During my time here at Rutgers, I have: -done cancer research under two esteemed oncologists -been to loads of football and basketball games (the atmosphere is awesome and the tickets are FREE) -taken part in the underground music/poetry scene in New Brunswick -witnessed our campus evolve as new buildings open literally every year I've had more good teachers than bad ones, and I've met more easy-going people than easily offended people. If someone is hating on Rutgers, it's probably because they haven't experienced everything the school has to offer.

Edward Z. Rosenthal

I attended my freshman year in New Brunswick, and for the 1st semester it was a bit of a challenge to navigate the system--getting the right classes, dealing with the administration, and finding the best way to get around the huge campus--but by 2nd semester I had figured out all of the tricks. If you're a self motivated and relatively focused individual the size and complexity of the University as well as the larger class sizes will not pose a problem. The campus life is fantastic with a vast array of academic, extracurricular and social clubs and groups to suit absolutely any and all interests. Accessibility to NYC, Philly, and the Jersey shore make it an ideal location for both cultural pursuits and also the variety of entertainment. I transferred to the Camden campus sophomore year for financial reasons and was very surprised at the quality of most of my instructors and professors. Smaller class sizes and a tiny campus--especially compared to NB--has its advantages, and for certain majors such as mine Camden is just as good, if not better than NB. RU Camden is predominantly a commuter campus in a much poorer city so the campus life is much less vibrant and eclectic as NB, but Philly is just a quick Speedline ride across the Delaware River where cultural attractions, great dining and nightlife are all excellent. Getting around on a bicycle is easy, including riding across the Ben Franklin Bridge into and around Philly, and the biking and hiking trails behind the Art Museum and in Fairmount Park along the Wissahickon are fantastic. Rutgers is a reasonably competitive university where certain areas of study--particularly applied research, business & marketing, and fine arts related studies--are top rated and comparable to other top rated research and liberal arts schools. The Camden campus thrives in the shadow of such prestigious and respected institutions as The University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University, and many others, and so the standards for excellence are keenly felt. Unless you're a top 1% level student, or a premium brandname obsessed consumer, Rutgers University is a superb and worthwhile choice for higher education, including the Camden campus. And above all else, the cheesesteaks & hoagies are the best in the world!

I'm a 1989 MCRP graduate. This university and its Urban Planing & Public Policy program is renowned throughout the planning world with the university itself respected internationally. Rutgers University is even more impressive now then when I attended & graduated (1987-89). I am deeply satisfied with my choice of grad school.

FACT: Rutgers University is mentioned in a Human Sexuality Documentary for having their own strand of Herpes on their main campus in New Brunswick, NJ. Their football stadium is pretty decent to watch an occasional MSU game with my dad and the grease trucks are actually worldwide trend setters.

Outstanding . An incredible experience. Some of the best professors at the college of engineering. Very passionate math department. Coming from boarding school, and transitioning to a major university environment; I was quite happy with my decision to attend. If you look at college with respect to ROI; it's an incredible investment. It's sad that some reviews are just general complaints. I guess it is easier to find fault in the institution, rather than one's self.

Transfer Advisors suck. They do not even know how to help, they are rude, unknowledgeable and just tell you to go to NJTransfer which does not clarify everything. They will just tell you how your credit transfer after you are registered ! What a catch !

