I went here from 2008-2011 and obtained my degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Health. The program was wonderful and nationally recognized. My internship was with a great company (paid and per diem), and now hold a wonderful position. I made many life long friends and still keep in contact with old professors. One of the best decisions I ever made.

Beautiful campus. Great education. A local college with a truely hometown feel. The streets and grounds around campus give it more of a park feel than a college campus. The swans and the pond make for a great walking destination on a nice day. All the sports fields are in pristine condition. Flower beds and trees always beautiful. The buildings range from some of the oldest in the county to very modern. The new dorms and library are state of the art. The school really strives to make sure students are safe and happy.

great school if your a white american if your looking for a diverse school this not the place for you, the campus is nice and i would feel a lot more comfortable if this school represented the world we live in which is DIVERSE. I am currently attending it as a African American transfer.

Millersville is a solid value. In state tuition and fees are very reasonable. The University provides a decent education for a reasonable price. This was one of my backup schools for undergrad but my first choice as a grad student. I liked …

I am going into my senior year at Millersville University and its been a great three years. I came into millersville undecided and through taking the general education courses I've discovered what I have a passion for. I had great advisors who helped me plan my classes in a way that I could knock out all of my requirements and still have the option to take electives that interest me and will help me with my future. The staff at Millersville is not only helpful, but have extensive knowledge in the fields that they teach. Not only is this helpful for students to see what the real world is like outside of school, but it can help determine if they are on the right path or should venture into another field of study. The only thing I had a problem with was when I lived in the South Suites there was always problems with the fire alarms being set off all the time. by the time the year was over my roommates and I had anxiety every time we heard a fire alarm. Im not sure how it is to live there now because I have since moved into an apartment. but overall I think Millersville provides a great education for the price.

Professors and staff have typical academia attitude. Everyone here thinks they are attending and teaching at Harvard. Or a D 1 school kids are egotistical It's a state school people! Professors are lazy, too comfortable don't want to help you or cultivate just want to flex there PHDs and flaunt them. Professors have control and ego issues Campus is nice and quite. Nice landscaping and it's clean with nice views.Fairly liberal compared to the rest of Lancaster county. Tuition was just raised and the teachers union protested and got a raise.Figure it out.

Getting a degree at Millersville comes with a cheap price tag, that combined with the fact they had a solid program for my major is what attracted me to this place. However, in my year and a half experience here so far, I honestly can't wait to graduate and be rid of this place. I'd transfer out if I could but I'm too close to graduating. Class sizes are decent, if you're in a gen ed class you'll be in a lecture hall with 80+ kids but that's pretty much just how it goes. Most of my professors have been great, willing to help, and extremely knowledgeable, but I've had one too many who just read off of powerpoints, post said powerpoints online, yet will dock you points if you don't come to class. There's also a lack of mid- and upper-level classes offered by most professors, which makes it next to impossible to get registered into them and therefore, graduate in a decent amount of time. The campus layout is a disaster and is confusing, along with the parking situation. They keep citing that the parking garage is being underused, but that's because it's isolated from the rest of the campus by being near the athletic field and no one wants to walk that far, especially when it's cold. Even the building layouts are kind of odd, especially the library's. They implemented "quiet floors" there last semester but it's not really enforced and kids still come there to socialize, which is weird because they could just go across to the street and do that in the SMC building without disrupting anyone. Elevators are constantly out of service there and they'll only put signs saying so on the ground floor elevators, which seems like a safety risk. I've never been in the dorms but there's always some kind of problem with the fire alarms going off. Caf food isn't bad but there isn't much selection. The gym isn't bad either but it's mostly treadmills. The student body isn't exactly ideal, there's way too many confederate-flag-waving hicks and they're all racist as hell. The university also allowed this weird cult-like religious extremist group called the TFP to come out for a day and stand on the busiest corners on campus holding homophobic banners and handing out pamphlets that are incredibly degrading to the LGBT community. A lot of the students expressed dislike about it but I'm sure the group will be back. This is just what came to mind, there's more good and bad but the overall picture is you'll get a decently valued education at the cost of a good college experience.

