Attacking free speech. Conservative students at Transylvania University were asked by administrators to stop tabling. The conservative students were shut down within minutes, the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter tabled in the same area the day before for more than an HOUR. There are audio recordings of the incident.

As a parent, I would certainly NOT recommend Transy to another family or their young adult. My daughter attended Transy and we experienced numerous issues. First, after living in the dorm a few weeks, noticed security problems. Anyone could walk in off the streets (it happened) and have access to the floor. The first floor had water problems and flooded twice while there. Second, as a freshman you get the last pick of classes/instructors and that is also a major concern. Worst classes and worst instructors... good first impression! Lastly, housing wouldn't take action when her roommate was a partier and she wanted out. It was like pulling teeth to get any action from residence life. She transferred out and surprise, surprise... most of the Transy classes would not be accepted at other accredited colleges! That's a serious red flag when you're paying for a "high end" education. There are other great options for Liberal Arts Colleges in the region to consider before Transy. You don't always get what you pay for!

The education was top-notch but the social aspect is somewhat limiting. Not a lot of diversity. Great opportunities to study abroad and direct your own education.

You know, Transy's academics are top-notch. Beautiful campus too. But some recent behaviors to blatant racism are absolutely unacceptable! Even though the white supremacist who harassed a DACA female student is gone, the University only objected when her video went viral. If you want a great private school in Kentucky, best to go to Centre or Bellarmine. And I wouldnt be surprised if they have alt-right neanderthals too...

Went to back desk to seek assistance around the university and someone named Rainey Mason couldn't even bother to get up from her computer game to help me... when she finally got up she acted like I was going beyond her job description to simply inquire about helping a friend move out. That entire office is useless.

There is a student in your school who feels unsafe as you protect another student who is inciting white supremacist hate groups, such as 10th crusade enthusiasts, to harass her and report her to ICE as she is a DACA recipient. After she came to the school with this it was decided the other students actions do not violate your non-discriminatory policy. Absolutely horrific that her fears and concerns are not valued enough for administrators to take action in ensuring her safety. I didn't know where to start in reaching out on her defense so this is my first step. Next I will find proper numbers to call and voice my concerns on this and I will encourage EVERY ONE I know to do the same.