People can say and/or think that the reasons that I declined my acceptance to the Ed.M.- Adult and Continuing Education program at Rutgers University New Brunswick were because I quit, and was afraid that I could not tackle it. They can also attack me with weak innuendos directly or indirectly. I am here to set the record straight by first saying that the aforementioned are outright lies. In Spring 2016, I was accepted to a graduate program offered by Rutgers GSE. According to the graduate admissions application, I was supposed to be assigned an office of disability services coordinator a few weeks after application submission. But I was never assigned one. When I contacted the Office of Disability Services, I found out that I was not eligible for disability services. I was only made aware of this once I contacted them. They claimed that I was not disability services eligible, because past and current documentation was deemed invalid, insufficient, and did not exactly adhere to all of the general and documentation guidelines for a learning disability that are stated on their website. Also, I was never assigned nor contacted by an office of disability services coordinator a few weeks after graduate admissions application submission. In addition, they wanted me to prove again that I am disabled by going through the freshman process for disability services registration. This did not make any sense because a lot of documentation was given to them while I was a student, including a recent government document that was definitive proof of my disability. Further, in an e-mail that I received from Mrs. Lori Megaro, a Masters in Social Work candidate working for the Office of Disability Services, it said that I was required to fill out a registration form. However, the Office of Disability Services’ website states that the registration form “is for students who have not previously been registered with the Office of Disability Services.” I was already registered with the Office of Disability Services. In fact, I registered with them in my first semester at Rutgers, which was in Fall 2008. Instead of trying to gather new documentation in such a short period of time, which would have included at least 12 diagnostic test scores, I was forced to decline my admissions acceptance into the graduate program, and give up my spot to an undeserving rejected applicant who graduated with MY degree in May 2018. I will not back down from anyone who spreads conjectures in order to tarnish me. Things that I stated about what the Office of Disability Services did to me are true. The truth hurt, because they cannot be disputed. As a matter of fact, I still continue to spread the word on this injustice. On April 6, 2017 (exactly 1 year from when I received my graduate school acceptance letter), I found out that Rutgers ODS (Carlie Andrews and Bill Welsh), GSE (Alisa Belzer), and Robert Barchi reported me to Julianne Apostolopoulos, 1 of their several lawyers for Rutgers University New Brunswick, who then made defamatory and derogatory statements, and threatened to pursue legal action against me. The DOJ and US Dept of Ed: OCR turned a blind eye to all of the things that I mentioned, and labeled me as the perpetrator. They cleared Rutgers of any wrongdoing, despite violating the ADA law, and infringing upon my 1st Amendment rights. To all prospective disabled applicants: DO NOT APPLY FOR ADMISSIONS TO RUTGERS UNIVERSITY NEW BRUNSWICK. The university president Robert Barchi, Carlie Andrews and Bill Welsh of ODS, Julianne Apostolopoulos, and Alisa Belzer of Rutgers GSE are mean, cruel, and do not care that they will ruin your future. Their ombudsperson, Sybil James, threatened me with blackmail. Filing a complaint through the US Dept of Ed: OCR is pointless, because lawyers Sandeep Randhawa (a lawyer who has a strong bias for Rutgers), Felice Bowen, and Jane Momo will be assigned to your case, and they will automatically side with Rutgers University, despite the strong evidence that you present to them.

Rutgers squeezes every dime they can from you. All the places that are newly renovated and built are beautiful. All the other old places are acutally disgusting. The buses are terrible and not at all efficient. most of the time the professors are just grad students. unless you're an in-state kid and rutgers is the cheapest option, find a better school. Otherwise RU SCREW.

Mike Oxmall

Decent education, not the best but not the worst either. Can find the same education anywhere but it’s more of an experience. Great party school, wide variety of girls to choose from and good beer.

Anthony Caponigro

Very nicely kept campus with some spectacular old buildings

G.G Ramirez

Great school. Its a little decentralized but if you can surpass that you will find great teachers and great environment.

Nicole Stanio

Rutgers administrators and staff have the worst attitude problems. They won't let you finish your questions before they interrupt you and give you an answer you weren't looking for. They are not helpful at all and could care less whether or not they do their jobs so long as they get paid. The teachers are lazy and regurgitate from the teachers manual. Even their powerpoints are directly from the teachers manual. I'm very disappointed in this school. I wouldn't recommend the school to anyone who wants an atmosphere conducive to learning. The only reason why I'm here is because my school merged with them and I only have a year left. Please don't waste your time and money here.

My time at Rutgers University changed my life. Rutgers is a massive research university that offers so many opportunities in academics. student life, athletics, and more. The student body is incredibly diverse and you will meet incredible people from all walks of life. Because it is a large, public university- nothing is spoon fed to you. Students develop real life experience by navigating the world of Rutgers. That being said, it is a welcoming, fun, and nurturing environment to grow into the person imagine. GO RU!

Racist professors in the masters in communication department. They need to start investigation on this so called experts. This school will slowly rot with their racist professors teaching in the university.