Transferred there in early 70's....One of greatest times of my life. Graduated in 1973, it broke my heart leaving that little town and school. We had a riot there. TG

I was hoping that I would have the same success as my sister had at Millersville, but my past three and a half years has taught me that it is just not meant to be. I say this because of the constant unscheduled evacuations that happened at South Village Suites, the school work that I have to work on with a short period of time to complete, and the exams that are scheduled where I have a little less time to study. I hope that the education that Millersville University provided will benefit me in the long run and I can obtain a good job out of this along with my drafting skills.

Don’t recommend living at the university but I believe it’s a great value for commuters.

I am in my fourth year at the University and I can say I have no complaints what so ever. Every faculty member I have had class with have been nothing but great and my department has some of the best people around. It is nice to have faculty know you by name rather than just as another student, which is why I chose this school over the larger ones for my field. Everyone on campus is a friendly face and they make you feel nothing but welcomed. There has been a ton of construction while I have been here, however, this school is improving and has such big plans for the next couple of years to really put themselves on the map. Give it another year or two and Millersville will be improved and even better than the four years I was here.

There are plenty of positive things about this establishment, but sadly, they just don’t outweigh the negatives. I really sympathize with the students who felt belittled by professors or unassisted by them because they just like to wave their PhD around and say “read the syllabus”. My advisor was one of those people, unfortunately, and it ultimately made me change my major. That’s my biggest issue with the professors. Furthermore, the police department is just a joke. I contacted them twice, once for a stolen purse and once for a parking permit. And they belittled me, berated me, and spoke down to me as if I were the biggest inconvenience in the room. I will not be going to them anymore. Lastly, when the white supremacy group came to MU and hung posters about their campaign, the school told everyone the pictures of the posters were photoshopped and that we are just this pristine, diverse school that couldn’t possibly have any of that— do NOT come here if you’re looking for diversity. As a generally liberal school, we are pretty closed minded sometimes. Ridiculous. I’m only in my second semester, and I’m hoping it gets better.

I had a good experience. The food wasn't bad, there are lots of jobs available for students - particularly in dining. My business professors, and some other departmental professors, are awesome, and I still keep in contact with many of them and seek their counsel. I feel I got a good education for a more fair price than other schools. However, I don't think it was necessary to replace all the old dorms. In fact, the process ruined many's experience during the years of construction, as fences and what looked like war-zones replaced the quad. And, I hear prices are only going up and attendance is not keeping up. Great school, but I think reforms need to be made and it would be wise for the administration to seek the counsel of the business department, which has years of experience and wisdom.

Millersville University is an amazing student focused school where the staff truly do care about their students. As a transfer student, I was a little worried about how smooth my transition to Millersville would be but my worries were soon put to rest. Within two weeks of committing to Millersville, I received an email from an advisor assigned to help prepare for the coming semester. She was nothing but extremely helpful. The students are overall extremely friendly, the campus is extremely safe and beautiful. Coming to Millersville was one of the best decisions of my life.

IF YOU ATTEND THIS SCHOOL, YOUR LIFE WILL BE RUINED! This is not a joke: I have gone to the local district justice's office on numerous occasions to plead to a traffic ticket and every single time, I see young college students being advised by Millersville Boro Police of their "legal rights" and being told by the cop that they will drop this and that charge if the kid just "pleads guilty" to one or two others. They purposely overcharge students who were just having a good time, possibly drinking too much beer or making too much noise; the students can't afford an attorney, they are just happy to see the more serious charges go away; the judge is an ex-Millersville cop, so they don't have a chance in front of him, and POOF - their lives are ruined. They have a criminal record for the rest of their lives, some are kicked out of school for the charges, and it is just not worth it. There are plenty of other colleges in PA and other states where you can get a good education and not be branded a criminal and have no future, no matter how well you perform academically. I wanted to cry for some of these students the last time I went to this court. I heard one cop saying "just do this, just do this", and I wanted to grab the kid and tell him I would pay for a lawyer, myself, for him. What the police and local court do to these kids is criminal - not the kids.

