What a disgrace to human kind! The foul newspaper article calling for the death of white people was not only the definition of hate speech, but reeked of the ultimate exhibition of RACISM! Your school should be ashamed for supporting this behavior!

The lady on the phone was very helpful. Im a new student.

Charles Duoto

I had a very fun college experience here. For my undergraduate work I studied in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the McCoy College of Business. I had a great time being part of the student run radio station, KTSW. Overall the campus is beautiful, and the professors really care about the students. I'm currently getting my masters degree here.

Clint Potter

In love with this university! Go Cats Go!

Rafael Hernanndez

horrible! never go there they are the worst

Good uni

Stephanie Perez

This beautiful campus has given me so many opportunities to improve myself in more ways than just academics ❤️ I have fallen in love with the community as well as the university, there is only one downfall that I take as a pro and a con; it's becoming more and more over crowded! I understand that the university is growing but they should also accommodate for these growing numbers :/

Dayana Jacinto

A school that approves with female students attacking pregnant ladies.

Dillon Magee

I loved my time at Texas State University! The professors are knowledgable and the campus is beautiful! Plenty of clubs and organizations to get involved in and the school is constantly growing. If you go to this school you are bound to get a great education and make great friends along the way!

Shay'ria Love

I love the college me and my boyfriend is going there after high school. Im taken up social bussiness

Deity V

The administration don't take care of their students. If you have the opportunity, go to any other college.

Sam Ortiz

Went there in the summer and completely fell in love with everything it had to offer

Marie Ysais

Best college in Texas. Pricing is better than most schools and the classroom sizes are smaller. The campus is beautiful and great staff. If you follow the rules and turn in the assignments you won’t have any issues. The location of this school is perfect. This is a school you must visit before making your decision.

Michael Mendez

Great school and great faculty! I was having issues with the veteran affairs office and ended up working with the assistant Dean for a few weeks to get some changes done. If you don't like something, don't just complain, do something to fix it so later students don't have to deal with it!

Billy Tsororos

I was planning on attending, but later decided I would go to a different school instead. Somehow, I'm being charged hundreds of dollars all because I never canceled my orientation. I still get emails from this school as if I am a student there. Oh, and go Longhorns!

Grant Grazier

Great campus with amazing people. Go bobcats!

Isabella Wisinger

Came here four years ago and I'm damn glad I did.

Bruno Lopez

Mac Ennis

Beautiful campus, great city

Sans Pareil

I wish you could review the school by way of department. Yes. The school is mostly bimbos and meatheads well sort of. Party goer types. However their allied health professions programs are good and if you want to do anything like ot pt at this is a good school for that. Some classes are offered here to undergraduates which are graduate courses at other universities. the 3 stars has more to do with the typical tsu student. Good resources for students but yes it is still a party school. I havent encountered another school where surfer shorts and bikinis are the norm. party on dudes.

Siobhan Cutler

The administration was completely useless and acted like I was bothering them. The first person I spoke with in the undergraduate department couldn't even tell me the building the online department was and after driving 6 hours round trip to look into their online degree plan options and walking around the terribly mapped out campus, I was told by an older woman with an English accent that the texas state online degree doesn't actually exist. Meaning a student would not graduate with Texas State credentials utilizing this extended studies program. She was also very uneager to help me with anything... What exactly is the point? Texas State University previously Sam Houston University is still a "party school" and a joke. A circus of administration to be more specific. And a waste of time. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Anywhere else. Have fun with the big hill and big attitudes.

Brian Corral

Love this university! Honestly the best place to go in Texas!

Daphanie Brown

This school is great, but the main campus is like party central, this place sucks on parking and staff...

Kristen Kayata

Love the area and the atmosphere!

Nate Hoffy

Racism is not something you should promote.

Brian Pendleton

He is wonderful...a real John Wayne

Charles Graves

I respect free speech from all sides. I don't think it's cool that Elizabeth Bishop (who is a professor here), tried to ruin the lives of 2 people (one of whom is a student at this college), by calling up their jobs and trying to get them fired... and also not cool that she falsely lied about them.... and she did all this just because she disagreed with them politically! She claimed they did "hate speech" when all they had done is disagree with her on the effectiveness of capitalism vs communism, and about whether someone in particular had been a criminal or not. (Spoiler alert: Elizabeth Bishop supported communism and anti-american sentiments. Surprise, surprise.) (However I'm not saying she deserves to be fired for her views, or anything like that. But she definitely should be talked to, about why she thinks its ok to try to punish people just for disagreeing with her? Why does she vilify people so much just because they don't share her radical ideology?) None of what the 2 people she attacked, said, constitutes hate speech, and liberals seem to want to all too often use the phrase "hate speech" to punish, condemn or silence those who they disagree with. This is a bad habit that really needs to change. Not saying that there aren't some conservatives guilty of it too. The BOTTOM LINE is that we as Americans need to respect the FREE SPEECH of ALL people, all walks of life, and we all should try and be respectful of each other. We shouldn't demonize someone just because they disagree.

