The heads of the university openly support bigotry, discrimination, & hate speech. They don't even try to hide it.

Being an international student, i found CSU more as my second home. I cherished many great memories in my 2 years stay at CSU. Thanks to all my professors and my team at Conference Services at Student Center and Recreational Center team for believing me and supporting me. I am proud CSU student.

CSU from Chester Avenue. Clean. Busy. Watch out for careless speeding drivers. They definitely aren't looking out for those hoofing it.

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.

I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 - 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.

For a president of a major education institution to condone hate speech. To condone someone telling others to commit suicide because it's "freedom of speech," for no actions to be taken against his person? This is wrong and you have made your LGBTQ+ students disgusted, horrified and completely unsafe. You represent this school and these students and you did the worst thing possible. I hope for the sake of your school, the LGBTQ+ community, and their allies that you apologize and resign. I would never in a million years recommend anyone go to this school after this.

If I could rate this sad excuse for a university any lower, I would. I honestly feel that I received twice the education for half the amount of money at Tri-C. The lab fees, online learning fees, and recreation fees are a complete scam. The lab materials I've had the "honor" of using were broken, outdated, and useless. There was not a single thing that the lab offered me that I couldn't have gotten out of a text book. I genuinely don't understand how they justify the online learning fees. By offering the class online, you do not have to secure a room for the course, or provide technology/materials of any sort. What the hell am I paying for in these fees? Lastly, I don't care about your recreation center or the RTA pass. I don't use them. Don't make me pay for them. This place is a joke. The professors are ambivalent and oftentimes completely uninformed. I have had professors quit (literally hand the class to another professor) half way through the semester. Even the replacement professor was a mess. Suffice it to say I have learned absolutely nothing in that course. I paid a nice chunk of change to sit in a room and have my time wasted while everyone tried to figure out how to redeem the class. Redemption hasn't happened, and our final exam is tonight. I'm sure CSU will not do anything to make this right. I have hated this place since the day I walked in, and the day I walk out will be the happiest of my life. *Side Note* If you haven't actually attended this school, don't leave ratings. The two hour tour you attended alongside your 17 year old child doesn't exactly count for anything in terms of what the students will actually endure in this cesspool.

This is the college I will be going to for college. They have a great nursing and engineering programs.

Majority of school is for Trump/ Racist . Many assults, racist slurs even in dorms and classrooms, horrible place to be if you want diversity. They only care about money not the student.

I am a senior in the Social Work program. CSU has gone out of its way to make my time here amazing. The student life is amazing and the academics are top notch. It is a growing university. CSU has partnered with both Playhouse Square (the number 2 theater district in the country) and NeoMed the best medical school in the north east and they just keep growing partnering with some of the best the state of Ohio has to offer. Great school.

Evan Peterson

Overall, I thought this college was great. Free breakfast, friendly students and the teachers don't give homework. It smells really good in the dorms as well.

Brady Quinn

This is college is more like a glorified high school. The professors are sub-par and they do nothing more than read PowerPoint slides everyday. You will not learn anything from these people. The students are mean and not very bright. There is nothing in the way of career services, so you'll have a LOT of trouble finding a good job when you graduate. Recruiters from major companies don't even bother to talk to students from this school. Check CSU's graduation rate to see for yourself. It is only 33%. This place is a waste of time and money.

Jae Trifonov

This school offers a "safe space" for students too "traumatized" by the presence of police. My girls will NEVER be allowed to apply to this school. Just one more disgraced learning facility across America that needs to be stripped of it's title of a college.

LaQuita Mack

Csu is great besides the terrible parking. If you drive your better off not using the public meters and just pay the school, they give tickets heavily near the campus daily l. I am lucky because I live close so I stop driving and just walk I saved alot of money.

My school. Loving it

Patrick Zbašnik

I graduated in 2007 with two degrees from Cleveland State University. I had no significant concerns/complaints with my education and would certainly recommend others to attend who are interested in the school! Additionally, since I've graduated they have placed a significant amount of money in adding to the campus and revitalizing what was already there!

I love Cleveland State University. Cleveland State University provides me so many great opportunities and support along the time I have been in the program. I have learned from many great professors who are very knowledgeable, supportive, and helpful. In addition, all staffs at CSU who I worked with or who I asked for help are very friendly, polite, and very helpful. I have never been regretted to be part of this school.

Horrible nightmare vicking card service the lady name patricia hupcey she is a manager with horrible attitude she accused me for my old id just because I said I want My old id back because it is my so she cut my old id right under my picture and gave it to me without letting me know that she cut my card in her office while I was waiting outside. Worse experience ever. She damaged my id with her negative small minded thoughts in her mind. God please save us students from this ignorant people form making student’s life worse.

Good university that friends and family have gone to. Great environment for studying and fun

I am in the partnership but even though I'm not on the actual campus I still have to deal with their rude customer service. Graduation 2015 needs to be here like now! Every time I call financial aide I get someone with an attitude. This whole Cleveland State experience has been a big mess

Thanks to the CSU. I love you Cleveland

Caleb Vandezande

Great area to just walk around and enjoy the art and city.

Madison Chapanar

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.

Would never attend this university that protects hate speech with the first amendment. If a school does not know the difference then they are not worth getting my money.

Have been to CSU for my master’s degree in Education back in 2014. The college is overall very good and is getting better since then. The staff are courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend attending this college for graduate studies.

I love the school so much because of the environment and the opportunity you get in the city! The school and learning environment is a 4/5 stars--But the school call operators in financial aid, scholarships, or in all departments are so unprofessional. I would be hesitant to call them because every call operator makes my blood boil EVERY time I call! I live 30-45 min away from the school... I'm not going to drive up there to get the exact answers I need. I know that some may be student workers, but CSU need to train them better. Every question would end with "I don't know" "i'm not sure" ARE YOU SERIOUS. Every operator I've spoke to just don't care at all, and don't want to help me find the answers to my questions. It's so sad that a school like CSU would have these type of people represent the school like this. do. better. sis.

Hmmm I guess it's better than most state colleges. The campus police are seriously good for nothing. But the professors are very wise and knowledgeable, the students are chill, the university really seems like they want you to graduate. So I guess it's good.

The Parking is terrible and they over charge you for your spot that isn't even promised. Then they have pathetic students walk around and try to give you tickets for no real reasons. Then they demand you pay them. Money Hungry 100% and very unfair after paying almost 300 dollars EVERY semester to park a car with no enclosed roof or safety for your car or yourself of any kind in east Cleveland.
