven't received my diploma. I called in and was told the process takes 2-3 months.. After several calls I get the same answer, "it'll be here this week". Well now that has been 2 months I am frustrated and upset with the employees. This is a wonderful school, but I don't understand why employees lie and are not diligent in their work. Teachers and programs are absolutely amazing, the student employees are the only down fall of this College. I am still in the process of getting my diploma and I have been waiting to hear back from the supervisor for a couple weeks (surprise, nothing has happened).

Great school to go to, and it really is worth every penny you pay here

Great school! I now attended the U of U and I know the BC has prepared me well. The only bad side (and it's a big one) credits are the worst at transferring. Credits earned at the BC hardly transfer to BYU or the U. I believe the only schools they travel well to is UVU and SUU.

My experience at LDS BC was awesome! I really felt the love of the faculty and fellow students.

Waste of time and money. Enter robotic response from a student put in charge of social media with no experience...we hope to help change your perception of LDSBC. Get rid of your medical administrative program and give me my money back.

I love LDSBC. I attended the Business Management Transfer degree and loved ever single minute. The teachers were the best I have ever had (better than my Bachelors degree teachers). The teachers real world experience cannot be beaten. I took accounting classes from a man who was a State Auditor for MANY years and after retiring decided to teach. He taught from actual first hand knowledge and was able to bring passion and excitement to accounting classes. I took classes from a former EBay VP, a former bank president, and a myriad of other credentialed professors. I would have stayed at LDSBC for all four years if they had offered bachelors degree programs. I HIGHLY recommend LDSBC. It is a top notch organization and place of learning.