Went to school here for undergraduate back in 2007. Transferred after a year. It's pretty much your standard small university. Not very diverse. Some classes are pretty huge some are small and more personal. All in all a very vanilla school. Perfect for your average sheltered white boy or girl from the suburbs. If you're a minority, don't expect to be represented much. The demographics are pretty homogeneous here. Not much has changed.

Millersville was the best decision I have ever made. I'm so thankful for the value and the degrees I was able to obtain. It's one of the nicest places I've ever been to. The professors are incredibly dedicated to the students. You make tons and tons of friends. There also is just so much to do around Millersville; any place you want to go, it's probably within 10-15 minutes.

My daughter is a STUDENT there. An OUTSTANDING university.

For roughly $9,000 a year, Millersville is a solid university. Among it's sister schools in the Pennsylvania System of Higher Education, it excels in meteorology, education at all levels, communication, its theater, and many of its science and computer degrees. But, in other degrees, such as business, economics, so forth, the quality may vary. It's campus is always packed with cars, and for those that live out of state, the cost may not reflect the quality. Pros: Good value, good location, great internships available, some very good departments, quality food, and a revitalizing campus. Cons: Some very poor departments, aging buildings, even older dormitories, food is hit-or-miss, long distance from any shopping/entertainment. End grade: I'll give it a 7/10. While I cannot say this college is a great one, for what you pay, it's worth every penny.

Justin

Millersville is a very good value and the education is just as good as any large school. Check MU out!

Beautiful campus, and right around the perfect size for most students! The pond was my favorite part with the wildlife, but the dorms (even freshman) are very new & nice! Loved it.

Two months ago I was a victim of assault and battery at this university at an off campus house upon visiting a "friend." I'm not able to identify who did it exactly because I was blindsided. I have no idea why I was attacked. After the initial attack, I was harrassed and held at the house against my will for a couple of hours by another man that I would be able to identify if given the opportunity. Luckily I didn't have a concussion but I have multiple scars on my arms. It's a shame that none of the other students in attendance called the police or even bothered to stop the situation. the experience was traumatic. I was later told it was executed by a black male who did not attend the university. If I find more information I will be pressing charges. I'm writing this post to inform everyone that the community outside of the student body is apparently extremely unwelcoming to guests and will take advantage or anyone they don't recognize. the feeling of the community is eerie and very depressing. I still am not over what I've experienced that night. Also, based on past criminal events at the university, the students don't seem too well mannered or even in their right mind. Simply google millersville crimes/murders. Invest in a better education and location. Do not go here. you won't feel welcome.

I am going into my junior year at Millersville and love it. I was very close minded about the school at first, considering it wasn't my first choice. The faculty is great, always willing to help their students. classrooms are generally between 30-50 kids, unless you have a lecture class. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Lancaster, which has a lot to offer. Park city mall is a 10 minute drive as well, and a movie theater is only 5 minutes away. Known as one of the "best bang for your buck" schools, it is worth every penny I have spent their. Beautiful campus, very welcoming atmosphere, and genuine people. 10/10!

Went here for 2 years and transfered to Temple University. Not exactly minority-friendly at times and I unfortunately left due to a professor. I came to a psychology professor for help in trying to declare a double major in psychology and criminal justice. I was told I can't do it because my mother can't afford to pay for it when it fact BOTH of my MARRIED parents were paying for the majority of my education with THEIR MONEY. i never felt so angry in my life. I should have reported this professor but I left. Not worth it, but I don't regret the people I've met along the way. Shout out to Joe !!

Andrea Cooper

I had some great professors however when I was raped by a football player on campus they told me to be quite about it, misused info, made me feel I was in the wrong, and let the player go without the slightest punishment and he will continue to represent the university on the football field
