Some of the school affiliates have been very nice and helpful, especially with getting some of my credits from my other school to take care of some of their requirements. I only had 1 bad experience and that's with a lady from the Financial Aid office. I called because I didn't understand a requirement and not for an attitude. Plan to try to just finish up my degree ASAP, but if I can find a different school I will definitely transfer. Overall, I still like NSU.

It's a really cute university in a nice quiet town in Northwestern Louisiana. People here are really nice and finding good food here is not hard at all.

If you're looking for a school that gives you that one on one attention you need in the classrooms, then Northwestern State is the place for you. From the time you step foot in the city, you have people willing and able to help you any way possible. NSU allows students to practice what they teach by giving them the experience they need through the use of equipment and settings they provide. If you're a communications or medical field major, I would consider coming here because you'll get what you need and be just as effective as someone who graduated from LSU or Syracuse. I love my alumni too, GO DEMONS!!!

Northwestern State University is my Alma Mater. I enjoyed every minute of my life there, my classes, my professors, my fellow students...it was a wonderful life experience that continues to pay big dividends to this very day. I was part of Northwestern's Centennial Class of 1984. Many of my professors and mentors have "crossed over" but will never be forgotten. They earnestly taught every student to the best of their ability and in many cases I witnessed went above and beyond to assist students with classwork, student jobs, scholarships, student loans, graduate school, letters of introduction and recommendation and their most important thing.....the gift of their time. I can honestly say that attending NSU was more like being adopted into a close-knit family than just going off to school. I now have a PhD from a pretty recognized University in the Northeast. Everybody has heard of it but more should hear of Northwestern State University of Louisiana because with a good, firm foundation, "a good liberal education", as my Dean Dr. George Stokes once told me, you can go anywhere and do anything you choose. I really believe that some of the best years of my life was upon the three columned campus of the Old Normal School. Go Demons!!!

Northwestern State is my Alma Mater. I had a great experience there earning my degree, and also met and married my wife of 53 years. We both have enjoyed the friends we made there. We have returned for 2 Golden Jubilee celebrations which were great and allowed us to renew friendships from our days at NSU.
