While attending I frequently encountered issues with their technology. I was constantly badgered by emails most of which did not pretain to me or my major. These factors and others lead to a scattered and unstructured learning environment. Would not recommend to others.

No Deal

Good school, you really have to hold doors open for people unless you want to get dirty looks. Fewer presumptious douches here than at ann-arbor. Still are some though. Difficulty sometimes feels arbitrary or due to trying to live up to the name when in reality there is very little difference between it and HfCC. ** 2016 edit** I've been going here 4 years now. Little has changed, the place is still run like a community college and almost all of the counselors are incompetent, late to appointments, etc. Even at WCCC counselors know you by name, seem to care, but not here...

The campus is a nice and clean environment, friendly colleagues, and helpful professors. The library is a good place to study, quiet and neat. As an Alumni to the university myself, I strongly encourage students to attend, as it offers multiple degree programs that cater to diverse interests. U of M is definitely a place that sets you up for success, number one choice, go blue!

Overall, I like UM-D. It's a smaller campus and the class sizes are the same as high school for the most part. The cafeteria food is really good! The university just updated the science building and now they're updating the engineering building. The main drawback is the lack of parking, and now the university is charging visitors for parking which I don't personally agree with.

As a transfer student, I am enjoying my first semester at U of M Dearborn. Academic advisors, financial aid advisors, professors, and all other school employees have been extremely helpful and much more accessible than at other universities. My only complaint is the parking. I have to plan for an extra 20-30 minutes just to find a parking space and walk to class. This makes class attendance difficult for anyone on a tight schedule.

The campus is a nice campus, with a good Engineering department. The Mardigan Library is a good place to study/get things done as it is very quiet. The University Center has a Starbucks, that does not really have the Starbucks taste to it. The food is usually priced at $5-6 dollars.

I applied for UMD and I have 8cgpa in Indian standards and good gre everything to get admission easily from this univ . They let me waited for 4 months for decision and I thought it is going to be a positive response, but finally they rejected me after 4 months before 20 days from orientation day saying that my cgpa is low that it should be more than 3.0 gpa so I asked them in wes calculation I have 3.5 and they said that we calculate differently. They are cheating so many students like me . Plz apply only if u are examplory student

It's okay so far. I am still new here. The campus is nice along with the new dorms/lofts. The scheduling for classes is really confusing. Also, this is suppose to be a NO SMOKING campus, people smoke everyday. I just seen someway today walk by puffing away and someone yesterday right by everyone as we are walking, they don't even have the decency to go to a secluded corner. So far it's fine here besides those unfortunate things. (Warning: beware of bee's, there are bee's all over this campus and they will get right by your face).

As with any type of education, it is all in how hard you study, what you study and what you can apply to the future. U of M Dearborn is definitely a place that can set you up for success.

Great campus and great education! I attended this college for my undergrad and can personally comment on the computer science staff. The campus is always well kept and the walking trails behind the college are well maintained and always nice to get away from class!

I am in the new JASS (Journalism and Screen Studies Major) at UM-Dearborn. The profs are very helpful. They let current students print up to 200 free computer pages a semester. The UMD campus has an international atmosphere. Don't expect a wide open campus like Ann Arbor's this campus is compact. All current students can use the fitness facility as part of your enrollment. There is an indoor track, aerobic equipment, weights, racket ball courts, and fitness classes. It is in the athletic building and there is ice skating and basketball. It is supposed to open at 6 a.m. (sometimes they arrive at 6ish but I'm not rating the gym staff) Get in a workout before your class, they have showers and hair dryers. Bring a lock. Arrive very early for class because the parking lot gets full very fast and I'v only seen a shuttle bus once. UMD has just built brand new dorms, so you can get the full college experience. They are located on the Fairlane Mall grounds across Evergreen. I hope they build a cross ramp, because Evergreen drivers go very fast.

Really care about making incoming student's lives easier. I was invited to the campus for an open house and I had a great time. Beautiful campus and they had students helping out and handing information sheets out. Can't wait to start going here.

I believe that though UMD may lack the sophistication and professionalism of Ann Arbor campus, it does a good job at providing students with direct attention and assistance from their faculty. It does need to improve infrastructure, international student diversity and should establish stricter entry regulation so that the student quality may improve.However this will not happen because they will not want to compete with their mother campus and secondly thought they have the budget to make the campus better, they will not provide A star quality for a minority student campus. It also needs to improve the catering service- there is no organic food options neither any healthy options- students are forced to eat from the unhealthy options. I think UMD can improve its quality standard and can ensure that at an affordable cost. It needs to pull up its socks, and try to strive for higher standards. However I will give it a thumbs up for student faculty relationships and and quality of faculty.
