The honesty is this. I believe other people on the reviews here have never been on any other University Campus. If they would have they would see this school is NOT the best as some have said. Now, having said that I have studied on many other campuses and I'm not in my 20's fresh out of high school as probably most here are. First of all this school is a college and not a university. The are accredited as such but really, when you've been on Universities and colleges and studied at both you quickly realize this school is a college atmosphere. Second, this school has many people that are fresh out of high school around 18-24 age. It is very high school like if you are into that sort of thing. Next, it is very expensive! THe reviewer who said this is not joking. You could take your money else where for much cheaper if you have a scholarship, take it. School is really diverse though, and that is one of the only pluses this school has going for it, people from all over the world. If you enjoy fitness, they have a very terrible "fitness" gym for men in the men's dorm (seriously?). Then for the ladies in the girls dorm. They have a separate pool area in another building with racquetball court and some outdoor rundown tennis courts. They don't have a dedicated fitness center as a university would have, again this is a college and not what you think you would be getting. If you are a SDA Christian I would steer clear of this school and recommend Southern Adventist University in Tennessee. Much better campus with better all around facilities and closer to city amenities with far greater choices. Berrien has nothing to offer students, the closest towns are Niles, St. Joseph, and Benton Harbor. Niles a broken down town that takes about 20 min to get to, they have wal mart. St Joseph is a better town but not much to offer but they have a wonderful beach. Benton harbor has a walmart, home depot, lowes, Target, and other better shopping offerings, it is a older poverty stricken town as well. The weather in Berrien Springs is well, let me ask you this, do you like the SNOW? Do you like the COLD? If not then don't bother coming here. It snows a C R A Z Y here and temperatures can reach 15-20 below at night with 0 degrees for the high in the winters. THe summers are just the opposite with high humidity and a 95 degree day feels like 110 with sticky humidity. This school is has a very disorganized system of administration and they are literally a mess. They mest up my paper work countless times and sent me wrong forms to fill out and on and on. It took an act of congress to finally get accepted as a student. Then to register the system is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Almost like they don't want you to register for classes so they make it the hardest thing to do to register and locate classes you need. The email system they use is this outdated system it has to be the worst I've ever seen. They have update their cafeteria and the food is vegetarian but I must admit it has been pleasant every time. The other option is a place called the gazebo and it has good food as well, vegetarian as well. I seriously recommend prospective students to come and visit this place and then visit other campuses. I think you'll see what I mean when I say there is better out there. IF you are a married couple there is student housing but it extremely old and unsanitary for living. I can't believe they offer these to student couples. I hate to see the dorms. I just advise you to visit here and then visit other campuses to see if you can really see yourself here.
