Horrible parking. Allocates most of parking lots for sporting events so if you have night classes you dont get to park on campus. You have to be on campus before 8am if you want to even have a chance to find parking. I've missed a lot of classes due to the lack of parking. If you're a commuter then I'd suggest finding a different school that cares more for your needs.

School is okay. Faculty is alright as far as engineering goes. But the entire school is run like a corporate fed by democrat money pushing agendas trying to milk money out of students, yet the staff treats students not as an individual, but as a subordinate of the staff members. As a nontraditional student I was treated with more respect and care at some fast food joints than this university's offices.

Visited here with my brother in-law during a trip to Columbia, SC. Loved the nice campus & the overall atmosphere during a short drive, however, it is probably not that huge compared to lots of universities in the USA. Later we attended an award giving ceremony where my niece was also a recipient. It was decent, disciplined and well organized.

Unfriendly students and terrible atmosphere. I've attended many universities and this one is by far the worst. Workers of the financial office are rude, misunderstanding, and generally unhelpful.

I have to be completely honest here this institutions Admissions department by far has to be the WORST group collectively in the country. The amount of struggle and dedication that I've shown to attend my dream school has been utterly ignored. I have never seen such of a mass group of people who clearly do not care about the prospective students nor have any regards to upholding any consistency on communicating with you. USC will miss a lot of opportunities to gain great students due to their lack of professionalism in this department. I really want to put the names of all the people that I've encountered however, they might not have treated everyone like they did me plus that only hurts them. But despite their efforts, I will persevere and become who I was meant to be regardless of any situation. If you're reading this to determine if USC is a good choice for you, here is some advice. Find you someone who has "the juice," and get that person to work on your behalf because they do not work for the students they simply work for the check. I was told early today by an admissions rep. to explore other schools as to say you're not welcome to come here because you have less than perfect circumstances and don't know anyone. Admissions department here me loud and clear when I say Get behind thee satan.

I got my JD/MBA here. Great programs, faculty, students, and facilities. Lake Murray is close by and awesome! The Congaree river is close by and awesome! The Athletics are awesome!! Four of the best years of my life!!! GO GAMECOCKS!!!

Exceptional School that is seriously focused on its academic and athletic programs. It has a beautiful campus, and it very well may be the best in the state. It has many accommodation for students & there is constantly something to do. Now days, even during the summer since more kids are opting into staying on campus.

I never really heard of this place until we moved to the South. Then I saw a bunch of shirts with these roosters on them. Then one day I wandered down the road to Columbia just to see what the place was like. Then I found myself on this campus. It really seems like it has a party scene to it and it kind of reminds me of Arizona State University in some ways. It seems to be a fun place to go to school. The library was AMAZING! It even had an exhibit with some civil rights history items on display. I loved every bit of it. All and I think this is a great school. Nice and hilly too.

My worst decision that I had taken to attend for this university. The city has no event at all. And the transportation so bad there, However for the academic most students complain that teacher there unhelpful and not care for them. They city also very dangerous. My recommendation to any one think to attend for this place change to any other there are 50 other state.

No parking on campus. And most of the teacher do not care if 70% of the class fails or not. Always check rate my professor online before signing up for any courses. Also the campus is dangerous, don't listen to any of the pr done by the school claiming it is. I would not send my child to school here. I am a student and have one year left and once I am done I will never set foot back in Columbia unless I have to.

I am on my second year of grad school here. I love the university. Yes, parking is crap, but they haven't tried to hide that in my opinion. It's in the middle of the city and to be expected. I find it appalling that so many say professors don't care. I've had nothing but attentive and caring professors who've incorporated a ton of different learning methods and have been available by cell phone email and office hours. I've gained a great education thus far and recommend this school.

If you are a non traditional disabled veteran, this school does not want you. I have never been made to feel less welcome or more disposable than I have in my attempts to get enrolled. Only bother applying if you are right out of high school and enjoy faceless bureaucracy. Donald Washington in admissions has to be the least interested person I have ever encountered, concerning my becoming successfully enrolled. I would never wish my experience on anyone. This is my 1st semester at this university and is falling short of my expectations in every possible way. I am a straight A student, at least I was until I encountered your math department that hires unqualified graduate students, that can barely speak English to NOT teach math, ignore their emails and blow off their office hours and I'm probably going to fail out. If I had to teach myself math, that should have been mentioned before I paid for a class claiming to teach it. This University is filled with waste, and bloated with sponges soaking up paychecks. Somehow they can justify charging $400 a semester per person to park in a garage and the stairs are crumbling with rust, to the point that the steel and concrete are being propped up with wooden boards screwed into the concrete, to keep them from collapsing. It would interesting to know who's pocket all that money is going into. They charged me $109 for an MMR shot that I didn't need. The English department has to reprint their textbooks every semester to support themselves off of bookstore sales. Something is rotten here and it stinks. Coming here was a huge mistake and I'm ashamed to have wasted my time and money here. The core values should be corruption, waste and indifference. They embody then perfectly and I haven't met a person yet that gives a damn.

Inadequate parking that you have to pay for. Courses with large classes have material online that costs $60 to access. Incoming freshmen have more priority when choosing classes than veterans. Most classes taught by teacher's assistants with heavy accents.

Terrible instructors, This zip has between 11 to 22 registered sex offenders, poor transport and no fresh food is available if you want to go beyond the exorbitant meal plan. The campus is a food desert. Food desert+poor transit+dangerous criminals = Safe students? Warmer months mean Carolina Alerts regarding assaults on students, mostly female. A girl was almost kidnapped by a cabdriver. The TAs and instructors will not report cheaters so EVEN if YOU are diligent, and play by the rules, the slackers will get the same grade as you.Whats the point of a curve?

I got my Bachelor's in Journalism in 2009 from the University of South Carolina. My experience at USC was absolutely amazing. All of my professors were exceptional and great mentors. The Journalism program exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have imagined going to any other school. The programs available to you, the different things you can do right on campus, the athletics... I loved everything about my experience. Hopefully I'll be going back soon for my Master's! Forever to thee!
