My experience, education and treatment at Cheyney University can be matched regarding faculty's teaching, support and compassion to only one of five universities I attended and it is the one where I received my Doctorate in Psychology, and my studies at Princeton University. The professors at Cheyney were supportive and they encouraged my professional development. My strengths were recognized because I studied and put the work in that was required. I was referred to attend Princeton University, APA conferences and the professors assisted two Psychology majors with the cost; appointed to the National Honor's Association In Psychology by a Cheyney faculty member. Encouraged to mobilize by another professor, "Keep going" he said, and I did continue my education, in Virginia, at Irvine California, and Camden NJ.
Cheyney Professors Care about Student's Success
The education at Cheyney was and is supportive and the faculty strives to help you to succeed. Your success depends on your own determination and consistency. I encourage anyone to study at Cheyney. I have several good friends who are graduates. One is a teacher. He credits a Cheyney professor for his success as a Certified Teacher. He said it got tuff for him and the professor recognized his passion and academic problems which were unrelated to his intellectual ability. It was associated with some other struggle that our young African American males may encounter in life. The professor believed in him and helped him to believe in himself. He completed an assignment in which he is proud of today. He is now a compassionate teacher and musician. Next, another male after graduating managed a program of over 90 mentally ill clients and his team. We identify as being a part of the Cheyney family and are proud graduates.
I encourage anyone who is reading this commentary to judge Cheyney from your own experience or perspective, because it is the one that will make the difference in most aspects of your life.