I did not adhere to the warning of being "RuScrewed" and was willing to tackle the $40, 000 out-of-state-tuition just to continue an animal science career. During my experience with the New Brunswick Financial Aid office, it is clear they place a greater emphasis on making money and not the welfare of prospective students. There was a pause on my financial aid award and I resolved the issue two months ago, yet I still haven't received my award! I am in no way rich and cannot afford 160k for a 4-year degree, so the amount of help granted is a major factor affecting my college decision. I still believe that Rutgers is a great college FOR IN STATE STUDENTS. I opted to attend a CUNY instead, to save money and not have to deal with being RuScrewed twice over. I decided to decline my admission offer after paying the $150 non- refundable deposit, thanks Rutgers! :)

In my experience for Rutgers, New Brunswick is being together as friends because it's true if it's important to one of us could make new friends if they don't know us, if they don't: they are welcome being friends my last experience is distractions because if you are in class or elective when your listening to the teacher that teacher gives you lot if when your writing something about gems that's distracting you during class,

Campuses are nice, classrooms, and food are great. The only thing that sucks is RUscrewd'. Basically you can't pick what classes you want and sometimes your faced to take a really bad professor or class. If your major is biology then your screwd you won't get the classes you want (they're always full!!!!) and same applies to other popular major. Most of the people i know at rutgers have screwd up schedules just like me, unless your a senior.

If you are an employee, expect every dime you earn to be taken back by RU Department of Transportation Services since they refuse to give out faculty parking permits or respond to emails. Do NOT accept a job here.

Dan Hale

If your students need group therapy because of a meeting they didn't even attend then you obviously aren't teaching proper coping skills. Life is stress, if you cower from it, it will eat you alive. Good job staff.

Brian Sheppard

Treats their veterans like criminals. Do you want your disbursement when you are supposed to get it?! Once a veteran didnt pay them. So now ALL veterans have to sign a letter saying that they wont steal. Women are treated as a commodity to get into parties. Garbage school. Garbage staff. This school is putting your child's life at risk with it's transportation system.

peakblueventures

Rutgers has now embraced the leftist doctrine of: (a) the loudest voices win, even if nonsensical (b) "sensitivity" over tolerance, which is in effect, intolerance. I wouldn't send my kids to this University if it were the last one standing. Shame on this group of intolerant, leftist, socialists. Sorry to keep this short, I'm late for my sensitivity training at the local FEMA camp and then on my way to have my carbon footprint measured at the local EPA facility. Following that I have drive 100 miles to see my ACA doctor and...shoot! I forgot to pay my $6,000 deductible.

Great school, best Rutgers campus with tons of activities and access to NYC, Philly and surrounding areas. Many different programs and courses, amazing Veteran and non-traditional student aid. Networking with professors and directors is key they really have the connections you will need after graduation. Once they're done cleaning up the neighborhood and crime alerts stop being such a necessity this school will be the best location for anyone. (Rutgers Honors Graduate and it's in my hometown)

Most renowned worldwide university located right in New Brunswick, NJ. My experience there reflects that with the ambience and enthusiastic chanting of the Rutgers mantra, RU-RA-RA, in the football stadium. Spectacular place to be to achieve one's aspirations and dreams.

Beware of this University, the athletic department lets their basketball coach abuse then does nothing. Fellow students stand up and let your voice be heard We should not let the athletic department run our administration. This is an amazing institution. I went to RU for four years, got my BA in 2011, and immediately got a job with my Rutgers credentials and connections, even though my BA is in the humanities! Anyone who writes a bad review about their university did not take full advantage of everything it had to offer. Are there SOME awful administrative buildings? Of course, but that's everywhere. Besides, in the end, I've never had any issue where a little perseverance and focus didn't help me get through it. Go figure, but most of the offices are there to actually help you with what they say they should. Again, it's all about your attitude and how you handle it. In terms of 100% avoiding the RU Screw, you just need to be ahead of the curve, know what classes you need to take and when, pay attention to dates of important things (registration, housing, etc.), knowing who to contact immediately should something go wrong, and not be afraid to send a lot of emails. And to tell you the truth, a little RU Screw here and there is a great thing- it builds Rutgers character and prepares you for the real world which is a lot more brutal than RU is. Rutgers is a fantastic university where there is a niche for everyone. Academics and student life are getting better and better each year. Also, how about that awesome B1G Ten Conference? Rutgers is already amazing now, so just imagine it as the years continue on. Come give it a chance and find out. I'm gonna have a great degree and a great experience to go with it. Rutgers has a character like no other and I can say that with certainty because I have been to a lot of universities across the country. Rutgers sticks out (in a good way) and it's a special place (in the best way). RU RAH RAH!
