It's an ok school. For being a university its cheaper. But alot of staff's attitudes is bad, and when it comes to getting financial aid it seems to be a hassel. Good diverse programs though.

Do NOT live on campus if you ever want to get any work done, at the time of this post (Spring 2018) the internet on campus is the worst internet you will find. Constantly kicks you off and the IT department says there is "nothing they can do." I wish I could give it more stars because the school itself is amazing in regards to the education and how affordable it is. Better to transfer in as a sophomore so you are not forced to live on campus.

Not friendly to non-traditional students. What I mean is if you have to work and need help most all the professors want you to come in during a time that's not reasonable for you at all. Most of the teachers are older and stuck in the ways of how they learned instead of current applications. They have a 33% graduation rate and many students transfer or drop oit.

School is way overpriced for what you get out of it, especially if you live on campus. Teachers and other staff members are rude, disorganized, and don’t seem to care much about individual success. Professors definitely pick favorites and ostracize certain individuals. As far as dorm life - please do not waste your time or money. Residence life is an absolute JOKE. RAs do not care about you nor will they do anything at all to help fix your scenario. Housing directors also do very little and if you come to them with anything they will act like it’s an absolute bother. Your dorm mates will be loud and rude and disgusting, nobody will follow rules or pick up after themselves, and will not care that you need personal quiet time. You will find cockroaches in the old nasty bathrooms and have other various bugs crawling all over. Like to stay cool??? Too bad!!!! The air gets turned off about mid-October and they switch it over to heat only. There is no changing this. It is currently 80 degrees in my dorm room as I am writing this and the housing director refuses to switch it over to AC after multiple students have emailed and complained. Dining hours will change, dining staff will be beyond rude, there will hardly ever be food because “they’re switching over” (these times are wildly inconsistent - you never know if you’re going to have food), and the food they do have will barely be edible. There will also be no parking, but that’s nothing new. Please save your precious money and take it elsewhere. This school is the least deserving university in the entire state of Missouri and you as a student deserve so much better in every aspect.

Excellent professors that are professionals in their field and are super helpful. Beautiful campus that is gorgeous and peaceful with wonderful local wildlife to see in their natural habitats. Missouri Southern also offers student jobs that are really great because they can help to enhance the learning experience. I highly recommend Missouri Southern for anyone to enjoy a really great 4-year university.