Veronica Fabian

Amazing school. Friendly people, great environment. People are down to earth and not like UT down the road. Austin and San Antonio down the road. River is a great place to relax. <3 this place

Ben Dickey

Dunkin donuts sucks here....this is the double bacon sandwich....save your money kids

Anjii

Great Uni.

Nate Shenk

I love you Texas State

Ron Byrnes

The best University in Texas where the Texas Lacrosse Magazine featured Lacrosse team - The Bobcats came from.

sam

i like the campus but i wish i could have just one lesson in class that isn't about politics or somehow a liberal view can i just learn for gods sake also hate giving my money to a school who "hates my DNA"

Eric Algoe

The best university in Texas. Go Bobcats!

Jonluke Davis

Such a great campus! I loved going to Texas State and can't say enough good things about it. Everyone there is very friendly and they always have something going on in the Quad (main part of campus) whether it's serving breakfast or selling various fundraiser items, there is always something happening. Not to mention the abundance of activities and help groups you can get involved in. For example, at Alkek (the library), they have free tutors on the 4th floor that you can get help with if you're having trouble with your classes or just need help with a homework problem. There is also a lot of computers at the library you can use for printing etc. They also have floors you can study on (5th floor - 7th floor) that are silent so you won't get distracted. My best advice for people thinking about going to Texas State is take advantage of everything they have to offer. There's so many free activities and programs for students that can really excel your career. Also, if you're a business major, try to join the Beta Gamma Sigma group. It's an honor society that tailors to the top students in business (3.5 GPA and up) and is recognized by any employer. As for non-business majors, there are other honor societies that I'm sure are just as good. Having organizations and volunteer work on your resume looks great to any job employer so try to get involved in them. You also learn a lot. Well that's my rant lol but again, Texas State is a great university and I recommend anyone thinking about joining to do it! You will have a lot of fun, not to mention the river is a blast lol. Go Bobcats!

Matt Gilbert

University police are not properly trained, unequipped and uneducated on how to handle simple civil or criminal cases.

Holden Seider

I HATE THIS PLACE

Charles Rogers

I dropped out this place was so bad

Dale Yates

Beautiful campus, great business school.

Daniel Bubba E.

Shout out to the winey liberal who thinks that a University needs to be fat Friendly...

William Musser

The crown jewel of the Texas state university system! One of the prettiest campuses in the nation!

Max Calvert

Horrible dorms. Ants everywhere

James Starks

Great school! You just have to get use to hills, traffic, and the buses, but it's not as bad as people say it is. For what you get, 1 hour of cushion before class isn't a big deal, and if you're early you can study!

Brittany Tinney

I went to visit here and I loved it so much its a awesome college to go to

Eric Hume

Beautiful campus, friendly and helpful professors, and friendly people. Enjoying my experience at this University.

Rebecca Dutcher

loved my experience at Southwest Texas State University. I feel like it really prepared me for my teaching job here in San Antonio!

Khadeidra Richardson

I really like this school! People overall are friendly, and very helpful. I ll miss it here. And living on campus wasn't bad either I had a great dorm experience. Im graduating soon and I feel confident I will find a job through my hard work. Work very hard. Yes it's fun. But don't slip up your freshman year. Your gpa will be hard to get back up even when you make good grades. You got to make great grades. Don't party too hard. Education is something that should be taken seriously! But don't give up. One thing I would suggest is not being an undecided major. I regret that. Find something you're passionate about or something you like the most or feel is most beneficial to you and pick that as your major. I usually liked my professors and I would go here again!

Riley Smith

Here at Texas state unviersty it's really fun and cool what you do here like baseball is my game and basketball is also my game too.

Toluwani Oki

terrible... i should have accepted my admission to a better school like UTD.. they suck...

Ulises Gonzalez

This place is just something else. The education is great, the area is thriving, and student life is ideal! you couldn't ask for anything else. Love Texas State University! Eat em' up!

Erin Hinga

Eat em up! Go cats go!

