I intensely regret attending this college. The Game Design program I was drawn by turned out to be a swindle, cobbled together from unrelated, pre-existing courses. And those courses were little more than shallow explorations of ideas that anyone with an Iowan high school degree will have consumed and spat out long before being asked for thousands of dollars. In those instances where I did learn something new, it would (with alarming regularity) come in the form of a link to a YouTube video I could have readily found on my own. Many professors are regularly unprofessional, rude, menacing and/or flatly combative (though my experience with this sort of behavior was limited to the faculty in the English department). And the courses you pay for may not be the ones you end up with. In one instance, I was given an A for a class and told not to continue to come, when the professor decided that some of us should simply be moved to a different, internet based, turn-key course. In another instance, the class was informed that the course's name and subject matter were due for a change in the coming year, and that the course we were attending would instead teach to that new (and unrelated) material. The library is stocked with ancient, irrelevant books. The staff aren't required to use the school's provided grading and assignment system. I advise anyone reading this to turn away. Consider the near 100% acceptance rate as the warning I should have heeded- and that you still have time to do. If my experience is any indication, Grand View should only be mentioned in the same breath as Trump University, and in no other instance.

Expensive College but worth it... grew up in this neighborhood & my old house is where they built a parking lot now

I love Grandview! They have small class sizes, and the professors are great one on one. Very beautiful university!

There is a reason the acceptance rate is at 98%. Facilities are outdated. Freshman dorms are absolutely terrible and always had the smell of weed. They have a weight room area, but the weights are trashed and the space is extremely small. The cafetaria is okay the first week and then becomes the same stuff everyday, it is practically non existent on the weekend, the food also has no quality, basically tasted as if it was microwaved or drowned in grease. If you are looking to play a sport the lower level coaches are usually a joke and don't have any business coaching as discussed frequently within the teams. The class sizes are small and the professors are pretty good though. Not a very good atmosphere to be around.

Stellar institution that beyond their achievements in offering a very high quality and respected education to its students, also has added some beautiful architecture to the city of Des Moines that was very much lacking in that area. The skywalk going across Highway 69/SE 14th Street is particularly impressive and meshes extremely well with Des Moines long history and many extant examples of connecting building via skywalk.

Do not attend this Money hungry institution. They will charge you for anything and everything they can think of. These borderline thieves have their hands in your pocket the entire time you are enrolled. They increase the tuition 4% every year and they claim it's to "fix problems" with the university like the WiFi, food, accessibility on campus, parking etc... but it never gets fixed! Yes the campus looks nice from the outside, but DO NOT BE FOOLED. This school only cares about your dollar and not you! This is my senior year and I plan to graduate in April and I can tell you with out a doubt they will never get a penny out of me in the future. Also, do not come here if your beliefs don't match up with theirs because let me tell you, they will shove their beliefs down your throat with no mercy. They say that they embrace all opinions and viewpoints, but this is a total and utter lie. I once emailed the president of the university about an issue I had and he basically told me (in his version of being nice) to suck it up and deal with it. Is he right? Yes absolutely I should suck it up like everyone else, but is it right for him to talk to his students like that? No. From personal experience, the president of this university could care less about his students, just as long as he gets that fat paycheck. The way that the faculty (other than the professors) treat the students here is sad. Either you believe in what they are doing there, or they will single you out. The only nice thing that I have to say about this school is that the professors do genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. I've had good experiences with multiple professors that have real-world knowledge in their respective fields. They have helped me get through the toughest classes and spent a good amount of time out of their busy schedules to meet with me and talk about assignments.

Grand View University is a very good private Christian university. The university provides a wide variety of student activities and support. Classes are small which gives a good teacher to student ratio, which for the classes I attended was about 1:20. If I ever return to academia for more schooling, Grand View will be the first institution I consider.

I just finished my Freshman year at Grand View and highly recommend it. The staff is so friendly and focused on building a community feel for their students. The class sizes are small and the professors for the most part are all relational and focused on your success.

An up-and-coming school that gives a decent education at an affordable price. There are better universities in the world but a great option for those who want to give college a try.
