Frostburg is a pretty decent school. It has a lower reputation that it does not deserve, as there are endless success stories about Frostburg graduates. That being said, this school is NOT for everyone. If you are a freshman or transfer student considering attending FSU, I highly recommend visiting the campus and getting acquainted with the students before you decide. If you aren't someone who is into Greek Life/Partying, super cold weather, or you aren't a complete weirdo, the social environment there will kill you. You may be naive to it at first, but it will creep on you eventually. That being said, FSU has some of the most unique students you will ever meet, but also some of the most immature ones that never mentally finished HS. Most of the professors are pretty down to earth and care about students, but some are god awful. If you want to be a teacher, musician, ethnobotanist, geographer, or computer scientist, this is one of the best universities for you in the state of Maryland. Some facilties need major renovations, having not been renovated since the 60s and 70s. However, the largest and newest buidling on campus (CCIT) is beautiful, equipped with open computer labs, including an apple mac lab, a 24/7 lab, and has nice breakoutrooms with TVs. It's certainly one of the best University facilities in Maryland. The dining hall food stinks, and you should take advantage of using meal swipes at Lane Center options like Chik Fil A, Moes, Grill Nation, and at Subway. The freshman dorms suck, but the upper classmen dorms are like your average American college dorms. Edgewood Apartments are nice, but a bit more expensive. Lots of nature trails, lakes, mountains, and scenery you dont find at other MD schools are a few miles from FSU. If you go here, study hard, have fun, and good luck future bobcat! :).
