Very biased and misleading deans. I was told I was lazy regardless of me being on the deans list for two consecutive years because I wanted fair treatment—another student in the same school (Fulton) had a requirement waived by the dean simply to get them to attend the school, I asked for the same treatment and was denied and told that I must fulfill the requirement “like everyone else” and to not be lazy, how two-faced. Most teachers here are good, some are god-awful and almost outweigh the good. I’d recommend going to a college that doesn’t charge $4500 per semester and chafgea based on credits, these vultures will pick you to the bone.

Quick reality check here, 1 semester experience from my boyfriend: The Bookstore - as has been mentioned in other reviews - is a blatant attempt at ripping off students who are already overpaying for the quality of education Salisbury University will provide. It's a MESS. I come from a third world country and I've never seen an educational institution be this confusing about the most basic things like required books for a syllabus. Algebra teacher could not figure out why his calculations would never match the book's answers - that's because he consistently kept adding the page number into whatever equation was written next to it. Technical Writing teacher e-mailed the whole class a singlep aragraph describing an assignment. 2 weeks later, nobody handed it in, because not a single person could understand what the assignment was. 'I' read the assignment (I have two college degrees and speak 5 languages fluently) and I could not even begin to make sense of his request. As per state law students have to take up some kind of physical activity in the form of a class (swimming, sports and so on). One of them was Power Walking. Highest tuition fees in the state.. for walking. Very creative use of budget. If you're local to Salisbury you'll likely avoid this place because you KNOW. It's the students that transfer here and have no idea - falling for the marketing, the beautiful campus and all - that end up wasting their time and money. There's about TWO strong programs in the entirety of the spectrum - Business, which is ministered by the Perdue School of Business (so not REALLY Salisbury University, they just have an arrangement), and the Nursing program is apparently top notch. Every other program I can PROMISE and GUARANTEE to you you are not getting your money's worth...

The dorms are the only problem its’s pretty untidy when you get there.Like bugs, dust and rust and the shower is pretty bad but over all great school and community.Very nice senery as well. Plus the Move program is fanomanal.

It's an alright University but be prepared to pay an exorbitant amount of extra fees. The bookstore is one of the most unorganized places I've ever been. Every semester I would order my books. Two weeks after my order, like clockwork I would receive half my order. The invoice would say there was a "problem" with the other half (not in stock, or some other lame excuse). Then they would inform me that I needed to reorder the books that were canceled and pay an extra shipping charge (rather than put them on back order) because my order took two separate shipments even though its their fault. Salisbury University is only out to separate you from your money.

24-hour section in library is only open during weekdays, and on Sunday but not Friday. So it’s not ACTUALLY 24HOURS -.- Students out here trying to catch up with stuff in the night because, that’s when most of us function and get off work. Thank you for the facilities -.-

Some of the best memories of my life are at this amazing institution. I took many life lessons and made the most amazing connections.

There are not many redeeming qualities about this college to be honest. I transferred from community college and attended the university from 2011 - 2012. I became involved in an extremely emotionally turbulent personal situation toward the beginning of 2012 for which I went into counseling on and off campus. The counselor that I was seeing initially, Meredith, was inept and disconnected from my situation. I was finally transferred to a different counselor and overall the counseling experience at the university actually seemed to make the situation (and my depression) worse than if I had abstained from counseling at all. Because of the same situation I failed several of my classes. I met with the head of the department for one of the classes I had failed and he was surprisingly compassionate and understanding about the situation. Aside from my personal situation, the grounds of the campus are beautiful. The multicultural events are really something worth investing your time. When I attended the university they would award a cultural laureate award to those who attended a certain amount of multicultural events. On campus housing is hit or miss. Off campus housing, go with University Park over University Village...it is worth the extra money.

I had the pleasure of speaking to students in the Education Faculty. Their open mindedness and willingness to embrace international books was inspiring. As an Australian author, it was wonderful sharing my I AM JACK' and anti bullying through literature with them. Hosted by Professor Ernest Bond and Patricia Dean, I enjoyed this university where there was a real commitment to raising literacy rates, promotion of international books, excellence and literature which opens discussion on the environment. I loved the university being so integrated into the town of Salisbury. it was a beautiful campus and a welcoming town.

Great school!

I attend this school and it makes the best of its size. You get the 1:1 time with professor, but you also have the amenities of a large school.

Graduated Student Athlete from Salisbury. Town was 4 th in the nation in crime per capita in 2012 got robbed a few times walking to class. Town does not like the campus and has a mindset like being 50 years in the past, stubborn, hateful, and in me running down there at points hostile. The school has a great accounting, chemistry, physics, spanish, economics, and history departments from what I studied. Definitely if you are to go here please note despite small class size, professors tend not to really care too much as they are doing research to get a job at another place, so best to be a self-starter and you should be set. Has a high turnover rate in terms of students, and professors which the university glosses over but if your focus is to earn a degree from an accredited school you should be alright. Last note be prepared,it is a small town with small town people politics, if you burn your bridges with someone down there its a very small campus bout 1/2 mi North to south, so you will see almost everyone every day. My advice there is dont make enemies, do your schoolwork graduate and get outta town.

Statistically speaking, the students here have the lowest IQ scores of any college in the country. So, if you get accepted here, you may want to think a bit about your life.

Some teachers are great and some are the worst I have EVER had. Some professors seem to be racist, prejudice and sexist.

Went here for undergrad. Now going for graduate school. Suites all of my needs.

Excellent school; one reviewer claims to have been robbed several times walking to class...LOL. He must have been walking down pitch black allies at 2am. If you aren't stupid, you'll be fine. Great school, great education, and great people.

The school does its best to hide their racism. It has always been racist with smiling faces. The students wanted to throw fire into a protest in 2014. The president did little to nothing about the situation only stating that the people of the university does not support or think these actions when a lot of people up voted these comments on Yik Yak. Don't come here.

As me and my group of Phipps neighborhood was going for a campus tour today at 1:00 when we're at the main building waiting for the tour director and she refer herself as peasant and it hurt us knowing some of our financial problems and she made that us group from the Bronx are poor and uneducated and she made us feel below I am hoping to share this message and help to stop racism in school

I started going to Salisbury University this spring after transferring in from a community college. I don't like it here at all. You ask for help and people either don't help or are rude to you. I've had nothing but problems since being here and have been treated terribly by just about everyone I've come into contact with. They treat you as less than and considering how much you pay in tuition you'd think that that wouldn't be the case. I'm in the process of moving to a new university as soon as possible.

The only redeeming quality about Salisbury University is their teaching staff. The professors I have had or worked with (for the most part) are knowledgeable and capable individuals. However, once you get past this factor, Salisbury University fails in almost every field. The administrative offices are horrible, they cannot seem to manage common sense decisions or paperwork. Their timeliness is past due to say the least. I have never, not a single time, had a positive experience with any administrative office. I have worked with and attended multiple universities in my tenure as a student and would never advise anyone to ever consider this as a possibility.

It is very pretty, all brick buildings. You will always see people out and about; whether it's riding bikes, long boards, or ripsticks. Everyone is super nice and very helpful to newbies.
