This school allows non-academic entities to broadcast bigoted and and unmerited opinions. On June 5, 2018, the president of the university is allowing a workshop titled "Can Homosexuals Change" to go forward at the student center. This workshop will feature debates on the legitimacy of LGBTQ identities and encourages "homosexuals" to "change," that is, to stop being homosexuals. I'm gay, and the legitimacy of my existence is not up for debate. This school only cares about your money. Don't give it to them.

I do not know where to begin! Traffic is horrible and there is never any parking! Every time I needed help with something, there was never anyone who could help me they just kept sending me somewhere else! The school try's to make money off of you for any little thing! More than half the professors don't speak fluent English and are hard to understand! I recommend going anywhere else!

Most of the place is not handicap friendly, that includes the parking. The ramp for the Student Success Center is extremely hard to utilize. If someone were to use the ramp with a manual wheelchair ; They would find it to be a tedious zigzag. Going down the ramp is terrible! It is steep enough to send you flying off. Some of the doors of the buildings don't even open when pushing the buttons.

The education is good, the admin side of this place sucks. I've had one technical and computer error on my balance which really screwed me. I'm on the hazelwood act and I have a balance of $1500 and I was told that this issue would be fixed, so no problem. This becomes an issue when Financial aid is allowing me to borrow 3k subsidized because my balance is $1500 for summer. I check during maymester if anything is fixed and I have a balance of $600 which should be fixed to $250 so I brush this issue off. But because of this adjustment on my account, $1500 to $600, financial aid lowered my APPROVED sub loan to 1k from 3k with no notice of any kind and the only explanation I got when I called was that the sub loan amount adjusted for my new need and this will happen every semester because of the system and the awards I got. This is BS because my awards were applied late, it's May 2017 and my Fall 2017 balance is $250. There should be at the MINIMUM, an email saying "hey we know you accepted a 3k sub loan for this semester but because your awards were applied late on our error, we're lowering your allowed sub loan to 1k." Extremely unprofessional, I was counting on that money for bills outside of school. Now I gotta pull the extra 2k outta my ass a week before refunds kick in. Thanks TAMIU

An incredible and affordable campus. They have much to offer and will work with you if you need any assistance. Parking is an issue at sometimes when you're running late. Employment has a positive attitude and the place has a comfortable ambiance.

I love TAMIU!!! It's way affordable and they present many opportunities for scholarships! I'm getting my B.S. without paying a single cent out of my pocket. The student:professor ratio is perfect. The professors are approachable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their job. The clubs & organizations are diverse. The only drawback in my experience is their lack of any CS degree! ):

Received Ma. S. there in 1995, Ph.D. out of state. Returned and taught here 7 years. Great place to teach. Good, dedicated and collegiate faculty. Good tescher-student ratio at sophomore level and above. Modern campus facilities. Helpful staff.
