I was really happy that I have been attending this school but when my girlfriend attempted to apply for the school the admissions staff was really horrible. First she signed up for the University tour when we got there to the school there was no tour he just wanted the applicant to decide yes or no if they were going to attend the school. Then when my girlfriend told them I wanted to change my major they said yes it's okay will do it right now then when her transcripts was turned in they told her they were okay and they will contact her in 2 weeks to evaluate how many credits were getting transfer. A month-and-a-half later she received a phone call saying that she needs to get new transcripts that the transcipts she turned in weren't good or acceptable and when she decided not to continue with the application to attend the school the gentleman from the Department that she actually wanted to major in responded to her email saying that she didn't want continue what the process no more he said in his response that he never knew that she wanted to study in that field if he would have known it would have been much better process. I'm very disappointed in NJCU, definitely changes my thoughts about the school overall.

Friendly environment, beautiful outdoors, students and faculty are down to earth. Diversity is a strenght. I see it as my second home -Ernesto :)

Overall great University. If you are pursuing a Chemistry degree, this is the best school. You will learn so much and develop analytical skills that will set you apart from your peers in other schools.

Good little college. Teachers get to know you (i guess since its not one of those huge colleges). The quality of the education is a little lacking though.

Njcu is great but what is not great is the services, advising and some others offices...i spend one hour calling and they didn't pick up the phone. Then, I when in person, I just walk in and guess what they were there but they didn't want to pick the phone...they just want easy job..i hope the administration take this comment in concern.

New Jersey City University's ranking in the 2018 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities . It is a fully recognized and accredited university

This school was one of my top choices when I was in high school. And 2017, two other school representatives are counselors came to my school to have interviews with the students. And one of the counselors looked at my paper my transcripts, She told me that I qualified for $10,000 scholarship. And then she looked on my transcript and said “ oh no never mind “ My heart was broken when she said those words it was unprofessional and wasn’t ethical at all. Livid as I was I kept it professional and didn’t say anything but you can see from my facial expression how angry and disappointed I was . This was my dream school to go to and all that was taken away from me because of someone’s mistake. As soon as I walked out the interview that the woman had the nerve to ask me why I was so upset . Even though they said I got into the school didn’t make up for the fact that I wasn’t receiving the $10,000 scholarship she told me at qualified for . I worked really hard during my high school years I was in top of my classes and have nothing to show for it . And as of right now I will never come to the school it is horrible nobody should ever do that to somebody ever !!!!!!!!!

I definitely like it better than Kean University. The financial aid dept is also simpler and has no lines and people actually answer the phones in the financial aid dept unlike at Kean. I have spoken to alot of staff there that actually try to help you. It is a small campus but as long as your there to do what you gotta do, learn and put in the effort in your classes its a fine experience. You can also find good professors here. I like it !

This school called NJCU is petty do not attend here they want money and they are poor I would suggest going to other schools in nj like Rutgers New Brunswick, Montclair state university and felician University.

I am going to be a freshmen at NJCU, yet I feel like I already know everyone! For a great in-state tuition and a great academic staff, no wonder is called Harvard on the boulevard.

Guy Zandler

So far I am pleased with the school. Dr. Joyce Wright has been very helpful. She also was kind enough to extend the RN-BSN program to students who passed the 120 semester. This is a fantastic idea which I hope many students take advantage of.

First semester attending here was a huge difference from the school I came from the Professors are nice and give great advice to improve your grade. But have no information regrading jobs or internship opportunities.

So happy that I graduated from here. Loved the experience. The administration and office staff are always quick to respond to emails, and always answer the phone.

Giving this a 3/5 (and being nice with it) because the bursar's office workers are rude as heck. I called around 2:15 PM on July 23rd, 2018 and inquired about a situation regarding my account balance and that there was an error. The lady who answered didn't know what she was doing and eventually hung up (had the end call tone on my end, so I know SHE did it.) When calling back a few times and finally getting an answer she made it seem like my phone got disconnected as an excuse while having to attend my situation still. They better get these workers in line. I care about getting my degree and will be a pain when needed, or I can go elsewhere for it. These people are paid what we give them in order to have their jobs while we obtain the degrees. If they read this, shame on you.

They treat you like a person. Like an adult. Not some snot nose kid who is going to college because mommy told them to. Fairly mature student body and everybody is there for the same reason- get your degree and get out. Would recommend.

I'm a 2007 graduate, my experience at NJCU was great. However, I hated paying for parking.

I am an international student pursuing an MBA in Finance at New Jersey City University, School of Business. I am happy I chose to study at NJCU School of Business for several reasons: • Small classroom settings facilitate interaction between students and faculty and it allows students to have the professors' undivided attention. • School of Business’ professors are very qualified and experienced professionals with good reputations. They are committed to the students’ education, keeping them updated on the current market trends. In addition, they focus on preparing the students to be successful in the job market. • The staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. • NJCU’s School of Business is built with a stylish architecture and is located at Harborside Financial Center, Jersey City, which offers opportunity to build networks with professionals around the area. • After researching several public universities in the area, I found that NJCU offers a variety of accredited programs and is less expensive compared to the other Universities. Furthermore, the financial aid and the graduate assistantship programs offered by the University, make studying here even more affordable. The degrees offered at NJCU satisfy the requirements of the job market and they are well worth the price. • NJCU offers individuals a high quality education with the newest technology and well-equipped computer labs to fit the needs of the students. • Lastly, NJCU gives high importance on student diversity and offers a welcoming and supportive environment for multicultural students. I strongly recommend New Jersey City University as your first step to a successful career path!

This school is awful. They give scholarships to EVERYONE, so they can get people to attend. It has a lower graduation rate than community colleges (7%). It's not much cheaper than Montclair, go there instead!

david boles

Staff are horrible and they always tell you to go see someone else

I graduated in 2000 with my BA. It was an awesome school then. Forward to Spring 2017 the Counseling Department has no clue. There's no counselor on advisors. The 1 who was there left or was terminated in May and she had no clue. I met with her several times to finish a class that I didnt need with an A. The chair is very condescending and she has absolutely no accountability. If you re pursuing a career in counseling....go somewhere else. I have already registered at Kean University to complete my coursework. Consider yourself warned.
