Have a good place for higher education

Max Briard

I spent several months visiting the physics department from another institution. From talking to them, it seems to be a bad place for aspiring students. Corruption is a thing, too, and scandals get covered up. Not a great research environment, either.

Gordon Grado

With any school its what you make it. The U of M is huge so you can't expect to have opportunities presented to you but a lot going on. Fun city although cold.

Carl Schaefbauer

No place I'd rather be.

Wang Steven

UMN is a good place for PHD students. However, many of the undergraduate programs here suck. Chemistry and programs in Carlson are good though. If you wanna go to programs not mentioned above, AVOID UMN. The school now is trying to enroll much more undergrad students than its resource can bear so that they can get more money. I got many friends in Statistics and they told me they need to get permission numbers for getting into a stat course even the course has no students registered. Usually, above one hundred of students try to get in one stat course that only allows for 30 students to register. The faculties for undergraduate office are also trying to keep students in the U by giving more harsh requirements on Liberal education. Remember that more time you spends here, more they can get from your tuition. Although some of the professors care about undergrads, most of them do not, and some of the math and statistics courses are in very bad qualities. When I first started my studies here, I was excited about UMN. After 3 years, even I got offers from good graduate schools, I felt very disappointed about the undergrad education here. Don't be fooled by their academic rankings as that are only for PHD. Overall, the resource for undergraduate math, statistics and economy students is very pathetic.

Drew Anderson

Gopher football should be doing better.

Rosco Sam

Get back to basics, starting with freedom of speech and common decency.

Zane Kaiser

Like any education, what you make of it gets the real results. I am in CLA, and a very specific major within it. My coursework is rigorous and combined with my own entrepreneurship I feel that I am getting an incredible education for a competitive American rate.

Joey Diderrich

This is definitely a great place to get an education and experience. You will need some money or a open to significant debt, but if you can find a balance between the education and experience, this is a fantastic institution of accredited learning.

Andre Batchelder

Oversized campus an undersized funds the service center and guest system and Student Union system it's ok but everything else is overpriced or way too big for some freshmen who just comes to the University of Minnesota but If anybody want to get to know somebody from Minnesota then go to the University of Minnesota! It seems like anybody who goes to the University of Minnesota either came here because of a boy or girlfriend and is going to get married and settle in Minnesota orange because of a job or free ride through scholarship funding

KJ P

Nice campus. Plenty of public transit options, but limited parking for personal vehicles. Bike racks abound. Several diverse and lower cost eating options in higher traffic areas.

Eddie Rosen

A really beautiful campus

Tyler J. Adams

Beautiful campus to tour (in the summer) and would have loved to attend had I been a resident of MN.

Dylan Leff

Great place for MN girls basketball!

Paul Brister

Beautiful campus, great people.

BILAL YILDIZ

I have been there for non-educational visit, I have been very impressed by the University Of Minnesota in different ways. First of all it is very very big Campus. If I were a Student, I would definitely go there and see before making last decision. Another thing it is one of the best University in the USA for educational success you can go ahead and search about it I am pretty sure you'll be impressed. Last thing I want to mention about is Culture. There are different many students from different Nations which makes it perfect in my point if view. If you have mix-culture then you'll reach success easier than others.

Kandace Thompson

I enjoy working here, awesome staff. Love seeing the Young men and women flooding into those Cafeteria doors! Let's Eat!

kittey Storm

“Tongues Untied" is racists You can't treat one group of people different then the other. Would be called racist and Heterophobia. Bans whites and straights from the "safe space".

Rachael Dickens

Treated well and good docs! Somewhat neglicted on certain wings. 4.2

Hack Man

Amazing students and buildings. Good professors (except when they decide not to show up and just let a grad student teach 95% of the time, which makes learning VERY difficult if English isn't their first language). Very nice use of green/open space. Parking can be a problem, so better to use mass transit.

Allison Valentine

University of Minneapolis is located in both the city of Saint Paul and Minneapolis of Minnesota state of USA. Very large campus and verities of course covered with research facilities.

Mike Heine

Had great experiences here. Beautiful campus which is very nicely kept up. Enjoyed all of my classes and my professors were great. Great place to get a Liberal Arts education.

Senchu Punyamurthula

Goldy's garden was a haven with beautifully soft and hardscapes. Perfect getaway!

Chris Ross

Always can find a free charger for my EV, access to the light rail, and the best teaching Hospital.

Andrew Hoese

A powerful and inspiring learning environment. Great resources for virtually everything.

James Mastne

It's a very awesome place to go!!!