Bobby Hunter

Alot of parties and not much else. No parking

Ariana Renner

The financial aid department is literally so unprofessional. They ask for documents that you have already submitted and take months to review and then ask for even more. They are inconsistent with their rules. I ask one person if I need to submit something and they say yes and then I ask someone else and they say no. I would HIGHLY recommend staying FAR AWAY from this university!!! Everything sucks from the rec center that is closed so many times when their schedule says they are open, to financial aid, to the crappy bus system!!!! Oh and on top of all of this, they love racism!! Look up what happened with the University Star Newspaper regarding racism towards white people that got published. This school is a sad excuse for a University and I will be so glad when I am graduated and will NEVER have to deal with them again!

Jesse Weaver

Love it. I enjoyed going there as an UG, and for grad school.

ES Wilson

After reading the racist editorial in TSU's paper, I can only hope the Texas state legislature cuts your funding.

David Kerr

I just graduated this past May and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best four years of my life. Stunning campus, amazing people, and a great education. I wish I could start as a freshman all over again! Thank you Texas State!

Sebastian Lopez Ramirez

Really great University!

Jason Blalock

Beautiful campus built on a hillside.

Robert Castro

Lauren Ramirez

James Payton

Its mid summer, no students here until September

Trung Nguyen

I love all, very beautiful

Alexandra C.

I took classes after having graduated from a different university years ago. The administration here - specifically, admissions and Student Business Services - is horrible to work with. Rude, don't answer their phones, poor automated phone system, basically take your money and make you live with the poor customer service they provide because once you're enrolled, you don't have a choice, right? Additionally, I took a class from the worst professor I have ever had. His name I unfortunately can't recall. He patronized students who weren't well-versed in calculus and was rude in general. His teaching method consisted entirely of projecting pages of the book on the board and copying the sample problems. I couldn't believe it. He did not answer and student questions and did not seem to care about his students or his own abilities as a professor. I actually stopped attending the course, wasting a thousand dollars, because I couldn't sit through another class. This is coming from a person who LOVES school and has been a teacher for four years.

Marisa Pickett

In summary: Overcrowded, nearly over-priced, but with under-funded departments. Not handicapped friendly or even fat person friendly (they haven't upgraded half the lecture halls so if you're not stick thin be prepared to sit uncomfortably in a tight chair surrounded by hundreds of other people). Near non-existent diversity. Do not transfer here, you will receive no assistance. If this is all you can afford and if you manage to find a place to live near enough to campus then this school is OKAY. Otherwise, I would say look elsewhere for better upgraded facilities and friendlier student population.

Katrina Goudey

Why do they keep the offices so cold?

mark norris

parking and traffic nightmare, excellent value, campus on INTERSTATE 35, very ugly and loud, san marcos had charm about 40 years ago, that's all gone

Miranda Diaz

Is so pretty it's like nature is surrounding you and the collage is great

nick villarreal

great place to get a education and smash some grade A puss.

Zee Smith

I have loved every second spent at this university, and am not wanting to graduate! I'm a little over halfway done with my major and have had amazing professors, wonderful memories, and have been involved in some amazing organizations. Eat Em Up Cats! AYAYAY!

Mark DeLano

Great looking people, school, and area. Lots of growth with new buildings mixed with older well maintained architecture as well. Great campus feel with SA and Austin not far. Impressive to see how much has changed over the past 15 years.

Ryan Kirmse

Ah, texas state. A case study for what happens when administrative bloat forces the various colleges to choose between a full staff of professors and a competent staff of professors. Trauth and that board of directors needs to be thrown out on their worthless butts, and their names dragged through the mud where it belongs. Not one of them show any care for the students beyond the cash they can deliver at the beginning of each semester. Furthermore, each time a crisis arises, they simply use the excuse to add another administrator, advisor, or contract out a third party company (please someone look into who's getting those kickbacks) which draws an undeserved price-tag and means another 6figure income for someone who will just treat the student body as bothersome children. In the words of a former drill sgt. they seem to be stuck on stupid.

Kunjamma Mathew

Great cooges.

Ashley Kovar

Love my campus

sam friedman

A great place with friendly professors, and wonderful facilities

Nathan Smith

I was here for a TOUR of the CAMPUS and it is a wonderful university. I am going there for my teaching degree and I loved it. EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!!!

Jafet Villeda Morales

Went to visit the University, looks amazing with so many nature:)

Mike W

Beautiful campus. But.......they are like the 9th most liberal college in Texas and they are proud of that. If your kid has a good head on their shoulders, hopefully this university won't brain wash them with all their political correctness BS. University liberalism is nothing to be proud of.

Ahmed Baqer

If you are coming from out of state, please don't waste your money. Go to a school like A&M instead. They say Texas is the friendliest state in the nation, but this place made me fail to see that. This school is full of people that need to get their head out of their behind. You can feel the smug in the air over here. Not to mention that it's so over-rated. Parking sucks if you're a commuter, there are more commuters than on-campus students, yet they get to have more parking spaces than commuters (just to show you that this school doesn't care about you, all they care about is how much you pay them). I've been here for one year and am glad am leaving this place behind.

