1st Roman Catholic seminary in the United States founded in 1791. Also, the 1st university incorporated in the State of Maryland. St. Marys Seminary and University is run by the Society of St. Sulpice, a group of diocesan priests originally from Paris, France who have given their lives to forming future diocesan priests.