Alvin Jonathan

I did my undergraduate study here. The campus is very beautiful! You can see downtown Minneapolis from the school! It looks really pretty especially during Spring and Fall. It also looks beautiful in the winter, but the temperature looks scary

Andrew S

Transferred out due to poor quality of many courses. Felt like I was just another sheep in the classroom, and was tired of constant pushing of liberal agendas by my professors. Oh and don't even bother trying to get into the professors office hours during midterm and finals week...there are literally lines. Also, printing was not free even though I paid almost 20K tuition a year..its a no from me friends. Save your time and money. The school is too hyped up for what it is.

Kemal Ozturk

Everything are amazing in/about this University!

Preston Green

Great campus. Wicked awesome atmosphere

Maureen Laufenberg

Do your research on employable fields, obviously, and go from there. The size of the U allows anonymity for those who want it, or intensely personal experiences through volunteering, groups, serving on boards, research opportunities, etc. I did all of those things while doing my undergrad at the U, and went on to happily accept an offer to do grad school there as well. I worked my butt off, but did end up landing an amazing job. I will be paying them appalling amounts of money well into my mid-to-late 40's, but that problem extends far beyond this one school. I have some of my best friends and memories from the U, as well as a great education. Highly recommended.

Chinh Truong

A very large University with three campuses, west and east bank along the Mississippi and the beautiful St Paul campus. Lots of people, knowledge, research, services and a large variety of quality restaurants.

Bethany Urbaniak

Love this school!

Paul Hobus

Don't pick a useless major otherwise it is a huge waste. Campus is nice in the summer and BRUTAL in the winter. Commuter students are going to have a hard time with traffic and parking. Be prepared to walk a lot since the campus is spread out.

Jim Keating

Beautiful campus

Jenna Neyers

butiful campus! reely wanna go heer butt im onli 5 yeers old mabi urli admizion?

Gabriela Grosshans

The “school” just wants your money.

Salma Ahmed

Hiii this a good place

CeruleanFlare

It’s a great university to be and the people are friendly however some halls like Vincent Hall, don’t have air conditioning, so it’s very hot inside.

Easton Crupper

At the University of Minnesota, you will find that you have all the resources to make your college experience completely worthwhile and have a huge return on investment. However, the size and scope of the campus is overwhelming and can cause many people to believe they are just part of a degree machine. If you are willing to put in effort to build relationships with professors, make use of the countless research opportunities, and capitalize on the fact that the University of Minnesota is one of the only flagship universities with a major metropolitan area in its backyard, then this school is the place to be. I recommend it to anyone.

Paige Moy

Not the best school by far, but nowhere near the worst. Overall, a really great place to be both academically, geographically, socially and otherwise.

AISHA SEMBRO

i have an experience also i wish to go there

Ryland Lichtsinn

Beautiful campus with a great opportunity to learn.

Alexander Halaszyn

All other things being fairly standard in terms of engineering programs at state schools, I've been very disappointed by the limited access to tools and lab space. All students at Century Community College have regular access to lathes, CNC mills, CNC router, 3D printers, laser cutters, and more. I pay twice as much, but it's several tomes more difficult to gain access to the tools I need to learn and be familiar with as an Engineer.

Amal Hussein

Because I love this college and I wish I could came after graduating from high school.

Jeffrey Ye

One of the best public schools in USA.

Matthew Goblish

By far the best college in Minnesota. Fantastic teachers, facilities, and overall really well organized school that is customized to fit you.

Nino B.

If you don't get weeded out in your first two years, you will enjoy the upper level courses. The best years were in junior and senior years where I interacted closely with accomplished faculty and their research. They don't give away degrees at this school. The University demands that you be resourceful and if you are used to being babied you will not survive this school or life, for that matter. I have the U of MN to thank for giving me the career I have.

Bruce Biggers

This is my sons second year at this University. He loves it at U of M, and from all I have seen and heard it is a top notch University. they focus on growth of the student, graduating in 4 years, and giving a great overall college experience. we researched dozens of schools...and I am very happy we chose U of M.

Steven Montgomery

Love this place they take awesome and amazing care for there people and kids alike awesome sauce

Miles Mu

Great education and nice teachers

Jennifer Davis

Excellent public transportation, great study spaces, specialized research. Glad to be a graduate of the U of M.

Jacob Post

I love this school, the campus is great, the transportation system is stellar, but it is missing one thing. For some reason, the University shuts down the air conditioning in the residence halls. My room is currently hotter than Satan's living room. My window is open, my fan is on, the door is open, and yet I still can't keep my chocolate from melting. Sure it tastes better melted, but it is a heck of a lot messier that way. Just once do I want to rest my head on my pillow after a long day of classes and other joyous activities without sweating. It is gross. I just want my chocolate to not melt.. I like chocolate... a lot.