Christopher Vandagriff Jr

No stars for this racist campus that published an article condemning the white race.

Caryn

I thought I would love it here but I was soo wrong. Parking is ridiculous for off campus students, it's scarce and if you don't get there at exactly 7 am then forget it. The professors vary in competence, I've had some great teachers but I've also had teachers who have absolutely no consideration for their students, sending late emails about some mistake that they made or waiting until the last minute to tell me what book I needed to buy. It's ridiculous. There's stairs everywhere, which is fine, unless you have a class that's not only across campus but up stairs as well. The library is always packed so if you need to print something you'd better hope it's not time sensitive. Overall the campus is nice but the university needs to prioritize the students.

David G

This school is high school all over again. If your 25 and over don't go here. Don't get fooled by the schools website and photos. Thinking, I never went to a University and joined a frat or whatever. IT'S ALL A BIG COVER UP TO GET YOU IN. Talk to someone who actually goes and lives there. Most people drop out or transfer within the first year.

Rosie Sosa

Texas State for life! Eat em' up

Md Toufikul Islam

Texas State University has a beautiful library and several dining halls and a river of course.

John Winn

It's a great campus and a great school. I legitimately felt like the professors and advisors wanted me to do well and graduate. They helped me. They'll help you.

Just for The

One of the best campuses ever. The professors are wonderful and they are very helpful. Everyone here is very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.

Jaime Garcia

Mariachi program is the best

Mandie Freeman

I love this school and how the river is apart of it! Great resources for help and very beautiful campus.

Rozie Benavidez

Dance competition was exciting last year, so I can't wait for dance competition this year on 11.22/15 come out to and be a spectator.

John

Only rejects who couldn't go to a better school come here.

Vanessa Calderon

mason garcia

Best experience ever. Go Bobcats!

Alexandria Diaz

I am only 14 and I all ready in love with this college I wish I cod be Don. With school so I cod go there herry up school and u are right Ricky it is a good school I love it

Nancy Vasquez

Loved my experience at Texas State. Graduated in May 2013.... I honestly can't imagine my undergrad years in any other university. Texas State is a large school with a small feel to it. You have many resources available to you and many opportunity to grow as a person and as a leader. I am a Proud Bobcat Alumni!

Joseph Meastas

I transferred here because I thought it would be a great experience for college but I was pretty wrong. Parking is the absolute worst. They will give you a parking ticket any possible moment but if you get a permit there is never parking. Teachers can vary between amazing and awful (I would say 50/50) and everything is underfunded. Jones Dining has nothing but unhealthy food and they are always running out of food. There are a lot of programs to join which is good but other than that I would look at other schools.

Hassan Barzani

Texas State University is a beautiful campus!

Mahmood Aljaroodi

Very beautiful campus!

Teri Harrison

I would like to thank a gentleman in the area of Campus Security who helped my family find our way around campus when we had so little time before sundown. His name was Mr.Ken Russell. Mr. Russell went out of his way to direct us and lead us to the buildings we needed to find. He talked with my daughter, a future student this fall, about campus security which was positive and helpful. Thank-you Mr. Russel from The Harrison Family.

Nayeli Silva

This is a beautiful campus, and is a campus that continues to grow. If you explore campus enough times, you will find some of the nicest views on campus. I've had an extremely positive experience during my time at Texas State. Both, the Family and Child Development and Education program are amazing programs to be a part of at Texas State. Teachers and staff in both departments have demonstrated passion for what they do for their students, and the passion teachers have for what they teach shows in the classroom. Experiences vary per department, but from my personal experience its truly been an amazing time at Texas State. Let me not forget to mention, the beautiful river that runs through campus! Also, yes parking can be a mess sometimes, but if you use ALL the resources Texas State offers such as the bus transportation system you should be just fine! There are options to overcome the issue of parking. I still have yet to find a university whose parking system is flawless.. with a student population of over 38,000 it shouldn't be a shocker that parking can be a little problematic at first. Get informed about the parking lots, bus routes, and you will be okay. This is coming from a daily Austin commuter...

Kirby Lesher

The university is always SWT to me

Nicole Garza

Had an incredible 4 years at this beautiful place

Raymond Beecham

Let me start by saying i love my school. I've never seen a place that took such good care of our veterans as here. UT austin was awful with that, but to elaborate we are able to meet each in the monthly luncheons we have and the school usually appoints a few people to speak. They also bring other departments there to meet with veterans. I have also been able to meet with all my professors and some are my personal friends. I am in Mccoys business school and have learned various skills from accounting to advanced excel applications, to starting my own business which is what i really am interested in doing. I love the river, love the people and love the atmosphere and resources. If people took advantage of their Microsoft office 365 resources, one drive, udrive, and alkek resources they will be able to utilize their tuition money better. Last thing, i was in an honors entrepreneurial class here with my teammates and our focus was to allow students to keep their email. However, the university allows you to already forward your bobcat mail to a personal email so now you truly do have it forever. If you would like to know more you can check out our binder at alkek. Just ask the librarian for Dr. Bells honors class binders and ours is fall 2016.

Sushil Kapadia

Professors lacks understanding of how to teach. Books utilised are not helpful.

Abdullah Haidar

5 star school. 0 stars for parking spaces and the parking services department is full of it as well. I received a ticket on a rented car once and paid the ticket right away. However, some person rented the same car lately and got a ticket and now the ticket is linked to my name is what they told me, and even though I am not the person who got the ticket, there is a hold on my account for it, which means I can't add or drop classes which I actually NEED TO before September 14th. I call the rental car company in front of the officer for evidence and the officer says that's not enough we need paperwork, and of course they close when i have spent more than 2 hours waiting for them to figure out the problem and discussing the case. Just know that if you're dealing with parking services you're gonna have to go above and beyond for problems that aren't yours to begin with.

Jenny Garcia

Declares on their website that they are voted military friendly, etc. , but they are NOT. You are treated just as any other student applying to the university and MOST, if not ALL military credits you earn while enlisted DO NOT transfer. Also, most of the CLEP credits you take will not transfer either. The Veterans Affairs Office only works with Financial Aid and your financial benefits. They will not provide any assistance with admissions.

Ben Mengden

Great place to learn in central Texas with amazing outdoors at your fingertips

Emilie Overfield

I was a transfer student and compared to my community college this school was terrible. There aren't enough advisors for the amount of students, because of this the advisors are just trying to get students in and out of their offices with very little care for the students futures. I regret ever attending this school I work way too hard and pay too much money to be treated like just another brick on the wall.

Amber

This is the best university ever feasibly possible to attend. It has a wide wicked amount of killer majors dude, and some super stellar students and staff, along with rigorous and challenging courses for every major of choice. The party scene is wicked rad, the river is amazeballs. You best come to Texas State.

PSYCHOBEVO

The Texas State University Police are the worst cops I've ever encountered in my life. They came to my dorm room and inexplicably accused me of being on drugs, with zero evidence, and made me do one of those stupid sobriety tests (probably illegally) in my own dorm room. I've never done any drugs, never even drank alcohol or smoked a cigarette ever, yet that worthless cop and his useless silent woman-partner did that to me for no reason. It was such a humiliating experience that I didn't report it happening to anyone, but now, thinking back on it years later, I should have at least attempted to get those criminal cops fired.

Ryan Walker

Just finished my first semester at Texas State as an honor student transfer from ACC. The school is beautiful and everyone I met was very friendly. As a double major in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics the coursework here is plenty challenging. My Differential Equations class certainly gave me a run for my money, but I finished it with an A :) As a student with a 3.8 GPA and over 50 credit hours I can certainly say that this school has a lot to offer if you're willing to work for it. I got accepted into the Engineering programs at Baylor and Texas A&M, but Texas State feels like home. Eat 'em up!

Fehintoluwa kolawile

The condition of the area is cool conducive.

Dana k

Go Bobcats! Great place to go party on the weekends.

Stephanie Marie

I absolutely loved my 4 years here. I learned a lot about everything and most of my professors were awesome. You always get a couple bads ones but you will get that everywhere. Plus don't worry about the freshman 15 here, you will lose weight walking up all those hills. The library is awesome and football Saturdays are a blast tailgating. You will love the river, you can float it during the day or at night. This campus is gorgeous and the people are wonderful. You will love it here.

Raven Sampson

they have everything you would want in a dream college

J.

Anyone can get in and it shows. This is definitely a party school..Yes every school has people that love to party, but partying is the number 1 priority here from Monday thru Sunday. The racism and bigotry is very much alive and well here. As far as academics go, in some classes it's pretty much a joke and way too easy. You can pay $2000 for a class and never show up except for test, and by studying vocabulary words and power points you get an easy A'..like damn, a challenge would be nice ya know

Vil Poe

Nice campus, location, food options, library, resources, etc, but the parking is awful, ESPECIALLY with the cheaper commuter pass (Expect to circle around like a vulture to snag a spot during the day) and some of the teachers are not the best. Inadequate course options in some departments for the size of the school.