Ana Rose

The University of Minnesota claims to be higher quality and more inclusive when in reality that isn’t the case for students with disabilities. The Disability Office will not advocate for you. If you are planning on coming to school here with a mobility limitation, don’t.

Skarlett Gabriela

Absolutely love this school! I'm in a small enough program that I actually have the chance to get to know my advisors and faculty in my major. The student body is ambitious and curious; so it's nice to be with like minded individuals. As a transfer student I was worried I would have a tough time meeting people but everyone is friendly!

Carter Morgan Ayres

I love the U of M because, in the fall of 1970, I fell in love all over again with Annie K who undertook graduate studies there. Now, I love it for all I learn there myself.

Trey Johnson

The U is fantastic and, just like any other university, completely what you make of it. There are plenty of ways to get involved and have a good time, while at the same time the study space available is unbeatable.

19812502

Dad. Died in the first time to be able is it Margaret Is it Margaret a PR

Peggy Hill

I just started my disability, do far I like this later, seems like good people, I trust in them and my good lord ...

Dakota Crews

I was walking around Goodwill in Fayetteville, TN when I ran upon a beautiful maroon t-shirt with a rather handsome gopher wearing a nice sweater with a big M on it and the state of Minnesota in the background. Looked them up on Twitter.. Obviously I followed them. Anyway The University of Minnesota got one more fan because of this sweet ass shirt. Go Gophers!

Chiew Albany

Beautiful campus good mix of old and new buildings. Coffman is amazing. Student paintings on the Washington Ave Bridge make campus more beautiful ! Uplifting universal message !

Maxwell

Haven't even started attending yet and things already suck. Lots and lots of people running into problems with the U not providing enough space for popular classes. After paying $6.8k ($800 in fees) I expect to be able to get into my classes. Apparently I have to adjust those expectations.

Ben MacKinney

Sometimes I wish I went to a college where I got to know my classmates better. But on the upside all of the clubs and opportunities of a larger organization were really nice

Lourdes Pam

Did not accept me the first time I applied- even with a 3.75 GPA. But overall a good lareg campus amd great buildings

Cary Miller

I graduated from this University. It is one of the top ranked research institutions in the country. Their pharmacy school is ranked second in the nation and believe me they deserve it. Excellent instructors and facilities. You are treated with respect by your professors. The campus is beautiful and the student body friendly. Minneapolis has a reputation as the biggest small town you'll ever know. Large metropolitan area but the people are friendly and down to earth. I love this place.

Daisy May

Had positive experience with Louise Berry and doctor Beilman for surgery in the future.

Josh E.

A good school in the Twin Cities. Not as good as a certain university in Iowa City or some of the others in the Big Ten but I have friends who enjoyed going here.

raghunadh reddy vuyyuru

Great place with good vibe to work and study

Syed Ali

Great campus with lots of things to do. Liberal arts

Susana Gonzalez

There are a lot of great things about the UMN (e.g. large variety of departments and programs), but there are also some very mediocre aspects. My best advice is to do your homework. Look into the program you're interested in very closely. In the end, regardless of the quality of the institution, it's up to you to make it a learning experience for yourself....although it certainly makes a difference on your experience whether or not you have the institutional support.

Rosh Tilbury

The UMN Twin Cities is one of the best universities in the world. The main campus is located just a couple of miles away from downtown Minneapolis and it is so beautiful. It is also considered a “Public Ivy.” If you are hungry for knowledge and motivated you will get all the resources you need to grow at this wonderful university. Several of its academic programs are ranked highly in the US. The university has light rail service which in fact is modern and sophisticated. As a result, commute to campus is convenient from both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Panje Nambao

I just got a mini tour of one side of this huge campus. The rooms are so comfy for a uni. Tiny kitchen and a bathroom you share with another person if you're in a single. Really nice.

Dazai

There classrooms are big which is helpful for competitions for science Olympiad and they had some pretty cool things there too

Ty Stafford

Really enjoyed my four years here. Sure you can fall between the cracks if you're not engaged with your courses and people around you, but for those looking for diversity this is a great place.

Janice Booth-Oni

Vast campus, current technology, many choices of study and living.

Shehan Liyanage

Beautiful campus, lot of sport facilities and university events to keep you occupied and entertained when you are not busy studying or attending classes

Hal Davis

Universities are a place to learn, people pay money to be taught material relevant to their future careers. Classes now are polluted with politics, teachers lording over their students opinions, and whiny so called feminists. Get politics out of the classroom and teach people about what their class is about.
